Everything was silent, and gentle, and safe - at least he thought so, for a flicker of a moment, surrounded by his own element as he was - until he remembered - the portal, In... A sudden pain at the back of his head... Blue eyes snapped over wide, and it was only then that Rou figured out the source of his temporary comfort. He was underwater. For some reason. He had no idea how long it had been since he wound up here - but the last thing he was worried about was drowning. His tied hands, however, were a much greater concern, as was the fact that the world would not stop spinning, and the back of his head would not stop hurting - Rou let out a soundless groan of pain, sending small air bubbles dancing toward the surface - which seemed so far away... It took quite a few attempts - Rou had lost count - before he could free his hands from the bindings, and then remove the heavy rocks that had been put in his belt pouches - why ? By who ? In... ? - and could then allow himself to swim back to the surface. The brown-haired boy takes a few breaths of the more potent air before looking around him - he had no idea where he was - to finally upward. The portal was gone. "Master ?"Silence. "....In... ?"He was alone. His head hurt. Rou closed his eyes and let himself sink chin deep in the water, apparently not quite willing to leave it's embrace just yet. His hands had been tied. There had been rocks in his belt pouches, where he knew there had only been lightweight shells before. He had been alone with In. Staring at the strange portal. ....So In must have... hit him, tied him up, pulled him in the water... though the portal ? That could explain why he had no idea where he was now, why nothing was familiar where it -should- be... ...Did In try to kill him ? No, surely he couldn't... But he'd never felt truly okay with the older boy. There was always the nagging feeling of something bothering him. And surely In knew he could absorb the oxygen of the water and that trying to drown him was useless. ....He did not like to think about it. Rou swam his way out, then, not minding his wet robes as he looked over to his surroundings once more. Nothing familiar. Nothing. No-one. Panic lingered at the corners of his mind, and he squeezed his eyes shut in attempt to stop the tears. No no no no no no this could not be happening... But it was. The boy let out a sigh, and for perhaps the first time of his life, felt truly lonelyHe would stand there, sniffling and crying, for quite awhile, before it occurred to him that he needed to find something to eat and some place to stay. Once he managed to calm down, he could try to find his Master...

Junyi There is an approaching wall of warm, gooey, sickly sweet projections layered so thickly that it can absolutely not be cut with a knife. Maybe not even with a chainsaw. A laser, well. Obviously, a laser can cut through it. Lasers, after all, can apparently cut through ANYTHING. But since there are no happiness-slicing doom lasers in the vicinity, the wall continues its approach to the udon-ya as one giddy grandfather carrying a shoebox skips across the grass, his forward momentum stopping only when he pauses to twirl like a five-year-old girl pretending to be a ballerina. Perhaps this level of nauseating cheer should be outlawed. Zero Dream Following the source of the near-radiation level of sweetness, there is a new face padding along, who seems more distinctly confused by the recent events. Everything was nice and quiet and then
BAM
babies. and PEOPLE. PEOPLE ALL OVER THE PLACE. Needless to say, Rou had been playing the role of the mute porcelain doll in the corner for the last few days, as well as feeling like a stranger caught up in something he did not quite belong in.
Though it was hard to feel that way when Master Boyan was so happy about the whole events, and about his grandson and granddaughter. He'd insisted Rou was to come with him today, for reasons that the young porcelain yet ignored...
...But that was probably so he could see the photos again. Junyi Boyan has no room in his mind to even BEGIN to consider how anyone in their right mind would NOT want to go through his shoebox full of FAR too many photos to have been sanely taken in three days. But also, he thinks, perhaps getting out and meeting more Porcelain-- more who have a better idea of what happened to Rou than Boyan does-- is a good idea. A very good idea indeed. And not an excuse to show off the photos to a wider audience. No, no, not at all. Imperial Princess Rika Meanwhile, someone is crawling along the sidewalk in the opposite direction, as if hiding from the view of the houses behind the front yard fences. Crawl, crawl. Crawl, crawl. Every so often he pauses, dead still, to listen for the sound of footsteps of rustling clothes nearby.
... Dead still, that is, except for the still-flopping fish that is thrust into the front of his sash, next to a red fan and what appears to be a large shell.
His approach being stealthy and cautious as it is, the Mist Sorcerer immediately notices Boyan approaching from the opposite way, and takes immediate maneuvers. ... Somewhat ill-thought-out evasive maneuvers, though, as he jerks towards Tenkyuu's house, as if intending to dive into the bushes, but collides with the very fence he had just been using for cover. One loud wooden-toned thunk later, he is sprawled out on the sidewalk, his limbs all tangled with each other, his mind projectionally silent but his mouth emitting a low incoherent string of gurgles and hisses.
Epic Backstab Maneuver Failed, apparently. Dorielf Dori walks down the street, wearing her favorite red suit, despite the heat. She didn't frequent this part of town, but after the other day she felt compelled to return and find out more about the strange noodle shop she had found. Approaching the udon-ya from the opposite direction of the overjoyed-grandparent and his companion, she walks into the radius of good feelings. Dori tastes the air.... sappy? Junyi Boyan knows that sound. He's made it so many times before, on so many different structures... He interrupts his gleeful projections with a quick note of sympathy; he's been there. He's been there a l-- ... Wait, is that-- Oh. No, no, no, it's just... "Misty?" Imperial Princess Rika Urchins and rays!
