1.2 Rider Info Name: Loraket (L’ket) Age: 15 Sex: male Rank: weyrling Physical Description:Loraket is of average height about 5, 5”. He has a tanned boyish face with blue eyes and a lop-sided smile. His dark brown hair is thick and wavy. He wears light-colored, loose fitting clothes since he spends a lot of time working out in the sun. The loose clothing hides the firm muscles he's developed from working with feed bales and hoisting butchered meat. Because of his attention to detail, his clothes are always neat, clean and tidily mended. Personality: Loraket is very careful in what he does. He’s seen too many things go dreadfully wrong by simple haste. He sometimes takes too long to get a task done because he’s double-checking himself to make sure everything is right. He will often point out when something is out of place (like a riding strap is not fastened correctly, cooking ingredients not stored in their proper spot, etc.) Like most young boys he dreams of impressing a dragon. But he’s also been witness to many weyrling accidents. He’s seen the empty shell of vibrant person left behind when a dragonet dies and he’s heard the last scream of a young dragon gone between because his young rider died foolishly in an accident. He’s torn between wanting to fulfill a boyish dream and keeping his world safe and controlled. He’s stood on the sands a few times. After not being chosen, he was almost relieved afterwards to be able to go back to his regular routine where everything had its place. Pets: Bronze firelizard – Piper (Christmas firelizard) Other/Talents: In his spare time, he uses scrap leather (bits and pieces left over from making boots and riding straps) to carve and tool designs into.

1.3 History: Born and raised in the Weyr. His mother works in the lower caverns. She has some musical talent, so she helps the Weyrharper in her spare time. She has a knack for playing the pipes and Loraket loves to listen to her play. When his father (a dragonrider) gifted him with a firelizard egg, he named the hatchling, Piper, in honor of his mother’s playing. Loraket was fostered to the herdbeast master. He helps tend the beasts (feeding, watering, weeding out sick ones, etc.). He also helps with bringing meat for the dragonets and showing the candidates how to feed their new soulmates.

1.6 Dragon Information Name: Rangith (Ran-jith) Color: Blue Physical Description: He’s about the typical size for a blue, though on the smaller spectrum of things. Rangith is well proportioned, though his head is a little heavy and his legs are slightly stubby. He runs towards the stocky gamut, like many of his siblings, but that just means that he has good endurance, for a blue. He’s surprisingly quick as well, though he really prefers just to fly slowly and take everything in. He likes watching the world go by from his lofty perch, soaring on a thermal all day. Personality:Rangith is a very… focused blue dragon but on only one thing- his sister, Inannath. Even as a hatchling, he decided that he was madly in love with her, even if he could not articulate the feelings at that time. Instead, he spent a copious amount of time telling his rider what a wonderful, beautiful creature she is, and how she is the perfect example of everything a dragon should be. She’s more perfect than a Queen in Rangith’s mind. As he grows older, his obsession will grow into a more mature infatuation. Inannath doesn’t really mind, but she doesn’t really understand either. When he’s not being fixated on Inannath, Rangith is… No, he’s pretty much always thinking about her. How come she doesn’t return his feelings? What does he have to do? Can his ridermine please talk to her ridermine and become friends and more so he can have a chance at the lovely green? Really, a smack upside the head (not a hard one) is what he needs to shut up, at least for a little bit. Beyond his little romantic trouble, Rangith is a fairly well behaved dragon. He respects the others, and while he’s not the brightest, he always does try his hardest. He’s happiest flying as high as his wings will take him, always trying to get higher and higher, as if he wants to break through the clouds and breath in air too thin for his lungs. Be it warm or cold, you can find Rangith and his rider slowly circling in the sky, or Rangith flying around the Weyrbowl, sans rider. He would never go far without his beloved ridermine, but he needs to stretch his wings and feel his ichor pump at least once a day. He’s not a dragon content with being idle, and is rather high energy as a consequence. Rangith will only chase Inannath, if he can resist it. There are occasions when his hormones get the best of him, but the blue is still smitten with his green sister, and would not want to ruin any chances he has to win her heart. It would probably be best for his rider to encourage him to chase after other females. Who knows- if he catches one, perhaps his mind will finally be forcibly dragged off of Inannath. Don’t count on it though. Other:

1.7 Dragon History Hatching:At Inannath's Hatching, the Nile Crocodile egg suddenly began to twitch violently, suddenly exploding into a thousand shards. The little blue within it had his wings fully spread, his eyes wide and swirling, a prodigious birth. He zeroed in on the world around him, standing strong and proud, determined to find his mine.
But the first thing that the blue saw was bright lime green, eye searing to most but absolutely gorgeous to the little dragonet. Of course, he already knew who His was by now and walked towards the boys, never taking his eyes off of Inannath. She was so beautiful! How could he ever tear his gaze away from that lovely hide, that regal brow? Inannath was perfect and he could not stand it. He trembled as he finally turned his regard to the one other thing that he would focus intensely on in his life, his other half, his One, his Loraket.
Mine, do you see that beautiful creature? Can we go speak to Her? I'm a little hungry, but that can wait... just look at her, 'mine! Oh... my name is Rangith, by the way.Hatching (pg 8 ) Hatching Story (WIP) ***

1.8 Dragon Egg
The Nile CrocodileThe bite force exerted by an adult Nile crocodile has been shown by Doctor Brady Barr to measure 5,000 lbf (22 kN). However, the muscles responsible for opening the mouth are exceptionally weak, allowing a man to easily hold them shut with a small amount of force.[2] Their mouths are filled with a total of 64 to 68 cone-shaped teeth. On each side of the mouth, there are 5 teeth in the front of the upper jaw (the premaxilla), 13 or 14 in the rest of the upper jaw (the maxilla), and 14 or 15 on either side of the lower jaw (the mandible). Hatchlings quickly lose a hardened piece of skin on the top of their mouth called the egg tooth, which they use to break through their egg's shell at birth.
The people of Ancient Egypt worshiped Sobek, a crocodile-god associated with fertility, protection, and the power of the Pharaoh.[12] They had an ambivalent relationship with Sobek, as they did (and do) with the Nile crocodile; sometimes they hunted crocodiles and reviled Sobek, and sometimes they saw him as a protector and source of pharonic power.
According to Herodotus in the 5th century BC, some Egyptians kept crocodiles as pampered pets. In Sobek's temple in Arsinoe, a crocodile was kept in the pool of the temple, where it was fed, covered with jewelry, and worshipped. When the crocodiles died, they were embalmed, mummified, placed in sarcophagi, and then buried in a sacred tomb. Many mummified crocodiles and even crocodile eggs have been found in Egyptian tombs.Blue RangithRangith is a very… focused blue dragon but on only one thing- his sister, Inannath. Don’t count on it though. The Oceanic God RangiHe fell madly in love with PAPA, the Earth Mother Goddess. In the passion of their embrace, the Earth and the Sky were so tightly cuddled together that there was no room to move.
This was somewhat embarrassing when their children RONGO, TANE and TU were born. Faced with a lifetime of stunted growth and intense parental pressure, the kids decided that something had to be done. So TANE tried to force his parents apart. He pushed and pushed for days, weeks and years until PAPA and RANGI slowly parted company. Light entered the world for the first time and plants began to grow.
PAPA and RANGI were terribly upset at their separation. RANGI's tears covered the world in ocean, and PAPA's wistful sighs became mists and clouds.Oh God, Why Me?Loraket struggles to keep things in control. Rangith suffers from a lack of control with his sister Inannath. Can Loraket keep his dragon in control? Will he learn that not everything needs to be so perfectly in control? Rangith has a cool pattern.
