((Linku from old RP. Oh my. My little girl is far too rash for her own good.))

Domani groaned and shifted. When did she fall asleep? It sure as hell wasn't her own bed she was laying on, she knew that much. It was hard.

She opened her eyes and met darkness. What? Her mind flashed. Right. Evos. Anger. The jaguar. She got knocked out? Seriously? She hadn't felt that bad. Merda. Where in the world was she?

A quick search yielded she was wearing her street clothes albeit rather ripped and dirty street clothes that didn't have any of the things she kept in her pockets. And she had this thing around her neck. Her cell, and it was truly a cell, was around so small that if she laid down straight, she touched the wall with head and feet. There were bars on one side and no windows.

Merda.

What was she going to do? Right. The bars. They were too small to squeeze through but she was human right now. And she wasn't an Evo. She didn't have to be human. She closed her eyes and concentrated and reached and found.... Nothing. What? She mentally poked that nothingness.
WHAT!?!?!? Where was it? Where was it? WHERE.

Not there. Not anywhere. No matter where she searched, her humanity glared at her. To her shock and dismay, her humanity seemed to take revenge at her. She felt tears in her eyes. She was crying. Stupid human. Why did you think that you could get away with that? Challenging those Evos and then changing right in front of everyone. How arrogant could you be? Only a human could be that arrogant. And there you were, preaching to yourself about how much better you were than everybody else. Her subconscious berated her.

"SHUT UP!" She shrieked. Everything was quiet, even her mind. Then she realized that it didn't matter if she was better than everyone or even anyone. Her situation was hopeless. Hopeless.

Before she knew it, she was in a corner of her cell, legs pulled tight and arms pulling them closer with her head buried in them.

Her tears made her arms feel cold.

"Awwh, the e-freak is crying," One of the guards started to jab at Domani, "What is wrong, you feel empty? Like you're without your moooommmmy?" He snickered at her.

"We called her, she said to keep you. You freak! She said she doesn't want a freak daughter like you. Freak-Crybaby." The other guard lied through her teeth, but spoke as if she meant it.

"Of course not, who wants something like THAT? Ah, I know. There's some nice scientific circles out there. . ."

The two guards went on like that for a good, long time. They fluctuated between laughing at Domani's responses and being out right verbally abusive to her.

The likely would have gone on longer, except another man peeked in to relieve the woman and he yelled at the other to get out on his rounds. He stopped to look at this Domani. He shook his head, "It's a crying shame that there are genes out there that turn people bad. A crying shame," he muttered.

OOC: Just let me know if you want to answer or not. I'm thinking she's here a few days and gets similar treatment the whole time. If you'd LIKE to, you can move the RP to where she's getting "transported" from their to another facility. . . better equipped to handle freaks.

Domani typically was not inclined to believe people, especially those that sounded as stupid as the guards did. Half the time she ignored them or wished they would shut up. The other half, she did listen to them and did her best to kick that niggling thread of doubt out of her mind.

Her mother? Her mother was the type that would care about a cold blooded killer if the killer was her child.

But the thought of being a science experiment.... Stupid, idiotic humans. Stupid, idiotic Domani. The guards just reminded her of all the worse aspects of human nature, all the aspects she probably didn't realize that she had. So many errors and problems humans had. Sometimes she just wished she could slip into the comfortable life of an animal but no matter how much she dreamed, it never worked.

But then a man replaced the woman and said something she wasn't sure what it meant. Did it mean her abilities as an Evo made her bad? Or was he commenting about the guard. Her curiosity got the better of her after an hour. "What did you mean, when you said that?" She asked.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 23, 2007 3:38 pm

The guard had to ask Domani what she meant by that comment - it'd been such awhile since anyone had spoken. Then he shook his head, "Don't you know? There is scientific evidence that having evolved powers makes one insane, crazy, evil. Why, my own brother, who had been gentle as a lamb---" He shook his head, giving her a sad look like maybe she had some sort of terminal illness, "A crying shame." He muttered.

