Attitude: Independent and capable. She'll look at you, study you and dismiss you in a glance. When presented with something furry, she'll squeal like a 5-year-old.
Personality: She not self conscious. She is self confident to the point of arrogance. She's one of those kids who thinks 'I need no one and I'm just fine on my own'. She's independent and has a hard time accepting that she might need someone else. If she's given time to think something through, which she tries to do but often fails, she can come up with some fairly decent plans. Many kids call her 'weird' because she's quiet. She often drifts off into day dreams and she's one of those that can entertain herself with her own thoughts. She's impulsive, reacting without thinking often. She doesn't pay much attention to if she hurts people with words. She is protective of animals. She gets irritated by almost everyone, though.


History:Domani Ruggiero was born on April 16th, sixteen years ago, to Marco (24) and Lanza (23), two veterinarians in the lovely, dirty, and sinking town of Venice, Italy. The family lived above their animal business, which allowed little Domani to be around animals all day. The couple lived in the sestieri Santa Croce, on the eastern side. Lanza's sister, Cynzia (21) lived with her two children, Sarafina (3) and Viggo (2) who were all that was left of two old boyfrields. Cynzia was a tour guide for their lovely town.

Domani was endlessly fascinated with animals and helped her parent's with their job since she was five. SInce they lived above the pet hospital, their neighbors were cold to them (who wants to live next door to people who had dozens of moaning, groaning, and hurt pets?) so Domani mainly stuck with her family in her younger years. She was extremely close with her cousins and some of her fondest memories were playing with them when she was young.

One of her favorite pasttimes was wandering about the charted (and uncharted), twisting streets of Venice. She often got into trouble with her parents for this. Over time, her parents discovered she could pick up languages like a sponge, soaking them up just by hearing them. This and animals were her passion. She had a strong grasp on Italian and Venetian, with some Slovene and German mixed in by the time she started school.

She went to school and passed through it boredly. Scuola elementare passed and she had made few friends. She was dubbed 'weird' by her fellow classmates and 'quiet and inattentive' by her teachers. She often would daydream during classes and would normally miss important information. Like most students, when she reached her third year, she began taking English and that she soaked up as well. Scuola media went by just as slowly as elementary school did and almost as boring. The only classes she paid attention to were the ones related to science. She gave cursory attention to Math, her Reading enjoyments were purely nonfiction in order to expand her knowledge of animals, Geography was boring, English moved far too slowly, Technology was more than a little confusing, Art was pointless, and History was a time to sleep.

Her free time was spent outside as much as possible and with animals or wandering the city, paying attention to the many tourists that wandered Venice, as well as those from the nearby regions and she learned her languages, though sometimes it took a bit of time to sort through them. After all, she was hardly going to ask some half-awed tourist 'What language are you speaking?' in their own language, though she did, once. The person glared at her like she was making fun of them and stomped off, leaving her question unanswered.

Domani was a loner, left with only her animals and her languages. She would sometimes spend hours staring into a dog or cat's cage, talking in vain to them about how the world would be easier if she was an animal. There were times she would daydream, she's be a dog, a cat, any mammal at all! Unbeknownst to her, however, ocassionally she would daydream and temporarily acquire a small attribute on an animal. Whiskers from a cat, blackened nose of a dog, pointed ears, different colored eyes. She would always be exhausted after her daydreams and would then spend her nights on the roof, staring at the stars as she fell asleep from exhaustion.

When she reached the age of 14, the age where Italian children choose specialized schools to go to, she made an easy decision and stuck with her scientific goals, going to a nearby academy in Venice. Eventually, Sarafina went off to find work as a model and Viggo got shipped off to the University of Padua to pursue his career in medicine.

Domani did, however, make a mistake (or not, depending on your point of view) of day dreaming during those boring classes. One of the other children with powers must have seen this and mentioned it a D.A. member at their school, Paola Costa.




Domani has become less gung ho about things and more careful. She's become less stubborn and has learned to compromise. And she's working on courtesy. She's given authority to Diego and Elisa.

19 November, 2007 So. Domani is in jail with a collar preventing her from using her abilities. So she has none right now.

24 October, 2007 Domani has been practicing. She can hold a full-on transformation for about 10 seconds before having it leave her physically tired but not exhausted. If she does a second transformation relatively similar to the first, she can last another 10 seconds after a short break before feeling entirely drained. If it's a different structure, she can only last about 5 seconds. She has been able to pick specific small things to change but finds it more difficult to transform two things into entirely different animal parts than to just transform entirely into one animal.

18 September, 2007 Domani currently is only able to do small changes and cannot control the specifics. She can pick the animal she wants to resemble through her daydreams. She has not tried out full bodied changes yet but when she does, she'll be able to maintain them for perhaps five seconds in extreme strain before passing out. She has not found a faster way to change outside of daydreaming.



Please note that Domani's skill tree was very hard to create. It was first based off of size (things more closely sized to her are easier to become) and based off of weight at that, then her familiarity with the animals (theoretical), then bone structure and how closely related the creature is to humans, all the while trying to make it reasonable. Domani's learning of her ability will not directly be traced in order on the tree, it's just a basis! They're guidelines, not rules.

Domani lives with her mother, father and aunt in a narrow two-story condominium at the entrance to a court. She's typically left alone except for reminders to do homework and everyone eating together at dinner. She spends most of her time on either the first floor, with the animals or on the roof.
