Name: Desma Heisse Mira Kellogg
Nickname: Des, Dezzy Age: 17 18 19 20 21 22
Birthday: October 15th
Sign: Libra
Gemstone: Opal
Blood Type: AB +
Fav. Food: Graham crackers, fast meals
Hated Food: Meats on the bone, gross!
School: St Magdalena's Seminary Graduated
Occupation: Unemployed
Hobbies: American Pop Culture Fanatic – The Simpsons, the X-files, Weird Barbie Collection, she loves many things “90s” and American. Desma enjoys collecting odd paraphernalia from weird American fads (she had a vast pogs collection. Stretch Armstrong Reissue? Got to have one or five!) Recently not able to purchase things, money is tight, but she still prides herself on her collection
Television addiction – Dez just loves watching the boob tube, doesn’t matter the channel or content she will sit down and be mesmerized by the stupid box for hours. She used television as a crutch to not have to interact with others, her therapist wants her to keep the television off and to find friends. (also just not an easy hobby to convey/rp with others)
Jogging: Desma spent a year living on a farm upstate with her aunt, mucking stalls, getting up at the butt crack of dawn, and they did not have a television and she wasn't able to keep up with her shows. She was considerably over weight before, but all of the work helped her to shed the pounds. She does not work out to become attractive/become fit/trim/be a better senshi, but as a form of physical meditation to clear her mind.
Gardening: She found working with her aunt gave her piece of mind, she's converted the tiny back yard of her house into a small garden. It reminds her of good times, and helps when the blues start creeping in. She can be seen at the hardware store eyeing seedlings and him hawing over the value of a new shovel or lawn gadget.
Virtues: Independent (double-sided): Desma likes to do things her own way, she likes to make her own meals (they're by no means good, or complicated), carry her own weight, and rely solely on herself. Coming from a single parent home has strengthened her need to be independent and forge her own way in the world.
Good Sense of Humor: Desma loves irony and dry humor, physical comedy in her book is pure gold (an example would be owning many episodes of the Three Stooges). Her jokes are a bit dated and often filled with odd references. Her jokes can be used as an ice breaker or to help herself/others make light of a rough situation. She's also a talker during battle, good to kill time, because her attack can't really do much besides stave off the enemy.
Patience: Able to endure the meanest of jeers, the stupidest of lazy customers (when she was employed), and people who just don’t understand. She’s not quick to anger and will bear the brunt of a lot of abuse and still act like nothing is bothering her. She's tolerant of what comes her way because she realizes she can't change things and doesn't have much control one way or the other. Sometimes things can eat at her, but she tries to let herself escape into
teevee land jogging or gardening.
Flaws: Socially Awkward (other side of independent): The feeling that she doesn’t need to rely on anyone has merged into the inability to relate to others on a personal level. She’s not anti-social; she just has a hard time making and keeping friends. Her jokes are generally pretty childish, and she’s not current on fashion. Dezzy would prefer to have friends and people to talk to. But seeing as she hasn't found the Monica to her Rachel... or the Joey to her Chandler it just hasn't happened for her yet. She hasn't put forth much of an effort to find a good friend, maybe with the right pushing she could.
Insecure: Not quite feeling right in her own skin, Desma is very insecure and awkward about her body. She tries to overcompensate for her inner feelings of worthlessness by changing her outward appearance. Her insecurities hinder her from trying out for sports, plays, and social activities.
Pessimist: Constantly seeing the glass as half empty, nothing can change this outlook. Being uprooted, men skipping out on her mom, bad s**t happening to good people. How can there really be wonderful things in the world if there are just as many bad things to counter act them? This leads to a lot of bitter conversations with her mother, and she wouldn't be above sharing them with people around her. If you're looking for someone to cheer you up and tell you the world is just like on the Smurfs, look for someone else.
