 Name: Anise Viator Age: 18 Gender: female Profession: healer Personality: A little shy, since she spends much of her time wandering with only pokemon for company, but quite friendly when in the company of other people. Always willing to help in any way she can. Tries to resolve any encounters with pokemon as peacefully as possible, and is almost useless in battle. History: Hasn't talked much about her past yet, aside from one incident in her childhood. When she was young a childhood friend of hers had a Growlithe she loved playing with, but was challenged to a battle and mortally wounded. She became afraid of battling and wanted to help injured pokemon in need. Since arriving in Zatao, she's mostly been traveling in the wild, helping passing trainers and any injured or sick pokemon she comes across. A few times she's joined expeditions to various areas so she could help tend to the injuries of all the trainers' pokemon. Skills:Skilled at using medicinal plants and finding them in the wild. She usually has a full stock of natural medicines, but sometimes has a few man-made ones just in case, especially during winter when the right kinds of plants can be scarce. Obtained: Anise caught her in a swarm of thieving Swablus on a trip with a caravan to Motterossa.
Personality: Is a bit distractible, especially when shiny things are around. She has a tendency to try to grab and hoard any shiny things she finds, though since her trainer is on the move she rarely has any place to put them.

Obtained: When a lonely Jirachi turned Katarina into a dream world with no humans, this Zorua had helped the trapped people figure out what Jirachi really wanted and how to help it. This Zorua chose to join Anise, who he felt had the empathy and compassion to understand the Jirachi's feelings and try to help.
Personality: Typically solemn and slightly aloof in bearing, but determined to protect those he cares for.
Special Ability: Illusion
Can appear to take the form of a pokemon or human. Can only create the illusion of pokemon he has seen. (Oki can have a bit of (reasonable) flexibility though since he's pretty old and must have seen a lot of pokemon before, especially from Unova).) Only the appearance is assumed size/whatever doesn't matter, and he can't use any of their attacks because it is only an illusion. Possibly can make an illusion of an attack, though it won't hurt. He can also take the form of a human, usually a child, but it won't be able to speak. In the illusions, he also won't be able to say the sounds that the normal pokemon says.

Obtained: Started following Anise around. (mewrose got her in the Wintersensory poketoy battles)
Personality: Motherly, always looking out for the health and safety of everyone around her, especially the ones she cares about.
History:
This Blitzle was born in the wild, cared for by a her mother until she was a half-grown foal. Then she grew very sick and her mother was unable to help. Just when the mother had given up hope and left, a wise old Zebstrika found the foal and gave her some plants that cured her illness.
The little Blitzle was fascinated, and tagged after the old Zebstrika when she left. She watched and pestered, wanting to know how to find the plants and what they did, until she also learned to find and use healing plants. When she was fully grown and the elder finally pushed her away to live on her own, she took to wandering and healing needy pokemon, just like her mentor.
One day while traveling through a forest, she found a sick Vulpix and knew just the plant to cure it, though it wasn't nearby and the Vulpix was too sick to come with her to look for it. She told the vulpix to sit and rest while she went and fetched it. It took some time to find the plant, and when she headed back to the Vulpix she heard something unusual as she got near. It sounded like pokemon quietly using Sing and the murmur of a human voice. She carefully approached the spot and peeked out from behind some bushes to find a human kneeling by the Vulpix with three other pokemon around her. A Zorua was sitting quietly by, while a Delcatty and a Swablu were singing a soothing song. The human was also talking soothingly, and instead of trying to catch the Vulpix, like the Blitzle expected, she was pulling out plants and water from a bag. They happened to the the exact plant that the Blitzle had found, though the leaves were older and dried.
She watched the human crush the leaves and mix them with water, and realized that the human telling the Vulpix that she was making a medicine. The Blitzle hadn't heard that a human would do this sort of thing for wild pokemon. She didn't want to waste the plants she'd found, and thought that fresh ones would be more useful than dried, so after a moment's though she trotted into the human's view, dropped the leaves at her feet and walked away. She caught a look at the human's startled face as she turned away, and immediately after the human called out a thanks for the plant. She went back to watching from her hiding place and saw the human mixing up a new batch of medicine with the fresh leaves. Then she coaxing the Vulpix to eat it by putting it on a bit of meat and getting her pokemon to help urge the Vulpix to eat.
The Blitzle was fascinated by this human and took to following her around, discreetly watching as the human found plants, tucked them in her bag (that seemed far more useful than having to find the plant each time you needed it) and treated any hurt or sick pokemon she came across. Her pokemon seemed to like her very much, were allowed to wander as they liked, and she never called them into one of those ball things the Blitzle had heard about.
After a couple days the Blitzle got a stone caught in her hoof. This had happened before, and she tried to work it loose in just about every way she could think of. It was rather stuck though, and getting more painful by the moment. She had a couple more ideas to try, but she instead decided to see what the human would do. So when the human was stopped for a rest, she walked right up to the girl and held out the injured hoof.
To her surprise, the girl said, "You're the Blitzle that gave me the leaves yesterday, aren't you? Thanks again for that, I was running out and hadn't found more yet." She hadn't expected to be recognized, though after seeing how the human treated her pokemon, she wasn't surprised at being talked to as an equal.
"I'm going to assume that you're asking for help and won't try to hurt me if I touch you," the girl added with a smile and reached slowly for the hoof. The Blitzle made no move, so the girl carefully pulled the hoof toward her and examined it. Her hands were gentle as she ran them over the foot, and she quickly found the stone. "That's stuck in good?" she said conversationally as she tugged lightly at the stone. "This might pinch just a little bit more, but we'll get the pebble out." She pulled a small bit of flat metal from her bag, which she used to poke and pry at the stone until it fell loose. Then the girl washed the place where the stone had been and took a close look at it. "Doesn't look like any bleeding, so you should be fine in no time. If it's sore, try standing in a cool stream for a while." She put the fixed foot on the ground and patted the Blitzle lightly on the shoulder.
Instead of wandering off, as the human probably expected the Blitzle stuck around and grazed nearby. When the human and her pokemon moved on, the Blitzle followed. The human was surprised once again, but treated her exactly the same as all the other pokemon with her. She even offered the Blitzle food next time they stopped to rest.
The Blitzle found she liked this healer woman, who was called Anise. Anise started calling the Blitzle Gypsy, though the explanation why (something about a mysterious traveler with unusual skills) didn't make sense to her. Without asking, she adopted Anise as her human. Or a "trainer," as she'd heard it called, though the only thing she was trained in was the finer points of natural medicine.
Skills: talented in finding berries and plants that are useful for healing. Often helps Anise look for them; she has quickly learned to recognize the ones that Anise uses which she was not familiar with, and has even taught Anise a few new ones.