OOC: short, because I know you're on now and we can reply at a decent pace with each other. wink Once again, you can skip to them transporting at anytime you want, or I will eventually.

Domani was always irritated when people always mentioned good and evil. She'd never truly understood the difference except for death rates. "But aren't good and evil subjective and aren't subjective things impossible to measure scientifically?" She asked. Who cared about his brother? Humans are the most changeable things and apparently Evos weren't human or some humanitarian would be storming in. Humanitarians. Alright people. A bit narrow-minded. She'd give her right arm to have a humanitarian (preferably one friendly with Evos) to storm in. With one of those huge guns humans (we, she reminded herself) were so fond of.

She felt like saying 'a crying shame? You're eyes are dry so what's the point in that? I'm the only idiot crying here.' But she felt drained. Her spunk seemed to have disappeared except for a comment on subjectivity and objectivity. She pressed herself closer into the corner, amber eyes watching the man.

"Insanity is easily measured." The man answered casually, "Evil is not entirely subjective. There are, afterall, universal measures of what is and what is not acceptable." He sighed, that pitying look never leaving his face, "Not that I expect you to understand such a concept." The poor child!

It wasn't long before someone above the guard walked in. It was time to take Domani out, "Well then, we have a new home for you. Come along, don't give us any trouble, freak!"

"They'll try to make you better." The other guard suggested as he pulled out his gun and pointed it at her to help escort her to the truck.

Domani thought the idea of universal measures was complete BS. After all, not everyone measured on the same scale. Those loony Americans with their 'standard' measurement system. And it didn't matter the scale if no one knew it. And she was one of the 'no one'. But the guy irritated her with that. She ignored him.

Domani eyed the guns. Annoying things, guns. Anyone became dangerous with a gun. Wasn't there a story about a dog who accidentally shot his owner? But still. She wasn't trapped. Should she? She did not want to get 'better'. Her previous weakness dissolved and she steeled herself before darting forward halfway to the truck, not knowing where she was going. She just wanted to get away from the people convinced she was born evil. She was born herself.

Several guns blasted at the same time, one bullet piercing Domani's leg, causing her to lose that entire leg and fall to the ground. The other ones barely missed her, slamming into the truck.

"Stop! Stop!" The head guard shouted, raising his hands to have his men stop firing. It did, and the chaos and shouts died down a bit, everyone glaring and staring warily at Domani.

The head guard was crouching down with Domani now and shot her a look of -- that could not possibly concern-- of something while he motioned for a medic to come over.

"Take care of the wound. We can't have the kid dying."

"What? Boss!" One of the guards protested to his care.

"I refuse to have someone die on my watch," the head rose to his feet, addressing his men coolly. "If you wish to take the blame for it, then be my guest."

"The freak tried to ESCAPE, sir!" The guard pointed out.

"And we got her." The head guard countered, "She's learned her lesson and is certainly unable to try again. This is enough. We will not be able to justify any additional damage. And now get your a** into your position really soon before I get mad." His eyes narrowed at the threat.

The guard stiffened and glared before he saluted and hurried off.

"All of ya, to your places!" The head guard ordered and then turned back to the medic, even as his men went to do just that.

"She ready for travel?" he grunted.

The medic nodded. "Yessir." He took Domani's arm, and the headguard took the other. Together they roughly hauled up Domani and carried her into the car, where two officers handcuffed her AND cuffed her ankles together.

"Don't try again," one of the guards growled angrily at Domani. "Next time I won't miss, you freak," he hissed into her face.

Domani bit back a cry as she felt her leg get shot, sucking it up. She would not seem hurt. The head guard looked at her funny, almost like he cared. Like a parent cared for a retarded child, she figured, before getting her a medic. a**. The rest made their dislike obvious. He pretended to feel sorry for her. She preferred the straight-forward honesty, if she had to pick. But she wouldn't try again. Or maybe she would, depending on the circumstance. But probably not. She proved most of them either have crappy aim or are not allowed to shoot to kill.

