timeerkat's ultimate kaylee breedables cosplay not-a-quest quest!

"sure. yeah. i think so. 'sides, if i mess up, not like you'll be able to yell at me."
i have recently become infatuated with the show firefly...so horribly infatuated with the goodness of firefly...well, i've decided that i want several pets cosplayed as my favorite character from the series, kaylee. hey, why not mix my newest obsession with an older obsession and make an uber obsession? biggrin
at first this was just a journal entry for my own personal information, but i decided to move it to thread form for three reasons:
~ it's much quicker and easier for me to reference/edit/etc a thread than a journal entry
~ i like to keep my journal for pets i currently own so i can keep track of their growth
~ so i can network amongst other gaian firefly (especially kaylee) fans and have a place to talk about the sheer majesty that is firefly (and joss wheden's other shows).

not-a-quest?

yep, you heard it right. biggrin well, i guess technically it is a quest in the fact that it's something i'm going after and devoting pretty much all my spareable resources towards. but i like to call it not-a-quest in the fact that it's not like your traditional gaian quest where the questor asks people to donate towards it. don't get me wrong, i have quested before and i love all the supporters and donators from all my prevous quests. 3nodding
note - while donations are neither expected or asked for, i do appreciate any help given towards my not-a-quest quest (in the form of reference images, conversation about firefly/kaylee, quest banners, linking in your signature, etc).
if you really really want to help me monetarily, i would be happy to oblige you with equal payment from one of my two breedables shops (clearly canadian and serial pasage). 3nodding

kaylee basics

name: kaywinnet lee frye
nicknames: kaylee, mei mei (little sister)
job: ship's mechanic and unofficial decorator (her bunk's door and the kitchen)
age: roughly 20
personality: perpetually cheerful and bubbly except when thrown into a crisis, where she usually freezes. finds the bright side to everything and describes most good things as "shiny". straight-to-the-point, she gets annoyed with people who feel the need to act "proper" or put on a front, especially in the "wild west" of their area of the 'verse. tends to curse in chinese...a lot. a natural mechanic, she has the ability to seemingly talk with machines (she got her job on serenity by fixing its engine which she had never seen before). survived a gunshot wound to her abdomen (lawrence dobson) and poisoned darts (reavers). is viewed by most people on the ship as their little sister, but has their full respect with anything mechanical. don't mess with her crew, and don't dare mess with her baby, serenity. loves strawberries and fluffy pink dresses. wishes simon would stop putting his foot it his mouth and just kiss her, already!
appearance: (i know she has several outfits, but my favorite and what i want my cosplays to wear is as follows) she wears sleeveless, ankle-length olive green coveralls with pockets on her right chest and both front thighs, an embroidered tan teddy bear on the left knee and an embroidered blue flower on the waist. she wears a flowery pink 3/4 sleeve shirt underneath. dark brown work boots. grease or dirt smudges on her nose and face. shoulder length wavy/curly brown hair. brown eyes. big smile. the necklace may be omitted.

if anyone has more/better reference images of kaylee in this outfit i will be extremely grateful. she wears this full outfit in the epsisode "out of gas" and the same one but shorter sleeves in "bushwhacked", but her coveralls are in many episodes.

pure and items with item value coming from the very lowest vend price. while most breedables shop owners value items at mid-tektek, i like to price my items at low marketplace since i usually try to sell off my letters and items and use as much pure in my transactions as i can.
*new* in cases where there are no marketplace vales for a specific item (i.e. the event items from 2k4) i will use the tektek price; anytime tektek value is used rather than marketplace i will note next to the item.
*also* in cases where the combined total of all items of the same type is less than 250 gold (.25k) i will mark it at 0k gold. when the combined price raises to at least 250 gold, i will mark it at its closest .25k mark.

thanks lenta! after kaylee, my (close) second favorite is tied between wash and book, with jayne being a close third. xd the problem with a great ensemble cast is that, well, everyone's great, and it's really hard to pick favorites.
