ATTACKING AN INSANITY TITAN 101: AN INTRODUCTION A gruff woman, slightly short in stature, was waiting for them when they entered the training fields. "So you're the next batch," she barked, loudly. "Welcome to Insanity Titan training 101, I'm Annabeth, Anna, please and thank you, and for the next hour, you belong here."
"First, there are three rules here, while training. Rule number one, no swearing. Absolutely no swearing. Our taichou forbids it." Oh right, she was a Sun Hunter. Of course. "Rule number two, you work in teams. Life or Death, Sun or Moon or even Mist I want to see you branch out of your lack of social lives I'm looking at you Life division and embrace yourself in the world of defending this Island. One mishap, one slip-up, and you'll mess it up for everyone."
She paused, pulling out a giant sports pack. "Now, this brings us to rule number three. Follow the steps. You must, and I repeat this very strongly, you must work together as a team. If either team members messes up, then you will not only cause your own inevitable demise but probably also the inevitable demise of all your nakama. Any questions so far? Good." She didn't actually leave room for questions.
The sports pack was unzipped to reveal a strange-looking leather harness complete with a ridiculous assortment of buckles. "Lesson number one is equipping your harness. Imagine you're hanging from a one-hundred foot Insanity titan and you forgot to secure a part of your harness. Snap. Game over, titan wins, go home. Got the picture? Okay, let's start." She began to equip the harness with relative ease, and it was to be noted that while devoid of a white coat, she was wearing white pants and a white shirt with some sort of emblem patched onto the back of her shirt with wings on it. It was probably a Sun Division thing. "Strap the buckles around your legs. Next, work on the two around your waist. Tug to secure them. Lastly is the one around your chest. You'll notice a clip, that's for you to secure your first aid gear with."
She then pulled out two large, what looked like thick aluminum containers. "Next is are these guys. If you're running offensive, I'm looking at you Sun and Death Hunters, you'll need two of them. These are your Fear Infusers. Attach them to your harness. Strap and make sure it's secure. Both are weighted so you don't fall off balance. Make sure your harness is strapped high enough if you're a shorty like me. Next, you have what the Insanity R&D is calling-" Sigh - "The jet pack. It has two emergency handles tied to your wrists. Use only when needed, as it runs on limited emissions. Press and hold to eject yourself in the air and please do not use these rampantly, R&D said they will be taking usage fees straight out of your division budget."
"Now, if you are running defensive - come over here Asha-" She waited a bit for a taller, freckled girl to part their way from the 101 ground- "If you are running defensive, you are equipped with Fear Stabilizers. It is basically a thick double-ended rope. Think of it as an anchor. You need to anchor the Titan to the ground. Once you have, this will weaken it enough to attack. So once again. Offensive runs up, use your 'jet pack' -" air quotes- "where needed. You are carrying one end of the anchor for the Defensive player. Land on a safe spot. Hook the anchor anywhere vulnerable in the Titan. Give your team member the okay by tugging three times in rapid succession on the rope. Next, Defensive team member's turn. Upon signal, anchor your side of the rope onto the ground, you will be tethering it, basically. The Runic stuff does its work keeping the tether firmly planted to the ground, your job is to make sure your team member is safe for the duration. The anchor takes sixty-seconds to charge on average. Sixty seconds in combat is a very, very long time. Offensive, keep the Titan distracted. Defensive, keep the Offensive alive. Once the creature is considerably weakened, once it is sluggish, it will easily reveal it's weak spots. The glowing parts on its platelets will be easily exposed. This is the last thing, make this count. Offensive, take your Infuser and inject the Titan with stuff in this canister, and science. That's it. Once you're done, don't wait, there may be no time to wait, use the anchor line, use the Jet Pack and get yourself off the freaking Titan."
"Once the titan is stabilized it will create what we fondly call an Insanity burst cloud. Haul your butt away from the blast radius. Once it has disappeared - and only disappeared as guaranteed somehow, some shape, some form it will come back, pick up anything you see lying nearby, anything Insanity based and bring it to R&D. We're only stalling for time here, this isn't about defeating the bad guy and winning the day. It's about seeing the big picture and working together as a team, Life, Death, Sun, Moon, Mist, whatever division, and saving each other."
