Hunger Games Marathon --

Spring has been slowly creeping into Destiny City and though there was doubt that it would happen, spring has finally sprung! Joggers, runners, bikers, even shoppers have taken back to the streets and it’s during this time of year that you start seeing the very first organized marathons! Several charity causes are starting to kick into high gear promoting their events, scrambling for the most advantageous weekends, but one local event has snagged the crowning achievement of First Marathon!

You’ve probably seen the movies, you better have read the books--- it’s the Hunger Games! It seems that this post-apocalyptic, dystopian trilogy has captured the imagination of a local company sponsoring this first race of the year. Boy, is it a doozy! Not only do you have the challenge of an actual foot race, it will also be littered with several obstacle courses and tasks that must be completed over the period of the run itself.

Failing to complete a course results in ‘death’ but don’t worry too much -- nobody will actually be dying today! It’s simply to keep the ‘canon’ of the literature the marathon itself is based upon. The winner, the last one standing, will be the Hunger Games Champion for 2013...the first one ever in Destiny City! They will also win a cash prize along with their bragging rights. That’s incentive, don’t you think?

On the surface this is nothing more than a simplified Spartan Race yet beneath the innocent surface lies something a bit more...interesting. The company hosting this Hunger Games event is actually owned and operated by the Infiltration branch of the Negaverse. Working together with the SpecOps teams they have devised an ingenious recruitment tool so that the most physically able, mentally agile citizens can be singled out to join their organization.

The Event Itself --

This is a TWO PART contest. Part RP/Concept and part game. The race itself will be run as a CYOA style set of prompts, which culminate in eliminations. The WINNER of the CYOA WILL get a character. This is the game element, where the best concept won't necessarily win.

In ADDITION [the concept/rp part], no matter at what point you are eliminated, you have a chance to win your character based off concept and your prompt responses! This is the part we'll be judging. The prompts will all be pre-written, so that they can be posted on time.

The event itself will start Saturday night, at the latest Sunday afternoon (March 9th and 10th). This is when the first interactive race/prompt will be posted and during this time you may still sign up. However once the second prompt is posted, signups will be officially closed and no new entrants may enter the race at this time.

There will be six major obstacles equalling six prompts. You will have 24 hours, or until all contestants in the round respond, to complete each prompt and as soon as one closes, the next one will be posted in a rolling format style. If you do not complete the prompt you will be automatically eliminated.

In the event of multiple people making their way through the CYOA prompts to the end, a “sudden death” dice game will determine the actual winner.

THIS EVENT IS PURELY TO WIN A NEGAVERSE OFFICER.
This means that no regular civilians, senshi [White Moon, DMC, Corrupt] or knights will be rewarded. You are welcome to submit quested civilian that has an attached powered quest that is NOT a Nega quest, however, if you win, you will win your character as an officer of the negaverse, no exceptions.

Sign Ups --

For these sign ups please be aware that we’re going to need at least the civilian portion of our character form filled out in full. It does not have to be stamped but we do need to know who it is you’re playing with! This is the concept portion of the event, combined with how you play them in the CYOA prompt portion.

Please note that while you can enter characters that are not the MOST MACHO or OLYMPIC ATHLETES they should generally be physically fit, interested in being active and athletic, and someone that would actually be running a successful marathon! We’re looking for how you creatively work this condition into your unique character and can’t wait to see what you do with it.

Please feel free to enter with current civilian characters, but be aware that winners will become negaverse officers!

The Rules --

Please respect all the decisions of the staff regarding the contest be it winners, eliminations, or anything you can think of. We’re trying our best to be as fair as we can be to everyone.
No cheating. You can edit your concept profile until sign-ups close, but not after. You may not edit your CYOA posts. Cheating will result in automatic elimination and a customs ban for two months.
Please respect all the players. This is just as important as anything else, we want you all to have a good time here!
If you enter a character in this contest you cannot acquire them through customs until after the event has ended.
Please read everything above and remember that if you do not answer a prompt before the time limit is up, you will be automatically eliminated.
We doubt this will be a problem but would like to remind you all that this is a PG-13 website and event.