The Mist Sorcerer attempts to scurry away, though it is not entirely clear where he is trying to go. Fumei As the smile widens on Silver's face, so does his aura of unrestrained light bubbly happiness. He could sense even more strongly the ever familiar, incoming future NOM on his sleeve. Perhaps he should have brought the blue squeaky duck the godfather had dropped off. Boyan was here. And they both had wonderful news to share! KIDSKIDSKIDSKIDSKIDSKIDSKIDSKIDSKIDSKIDS~~~~! So as Silver happily skips on with his picnic basket to bring to Setsushi's... he's a bit more than surprised at all the happiness (and non-happiness) there. HARRO? ANYONE WANT TO GREET TEH SILVER? Zero Dream ...And now Rou is ever more confused.
...Are you alright ? He projects, even as this "Misty" seems to attempt to flee. That had to hurt, honestly...
And then there is the woman, to which he offers a polite bow in despite really wanting to just duck into some cave now... He did not like having to deal with too many peoples at once...
At Silver's very loud projection, the young boy almost jumps in surprise. Whoa ! Imperial Princess Rika Rou and the Mist Sorcerer both, apparently, as the older Sorcerer finally manages to grope blindly to the front gate of Tenkyuu's house and crawl onto the grass, towards a line of weeds and ungroomed bushes.
And there, he will lie in wait, ready to spring... if... he... can... fit... under them...
His behind wiggles hopelessly in the air a few moments before a loud "tch!" cuts the air as his fish falls forward out of his robes. At this rate, it's going to die... stressed Junyi It'll be okay, Boyan reassures Rou. After all, Boyan is here, and that has to count for something right? Right? And as he begins to greet the new face, as he watches the flopping fish with a mixture of fascination and horror, something RIPS his attention away. Boyan... Boyan will be right back. At this, he breaks into a sprint and BARRELS toward Silver, clutching his shoebox tightly so that the lid doesn't get knocked off. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE blaugh Dorielf Dori watches the antics of the strange doll-like people, both embarassed and amused. Turning to the seemingly youngest of the bunch, she says: "Erm, hi, I'm Dori. I was here the other day, and I thought I'd stop by to see if the shop was open... people aren't going to be tackling people a lot are they?" Fumei Silver finds himself wondering what was in that shoebox Boyan is carrying, only able to wonder about the different people behind Boyan before he smiles and puts down his picnic basket. BOYAAAAAN~ heart KIIIIIIIIIIIDS~! heart Whoelseisheretobragaboutkidsandstuff? Zero Dream ...That poor fish, Rou thinks sorely to himself. He would have probably tried to do something about it, if he was not so busy being completely confused out of his mind.
...Uh.
Before he can point out that he can, in fact, see Misty, his attention is diverted by the woman. Could she understand him ? He'd ran into many so far that seemed completely deaf to mental speech, and he was not the best at talking with his mouth and...
AAAAAAA MASTER BOYAN-
....Is not paying attention to him anymore. And he doesn't want to upset her, so Rou will try.
"...Rou do not know." The words come out somewhat accented and clumsy, but for the most part understandable. Junyi Kids and grandkids are momentarily forgotten in favor of the old friend Boyan hadn't seen in years, the one he'd initially confused Misty for this evening, the one whose shoulder Boyan's mouth is now clamped firmly on, as if his sleeve were some mystical pacifier or-- Really, it's hard to know what goes through Boyan's mind sometimes. But if the happy squealing is any indication, it's probably a safe bet that " blaugh " is a large part of his thoughts at the moment. Imperial Princess Rika ... ... ... Staring down at the dying fish, and looking back at the undisguised lower three-quarters of his body, the Mist Sorcerer finally realizes it is too late to slip into the shadows, and so he pulls his head out of the bushes, grasps the fish's tail in one hand and rises, tossing his hair (now full of broken twigs and leaves) back over his shoulder and glaring imperiously at the congregation.
Humph!... Now how is he going to be able to get past a group that large without talking to them... Fumei XD Squee. Ahem. Silver tries to keep his giddy excitedness under control. Ehhhh? Has it really been that long? Man, Silver will never be able to live this down! gonk He's been gone so long he hasn't even noticed. Will Boyan forgiv-- Hm. Boyan is still ever so the same, XD even the way Silver remembers his sleeves is the same when Boyan is done with them. And wait, Misty? Who can be like TEH SILVER?! Then Silver blinks, and then pays attention to the others other than Boyan. Hmmm. Dorielf Feeling rather intimidated by crazy man with the fish, and MORE intimidated by the crazy glomping man, Dori edges behind the relatively calm Rou. Maybe she should come back another time... eek Zero Dream Thankfully(?) for Misty, Rou seemed to have picked up that the odd man did not WANT to be talked to or otherwise acknowledged, so he leaves him be, dying fish or no. hopefully he'll find some water in time... While Rou wants only to help people, he had learnt a long time ago that one cannot aid someone who doesn't wish to be aided.
After all, the last thing Rou wants is being confused AND being yelled at. This was never a good combination on the shy boy.
Turning his attention outside of his inner thoughts and back to Dori, he seems rather embarrassed.