She finally tugged a few more sports bags out. "That's it then, go practice. I don't want to see any questions until you're properly equipped for inspection."OOC INSANITY TITAN VERSUS:: (No need to respond to this post, it is assumed everyone took the 101 as it is mandatory). There are FOUR INSANITY TITAN types roaming Deus Ex. They may appear anywhere from the beach/ lighthouse (most common) to the jungle area, to the abandoned cove. All Hunters will be asked to regularly take patrols, in teams of two. They must be of different divisions, even mist. Here is the team breakdown: gaia_crown [ Step 1: Teams and Finding a Team ]: Any offensive must be with any defensive as a team, no exceptions. However, as Mist Hunters can only team with another offensive or defensive division, to compensate for not being especially powerful in anything, but flexible in all the traits. Offensive Divisions: Sun, Death Defensive Divisions: Moon, Life Any: Mist (but two Mists cannot work together). gaia_star [ Sun Hunter Bonus: ] Sun Hunters can choose to cut 20% of the Insanity Titan's HP upon start of battle. It is 20% for Trainees, 25% for Intermediates, and 30% for Full Sun Hunters. gaia_star [ Death Hunter Bonus: ] Death Hunters can choose any 3 points in time to reroll their dice without penalty. This includes any mechanic rolls, attack rolls, charge rolls, etc. It is 3 for trainees, 4 for Intermediates, and 5 for Full Death Hunters. gaia_star [ Life Hunter Bonus: ] Life Hunters may heal their half their HP once this entire battle. It is half for trainees, roll 1d6 and if even full HP if off half HP for Intermediates, and full HP for full Life Hunters. gaia_star [ Moon Hunter Bonus: ] Moon Hunters can roll 1d6. If 1, they can choose a step to skip (see steps below, only from steps 3 onwards. You will skip the whole step so like, 3a, 3b, 3c if applicable OR 4a, 4b, 4c. Notify which one if skipped. It simply means players do not need to roll, they can just rp success in their next post prior to doing the next step. If successful, QUOTE your members. Let them know this step has been skipped). They can only do this once. If trainee, you have to roll 1 or 6, if intermediate you have to roll even, if full Hunter, you have to roll any BUT 1. gaia_star [ Mist Hunter Bonus: At the start of the round roll 1d6. If odd, you may copy one of the abilities above. For trainees it is odd, for intermediates it is any number other than 1 or 6 is success, for full Mist Hunters, you can just choose an ability to use from the above BUT it MUST fit your role (offensive or defensive). A group is composed of TWO players MAX. You may "tandem" fight however, by having a pair of two fighting the same Titan, or a pair of 3 max. Each one is responsible for their own partner, however. Only one from the pair needs to apply the stabilizer and infuser. gaia_crown [ Step 2: Titan Searching ]: There are FOUR classes of Titans. Simply pick the one you would like your team to fight (OOCly) and ICly have them stumble upon it. Create a [TITAN] PRP for it. If anyone can stumble upon the patrol and join, label it [TITAN ORP]. Make sue you specify in the FIRST POST the roles you are looking for. In the first post, also post the BELOW stats of the boss, and the image of it. One ONE person from the team needs to do this and QUOTE the other players (where applicable) when ready. gaia_star [ Not-Really Pyramidhead ]: Class: ** Image profiling: HEREHP: 50/ 50 Upon defeat: Has a 50% chance of dropping Insanity remains usable for the R & D. Each player rolls 1d100. If odd, you find remains (for that player). Class ** Titan HP: 50/ 50 Description: A large, offensive creature that tries to use its head to spear anything in its way. It can cause huge, destructive damage if left unchecked. It is however, very slow. Upon defeat: Has a 50% chance of dropping Insanity remains usable for the R & D. Each player rolls 1d100. If odd, you find remains (for that player). gaia_star [ Not-Really Rathalos ]: Class: *** Image profiling: HERE HP: 75/75 Upon defeat: Has a 75% chance of dropping Insanity remains usable for the R & D. Each player rolls 1d100. If 76 or higher, you find remains (for that player). Class *** Titan HP: 75/75 Description: An agile creature that is weaker but can fly, quickly and steadily. Attention must be paid to its movement patterns, as it will always descend after a small