 Post 3[ ! ] - Note that I have classes on Tuesday through Friday until March 24th. Don't expect me to be online at all during those days unless I don't have anything to work on. I will post stating if I am working on midterms and finals as well, but dates are unknown at the moment for those...: Current Update: August 28th, 2011 :..Note, I decided to "abridge" the updates, seeing as this post would have gotten extremely long with time. "Current update" refers to when things were last tweaked on this journal, however, no matter how small!..: Past Updates :.. • August 22nd, 2010 - Nina grows to preteen!• April 1st, 2010 - Nina is adopted by Ephron!

This thread is reserved mainly as a place to keep track of all of Nina and Ephron's information.  Post 5 • Name: Nina Falco • Name Meaning: Many origins, most prominently from the Spanish "niña," meaning "little girl," but can also mean "fire" in Quechua • Gender: Female • Age: Preteen (approx. 12-14) • Sexuality/Status: Unknown • Height: Rather short, even for her age • Weight: Much heavier than average, due to her unique attributes • Sin: Revenge • Virtue: Hope • Personality: Nina has grown much more withdrawn as of late, putting up her defenses when faced with a new acquaintance as opposed to her cheery curiosity as a child. She is fiercely protective of those that earn her trust, however, and she has a habit of losing herself when she feels they may be in danger. Her demonic genes have been increasing in power much more quickly than before, warping her angelic genes and sense of hope in general as well as, on occasion, those around her. She is prone to falling prey to her rage at the drop of a hat if she feels too uncomfortable, but her curiosity has led her to develop an extremely sharp intelligence. Even when bitter, she can often find a way through any scenario by manipulating her stress and panic. • Likes: She has found that silence and music are climbing rather high on her list of things she enjoys, mainly due to her increasing exposure to them. She likes pulling pranks at times as well, but this tick of hers is usually only enacted when she's "paying someone back." She also enjoys putting her creativity to use, most prominently evident in word games, manipulation of events, and curiosity. She has gained an increasing interest in brawling as well, but this is mainly only evident when she practices by herself in the back yard. • Dislikes: Loud noises and sudden movements tend to irritate her, and extreme hyperactivity can make her angry if she isn't careful about her emotions. She hates major changes with a passion, ones that continuously affect or are brought up in everyday life, as well as those that affect those close to her (even if temporary). She has grown an increasing fear of thunderstorms, not because they're scary in themselves but rather because bad things tend to happen in the midst of them. For some odd reason, she also hates egg noodles and large dogs. • Other Quirks: Nina has an unusually high internal body temperature, most likely due to her compact build. This makes it next to impossible for her to wear heavy clothing outside of a blizzard. She is left-handed, particularly out of necessity for not accidentally tearing up the pages she writes on with her talons. Partly in an attempt to mask her genes' dangerousness and partly to insert her own morbid sense of humor into a conversation, she likes to say that she is the product of the sin "Karma" and virtue "Optimism." She also appears to be allergic to yellow food dye (tartrazine, to be precise). • Abilities: -- Magically attuned: Although she doesn't have the greatest grasp on this skill yet, she is able to learn magic with relative ease as well as manipulate some forms of minor magic. Despite this, she hasn't had any formal training, so it is "played by ear." -- Poisonous talons: The claws on Nina's right hand can emit poisons, but as of yet, she has never used this ability. Therefore, the effect this poison has on others remains unknown for now. -- Mystical wings: She can summon and disperse her wings at will.  Post 6 • Name: Ephron Falco • Name Meaning: "Bird" in Hebrew; his surname is Italian for "falcon," referring to his falconer heritage • Gender: Male • Age: Early to mid-20's • Sexuality/Status: Uhh... asexual? (Unknown; single) • Height: 5'8" • Weight: Light for his height and age, but his thick clothing makes him much heavier • Specie: Human • Occupation: Merchant • Personality: Ephron's demeanor is not so much that of a sequestered individual, but he has an unbelievable amount of patience that is paired with very few spoken words. He doesn't talk much, but more often than not, there is no actual need to express himself in words over nonverbal communication. His actions are prone to misunderstanding unless one is able to realize that he very rarely dislikes anyone. • Likes: He likes to travel, though lately this hobby hasn't seemed to grab his attention as much (at least over long distances). He likes small crafts such as beading, and enjoys to read a good book when he's got the chance. Although he also likes solitude every once in a while, too much of it can grind on his nerves, and he may find himself feeling a little social. He loves getting out and doing things, but will always put others' wishes above his own. Not that this was ever a problem -- he's a very open individual when it comes to trying something new! • Dislikes: When people use violence, as he has never found a situation where there was no other way around it. He dislikes it when there is nothing he can do to help someone out, or when his "helping" actually makes things worse. Although it is more of an irritant than anything else, he also dislikes being underestimated as a "pacifist." He also does not like mushrooms, which is something that Nina takes pleasure in teasing him about on occasion. • Abilities: For someone who took to caring for Nina, he's not very powerful. He hasn't a drop of any magical prowess in his body and, let's face it, he's extremely weak strength-wise as well. He uses his intelligence and way with words to get around most of these shortcomings, but he also has a very firm will. If he feels that he is needed, he won't hesitate to jump in to lend a hand, something which can unfortunately be manipulated as a weakness. • History: Ephron doesn't have a very extravagant past -- in fact, it's rather dull. He grew up in a loving home with supportive parents in a good neighborhood. They weren't the best off, financially-speaking, but they were able to scrape up enough to get by while still living comfortably. His father was employed as a construction worker, maneuvering the heavy equipment, while his mother preferred the title of "stay-at-home mother." He was an only child, but was never lonely because he always felt accepted and loved, no matter what he did. Later on in life, only about six years ago, Ephron's mother fell ill of cancer. It was caught in an advanced stage of progression, and treatment was difficult as well as expensive to undergo. She died not long after the prognosis, leaving a lasting scar on Ephron's heart. Ephron and his father became distant after that, but were never exactly on bad terms. He developed a passion for travel, particularly on foot, and began doing so after deciding that he couldn't keep coming home to an empty house. His father had the support of the other employees at work, but Ephron was so reclusive that he couldn't rely on the help of friends to help him through tough times. Preoccupying himself with a hobby seemed the best way to get over the devastation. Funding mainly came from merchantry, which supported an increase in his ability to appraise items, buying them cheap and reselling them in other towns for a decently higher price. Lately, travel hasn't seemed to appeal to him as much as it once had. He attributes this to a certain release of the tightly-held memories of his mother, but never to a forgotten anamnesis -- more of a peace of mind.