...Rou is not exactly tall enough to be hidden behind, he projects experimentally. sweatdrop Dorielf "I'm sure you make a good shield from glomping regardless." Dori pauses. Wait a min... She reaches out her hand towards Rou's face, then stops, thinking better of it. "Your... your lips didn't move when you spoke," she states in surprise. Imperial Princess Rika ... ... ... Well, it does look like a good percentage of the congregation is brain-damaged, so perhaps the Mist Sorcerer will not need to come up with any clever excuse in particular.
Instead, he steps over the low front fence of Tenkyuu's house, dusting himself off -- careful observers might note that the unfortunate piece of fabric that had once been missing has been replaced by a piece of slightly-mismatched lavender cloth, sewn in neatly with white thread(?). He then grabs the red fan out from his belt, flicking it open deftly and concealing his face behind it as he attempts to just... walk past.
... ... ... Except that that motion seems to have loosen his already-loose belt, and the careless knot that had one been holding his robes together comes loose, the bit of cloth falling to the ground. ... The Mist Sorcerer, for his part, seems more focused on getting away from Silver and Boyan, and does not appear to notice as he strides on rapidly, his robes starting to unfold... Junyi Boyan's mind, once a puddle of happy goo, has slowly returned to reality. He stops drooling on Silver's sleeve long enough to glance back at Rou and Dori (Look, Rou, look! It's Boyan's bestest best friend!) --But once again, something new has occurred to him. He blinks once, twice, three times. And stares at the Mist Sorcerer as his robe comes open. He can hear Shuuken in his mind right now, going on about bananas and berries. And Boyan has only one word of his own. .... "...Naked." Zero Dream So the lady can in fact hear Rou when he projects ? Ah, this makes it all somewhat easier and less hide-under-a-rock worthy.
What Rou is doing is projecting instead of talking like she does, he informs the woman. Most Gaians seem to not be able to understand such projections...
And it was then that his explaination seems to cut short, as he seems to notice Misty's robes start to unfold...
...While he seems to be far out of projection range, and talking out loud would only draw more attention on the man's soon to come state of undress.
.... gonk What should Rou do ?!
U-Um, the lady might wish to look in the other direction if she does not wish to be further weirded out... sweatdrop Fumei BFF FOREVAH~ Silver happily squees again, before once again looking at the boy and woman trying to hide. Or at least, not seemingly all that used to happy, loud, unwieldy TEH SILVER. But of course, this takes no precedent as he feels the hairs on his neck prickle as he sees a familiar flash of light brown hair... Wait... AGH! The image is getting stuck into Silver's head! He can't unsee it! And so, Silver flails at "Misty" as a loud "NOOOOOOOOOO" can be heard-- in thought. Dorielf Of course, Rou's suggestion to look the other way causes Dori to invariably do the opposite. "Oh my," redface Dori quickly averts her face. Then covers her ears in an attempt to block out the horrified shouting, not realising it's in her mind, not her ears. This outing quickly turned pg13+! Imperial Princess Rika He thought that he had nearly escaped -- but then that mental assault from Silver hits him, and the Mist Sorcerer leaps away, the fan snapping shut, then dropping to the ground as he whirls around, trying to find more secure footing. His hand reaches for the makeshift knife at his belt and... ... ...
... ... ...
Looking around his feet stupidly, the dying fish giving a few more desperate flops as he does so, the Mist Sorcerer can't seem to find it confused Junyi Rou, Boyan thinks, can't do anything, really. Misty seems to enjoy being free as the wind and dangly as the-- Huh! Boyan thinks, maybe-- no, definitely. Misty looks just like Silver! 3nodding Zero Dream ...Rou isn't sure he'll be able to unsee this either.
But then why can't he look away ? gonk Fumei GAH! gonk The Mist Sorcerer looks NOTHING like TEH SILVER! gonk TEH SILVER is not so shameless! At least, not so ... dangly.. and.... white and pasty and... augh!! So this is where Mist Sorcerer has been!! Tch. And Silver gives a sigh, before looking at Boyan, then to the newcomers he hadn't been paying attention to. He blinks, trying to distract himself from the sight of Mist Sorcerer. .... He has no words. crying Boyaaaaaan~ Imperial Princess Rika Shame, at least of the sort most people associate with nudity, seems an alien concept to the Mist Sorcerer. It must be some other sort of emotion that is causing his face to change color now.
... W, well! It isn't the Mist Sorcerer's concern if living in the soft world of women has given these idiots bizarre and unnatural notions about their bodies... !
It's not quite clear what the Mist Sorcerer means by that garbled projection, but he doesn't seem inclined to stick around and elaborate. Instead, he turns in a whirl of long hair and fabric, stomping quickly towards the udon-ya. Dorielf Since in seemed no one else planned to do anything, Dori shrugs off her jacket and sprints towards the Mist Sorcerer, coat held at arms length and eyes still carefully averted. "You, uh, you, uh, may want to cover yourself..." she mumbles quietly and trails off, face turning bright red. Then stands there looking embarassed as he stomps away. "Uh...never mind." >.>;; Junyi Which reminds Boyan... OH! That's right! The Udon-ya! That's where they'd been going all along! He has all these photos that he took that he has to show off and even though Rou already saw them, he GETS TO SEE THEM AGAIN! 3nodding Isn't he lucky? Wait up, Mistyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy gonk Imperial Princess Rika ... Sadly, it looks like the Mist Sorcerer will not be able to make as clean an escape as he intended. First, the human ... ... ... human? female swoops at him, and he almost climbs the fence beside him in a start. ... Then, it seems, the false Celestial Oracle is chasing him, and he breaks into a run to try to dash up the steps of the house before he is captured.