period of time, as its body is too heavy to remain in the air. Watch out for it's tail, which will jab at anyone nearby, and its venomous spray that it will spit. Upon defeat: Has a 75% chance of dropping Insanity remains usable for the R & D. Each player rolls 1d100. If 76 or higher, you find remains (for that player). gaia_star [ Not-Really Godzilla ]: Class: **** Image profiling: HERE HP: 100/100 Upon defeat: Has a 100% chance of dropping Insanity remains usable for the R & D. Class: **** HP: 100/100 Description: This creature is entirely covered in armoured platelets, making it very, very difficult to find a weak spot. It will also released electrical charges along its spine that become dangerous if left unchecked for too long. To neutralize this, the electrical charge points must be attacked before they literally explode and knock Hunters back outside of its blast radius. Upon defeat: Has a 100% chance of dropping Insanity remains usable for the R & D. gaia_star [ Not-Really Giant Terrifying Thing Oh God Run For Your Life]: Class: ****** ONLY FULL HUNTER TEAMS ARE CLEARED FOR ENGAGING IN THIS CREATURE (no trainees). Image profiling: HERE HP: 500/500 Upon defeat: Will drop two useable things for each player to carry back with them. Upon defeat number two: A herd of small terrified Hunters will come and congratulate you for saving them * Mostly comprised of Life Hunters. Class: **** HP: 500/500 Description: This creature is extremely agile and dangerous. All three tails are flexible, and it will use them to grab and quash anything it sees. It can sense without its eyes, and it's skin is poisonous upon contact if left too long close to it. Tread rapidly while moving around it. Watch out for its saliva, which is intensely corrosive. Upon defeat: Will drop two useable things for each player to carry back with them. Upon defeat number two: A herd of small terrified Hunters will come and congratulate you for saving them * Mostly comprised of Life Hunters. gaia_crown [ Step 3: Titan Offensive ]: The offensive Team(s) will move first! Have the offensive team(s) move to maneuver the equipment. They will need to get ON the titan, and secure the cord from their end in order for the Defensive Teams to use the Fear Stabilizers. You CANNOT attack the titan at this point in time.
- Offensive players must roll 1d6. Each time they roll even, they take 5 damage. Keep on rolling until odd. Any player that has rolled odd has successfully mounted the titan. If multiple players only one needs to do it but it has to be their partner has to be the one that uses the stabilizers (see step 3b).
gaia_crown [ Step 3b: Titan Defensive ]: The matching Defensive team member, from the successful offensive team member (in step 3) must now use the stabilizer. Roll 1d6. If odd, you are successful, if even you take 5 damage, and must continue to try until you have stabilized. If multiple team members, it NEEDS to be the matching team member of the person who had the offensive success (in step 3). Once BOTH members have done these steps, you can move to step 4.
gaia_crown [ Step 4a: Attacking Titan Offensive ]: The offensive player now needs to attack the Insanity Titan. Roll your normal attack dice as always. You may continue to attack until the Titan has LESS THAN 25% OF ITS HP (round up). Charge attacks, Artifacts, and Runic weapons can be used as well as skills (see the above on skills). No need to take turns, you can continue moving until low on HP, or wait on your partner to defend you for optimal effects. Once it has, you can move to step 5. You take 5 auto damage EVERY turn you attack so be careful! THIS STEP CANNOT BE SKIPPED BY MOON HUNTERS.
gaia_crown [ Step 5a: Attacking Titan Defensive ]: The defensive player must heal the offensive player. Use the emergency med kit and your defensive skills. Roll your DEFENSIVE dice to defend a player by quoting them. This will defend them from the damage you rolled for next turn. If your player is getting low on HP you may heal them. Defense does NOT stack. You do not take auto damage for defending. You are allowed Runic bandages along with any healing abilities such as Charge attacks, Artifacts and skills (see above @ division skills). These are the only ways to heal your players. THIS STEP CANNOT BE SKIPPED BY MOON HUNTERS. Once the Titan has reached less than 25% HP you may move to the next step below.
