Well, this was a first: Nina had managed to slip out under Ephron's watch as he spoke with a small business' owner. She couldn't help but try, the conversation was just too boring for her not to. Not only that, but she barely understood the concepts of which they were speaking about, of running a business and keeping it afloat in this economy or something. It's not as if she really cared to understand it, either.
The day was sunny, but not unbearably warm. It was torture to stay inside when such an uninteresting discussion was being had while the day was so beautiful! And it wasn't as if she was wandering very far... just across an empty street. There was a fountain over that way that had managed to catch her attention, and it was as good as any place to start looking around. She wasn't very familiar with this part of town yet, but it looked fascinating enough to her.
She glanced back through the window of the shop briefly, to make sure they were still preoccupied, before she made her way over. There was sure to be something that grabbed her attention more than a small building with so few furnishings...

An older spawn was out for a walk at that point and about to stop for a drink. Ebony's short black hair glistened in the sunlight as her fluffy white wings twitched to fan her a little as she slowed near the fountain.
Something caught her attention as she bent for a drink however - there was a child heading in that direction, and a most interesting looking one indeed. The whites of her eyes were dark, and her head featured strange markings and an odd green mohawk. She was cute, to say the least, but definitely something new.
"Hi there." the older girl greeted, waving a bit as Nina approached. "Out for a walk?"

Nina halted briefly in her steps, surprised when she heard a voice addressing what could only be her; there weren't many other people walking about in this area at the moment. However, it was only a momentary lapse of time, as she didn't really feel any threatening vibes off of this... rather colorful spawn. Interesting, how come she hadn't noticed her approaching the fountain?
Ahh yes, sneaking away. That was it. She gave a hint of a smile and waved in greeting to Ebony before glancing once more over to the shop she had wandered away from. "Sorta," she replied with a slight shrug. One could call it a walk. "I'm waiting, and I wanted to go outside. It's pretty today," she nodded, pointing to the sky to emphasize that she was enjoying the weather. "Are you out for a walk?"
She took a glance at Ebony's white wings. They were so lovely, and she had met so few with wings so far. Honestly, she really didn't consider her currently-dispersed mist to be wings, so was watching the feathered appendages in awe. She shook herself from these thoughts when she realized she had been staring, however, and fastened her eyes back on track with a smile.

Ebby laughed a bit, nodding and remembering being younger and wandering away from her family if she was too bored. "Yes it is. The weather's been lovely lately."
"As a matter of fact, I am." the older spawn said with a nod, fluffing her wings up a bit and grinning, "So, what shall you do with your newfound freedom?"

Nina giggled as Ebony ruffled her feathered wings; the white pigmentation caught the light of the sun, but it didn't hurt her eyes. "Mm," she pondered briefly, "I dunno. I don't want to go too far or he might freak out." She smiled, indicating her blonde-haired guardian through the glass of the shop behind her. True, she really didn't actually care if he panicked over the matter, but it would only take up more time that could be better spent doing other... less boring things. Though the thought of it amused her, nonetheless. "Were you going somewhere?" she wondered aloud. Maybe she could help Nina pass the time a little, if she wasn't in a hurry?
"I'm Nina, by the way!" she introduced with a little wave of the hand, realizing that she hadn't done so yet.

"No, no where really." she laughed, catching onto the child's scheme.
"I'm Ebony. Nice to meet you, Nina. Did you want to play a game?"

"It's nice to meet you, too, Ebony!" Nina replied, rocking a little on her feet. This was quite a bit different than many of the encounters she had had in the past. Nina actually felt comfortable around Ebony, in almost no time at all. There was nothing that she felt defensive over, nothing that made Nina feel as though she should put a guard up. To her, Ebony was just... sincerely nice, which is something that Nina felt was rare among older individuals.
She tapped a finger on her chin thoughtfully as she pondered the question over. She hadn't played many games with others before, but it could be fun! She didn't want to feel ignorant on the matter, however, as she knew so few games, so tried to let Ebony take the lead, "Mm, sure! Was there something you wanted to play?" Her smile was very broad, and even upon asking the countering question, she still tried to come up with an idea for a game as well. There were a few people off in the distance who were throwing a frisbee around, but it didn't look like either of the spawn had something similar... Perhaps a game of hide-and-seek? Though there were so few places that either of them could hide. Hmm...