Must... finish... mission!! Fumei Silver sighs as Boyan rushes off to show off baby stuffs. gonk Where was everyone gooooing? Not towards pasty Mist Sorcerer! Gah. So Silver looks to the boy, and picks up his picnic basket. So.... Can't unsee it? Dorielf Dori turns back to the two who haven't run off to the udon-ya. "Well, it was interesting meeting you Rou, but I think I need to head home now and wash my eyeballs out. burning_eyes Maybe I'll see you again sometime? You can tell me more about that neat way of talking you have!" Dori smiles at both of them and waves, before heading on her way. Zero Dream In despite it all, really, there is... some sort of curiosity in seeing just how all this madness was supposed to end.
Like a trainwreck, perhaps - Rou simply could not look away, so watch he does, emanating confusion about as thick as Boyan's previous syrupy happiness.
....Wait, is Rou's staring at the man's behind ?...
...
...
...
Rou doesn't think he's supposed to be doing that or like the view, really, and thankfully catches himself by the time Silver pays attention to him.
Nope. Can't unsee it. Imperial Princess Rika Finally, he manages to scramble up the steps, make a sliiiiding turn, and practically fall into the udon-ya's tiny bathroom.
Ha! The Mist Sorcerer cackles as he pulls himself up from the floor, panting but grinning with malicious glee, and flips open the toilet seat to drop the fish into the shallow water.
Success!!
... ... ...
Or, not, the Sorcerer notes as the leans over the body of the newly-dead animal.
... Does this mean he'll have to go through this... all over again...!? Fumei Silver wrinkles his nose. So much for bragging about babies and stuff. Silver takes note of Rou. "So." Silver rolls his word with his tongue, still trying to get used to speaking. "How do you know Boyan?" Zero Dream Rou seems rather glad for the change of conversation.
Rou met Master Boyan after he had felt though a portal into this world - he had been kind enough to allow him to live with him, his wife, and his granddaughters until he can find a way to go back home. Fumei Another portal into the world, huh? That seems rather common nowadays. Or at least, Setsushi seemed to talk of one. Man, Silver had been out of the loop! crying Had he already missed Boyan's grandchildren?! WHERE ARE THE PICTURES-- Ah yes. So Rou is staying with Tsubame and Boyan? Oh wow, Tsubame came back? So much happening. crying So Rou isn't from... Gaia then? Silver rubs his chin. Zero Dream No, Rou is from the Golden World - he takes it that Silver is from this world, just like Master Boyan ? And there is indeed so much happening - there had been so much action since Master Boyan's grandchildren were born that it makes his head spin.
...Through he is not quite sure where Master Boyan went off to now. sweatdrop This could be problematic. Fumei Golden World? 3nodding What's that? sweatdrop Maybe he'll ask Boyan. And why is Boyan a master? D: He and Boyan are like, the same age! Kind of. Sort of? Eh. But yeah! Same diff! Zero Dream Well, Master Boyan is an sorcerer both older and more talented than he and
and
...
It was not his intention to insult Master Silver. sweatdrop Hopefully he will forgive Rou ? Fumei Silver scratches his head. Oh no, Rou didn't insult Silver. Silver's just.... well... it's kind of strange to see Boyan be called Master. And when did Boyan become a sorcerer?! He's always had something about him Silver couldn't put his finger on... But hm... Silver doesn't need to forgive Rou, for there's nothing to fight or forgive. He pats Rou's head. Man, there's too much Silver has missed. And now Rou is a cool new guy in Boyan's home! So that means... ninja Rou can be Silver's cool new friend! Zero Dream Ahh, Rou understands now. He thinks. sweatdrop
Has Silver not noticed the chaoses ? ...Erm, the "shinies" following Master Boyan ?
But it's not really important, he adds with a smile. Rou would really enjoy being Silver's friend ! But maybe he should go back now, and try to find where Master Boyan went of to... sweatdrop
...Ah ! eek Rou has an idea ! Maybe Silver can go look for Master Boyan with Rou, and then they can all head home and Silver can catch up with all that he has missed ? Fumei Well, Silver is like Boyan. They grew up together! 3nodding Just a little different in perosnalities of course. Shinies that follow Boyan? Well, last time Silver was Boyan, things like that seemed to come more often.... like when they were in.. Well anyway. So those were chaoses? What's that? sweatdrop Silver will have to agree. He smiles. He will follow Rou where he goes.

Rou had followed the two adults back to Master Boyan's home, though he doubted neither of them really noticed him. That was fine. Right now, it was better that way. He had slipped away some time ago, leaving them to their very loud squeeing and wriggling his way into what he had learned was a treehouse that had been built a long time ago by one of Master Boyan's non-porcelain grand-daughters. It was crooked in all places, the floor creaked when he shifted his weight on it to nest in a corner, and the rain tinkled in from one hole in the roof, but that was all oddly soothing.
He would need to apologize to them later, but right now, he desperately does not want to be found.
He felt lonely. So horribly lonely. No matter what, he could not stop thinking about him.