gaia_crown [ Step 6: Hauling a** ]: - AT 25% HP the titan will begin the struggle, and start to become volatile. All team members must disengage their equipment and run away! - Each player rolls 1d6. If odd, they have successfully disengaged. If even, they must continue rolling until odd. They take -5 damage per attempt. - If a player rolls 3 evens, they get KO'ed. A team member must carry them out (one that rolled successfully).
gaia_crown [ Step 7: LOOT ]: - Now you can loot using the above rolls (see the post one of your thread). Hooray! With the loot you can use it for interesting upgrades (see below).

ATTN: INSANITY R & D WANT YOUR INSANITY TITAN REMAINS! INSANITY R & D (a combination of specializations from Life, Death and Mist working together) want YOUR Insanity Titan (Colossal Titan) remains for research, investigation, and Insanity footprint tracing (and exclusively your Insanity Titan remains, we are NOT looking for anything else at this point in time, and that includes your minipets, we know you think this is funny, Sun Minipet Attack Squad Specialization Squad but CUT IT OUT!!! SERIOUSLY. )
Please drop them off in Lab 31C and 31B, there should be an attendant waiting. If they are sleeping, please wake them up. If they are sleeping and their name is Cody, Brian, or Sean, please let them sleep, they probably deserve it. Maybe also reward them with some edible goods, especially pizza. We like pizza. NO ANCHOVIES.
Make sure to USE THE FORM OR YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR COMPENSATION. It will be mailed to your dorm room. We're only mailing to dorm rooms, not any of those abandoned town cots, we're not freaking suicidal here. OOC INSANITY TITAN REMAINS: - If your Hunter team has successfully defeated an Insanity Titan and looted the remains they may come here. These remains go back to the R&D groups that are working together now to try and solve this Insanity Titan problem and bring a working semblance of a shield up against the immense Insanity problem, at least enough to protect Deus within the walls. Until then they are working hard. - Simply ICly have your character(s) drop off the remains in this thread and NPC in a tech who will ask for your form. Compensation will be given to you via a mailbox in your dorm room in the form of hard, cold cash and what they are calling the Titan Bartering and Priority System (TBaPS). Because cigarettes are hard to find, instead, you get a box of nicotine patches. You get one for each Insanity Titan you help defeat. If you collect 5 nicotine patch boxes, you get to upgrade your titan gear! :!: Insanity Remains Dropoff Form :!: Class Type: (rank here) OOC: LINK TO RP: LINK HERE Further notes on the battle and anything to mention: OOC: TITAN GEAR AND UPGRADES TITAN GEAR AND UPGRADES: gaia_crown The current currency is 1 Titan you defeat = 1 nicotine patch box gaia_star Basic Titan Gear (free) - No upgrades. ADDITIONAL CLEARANCE +REVERSE PENDANTSIt seems, literally, the path outside Deus Ex, just a little past the inactive Lighthouse Portal are now guarded, instead of the Lighthouse portal itself. New instructions have pulled through, the the Hunters are more than happy to inform any trespassing outside of this new rule.
"Lighthouse is totally off limits."
"Totally off limits," echos the second Hunter.
"That means anything beyond the Lighthouse point too. Jungle, underwater reserve, anything other than towns. Unless you are specifically going for Insanity Titan patrolling or cleared for Rune access.
"Absolutely cleared," echos the second Hunter.
"And that means absolutely no beach parties."
"Absolutely not," repeated the second Hunter, who had also caught wind of the rumour. "No beach parties. No fun."
OOC BEACH and portal access is RESTRICTED. However, if you are lucky enough to get your hands on a Reverse Pendant, granted only after accomplishing some rather exemplary task, you may use its charged power to do EITHER of the following: - Grant your room and only your room enough power for a month without need for external runes. That means yes, people can come to your room with IC permission and recharge their phone there. OR - Grant you access to the Lighthouse Portal for exactly three trips to whatever location to get whatever your leave allows you to get and stay for (the amount of power it has for a portal). That means yes, you can ICly go and pamper your Hunter or bring back fresh supplies.
