Kuyoja waited paitently for his student to arrive, he had the chalk board set up as he knew he would have to go over briefly with Kliken about the self defense lesson they had previous to this one. He wondered breifly if Lucrecia would be here, a faint tinge of pink across his cheeks. He didn't bring Sae with him as he thought she may just get Kliken distracted. Besides he was probably bringing Tural with him again...so he didnt need her having a breakdown.

Lucrecia was delighted with the fact that her boy was going to another of his classes, first a Magic Class had been set up by his own volition and now this one. To be honest this was a class the woman had set up, less because of who the teacher was though that was a bonus and more because she wanted to make sure her boy could take care of himself. He had apparently seen a rather brutal sort of fight and it had shaken the leech to his core.

She looked over at her son who was looking rather unsure about the whole idea of taking another of these classes. She reached a hand out to ruffle his hair gently, "It will be alright, hes a good teacher and one you know after all." She crooned at him.

The boy gave a bit of a nod though he still didn't much like the idea of having to take the class... he hated the idea of fighting, had see it first hand and would rather be as far from it as was possible instead of having to learn it. He turned his full attention to Tural as they headed into the classroom, one red colored hand fiddling with the strap of his bag. He had brought it along so he could take notes after the class was done since he knew already he wasn't getting out of it...

Kuyoja looked up as the trio entered the gym. It would of been a nice thing if he actually instructed a dojo. But he would settle for what he got he was paid well here and he enjoyed the students he had helped thus far. Plus...there were dragons. Always a bonus.

"Welcome." He greeted as warmly as he was able though he was keeping this professional. "A pleasure seeing you all." He continued which was bizarre since he normally got straight to the point of the class rather quickly.

He nodded his head to Lucrecia, the warmest welcome he could offer given the circumstance. He was Kliken's melee teacher today, he wasn't going to let his...'dating life' as uncomfortable and new as it was to him to interfere.

Lucrecia looked over at the red head before she stepped out of her high heels so as not to scuff up anything in the man's classroom. She made a mental note to pick up some other shoes for when she came to visit him, something that would be softer on the floor before she gave the teacher a smile, "Good evening, Kuyoja Darling." She greeted him with the affectionate pet name she'd given to him.

Kliken looked between the two for a moment before sighing and turned his attention to his notebook, flipping through it to a blank page, wrote down 'session two' and then set it aside, "Stand with Mom, Tural. I will get this class done with and then we can play."

The Cruzoor gave a huffing sound and a nod of his large head before he shuffled along, pausing here and there to sniffing at some interesting things or at least things he found interesting. He would poke at some things with his nose, lick others, and even used one of his small forefeet to bat at something else. This man always had such interesting things sitting around where he was.

The leech looked up at his teacher for a long moment then down at his feet, "Lets get this over with." He said, sounding as though he weren't in the class one hundred percent as he'd been last time... then again the last time had been before he'd seen what these classes were used for, before he'd seen some of the other kids from D-Corp beating the hell out of each other.

Kuyoja noted his students change in behavoir from their last class but didn't comment on it. Instead he gave a slightly raised eyebrow in Lucrecia's direction and then continued with the class.

"Last class we discussed parts of the body that were best suited for pressure points and places to strike if you are being attacked. Today we will be putting physical movements and ways to move when under attack,"

THere was a pause of breath as he then went over the diagram breifly pointing out and reminding the leech the various points on the body that were easy and effective places to strike.

"This of course is strictly meant for defensive purposes. You should not be striking people in these areas for the sake of doing it." He cautioned recalling teaching a rather eager Cobra boy who wanted to test his throws out on his brother.

"Now we shall start with stances and postures. Easy ways to deflect and avoid being hit. The point of self defence is not to fight, but to get out of a fight. These moves should only be used as a last resort. " He continued.

Klien looked at the diagram and half wished that he had a camera with him, taking pictures would be a lot easier then trying to draw the diagram he thought to himself before he gave a sudden and rapid shake of his head, "I'm not like that!" He told his teacher in a rush when the man told him the stuff he was learning wasn't something to use just to use it.

He blinked a couple times before flushing, not that it was something one could easily see about his already darkly red skin before he set to chewing lightly on his lower lip. He felt a little silly for such an outburst but he wanted it to be known that he didn't mean to go around randomly attacking people... Not like some people he'd seen.

"S-Sorry..." He muttered before he listened to the teacher continue and did his best to concentrate since he would have to write this all down later. Stances and postures, ways to deflect and avoid attacks, not fighting but getting out of a fight his mind repeated before he gave a nod, "Yes, a last resort." He agreed.

A slight raise of the eyebrow was directed at Kliken's direction at his outburst. Though he didn't comment on it or accept the apology it was easy to tell he didn't seem to mind it.

Moving into a ready position he indicated with a hand gesture he wished for Kliken to follow along.

"This is a ready position, we will go over pivoting first as it is the easiet way to get from point A," He moved his position pivoting on his right foot to change his direction, "to point B." He turned to face Kliken to see if he was able follow along.

Kliken was a bit relieved that the teacher didn't seem to say anything about his outburst but then again he never seemed the sort of teacher that pried into the privacy of his students he thought to himself. He seemed more the sort to just teach. His eyes went down to watching Kuyoja's feet, watching in the manner that he moved before he gave a nod of his head.