 Post 7 (Image coming later)• Name: Benjamin Falco • Age: Late 40's • Height: 6' 2" • Weight: Heavy-set due to strong musculature, causing him to weigh more (though nothing surprising) • Specie: Human • Occupation: Construction worker / drafter • Relation: Ephron's father / Nina's "grandfather" • Personality Notes: With the death of his wife, Ben became socially withdrawn. Eventually turning into a work-a-holic in his depression, he ended up unintentionally neglecting his son, who had a social stigma to begin with. Although he hadn't noticed this turn of events until his son had already left home, he has been trying to come back into his role as the father figure. Due to Ephron being the only close blood relative still alive, his outlook has turned more protective of the boy, bordering on possessive. With the time he has had to himself, superstition took root and now plays heavily in his actions. Despite being in the construction business (and proud of it), he has some remarkably shady ties.

Nina still holds Ella in high regards, and will probably always consider her a sister. First Seen: Child ( Ella) / Toddler ( Nina) || Last Seen: Child ( Ella) / Toddler ( Nina) -- Not RPed  - Gabriel - Although Nina has determined that he was obnoxiously noisy, she doesn't have any real qualms with him. After all, he helped pick out a very nice necklace! First Seen: Toddler ( Gabriel) / Child ( Nina) || Last Seen: Toddler ( Gabriel) / Child ( Nina)  - Damien - Being one of her first real friends once outside the facility borders, he helped a great deal in getting her to look at the bright side of things, and the beauty of things that are often overlooked. First Seen: Toddler ( Damien) / Child ( Nina) || Last Seen: Child ( Damien) / Preteen ( Nina)  - Ilyrosa - The two of them have gone through a lot together, good and bad. Out of anyone else, Nina is the most attached to Rosa, and would probably help her out with anything, no hesitation. First Seen: Child ( both) || Last Seen: Preteen ( both)  - Bleez - Met briefly during Nina's parent meeting, Bleez got Nina interested in researching more than just what was immediately around her, with Bleez's interest in the prehistoric. However, she'd probably have to pay him a little vengeance for angering Ilyrosa in the same meeting, just to clear the air. Nina could not see him as anything more than another adult, however, so couldn't connect very well. There is at least one thing that she likes about him, though: he sure can spin a great mind game. She still prefers to call him "Coyote." First Seen: Teen ( Cody) / Child ( Nina) || Last Seen: Teen ( Cody) / Child ( Nina)  - Roman - Met briefly at a camping site, he was a toddler of few words and yet the first of the twins to initiate conversation. Nina found him to have an amusing sense of humor. Seemed to be able to put up with a lot of teasing, and was pretty bold. A cheerful spawn, it was easy for her to open up to him and consider him a good friend right away. He never spoke down to her, like she was just a child, always answered frank, and he did it all with a sincere, perpetual smile on his face.