About his Rou-Dai. How was he, was he doing well ? Did he think he was dead ? Was he mourning him, or... had he already forgotten him, and had In taken all the place in his Master's heart ?
And about his father, whom he knew would learn of his disappearance eventually, of the loss of his only child, and have to deal with being all alone once more...
The thoughts made his own sink, and he buried his head in his knees. He had not wanted to leave his master - not not, not at the end of his apprenticeship, not ever...
The boy gave a soft whine. He liked Master Boyan, of course, and Lady Tsubame, but he wanted to go home Home to his beloved master and to his loving father, both which he missed deeply.
He bit his lip, forcing himself not to cry. He was much too old for that, to keep on crying like a young child. Wasn't he ?
He wanted to be a gentle, kind, talented and beautiful sorcerer like his father and, mostly, like his beloved master. He wanted to be able to help other, make them feel warm and happy. He wanted to be able to stand his ground, but not like In. Never, never like In. Never by hurting others.
Right now, he was just a scared child quivering in a treehouse.
He waits for the wave of pain, of deep sadness and emotion to ripple away from him before he stops to think as clearly as a very emotional boy is able. What should he do now ? He wants to go back home, but he isn't quite sure how. That might take a very long time, he is not holding himself to any disillusion on the matter.
So what would his beloved master would want him to do ? What should he do ? It isn't an easy thing. He'd always had his father or Rou-Dai to help him with hard things like this before...
But the rain is light, refreshing and soothing. It seems to help him think a little.
plick
plick
plick
And now he did not. And if he could not think for himself, then he might as well just remain a scared, crying boy in a treehouse forever.
Rou-Dai would want him to keep trying, wouldn't he ? He would want him to keep on going. To practice and try to learn as much as he could on his own. He might not be able to learn much of anything new, but he might be able to better himself in divination, and some of the active spells he knew but had far from mastered... What incantations he remembered, at the very least.
Maybe Rou-Shou can be a beautiful, gentle, kind master. Maybe he can become someone which others go to for advice like his father and his beloved master.
But if he does never dare to take his first steps alone, he shall never be so.

~Lady Kanna~ Meirou sighed, walking up the street towards the udonya, hoping that perhaps Setsushi would actually be there, unlike her last few visits, and that some udon would be eaten. Or something cold... Summer had begun to peek at the city, temperatures rising to a mellow 72 degrees, children playing as they got off school, and the latest fashion starting to blossom in society.
She sighed, finally reaching the store front, peeking into the shop with a projection of greeting. Is anyone here? Zero Dream Rou had managed to wriggle himself out of one other particularly lengthy grandkids-photo-sessions quire a few hours earlier (he could not help but wonder, amusingly, if Master Boyan had yet realized it) and had dared to venture further away toward the forests - and to show for it, the boy was now carrying a basket of berries (he was not sure what, or if they were even edible - he would need to inquire) and two fish - the trick would be finding some way to smoke them... Hopefully Master Boyan would not be opposed to the use of his backyard for the purpose... If so, um, well... He figured Lady Tsubame would be able to do something with them. sweatdrop ~Lady Kanna~ The udonya being once again empty, the porcelain headed in the direction of Boyan's house, having wondered if the happy man had yet gotten the cake, or if perhaps, Madame Melody had her babies~. She smiled, glancing in the backyard as she made her way to the front, only to stop. A different one..? However, she still projects a polite greeting with a smile.
Hello. She is wondering if this is indeed Boyan's house? Meirou could be mistaken... sweatdrop Zero Dream Rou had quite gracefully leaped over the fence before projections stopped him, and made him turn. And then. he gives Meirou a bright, but shy, smile.
Yes, this is indeed Master Boyan's house, though he does not know if he is home or if he had left during his absence. He just might still be squeeing over the photos of his grandchildren..
...again...
..for the 15th time this day... sweatdrop
Rou can go see if he is in, if she likes ? ~Lady Kanna~ Melody had her babies? Meirou is so happy everything went well~. Is sir Melody's husband, or just a family friend? 3nodding Miss is Meirou~.
Meirou lets ecstatic projections bounce all around the area, clearly relieved and more than happy.
Ah yes~. Meirou would like to see if Boyan got his cake from Melody, and to thank him a little more personally, since when she returned from the Space Danish, he wasn't home~. Junyi Boyan's house is eerily quiet- though there seems to be a faint, nondescript psychic haze blanketing the vicinity, as if everyone within is asleep. --Which means that the photographic assault seems to have ended. At least for the moment. If one chooses to look through the window, they may find quite a sight on the living room sofa-- Boyan sitting, head tilted backward and mouth hanging open, seemingly dead to the world. One can almost HEAR loud, cartoonish snoring coming from him. And in his arms-- or rather, one in each arm-- there is a comfortably swaddled, sleeping newborn. And no Melody in sight. Zero Dream An, no, Rou is not Melody's husband, he gently corrects. He simply lives here until he will be able to go back home, as Master Boyan and Lady Tsubame were very kind to allow him to do so.
Meirou only has to follow him, and they shall see, hmmm ? The house seems definitively much more quiet than when he had left it, though hopefully she does not mind if he prepares his fish ? If he want them all good and done before it gets too dark, he should get started on them soon... Shiori Tonbo Boyue is Melody's husband! He corrects gently, a small smile on his face as he comes into the room. He has been off in another room so that Boyan and the babies could have some quality time together without mommy and daddy hovering...in which Boyan has apparently decided that 'bonding' means 'sleeping'. Well, that is all right. Babies have not been sleeping well at home for some reason.