Ebony thought for a bit. There were lots of games she could play, but some that'd be easy for a little kid in a park with no other stuff around to play with?
"Well, there's tag, hide-and-seek, aaaaannnnd, I don't know. It's been a while since I played games like that, sorry." the purple skinned female laughed a little at that. At her work, she sometimes took time off between shows to help with the kids there. But mostly what that ended up coming down to was watching them for a while or helping with a magic show every once in a while.

"Mmm," pondering, pondering. It was more difficult to think of a game when one spent most of their time out exploring the town, looking through children's books and encyclopedias, or scribbling colors onto blank pages with a crayon. What game could a person play using curiosity and examination as the main elements?
A bright flash caught Nina's eye just then, but she barely jerked her head to get a better look. Her eyes moved slowly upward to watch as a monarch butterfly fluttered lazily through the air, heading toward a medium-sized evergreen that stood parallel to the sidewalk nearby. The child smiled deviously, finally catching on to an idea. Without pausing to ask if Ebony even wanted to play the game, Nina stated in a sing-song fashion, "I spy somethiiing... orange." She smiled up to the older spawn, as if she were inquiring if the game chosen was a good choice.

Ebony clapped a little. "ooh, good choice! I'd forgotten that one!" she assured the girl and began to look around.
Eventually, her eyes landed on the butterfly, since it was the first one she'd seen in the area. "A monarch butterfly?"

Nina couldn't help but giggle with the comment she received from Ebony -- at least she now knew that the older spawn didn't mind playing the game! Not that Nina had actually played the game in the past... rather, Ephron had tried to goad her into playing the game once when she had gotten slightly upset. At that time, she hadn't bothered and ended up ignoring her guardian, but at least she knew the general rules of the game. It wasn't too hard!
"Yes!" she clapped with emphasis, "That's right!" It was a bit of a warm-up, as there weren't that many orange objects in the area at the moment, but she couldn't help but get excited. "That means it's your turn!" she beamed.

"Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm." Ebby said, glancing around through her hidden eyes. Eventually, she spotted a rather large rock that was tan rather than gray - probably placed there by park administration. "I spy with my little eye something tan."

"Tan, huh?" Nina chirped, scanning the park-esque scenery. There was the bark on the trees, but... no, that was too dark to be considered "tan." A few things yellow, but that was much too bright; tan was more washed-out than that, nearly the color of those comical beige cars that everyone seemed to hate. There were a couple of other random items that were somewhat close to the color description, but then her eyes hit on something. It was the first tan item that her eyes caught sight of, "A straw hat?" A lady was passing by that was wearing one; could that be considered tan?
Her eyes kept moving over her surroundings nonetheless, on the off-chance that she was wrong. Something else that stood out, more plainly tan, caught her attention. She scrambled a few feet over to get closer to it, perking as she pointed to the feature. "Or maybe that boulder over there?" This game, she found, was surprisingly fun!

Ebony looked over, "Well that wasn't what I was looking at but it's close. It looks more yellow to me though." the older girl said before grinning, "Yep! It was that rock! Not very creative huh? You're better at this than I am." she laughed a bit then, "Anyway, your turn!"

Nina shook her head in response to Ebony's statement, pairing the action with a hasty, "Nuh-uh! You found what I spied faster!" A praise of itself, though Nina decided to forgo her other observation: that they were about equally-matched. Nina may have found the answer faster, but Ebony did pick the correct object on her first try!
Nina twirled a couple of paces, running her eyes over the scenery to deduce her next pick while attempting to make sure that it wasn't obvious as to what she chose. First, she tried to pick something that had similar features as a few other items in the area, and while she tried to pick which one she wanted to use, she continued to fake that she was still looking around. It may throw Ebony off, but it might not. She didn't want it to be too easy!
This time, she decided to go with spying a texture rather than a color. However, there weren't many objects in the area with similar textures, so she opted to default on color once more. She smirked, deciding on something of a color that was just about everywhere. "I spy, with my little eye, something that is green," she sang, spinning back around to face Ebby. There was the trees, there were shirts on passersby, and there was even a couple of cars that were parked none too far away that were flushed in the color she described. Despite all the pickings, Nina decided she'd be tricky and actually pick the most obvious choice: grass.