She suffered the medic's task in silence, glaring poison at anyone and everyone who looked her way as she got manhandled into the car. She half felt like spitting in the guard's face but decided that truly had no point to it and probably would leave her more damaged. She turned her eyes to her surroundings, doubting she'd find anything useful but it was better than looking at the people.

The van had started to drive and had been driving for nearly forty minutes, although time would probably seem much longer for poor, injured Domani. After nearly forty minutes, the van stopped and commotion could be heard. The doors to the back of the van were pulled open and the head guard stood there, glaring at the one guard that had remained to keep a watch on Domani. The only things he HAD been doing were to insult Domani, over and over and then, amazingly enough, had started to make lewd suggestions, stating what HE'd like to do to freak girls such as herself and.... well, when the van jolted to a sudden stop, the guard had jumped to his feet, his gun drawn and pointed at the door. He didn't have to worry about Domani much, because she was still chained up and immobile.

When the van doors opened and the head guard stood there, the guard lowered the gun and frowned against the light of day. It had been DARK in the van. "Boss, what's--?" He couldn't get much further, because at that point, the head guard at raised his gun and shot the guard straight through the head. It seemed to be the sign for an all out gunfight, because outside, the guards could be heard yelling and shouting while they empties their guns onto unknown assailants.

The head guard jumped in and easily navigated past the corpse to stand in front of Domani. The entire figure rippled and shimmered and then the appearance of the head guard seemed to melt away, only to be replaced by that of a young and spunky girl. She was grinning broadly and two silver teeth, as well as studded diamond could be spotted. Her short hair was purple and stood up in spikes.

"Ciao," she smiled, Mi chiamo Elisa. Come sta?" she questioned, before bending down to take the keys from the dead guy's belt. She took her time while taking off the shackles and chains on Domani, the sounds of gunfire, which had been strong at first, had lessened by now and were over by the time she had her completely untied. "Avere bisogno di aiuto?" She asked, concerned, and motioned to Domani's leg.

By that time a man had appeared in the doorway and tisked. Yep, it was the very same guy that approached Domani earlier. His attitude was still obvious. Pure American punk. "Take your time, Elisa, we've all day, you know," he scoffed, hopping into the van.

"She is injured," Elisa protested. Her English was very accented, revealing she hadn't been speaking for very long alhough her grammar appeared quite good.

"What have you been DOING?" He exclaimed, looking Domani over. "Geez kid, ever tried taking care of yourself?" he scoffed.

Elisa looked scandalised and already opened her mouth to protest.

"Nah, save it, kid. The cops are already coming." The guy waved her protests away and then scooped Domani up into her arms, not heeding whatever she might say or protest. He continued out of the van, closely followed by Elisa and approached another guy that had been waiting a bit impatiently. This one was absolutely gorgeous, nicely tanned, dark black hair and eyes and a blinding smile, which he showed off all too gladly when the three approached.

"Ah, ciao! Come va?" He motioned to Domani.

"No time, let's just go!" The guy sounded frustrated as he put Domani into the backseat of the car, none too gently, and then hopped behind the wheel. The pretty guy shot him and Domani a questioning look, but he seemed to understand when he saw her leg.

Elisa still looked insulted as she hopped into the car and muttered a rude word against the first guy.

"Diego said you speak English?" she asked Domani, still with a clear accent.

Domani did her best to ignore the guard but sometimes she just wanted to twist around and smack him. Beat him to a pulp for some of the things he said. But she just kept on looking at the darkness in the car, away from him, even when her face started heating up at the things he followed up on.

She frowned when they stopped. Where were they? Then the door opened and the guard, who was an insult even to mankind, seemed just as confused. Then a bullet shot. Then so many she feared for her life. What? A... rescue? Seriously?

She waited, unsure whether she wanted to find out. Movement, then the guard appeared, shapeshifting to a girl. "Er. Ciao. Tu può chiamare me Domani. Io non bisogno di aiuto ora. Forse dopo. Che succede?" She asked, curious as to what was happening before she was interrupted by that punk man from before. How long ago was it? A couple weeks? Or a couple months?