And Melody is...where, exactly? Boyue is sure that he left her in another room, but did not see her there when he finished working on his Top Secret Project. ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou smiles, adding a just as gentle apology. So did Rou come from the Golden World as well? Meirou came from there...Way back about 7 months ago.
Meirou peeks in the window, smiling gently at seeing the sleeping Boyan, but then a happy eager squeal escapes from her, though very quiet as to not disturb the three. Twins~! 4laugh Oh my goodness cute~! So cute~! heart heart
However, she stops as soon as Rou asks her a question. Ah. Yes. Cooking is fine with her~.
And Hello to Melody's husband~! Meirou projects another happy happy greeting to Boyue. So this is the new father? Congratulations on such ADORABLE little ones~! ...Well, what little she saw through the window, anyway. sweatdrop
Meirou isn't sure where Melody ran off to~. But she would LOVE to give her a hug and see if the cake she left for her and Madame Baikou was good~. Zero Dream Rou is also from the Golden World, he confirms - though he is a much more recent arrival than Meirou... He's still trying to get his baring straight in this place.
Rou does not know where Melody is, the dark-skinned boy projects to Boyue as he makes his presence known with a polite smile. The boy does not quite know him and Melody alot so far, but he does seem to be quite fond of then and the twin, if one were to judge by his projections. Rou has just returned a minute ago and met Meirou. He went fishing, see ? And he found some berries, though he is not quite familiar with them and is not quite sure if they're safe.
The strawberries in the baskets were bright red, juicy, and definitively not poisonous, though the boy did not quite know of such yet.
Though it is rather quiet - the projection is quite abruptly cut off by Meirou's squeeing.
Oh, Master Boyan's asleep. That's why. xd Junyi Zzzz, say Boyan and the twins. And a faint projection from the bathroom-- one Boyue may recognize as Melody's: zzz.Shiori Tonbo Boyue nods thoughtfully. Well, he will look for Melody another time. Wherever she is, she is hopefully getting some much-needed rest. With the babies awake half the night, their parents are up half the night too!
...he catches the projection then, blinking a bit.
If Mr. Rou and Ms. Meirou will excuse Boyue for just a moment, he thinks he may actually know where she is. Also, he is pretty sure that Boyan will be fine with the cooking of foods in the backyard.
With that, he scoots on in to the bathroom where he got the projection and gently knocks on the door.
Melody? Junyi "Nnnh." Melody protests, only half-waking at the knock. She shifts, water sloshing quietly as she removes one arm from the lukewarm water and dangles it outside the tub. Bubbles and water drip onto the rug, but she doesn't even seem to notice. It would seem what began as a relaxing bath before a nap has become a nap in the relaxing bath. Shiori Tonbo Sensing that she isn't doing anything terribly personal (even being married, Boyue is very careful about things that might be embarrassing for either one of them!) he opens the door gently, kneeling down to take her hand.
Melody should perhaps nap in a bed and not in the bath? Boyue is worried that she might slip too far down into the water while she is sleeping...if she likes, he will carry her? ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou smiles, watching Boyue go to find his wonderful wife as she steps over to observe the berries Rou has gathered.
Oh strawberries~! They're just in season, and these look wonderful! She looks them over with a smile, nodding.
If Rou needs any help around the city, Meirou would be more than happy to help out. Kanna, her sort-of-caretaker, works all day at the symphony, so Mei could come and show him around when she's got free time, if he wants. 3nodding
Ah, and strawberries are perfectly safe to eat, though you might want to wash them first. Zero Dream Rou doubted Master Boyan would mind, but he still thought it was better to ask first. If smoking is not an option, though, then he assumed Lady Tsubame would be able to do as she wished with them, so he went ahead and caught some fish anyway.
The berries were an afterthought. sweatdrop
Rou heads toward the kitchen then, and starts gathering the tools he need, as silently as possible as to not disturb the rest of Master Boyan and the twins. Meirou is more than welcome to accompany him if she chooses, he projects with another smile. He would be quite glad for her help in getting settled, as right now he only knows of the very basic ways around town. Porcelain Boyue As Rou comes through the room, Eiji peeks open one little eye, but remains quiet as usual. He watches as the older Porcelain rustles about, then yawns sleepily, snuggles up against Boyan, and closes his eyes again. Junyi Melody opens one eye, finally waking enough to answer Boyue. Oh...? sweatdrop Was she in here long? Melody must've lost track and-- Her thoughts trail off as she considers Boyue's offer of carrying her. At first, she can feel her lips curling into a mischievous smile, her projections seeming to ask "Oh, REALLY?"... But then she quickly realizes where she is, just WHO is out in the living room, the dull aches that had receded since the babies were born but not QUITE disappeared, and the conversation taking place just outside the house. And she seems to visibly wilt. No, no, no, she can get out on her own, and she really should address the guests and make sure Daddy and the kids are all right and-- She pulls the plug and climbs out of the tub, eyes scanning the room for just where on earth she put that towel... sweatdrop Just a minute, just a minute! She projects loudly enough to hopefully reach Meirou and Rou outside. She'll be out in just a minute! They can come inside if they want; the door's unlocked. ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou hasn't met Lady Tsubame...Is she Boyan's wife? 3nodding She feels bad for not knowing much of the family, but now she knows three of them~!
