“I am the successor, not of Louis XVI, but of Charlemagne.”
Name: Giselle Petrova
Nicknames: Tate is allowed to call her Zell. She is the only one, however.
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Birthday: September 29th
Sign: Libra
Fav. Food: Blood oranges, cold fruit soup, and goat cheese
Hated Food: Spaghetti and meatballs, watermelon, and hamburgers
Hobbies:
Hand of God -- Age of Empires, Civilization IV, you name it. Giselle loves the ability to build her own (and destroy other) empires. It certainly lends itself to a lot of time on the computer and tends to be detrimental to a social life...good thing Giselle never have one, anyways!
Making Lists -- Someone really shouldn't enjoy being organized this much, but...be it by hand or on her computer, Giselle makes and remakes lists daily. To-do, things that are down, orderly time tables of how to get things done...let no one say Giselle Petrova will ever forget anything!
School Assignments -- Perhaps not a hobby so much as a burning passion. Giselle is all about maintaining her 4.0, so if that means staying up and checking and rechecking that project four times before sleeping, so be it. A week of working out every math assignment in the book before the exam? Fine, she'll do it, willingly.
Virtues:
Everything in it‘s place -- Everything has a place, and everything is always in that place. Giselle is a planner and nothing foils a plan quicker than disorganization. Not about to fall into that trap, thank you very much, Giselle has everything labeled, color-coded and put away as soon as she’s finished with it. She owns a calendar and a day book, makes lists in her free time and makes sure everything is programmed into her cell phone. If there’s anyone more organized that Giselle, she dares you to find them.
It isn’t over until I say it’s over -- Once Giselle starts, she does not stop until the race is over. She presses her advantages, calls in her favors, and uses all your weaknesses to the best of her ability. She can do anything she puts her mind to and trying to tell her otherwise is only an exercise in futility. The only one who decides for Giselle Petrova is Giselle Petrova, damnit.
Those who do not know history are bound to repeat it -- Plans fall hand in hand with strategies. If you think anything Giselle does is just ‘on a whim’, you had better think again. There are always ulterior motives, plans, back-up plans, what-ifs, you name it. A major fan of history (particularly wars and takeovers), Giselle knows a thing about strategies and how to employ them, alright?
Flaws:
“France has need of me far more than I have need France.” -- Let’s make one thing clear: Giselle is better than you are. First impressions are everything to her and as soon as it’s made, it’s very difficult to change her mind. She’s quick to judge, and trust me, her judgments are anything but kind. She almost always feels as though she is the shepherd to the hopeless flock; what would they ever do without her?
“If you want a thing done well, do it yourself.” -- Words to live by. Calling Giselle bossy would be an understatement; tyrant would be a much more appropriate title. She knows what’s best, she knows how to get it done and she isn’t about to give away her seat of power, either. She likes to be in control and often preaches what she does is for your own good. The worst part? When she’s right, and she often is, she’s anything but gracious about it.
Was that a challenge? -- Giselle will have you know that was a very stupid decision. Anything you can do, she can do ten times more efficiently. Does she put herself on a pedestal? Why yes, yes she does. As far as she is concerned, no one can touch her. She is positive that her knowledge will get her anywhere she wants to go in life. Why isn’t she there yet? Well, that would require the idiots to sit up and take notice of what was going on, now, wouldn’t it?
I spend my evenings playing Civilization -- She works with allies, not friends. Friends are something close, people who know her and care about her. Childhood led Giselle to live without obvious displays of affection; when she is confronted with it, physical or otherwise, she is left without an appropriate response. It’s very obvious how uneasy it makes her, and as a result, she tends to try and avoid situations like that as a whole. Not only does it blow any chance she has at a social life, it also makes her life as a Senshi rather difficult, especially where the Zodiac are such a tightly knit group. It borders on an inability to understand, but you know that could never happen to Giselle. When she is forced to confront a situation in which she is the center of attention, she will attempt to rectify the situation and bring the relationship back to its previous state. If that fails, Giselle will retreat and abandon it all together in an attempt to get away from the discomfort.
Her shows of affection are quiet and almost invisible; you have to know Giselle very well to understand when she is implying that she might care about you…just a little bit.

“I love power. But it is as an artist that I love it. I love it as a musician loves his violin, to draw out its sounds and chords and harmonies.”
Senshi: Sailor Libra, Senshi of Balance
Challenge: I am Sailor Libra, and I will tip the balance of power!
Attack 1: Power Equilibrium -- Libra can choose one foe to balance out -- the foe's power is balanced to that of herself, either weakening it or strengthening Libra. The power is reckoned in terms of magical power, strength, speed, etc. It lasts for about a minute and is only effective if the foe is stronger than Libra herself.
Attack 1a: ???
Attack 2: ???
Libra: Libra is the seventh sign in the Western zodiac and the only sign to be identified by an inanimate object, known as “the scales”. Libra is concerned to be “masculine” and a positive air sign. It is also one of the four cardinal signs along with Aries, Capricorn, and Cancer. Libra is ruled by the planet Venus. As the seventh sign, it is associated with the seventh house.
It is compatible with the other “airy” elements, Aquarius, Gemini and itself. Libra’s duration is roughly September 23 to October 22; the Sun enters Libra the moment of the fall equinox.

“A strong man is the one who is able to intercept at will the communication between the senses and the mind.”
Nestor Petrova
Giselle's father. He's a layabout with an antique shop, a habit of tinkering with old things, and a lot of knowledge about history. Since Giselle was a toddler, he treated her like she was going to be everything he would be, had he but the motivation. He continues to live vicariously through her and expect her to do better than the best, to defeat everyone or go down trying. Giselle was raised to view him as the Source Of All That Is True And Just, and constantly seeks his approval. Whether consciously or not, she appears to ignore the fact that though his words are fine, he himself has not made his life into anything that merits much.
Katherine Petrova
Giselle's mother. Unlike her father, her attempts to influence Giselle's life stopped when Giselle quit ballet classes. She's quiet and sensible and has a job as a florist that makes most of the family's income. Both her husband and her daughter are passionate people, prone to rapid moodswings and occasional deep sulks, but she keeps the peace in the household and keeps it running smoothly. She's a very passive person as opposed to her husband, who is aggressive as long as it does not require too much long term effort. She's the grounding force in Giselle's life and has taught her to cook, reminds her to eat regular meals, and helps pick up the pieces when Giselle is emotionally distressed. Unlike her father, who will give her firey speeches and passionate propaganda at the best of times, and a solemn-faced war council at the worst, her mother is usually the one who offers Giselle calm, rational advice about everyday issues. Please Note: Nestor and Katherine have been taken directly from Libra's original journal, written by kotaline.

“Soldiers generally win battles; generals get credit for them.”
ITNOTM belongs to rosemilk and Natsube, as does all the art. Banners were done by Chibi Sheepcat. Giselle's original character concept was created by kotaline, as were her parents. From April 10th, 2010 onward, Giselle/Sailor Libra belongs to soutou. There was blatant abuse of Wikipedia for the Libra zodiac sign information. All quotes come from Napoleon Bonaparte.
Thank you!
