Emi let him go and stepped back. Her face was shuttered off for once, her eyebrows knitted up with her lips into a frown of concentration. She didn't look like the shy, slightly nervous girl she usually was.
"One... Uhm," SHe hesitated then, and turned her big brown eyes to Kuyoja. "Could you show me how to get out of holds like that? Put me in one and show me how to get out that way? Just - uhm. He-he takes melee classes too and.. and if he knows how and something happens, I want to know how to get out of .. of it.."

After being released Kuyoja stood up and turned to face the little one. Put her in the same hold? He nodded his head slowly and then moved to stand behind her.
"Please let me know if I am hurting you." he instructed as he bent over to then twist her arm backwards to pin it behind her back. His grip was firm but not crushing and he was trying not to pull her arm up too high to cause any extreme discomfort or pain. Being bigger than her had his advantage at this point, he was also stronger but he wasn't using all his strength at this point.
"now if you want to get out of this hole you either use brute force or you manage to twist your body in such a way to free your arm. Do you think you can do either?"

Madam always said that without pain, you would never know if you were doing something right. Emi didn't quote her out loud - she didn't think that Kuyoja would approve of her Madam's way of thinking. She simply nodded to his request and let him pull her arm back. The swan let out a slow breath. It wasn't as painful as en pointe.
Not yet, anyway.
"I can twist," She said, confidence for once ringing in the soft voice. "I do ballet, and gymnastics. Sometimes. May I?"

Kuyoja nodded his head as he listened to her, she looked as agile as she had say. Ballet and gymnastics were both excellent ways to stay limber and flexible. So he had no doubt she would probably be able to twist away from the hold.
"Yes, just be careful to not strain too hard. I don't want you to accidently dislocate your shoulder." He mused shifting his position slighlty so that she would be able to have an easier time of twisting about.

"I won't." That, at least, was said with a firm air of confidence. Emi had too much practice with movement to even think about the off-chance of getting herself caught up in this older mans arms. Rakha was bigger, although gentler, and she could free herself nine times out of ten.
A deep breath, so deep one could feel the ribs of her chest, and when Emi released the lungful of air, she ducked just enough to twist, push, and duck to squirm out of his hold. She stumbled and felt graceless before turning to face the teacher. There was a shy smile on her face.
"I - Sorry. I stumbled. I won't next time."

Kuyoja watched her and tried not to be too easy on her as she moved to get out of his grasp. She was an agile little thing that much was obvious.
He shook his head slightly as she apologized.
"There is no reason to apologize." He started as he nodded his head in her direction. "You got out of the hold which is the important thing." He continued.
"Did you want to try again?"

"... You don't care that I stumbled?" Emi stared, wide eyes rather shocked as she took in those words. Her instructor would have cared! Dagger most certianly would have. She would have been berated and forced to do it again, not asked as if she had an opinion and he cared.
Kuyoja was lucky she was introverted enough not to hug him. Instead, the teacher just recieved a slow smile as she laced delicate fingers together.
"May - May I go home and practice there, and come back and show you at a later date? That way I can not stumble and.. and be better."
The swan nodded, her wings flexed. "I'll get a lot when Teeu realizes he can jump me, and Lian will practice with me too. Please? I'll be better next time and not fall."

Kuyoja nodded his head,
"You are still young and cannot be expected to be perfect your first try. If you wish to go home and practice I encourage it." He murmured and stood dusting his Gi off as he then went to retrieve his note book.
"I will look forward to seeing you perfect this, of course if you want more lessons or just to meet and practice let me know." He offered. Though his words seemed...blunt it was easy to see that he was eager to see his student succeed.

Emi beamed at him and nodded quickly, rubbed her hands on her legs idly. "Thank you! I'll be better next time and, and when they ask me for more classes, I'll ask for you so I can show you!"
She even sounded excited! It was a big deal for missus Emi. The swan nodded again, two high spots of color dotting her cheeks. "Thank you. Uhm. I will see you, then."

Kuyoja nodded his head as he watched the girl depart. She was an interesting student. He ddi hope to see her again and see how far she had progressed.