Meirou fallows, being quiet and gentle with her footsteps as she watches him gather the tools. This part of town is easy to get around in. But where Meirou lives, it's really confusing. She's met a lot of Porcelain in her part of town, but this part of town reminds her of home the most....Though it's not by the sea...
She looks down, face strangely reminiscent and projections a slightly garbled whisper. Why did it happen? Porcelain Boyue Boyue puts a hand firmly on Melody's arm. NO. Melody should calm down. The babies are fine, Boyan is fine, the guests are fine, and Melody should take some time to relax and rest and calm. She is still not 100% yet and Boyue didn't have to go through all that like she did, so he can keep an eye on things for now! Besides, the babies are sleeping! Junyi "Oh," says Melody. Drip. Drip drip. Meanwhile, in the living room, Boyan stirs, eyes blinking open as he hears... Strawberriestsubamewhat? eek Zero Dream ...Rou doesn't know. Rou really doesn't know. He felt in a portal, and there he was... It's been bothering him too, to be honest. He had heard that this as also happened to others, though Meirou is the first that he's met, as far as he knows.
The boy takes a moment to plop down in the grass, before projecting a tad louder. Everything's fine, Melody ! R-Rou didn't want to accidentally wake everyone ! crying
With a light sigh, the dark-skinned porcelain plops down in the grass and, knife in hand and cedar board on the ground, he begins to carefully scale the pair of fish. Porcelain Boyue Eiji snuggles a little more aggressively against his grandfather. He is -sleepy-! He just wanted to see what was going on and now that he knows he wants to go back to happywarmsnuggle place. Boyue gently brushes wet strands of hair behind Melody's ears and hands her the towel. Now that she is done panicking like Boyue, would Melody like to dry off and perhaps go take a proper nap? If she really wants to, she can say hello to everyone first and maybe give the babies and Boyan a kiss, but Boyue is quite sure that she should stop worrying and start napping. ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou sits down next to him, not saying much of anything, but looking rather sad. Ah.... .. There are others.....Kouyo...Setsushi....Rika...Baikou...Hitsuga...
But they're adults....As for kids...
Meirou doesn't think she knows that many...Rou may be the first.
After finishing her train of thought, she goes back to the silent reminiscing, staring down at the grass and ground. Junyi Melody thinks Boyue may have a point... sweatdrop And Boyan, rising from the couch and keeping both babies as steady as possible, has his mind firmly set on strawberries. And while he's certain it wouldn't be a good idea to take them outside-- at least, not yet-- he's still hopeful that somebody out there might remember poor old Boyan, stuck inside, with his arms full and his stomach with a void that only strawberries can fill! gonk Now, the other sibling is stirring, whimpering audibly as tired, irritated projections cloud the air around her. SLEEPY. stressed Zero Dream It is very odd... and very bad. He can only assume his father and his master are fearing the wor-
...
If Meirou would excuse Rou for just a minute, he believe it might be better to take the berries inside before Master Boyan combusts, or something similar sweatdrop
Letting his knife down and raising from where he was sitting, he takes the basket and slides back inside.
Master Boyan had a nice nap, he hopes ? Rou is so sorry he woke everyone up !!! gonk And hm... Rou has berries, he project, as he raises the basket to put it on the table. He also has fish, and does Master Boyan mind if he smokes them in the backyard ? Doing so inside would be a very, very, very bad idea, Rou assumes. And it's only smoke, so everything should be good.
After that, he sends a gentle, warm, and apologetic projection to the twins. Rou's sorry ! Shiori Tonbo Eiji projects sad, longing emotions of unhappy. He was -comfy- and now comfywarm is not quite as comfywarm and SAD. Boyue glances at the little ones, then back at Melody, then back at the babies. Boyue can...look after the little ones after Melody goes back into the other room to take her nap, so that Boyan can have yummies? Junyi Strawberries. 4laugh Boyan's mood immediately brightens at that. But he's not so sure about this smoking fish business... Smoking's a filthy habit, he scolds. It'll turn your lungs black and make your voice gravelly and not to mention the stink that clings like GLUE. And smoking fish? What IS it with you young people and smoking unusual things because you think it might feel good? You young punks these days, with your drugs and your rap music and your Gee-boi-turbos and your hippin' and a hoppin' and your bippin' and a'boppin' and...! stressed His rant comes to an abrupt and complete halt as he suddenly seems to recall that there is another meaning to the verb "to smoke." Ohhhhhhhhhhh. sweatdrop W-well then. (At this, he harrumphs.) That's fine, then. ~Lady Kanna~ "Rou is excused..." She mumbles as he leaves, building up a very weak wall that threatens to waver any second, just to keep decent in public and all.
Picking up the knife, she continues Rou's work silently, paying attention to where her fingers are so she won't cut herself. Though once she gets lost in her thoughts again...
.... ... Does Boyan or Rou have a bandaid? gonk Zero Dream Ahhh... eek
Ummmm... sweatdrop
M-master Boyan ?
....
When that seems to fail, he simply waits until he finishes by himself.
