Tykier took his little brother to the newly opened zoo. He heard that there was a petting zoo inside, so he thought that Kyler would love to feel the animals' pelts. Holding his brother's hand, Tykier paid for the both of them. Ty stopped at the map near the entrance, and looked around, "Well, Kyler... We're the first one's here!"

Lately, Nina had been interested in learning about things from first-hand experience, growing slightly agitated from experiencing everything from the pages of a book. Granted, she liked the books and everything, but what ever happened to seeing something with your own eyes?
Her and Ephron's day started out early, as Nina wished to see a Spring sunrise. She had seen one before, but it seemed like it was so long ago... the days started way too early during this time of year! "The sky is like a chameleon!" she giggled, still excited about it.
Ephron smiled down at her before his eyes found their way to a sign as they passed. "Grand Opening!" was written in sparkling gold letters on a banner under the title of the zoo, and the man couldn't help but think that this would be the perfect way to continue the day; he had been winging it the whole time, anyway. "Nina, have you ever been to the zoo?" he asked, getting a hasty shake of the head as a reply.
Making their way inside, after a quick stop at the entrance to pay for the trip, they noticed that the place was... rather empty. "We got here early, didn't we?" Ephron smiled before noticing the two spawn near the map. "Shall we have a look around?" he asked, maneuvering the two of them over to the map as well.
Although Nina was unsure about the two older spawn that were already there, she couldn't help but be curious. Instead of looking over the map with her guardian, she took to attempting to hide her glances at Tykier and Kyler. She hadn't seen many of the older ones, and their features were so unique! She didn't want to stare, though, so quickly darted her tri-colored eyes to the board and pointed at a random caged area. "How about here!" she stated before actually reading what she was pointing at -- it just happened to be the petting zoo as well!

Tykier was studying the map so that he would be able to figure out where he was when they got lost. Kyler's tentawings, on the other hand, were more interested in the new spawn that appeared. Tui, being the nice one, tapped on Nina's shoulder and waved. La just looked over in Nina's direction.
After Ty looked up from the map to see a finger point at the place where he was looking, "Hm..?"

"The petting zoo, huh?" Ephron mused, looking over the rest of the map to get his bearings on the area. He didn't want to get lost halfway to that section of the zoo, after all. Also, despite the fact that Nina really just picked a place at random, what better area to start with when one was so eager to learn about animals first-hand?
Nina almost jumped when she felt the light tap on her shoulder, turning slightly to come face-to-face with a... tenta-wing? She stood, shocked at first before giggling. She sure wasn't expecting that! Without thinking over the fact that said tenta-wing was attached to someone, she grabbed Tui softly and shook it like a handshake, a maneuver that she was taught by another brief acquaintance as a form of introduction. To her defense, she hadn't actually interacted with a lust spawn equipped with tentacles before. "Hi there!" she squeaked happily.

Tui immediately vibrated when Nina shook her like a hand. The she-tentawing gently coiled around Nina's hand, and vibrated more to show that she was happy. Kyler looked over to Tui's direction only because he felt the vibrations on his back, "Tui..? What are you doing..?"
His little brother's words made Tykier look up to see another spawn. An unusual one at that. Never had he seen a girl with green skin, and glowing tattoos... He couldn't believe his eye! He smiled, "Hello. You wouldn't perhaps be from a place called Seven of Seven, would you..?"

Nina found herself giggling with Tui's response to her -- that, and the vibrations tickled! Ephron smiled at the interaction, but pretended to not notice as to entice her to keep up the interaction. He was always worried that she may not be able to make friends very easily, which always proved to be folly on his part. He knew he was just worried that Nina may end up like he had been at her age.
The child jumped slightly when she heard Kyler's voice, almost forgetting that she hadn't been speaking solely to Tui at the moment. At the mention of Seven of Seven, her nose scrunched up in irritation. She hated the mention of that place, but at the very least, it gave them a common origin. It was something to start from! She nodded, glancing up to study the two of them in more detail before a thought sprung in her head. "I'm Nina!" she introduced -- how could she forget to start with that? "How about you? Are you here to see the animals?"

The Lust spawn giggled happily, "My name's Kyler and my big brother's name is Ty~!" Tykier snickered at his little brother's response, "Heh... Yeah. I was thinking that Kyler would enjoy the feel of the animal fur..." Tui let go and patted the smaller spawn's head. La slowly, but surely, reached over to Nina to check her out.

Nina opened her mouth to ask about the answer she had received as to why they were there -- she didn't know you were allowed to pet the animals in a zoo! -- before she snapped it shut once more. She darted her eyes over to the board, and sure enough, finally read the area which she had pointed to moments earlier. The petting zoo. She took a quick glance to Ephron to be sure her statements were correct as she replied, "We were just going to head over there, too!"
Ephron snickered at her reaction, failing in his attempt to mask it. "Mind if we tag along with you two?" he asked with a sheepish grin. He didn't want to be a bother, but they were all heading in that direction anyway, and they seemed to be getting along so well. "Ah, and I'm Ephron, Nina's guardian. It's a pleasure to meet the two of you!"
Meanwhile, Nina was giggling as Tui pat her on the head. Noticing the other tenta-wing cautiously move over to check her out, she held a hand forward, palm up, to show that she wasn't going to harm either of them. It was something that a couple of the techs over at the facility had done with her when she was angry, and the action seemed to have rubbed off on her.

Nodding, Tykier smiled to the guardian, "Sure. It's always good to have company..." The cyclops looked around, and snickered softly, "Even if we're going to the same place." Suddenly, the man itched his red leathery wing, "Dang scratching..."
La continued to cautiously reach over to Nina's hand. He poked it a couple times to make sure she wouldn't grab him, and then, when he felt like she was safe, La curled himself around the hand gently and shook it. Kyler giggled, "I think Tui and La like you..." There was a small silence, but Kyler spoke again, "So what do you look like..?"

Nina's hand twitched as La poked it, but other than that momentary ticklish reaction, she held it still. She understood the cautious movements, though she was glad that La had taken to her so soon; she wasn't sure what else she would have done afterward if he had continued to be tense around her. Perhaps she could utilize Ephron's patience... but then again, she wasn't much of the patient type herself. "Hello, there," she smiled to the tenta-wing as it seemed to greet her in return. It was an odd sensation, to be shaking hands with a feathered tentacle, but was still rewarding.
She smiled up at Kyler when he said that his wings liked her, but was a little confused about his question. What she looked like? But she was right here... She hadn't encountered anybody who was blind before, but she wasn't exactly ignorant on the matter; it just took her a couple of moments before she comprehended the situation. "Ohh..." she murmured, shifting uneasily on her feet. She hadn't really ever talked about herself before, let alone any good points. She bit her lip as she considered how to answer. "Umm... people tell me that they like my hair," she answered, almost as if it were a question, "and, uhh... I'm short. See?" She tugged on Kyler's shirt softly to indicate where she came up on him. Even for a child her age, she was below average when it came to height. This had mostly to do with Hope's genes.
Ephron couldn't help but smile at the exchange. He knew that Nina wasn't all that proud of how prominently Revenge's traits dominated her features, but she seemed to get around that fact rather nicely -- as well as managing to really not help that much in describing herself to the blind Kyler. He didn't want to push his luck by helping, trying to avoid bringing something up that Nina didn't want to have brought up, so kept himself clear. He coughed lightly to get some attention, even if it was slight, and motioned his head toward the direction of the petting zoo. "We'd better get moving, so we don't block the entrance for any other customers. We can always chat on the way, eh?"