 Name: Kwatoko Gender: male Type: Battle Coloration: Shiny/Color Variation Obtained: Previous trainer left him with Anise (mewrose won him in a rehoming event) Personality: History: When Anise joined a traveling caravan led by the future Gym Leader Shina, she met Kwatoko's previous trainer. It turned both she and the other trainer were healers who used natural remedies, so they found they had a lot in common. During the trip they enjoyed the chance to compare methods and remedies, and share with each other plants or uses for them that one or the other may not have known before. Kwatoko had often helped the reainer with gathering and preparing plants, and was pleased to find that Anise's Zebstrika Gypsy was also and accomplished healer in her own right. The healer trainers and pokemon traveled and worked together often during the trip, and Kwatoko got to know them well, along with Anise's other pokemon. Kwatoko admired Gypsy the most. She was intelligent, patient, caring, knew the limits of what she, as a hooved pokemon, could accomplish as far as medical preparations, and was not too proud to ask help from someone who would be better suited to treat a particular patient or perform a certain task. Kwatoko often assisted her, since he could understand her far more easily than their trainers, and his claws hands could gather and manipulate plants and items fare more easily and accurately than she could. He also admired Anise's other pokemon for their particular talents; Okikurumi for his attentive watchfulness and skill in battle, Felix for his loyalty and soothing bedside manner, and although Kwatoko found Halcyon a bit flighty he thought the Altaria was at least cheerful and happy to help if called on. But it was Gypsy he admired most, and the two pokemon soon spent the majority of their time together. By the time the caravan disbanded, the trainers and pokemon were good friends. Kwatoko and Gypsy in particular had grown quite close, and when faced with the idea of the two trainers parting, the two pokemon found they were rather saddened by the prospect of not seeing each other any more. Kwatoko's trainer noticed this, and although he had been wanting to travel on his own again, he offered to travel with Anise for a time, which cheered the pokemon right up. If possible, the Kwatoko and Gypsy spent even more time together now that they didn't have various aspects of caravan life to attend to. Their growing attraction soon became obvious to all, including the other trainer. This put him in a rather difficult position; he didn't want to travel with Anise forever, but he didn't want to subject his pokemon friend to the heartbreak of parting from Gypsy. He also didn't want to leave his pokemon, who was a friend to him, but finally decided his sadness at leaving Kwatoko would pale in comparison to Kwatoko having to leave Gypsy. So he offered to leave Kwatoko in Anise's care and explained his reasoning. Kwatoko initially was surprised and a little saddened that his trainer wanted to leave him behind, but as the young man explained himself Kwatoko understood and appreciated his friend's thoughtfulness. So although the idea of leaving his old trainer was bittersweet, he agreed to the idea.