She stifled a smart alleck response to the American's question. She figured she could do so to show some gratitude. She was willing to trust the girl but the American she had doubts about. Then she was bodily picked up and got much closer than she'd like with someone she trusted so little. For a rescuer, he seemed to have little care of her opinion.

She was just as confused as the gorgeous guy as to what was going on but she knew enough to understand that the cops weren't on their side. So they had to get away from the death match between the two sides before they got caught. Right. That made sense. It also explained the guard's emotions earlier.

The girl hopped in next to her, though and Domani got distracted by the apparent conversation she was starting. "I speak English fine. And Italian. And pretty much any language spoken in or around Venice," She responded, distracted as she tried to get her bearings. Where in the world was she? And who were they?
PostPosted: Fri Dec 14, 2007 12:57 pm

"When Diego said they had taken you we tried to get you out sooner, but it's really hard to break into the holding facilities," Elisa apoligised. "I'm sorry."

"Peh," the American guy called out, "It's not as if she would have appreciated it either way, ungrateful--" he trailed off, muttering something not too flattering.

Elisa looked even more insulted now started yelling at the guy in rapid Italian.

"Whatever, kid," he growled. "Just shut up and tend to the girl."

Elisa huffed and pulled back, glaring at the driver's seat. Pretty boy had turned around too. "Hello, I am Lothario," he smiled that pretty, bright, white-toothed smile at Domani again. His accent was even heavier than that of Elisa's.

"We'll be going to Lothario's grandmothers farm," Elisa added.

Lothario nodded. "We will be safe there. And you can recover," he smiled confidently.

Domani wanted to respond to Diego but Elisa got off some comments even faster than she did. She decided she liked the girl. Diego was... Diego and still seemed to lack understanding of common sense (or her own personal sense but she wouldn't admit that, now would she) and that Lothario guy seemed too.... Something.

She decided she'd attempt to act grateful, "Wonderful. Feel like sharing where that is?" She said, sarcasm hinting in her question. Yay. Being dragged off to some old lady's farm. She didn't mind the farm aspect but old ladies typically are just waiting around to die or dote on grandchildren and probably should hurry the first one up faster. They just ate and didn't contribute to society at all.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 27, 2007 3:59 am

"No, not really," Diego told her dryly, "As a matter of fact, kid, why don't you shut up and attempt to act GRATEFUL. We're risking our lives for you and you don't seem to appreciate it much," he glared at Domani through the rearview mirror even as he revved up the car. "No problem really. We'll toss you out, if you'd prefer that," he challenged her, eyes seeking hers once more through the rearview mirror.

Lothario just sighed and rolled his eyes and then reached out to the steering wheel to correct their course. They just skimmed past a tree.

Elisa wasn't saying anything now and looked from Diego to Domani, eyes closely guarded from expression.

Domani rolled her eyes, "Fine, then. If you don't want me--" She started to stand up but suddenly pain flooded her leg, pain that hurt worse that before. Pain enough for her to black out for several seconds. Right. She got shot. She'd been too busy in all of the bustle to pay much attention to her barely moving leg. "Never mind. I'll stay," She got out, barely paying much attention.

Her hand automatically moved the the side of her seat, pulling the lever to allow the chair to recline back as much as possible, though the head was still higher than the seat. Not good enough. She squeezed her eyes shut and braced herself before twisting around in a 180 and ending up with her feet in the headrest and back on the seat. She put an arm over her eyes in attempt to stop the small explosions in her eyelids. "I'll stay," She repeated, a bit faintly.

After a few (dozen of) seconds, she could feel herself think again, "Any particular reason you don't want to tell me the secret hide out? It's not like I'm going to seek out a cop to give it up. There's your gratitude. I hope it's useful enough to you. But I don't doubt you'd kick me out, despite all of your lovely effort," She said, starting clear but eventually mumbling towards the end. She was feeling tired but the pain in her leg made it impossible to get comfortable enough to fall asleep.
