Slaking (#289)
NU Tier

Art:
Is it the missing link? Or maybe so weird mix with a mankey (the nose!) I kinda like Slaking's art, just not the Sexy-laying down pose. Not much to say other than a fairly obvious pun for a name. King of Slacking off, oh yeah.
6.5/10

Casual:
OK, honestly. Who else didn't know about Slakings TERRIBLE (Maybe the worst? Tied with Regigigas atleast) ability. And when Vigoroth evolved, you went. "OH badass" only to find out that EVERY SECOND TURN. IT DOES NOTHING. Still, it does have redeeming factors, good stats (150 HP, 160 Attack). Good movepool.
2.5/10

Competitive:
Due to Slaking's effect, it's down to the NU tier. Like I said above, good stats, good movepool.Throw a Choice item, and basically OHKO anything non-resist.

Slaking is one of the poke's that when countered do nothing.
Protect on the turn Slaking gets to move, and attack on the other. D: Still, leave Slaking alone. And it could easily wreck your NU team.

The ability is what keeps me away from Slaking. I hope they at least give it a second ability in the new generation.

Along with the sexy-laying down pose, it can really ruin a team. It's special ability allows it to be more vulnerable to anything. I would never use a Slaking on my team, even if it does have some redeeming factors.

What strikes me as hilarious is that Slaking actually makes a fairly decent late-game revenge killer/sweeper, if you wait for the Protect-spamming glass cannons to leave the field. Provided you're playing NU/UU, of course. Playing him in OU is technically plausible, but definitely not recommended.

A Leftovers-boasting Slaking with Slack Off and Giga Impact is surprisingly effective, provided that you have Toxic Spikes support. With this, you're allowing Slaking to either stall with his massive HP score (and adequate defenses) or smash its opponent with a 225 base attack power move from his huge Attack score. Leaving him for the LAST Pokémon- rather than the first- is technically plausible.

Choice Slaking as a final ace in the hole is always risky, but it will punch holes in just about anything.

I actually hate using Slaking, but I love the NU tier. rofl