"I see." He murmured before he shifted into the 'ready' position and made an attempt at the pivoting like what he'd just seen his teacher do. It wasn't to tough he decided after a couple of tries of going from point A to point B, once he felt as though he had a handle on the motions he turned to look at the teacher for the next step.

Kuyoja had paused in his own steps to watch Kliken try out the move. He was doing it fairly easily unlike another student of his he had tried to teach. Of course Kliken had regular feet Anoki had hooves. It probably made a rather large difference in the level of difficulty. When Kliken looked up for more instruction he nodded his head and then showed him how to position his arms.

Limbs up close to the chest, hands in loose fists;
"Having your arms up like this will help provide fast and easy means of deflecting blows as well stricking." He explained as he punched out suddenly into the air before and then brought his arm back in.

"Try striking out with your palm. Using your palm helps to generate force but nothing brutal in the attack. As well it will save you from having your hand go numb if you are an inexperienced fighter."

Kliken watched carefully before he lifted his hands up to his chest to mimic the actions that that the man was showing him. He then tried a couple of those quick punches. He wasn't sure what he thought about it all, didn't much like the idea of having to hit someone to defend himself... and at the same time wondered if it would be helpful at all against older kids who had claws, armored scales, horns, and other things that he was lacking in. He paused for a moment to look himself over before sighing.

"I got the short end of the stick when it came to DNA advantages." He muttered, his mood getting a little bit worse. He had sharp teeth, strangely colored skin, and he couldn't even eat real food. Such a pain...

He lifted his head to look at the teacher again then seemed to be thinking on it for a long moment before asking, "Is there anyway at all to defend oneself against a dragon attack?" He'd seen it happen, saw the koala's dragon attack a snake girl and now he worried about it, especially given that Tural had been as screwed as he was when it came to battle worthy accessories... he couldn't even move as well on land as some other dragons so it was up to Kliken to figure out how to protect them both.

Kuyoja paused in his demonstration as the question arrose about protecting ones self from a dragon. He thought on it hard and then recalled Chath and his dragon.

"Honestly, I am not the best when it comes to fighting forces like a dragon. For I admire them greatly I have never had the chance to test my skills against one." He replied calmly, "Dragons are very formidable creatures, " his gaze when to Turel and he didn't feel the need to change his statement. Turel may grow up to be large...who knew. "Each one hastheir own advantages and disadvantages...I would suggest you speak with a pupil of mine Chath. Do you know of him?"

Kliken gave a nod of his head, "I have, he helped me out in one of my Skill Classes a while back." He told his teacher, mood lightening just a little as he thought on that guy. The older boy was among the nicer ones that he knew, he didn't have to worry or fear him... though he wasn't as sure about his dragon since Tural seemed rather nervous around that one and he trusted the Cruzoor's opinion.

"So then I should talk with him about defending myself against them?" He asked, that would be an interesting conversation but if he knew how then Kliken would be sure to seek him out.

Tural paused in what he was doing, watching the pair for a moment before he returned to what he was doing. He knew that name, Chath... Chath... he cocked his head to the side and gave a huffing sound as he recalled the boy. Yes... that one, he was rather nice but his dragon was scary and wanted to eat Tural if the Cruzoor recalled right. He didn't want to meet up with that one again.

Kuyoja nodded his head to confirm that Kliken was right. He should ask Chath more about the subject as he seemed an expert on defenses against dragons since his own seemed rather hostile. He moved back into position trying to get back to self defense as this was not a question and answer class.

Of course if Kliken had any more questions he would answer them.

"Shall we try the move again? Try striking out using your palm like I demonstrated." He instructed.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 17, 2009 10:15 pm

Kliken nodded his head as he shifted back into standing as he had been told to stand, moving how he'd been told to do, and striking out with his palms as he'd been shown to do. He did it repeatedly, until the motion was done in a smooth manner. While he didn't like fighting this all seemed like a good idea in the long run, to be able to defend himself and not only himself but what about people who didn't seem as though they would be any better at fighting then he was? People like Saedah? He thought for a moment on the snake girl as he did the strikes before he clicked his sharp teeth together.

He shouldn't think to hard on that sort of thing. He couldn't even protect himself let along others and he was no hero type, he'd leave that to other people who were better equipped mentally and physically for the task. If he were he wouldn't hide out in his room instead of going out and about like people his age might normally do.

Tural's tail started to thump against the ground as he watched his boy, he was looking so serious... to serious if you asked the Cruzoor. It meant that he was thinking really hard on something again. In times like this the dragon normally went about tackling his boy, using his girth to knock him over or he would chew on him... given they were in the middle of a class though he would behave himself. After the class was over though he would do so, to make his boy break free of that introverted mood he seemed to be sinking into far to often of late.

Kuyoja watched as Kliken seemed to focus once again on the lesson rather than asking more questions. Not that he was adverse to answering them in fact he usually encouraged them but Kliken needed as much practice as he could if he really wanted to master the basics in self defense.

He nodded his head as he felt that he had learned the first move well enough and decided on teaching him another move.

"Good, now if you want to avoid physical contact, or any physical interactions with your opponent learning to move out of the way or using your hand to deflect hits is the best method. We will apply the striking palm method for this."

He explained as he moved his hand so instead of his palm facing the leech boyhe tilted it so it looked more like a karata chop his thumb towards his body.

"Holding your hand this way, it acts like a deflector. If a fist came at you you would use your hand to basically cut a path in the air and skim across the other person's length of the arm forcing them to move their arm out of the way. Understand?"
