.[SRP]. I can't begin to tell you how frustrating this is. I have the ability to become animals but I can't do it for more than five seconds. It's like dying of thirst and having the cup be knocked out of your hand. Honestly. And it's not like I'm getting any help from her. She's been pestering me for forever to try and get me to train with her but I just don't trust her. Maybe it's the way she looks at me or the way she acts towards me or just the way she is. But I can't stand her and I keep on thinking she's using me.
She left after I told her to, thankfully, and I've managed to avoid her at school most days. After she left, I decided to try one of those full body transformations she seemed to think I'd be able to do. I picked the best animal I could think of, a German shepherd in a cage downstairs. I daydreamed I was the dog, that my body was changing to look like what I was.
Suddenly, something snapped into place and, after a slightly uncomfortable stretching-being-shoved-in-a-box-flexing feeling, I was eye level to the counter. The first second or two was similar to wearing clothing that was shrinking slightly. The next few moments were like wearing too tight clothing. Then the pressure was filling me, enclosing me, wrapping around me and strangling me and I tried as hard as I could to just hold on to the mental string that separated my human and dog forms.
But then I passed out. I woke up, fully clothed, with Madre shaking me hard and Babbo fretting and holding a phone, unsure what to do. Rosa was sniffing me like I was morning food. I managed to convince them I was so tired, I fell asleep looking at Maximus, who was the dog. They believed it, after much fretting and I stayed home for several days, 'sleeping'.
I managed to bug them into letting me go horse back riding like I do every Saturday. Afterwards, when I was grooming, I tried to turn into the horse. It hurt a lot more and I never accomplished it. I just let go when I felt the tug in my head telling me it was a bad idea to go beyond that point. Too big? I think so. I think things closer to my body structure are easier to turn into. I tried a bird a few days later, the biggest one I knew, a turkey but I'm not even going to tell you the pain and suffering that caused me. And the sense of wrong that filled me. Turning into the dog and horse just felt hard but birds.... That turkey felt like I was going against my existence.
I've been practicing, though. In my free time. My alone time. It's gotten a little easier and I've learnt not to keep holding on so much or my body will seek revenge. But I consciously tried to get the whiskers and it was relatively easy. I haven't tried a limb. Just in case.
