History: This Chatot's egg was laid by two Chatot owned by a pokemon breeder in Shinoh, and before he was hatched he'd been sold to a young woman. She hatched the egg, named the baby Gabby, and raised him for a short time, including teaching him to mimic words and learn to speak a number of human phrases. Then she sent him as a gift to her friend Anise Viator, who was a traveling healer in the new land of Zatao. As the young woman told her healer friend, "With all the wandering in the wild you do, you ought to at least have someone who can talk to you!" Anise did enjoy listening to the bird parrot back words at her, and taught him to sing in chorus with her other pokemon.
During the Jirachi incident, all of Anise's pokemon had been left outside of the fog surrounding Katarina. Anise's other pokemon, Felix the Delcatty and Halcyon the Swablu, went into the mist to find her but never came out. Gabby decided to stay outside and wait. There he got his first taste of freedom, since he'd been living with humans all his life. It was hard at first to find food, shelter and avoid any pokemon that would do him harm. But a passing Pidgeotto took pity for the young Chatot and took him under her wing, teaching him how to survive. Then he found he liked the challenge and freedom of it. Anise was very nice and didn't make him do anything he didn't want to, but it wasn't the same as being able to go anywhere, do anything, any time you wanted.
When the fog disappeared and Anise and her pokemon emerged from the museum, Gabby did fly back to her and tried staying with her for a time. But it just didn't seem right any more. He let her know that he wanted to be free, and since she would never keep any pokemon that wished to leave, she let him go gladly. He then lived mostly in Katarina as a wild bird. But whenever Anise does find herself in Katarina, he often visits her just to say hello. She is a very nice person, after all. Besides, she always feeds him.
After a while he started to wander farther off, and eventually found himself in Seance Valley where he found a Mew who was starting up a place for pokemon to gather. So he made that his home roost instead, and is settling in.

Personality: Gabbie's a handsome fellow and a bit vain; his favorite phrase is "Pretty bird," and he knows what it means. He enjoys mimicking the calls of different pokemon, and knows an increasing repertoire of human phrases. He loves to hear the sound of his own voice and will sometimes chatter around mimicking random pokemon calls.
