Ninjutsu: started out as a set of survival skills that were used by groups of people who lived in Iga Prefecture. They were self-reliant, and had a strong affinity with nature.
These techniques, used to hunt and fight, eventually developed and became the strategic base of the ninjutsu martial arts. The ninja clans used their art to ensure their survival in a time of violent political turmoil. It also included methods of gathering information, non-detection, avoidance, and misdirection techniques. Ninjutsu can also involve training in disguise, escape, concealment, archery, medicine, explosives, and poisons.
Type of Classes:There will be group classes but as well there will be individuall one on one classes as well. Individuals can request any of the classes available to learn. Though there will be group classes as well. These classes follow the same grading system as the Self Defence classes. Though homework assigments will be random and will vary.

The schools in breif:
Seishin-teki kyōyō (spiritual refinement):In Ninjutsu, the mind must be prepared before it can receive what it must do. Derived from Shinto and Zen buddhism, the active mind must be clearly on task to make any technique work. It is said, "a naked man in an empty room can still practice ninjutsu." For ninjutsu is about a thinking, adaptive mind that is responsive to this situation, yet passive like a river on its banks.
Some Ninjutsu schools start this awakening the mind with a derived yoga system. Some trained in ninjutsu can meditate for many hours. Other ninjas trained in winter, under waterfalls stressing their bodies to the limit, to help cleanse their souls.
Taijutsu (unarmed combat, using one's body as the only weapon):Taijutsu relates to melee combat studied in depth. Taijutsu techniques include grappling, striking, evasion, etc. They do however vary greatly from school to school, as well as style to style (see noted styles). It typically includes strikes, kicks, joint locks, throws, etc. While most of its aspects are external, some people may find that they perceive internal aspects as well.
A synthesis of taijutsu applications could be as follows;
Taihenjutsu- Evasion, postures, ukemi, etc.
Dakentaijutsu- Striking patterns, fist formations, conditioning, etc.
Jutaijutsu- Throws, joint locks, pins, etc.
Kenjutsu (sword fighting- katana):Generally, kenjutsu takes the form of partnered practice exercised through kata (pre-arranged forms, as opposed to competition, solo, or freestyle practice).
Kenjutsu is the core means by which koryū train their students to employ the katana against a variety of classical weapons, while indoctrinating the student in the combative mindset of the school. Therefore, kenjutsu can be seen as an integral aspect of all classical sword school curricula.
Unlike other forms of sowrd fighting, your start the fight with the balde already drawn, the emphasis on both attack and defense.
Bojutsu (stick and staff fighting):Staves are perhaps one of the earliest weapons used by man. They have been in use for thousands of years in Eastern Asia. Some techniques involve slashing, swinging, and stabbing with the staff. Bōjutsu is one of the core elements of classical martial training. In the Okinawan context, the weapon is frequently referred to as the kon.
Shurikenjutsu (throwing blades):Shurikenjutsu is a general term describing the traditional Japanese martial arts of throwing shuriken, which are small, hand-held weapons such as metal spikes (bo shuriken), circular plates of metal known as hira shuriken, and knives (tantō)
Bo-shuriken - straight metal spikes, usually 4-sided but sometimes round or octagonal. They were normally single-pointed but variations exist that are double pointed. The average length was 16 cm and the average weight was around 50 grams. The Bo shuriken is thrown by holding it in the palm with the shaft resting between the first and second fingers. They are thrown from either hand, overhand, underhand, or sidearm from standing, seated, and lying positions. This is the most common form of shuriken used in traditional shurikenjutsu.
Hira-shuriken, Shaken (or "throwing stars") - flat, wheel-shaped plates of metal, with sharpened points and/or edges. Usually 3 mm thick or less, about 11 cm wide, with a variety of tips ranging between 3-8. The hira-shuriken can be thrown either from overhead, or horizontally with a quick wrist-snap.
Naginatajutsu (naginata fighting):This is a weapon resembling the medieval European glaive, often used in combination with a tanto or dagger. In the early history of its use, the naginata was primarily used against cavalry, as its length kept the wielder a safe distance from horses and their riders.the naginata was transformed into a symbol of status for female samurai, as well as being the primary means for a woman to defend her home while her husband was away at war.
Sui-ren (water training):Sui-ren was the training that ninja underwent for techniques involving water. Some ninja were tasked to either deal with opponents in the water, disguise themselves in it, or to cross it. These classes will work with mainly fighting with an opponent while in water.
