Reading - Sable loves to read. Her favorite things to read are any materials that can teach her something. Or are some kind of informational book. Some examples would be anything from Paleontology to the cultural history of Ancient China to how the internal workings of clocks funciton. With reading comes knowledge and Sable wants to know everything about everything.

Though she does sometimes venture outside that genre of books into the Science Fiction literature. None of that new sparkly vampire stuff or sex em up shapeshifters, no. She prefers fiction books that tell alternate tales of their current world. Like what would happen if Hitler won? Or if robots rose up to rule the human race? Or perhaps what the world would be like if the Renaissance never ended. She believes you don't have to venture far from reality to find intrigue.

Robotics - As far back as she can remember, Sable has always had a fascination with robots and the mechanical. When she was six she had taken apart her speak and spell just to see what the internal workings of the toy looked like. Eventually as she got older Sable began to fall into groups of like minded people who built robots and mechanical gadgets for competitions. She herself had entered many different projects into the competitions, sometimes taking a high place. Though other times were a bit lack luster. She also dabbled a bit in Battle Bots. Where competitors would build robots to fight and win prizes. Though eventually that kind of lost it's thrill.

As she progressed and eventually found herself at DCU her focus on robotics took a more educated turn. Aside from her usual classes Sable works in the electronics labs doing what she loves. Creating robots and mechanical devices to assist or better help with tasks that might be dangerous to humans. Though she's been fiddling with ideas lately on how to create a true AI. She's still figuring out the kinks but one day she'll get there.

Renfair - While her interest in robots leads Sable to an interest in the future, she also has a heavy interest in the past. Specifically the Renaissance period. It was a time of great inventions, philosophy, creativity and ideas. A time where great thinkers like herself were admired and held in awe as people clamored to see their latest creations or hear their thoughts on the world as they knew it. That and the clothes were pretty swanky too.

Over time Sable has collected pieces of Renaissance clothing from varying sources to create outfits. And whenever the Renfair rolls through town she spends the entire month that its here dressing up in her garb and running around the fair grounds, volunteering with the fair to work at booths and draw the mundanes in to see the shows. Its kind of like her once a month every year job and she plays it up.

Virtues:

Quick Thinker - Able to think on her toes, if you give her a problem Sable will try to solve it the best she can. When she processes a situation her brain fires off multitudes of scenarios until she finds the one most fitting. Generally the one that she prefers. Breaking everything down piece by piece, noting almost every little detail to form a calculated plan.

Though sometimes she can be kept on her toes and bumble around a bit. Generally that only happens when a hot person catches her off guard. In a confrontational setting she can pick out many different ways of escaped, run scenarios through her head based on many different factors and how to counter an action an opposing force would make. Sable is a pretty decent strategist.

Tidy - Sable isn't a cleaning nut, but she does like things tidy. Her appearance, her work space, her home. Everything about her is neat and organized. She labels pretty much anything if it could be labeled. Such as the dinners she keeps in her refrigerator, the various folders she has at home and at the labs. Clutter and disorganization just drives her a little batty.

Of course, when it comes to other people Sable will sometimes subconsciously take it upon herself to straighten someone's tie or tidy up their work space so that everything is neatly organized and easily findable. Its gotten her in trouble once or twice since she tends to move things and then apparently people can't find them. Even though she knows she left it out in the open and she knows where it is. She really just has no concept of other people's personal space when it comes to disorganization and feels it is her duty to help others realize that if they just kept everything neat and labeled they would never loose anything.

Good Listener - Sable prefers listening more than talking. When your mouth is flapping away sometimes you miss important details. Especially when someone is trying to give you instructions about things.

Though a lot of the time she finds herself listening to other people's problems mostly. Which, she doesn't really mind. If she can listen and perhaps give her own diagnostic on the situation all the better. Though sometimes when people are upset her opinion about the situation doesn't matter as much as just being an open ear for them to chatter away at. When you talk to her she will give you her full attention, even if she is in the middle of something important. No matter how insignificant what you have to say may be to her she will listen.

Flaws:

Timid - Approaching people she doesn't know is something that she really has a hard time with. But if its absolutely necessary she will bite the bullet and approach them. Even if her words come out in a whisper or she talks really fast and the person can hear them so she has to repeat herself.

Sable dislikes confrontation. Fighting just isn't a thing she enjoys but she will if she's pushed to. But it has to take a lot of pushing. She would more than likely just let herself take a bunch of punches than fight back or hide. Unless it really threatened her life you can basically say she is a walking doormat for physical and emotional abuse from other people.

Loud noises or sudden surprises startle her. She hates being snuck up on, which honestly tends to happen more often than not because she doesn't pay much attention to the people being busy around her and lost in her own thoughts.

Disconnected - Sable has a hard time connecting with people and the world around her. It just seems as though perhaps she is the weird one. Living in her own thoughts most of the time when she's not made to socialize with other people.

A lot of it comes from her developing a survival mechanism over the years as she went through school. Sable never had any real good friends and was constantly picked on by school mates, so she never developed those connections or bonds will fellow peers in fear that they would hurt her. Its a protective shell to keep herself from being hurt by others.

Don't get too close with this person or these events and they cannot hurt you. Don't invest too much time into this relationship the person will just leave you. It also stems to her colleagues and even family members as well. Many times she's heard whispering about how some people thought she was stuck up and how she thought she was better than everyone else. Her parents, like her, were more intellectual than emotional. Focusing more on her academics than nurturing an emotionally appropriate child.

Door Mat - More often than not, Sable lets herself get walked on by people. Be it complete strangers or people she knows. She's very passive, especially if it keeps her from getting into anything confrontational.

Cut her in line she wouldn't say a thing about it. If someone was angry and they took it out on her she would justify somehow that she probably deserved it. Trying to get her to agree with you is easy enough, while she may not totally agree with whatever it is Sable will agree just so it doesn't end up in a shouting match or harsh words.

Being this way has certainly left a mark upon her in the relationship area. The one relationship she's ever had turned sour. Sable doesn't do much in the way of dating anymore because of it.