...Smoking fish is a way to prepare/cook it with smoke from wood chips, he offers helpfully. And if that make Master Boyan feel any better, Rou is not aware of most of the things he has just ranted about and probably will never have any interest in them if they're so bad... ? sweatdrop
.... But Rou has strawberries, the boy reminds Master Boyan, knowing that this should be a very good diversion.
Suddently, Rou perks. What ? Ahhh, Meirou !!! gonk Rou will be there in a second !!!! Junyi Band-aids are in the medicine cabinet! Boyan calls after Rou. Then he finally turns his attention to Boyue. Boyan's perfectly fine with the chibis, he assures his son-in-law. He's juggled two babies back in the day, and he can do it again without a second thought. Besides, Boyue must be tired too... ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou sits on the grass, watching her thumb drip crimson all over the grass and... ... Meirou thinks she's going to be sick. gonk
She looks away from the bloody appendage and ground, biting her bottom lip. It's just a little cut, right? gonk .. At that, she looks again, too curious to what happened.
..Uhm.. Maybe some BIG bandaids? gonk Zero Dream Rou had already reached said cabinet, it seemed, and passes by the two adults more like a blur of blue and brown than anything else.
Rou is sorrysorrysorrysorrysorrryyyy !!!!! gonk gonk gonk
The boy tumbles in front of Meirou then, bandaid closeby, though his first motion is to reach for the nearby water bowl he was going to use to wet the wood chips, bringing it closer. The water at the surface seems to twitch a little, but nothing happen.
Not working...
Rou then closes his eyes, and wait, just a moment, for the panic to roll off his mind like a wave before he graps tight control over it once more.
A dark-skinned hand reaches to take her own, then, and as barely audible words roll of his tongue, the water in the bowl begins to move - twirling upward, then washing across Meirou's cut to make sure there is no dirt or scale in there.
The water, however, splashes down rather unsuspectingly as Rou loses control of it, and it doesn't help. Rou messed up again ! stressed Rou is VERYVERYVERY SORRY !!!! gonk Shiori Tonbo It isn't that Boyue doesn't think Boyan can -handle- them, just that they don't seem to be sleeping anymore and that they need to sleep...they haven't been sleeping so well at home, after all. And Boyue still isn't sure how to help them with -that-.
He looks at their tiny faces, sighing softly. At least they are home all day so that they can take care of the little ones together. He cannot imagine how hard it would be if they had to work...Eiji squirms a bit, looking up at his grandfather. He loves the happywarm, but would like happywarm and sleep! Also, there are many people about and lots of things going on and Eiji is pretty sure he doesn't like this. He allows a small, soft mental sob to come forth, just so that everyone knows how he feels. ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou seems to be fine with the water for a while, though it starts to turn pink from the blood...Then..
SPLOOSH.
As soon as it hits her, her eyes go wide and she trembles.
NO! MEIROU DOESN'T WANT TO BE TAKEN AWAY AGAIN BY A WAVE! NO NO NO No No no no no..... crying
She curls up into herself, sobbing a little bit, still shaky and wide eyed. Junyi At the panicked projections outside, her Grandfather's concern, and ESPECIALLY Eiji's little cry of displeasure... It's up to Tsubaki to speak up for the both of them. "W....weh....eh...ehhnn.... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" gonk gonk gonk crying !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why yes. It would seem her lungs ARE in perfect working order. Shiori Tonbo FLAIL!
Boyue gently takes Tsubaki from Boyan with apologies, so that he can quiet her and Boyan can focus on Eiji, who is not quite...WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!.....crying yet sweatdrop Zero Dream ... eek
Rou, even in his panic, has the presence of mind to put the band-aid on before listening only to his impulse and pulling Meirou in a tight hug, not caring much that the leftover blood is getting all over his robes.
ROU IS SO- No, no, no, that doesn't help, stop it !
It's okay. Meirou is fine, Rou is right here, there's no wave to take her away.
Though it seems Rou is only good at screwing up...
At this point, he cannot help the tears from falling.
Rou is right here. And he's very sorry. Meirou is safe... There's no wave, only Rou, see ? Junyi "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--" This is not "--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--" going as Boyan "--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA..." planned. sweatdrop ...Which means that it's Melody's cue to come running, hurriedly tying the belt of her robe as she desperately tries to keep recently enhanced PARTS from bouncing OUT of places they should not be BOUNCING OUT OF-- gonk She'll take them! She'll take them! They can go to Grandpa's room where it's nice and quiet and... gonk ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou tries to hold back from sobbing, a little bit of her senses back, but can't even keep herself from shaking, so she bawls into Rou, clinging back for dear life.
Of course, the 'no's just get tinier and tinier until they just echo in her own mind and not everyone else's.
She stays very quiet for a long time, almost like a limp doll before she makes any attempt of responce.
Meirou messes everything up...She woke up the babies and...and made poor Rou have to think he's screwing up.... Shiori Tonbo Boyue gently strokes Tsubaki's hair, shaking his head at Melody and washing the little one in emotions of calm. He will take them into another room for sleepingness, and Melody can go in a DIFFERENT ROOM so she can sleep too, because Boyue knows that she will not sleep if she is in the same room as them. Or at least, won't sleep well because she'll wake up every time they move just in case they're waking up....Eiji clings tightly to Boyan's robes, sniffling and sobbing, though quietly now and projecting emotions of WOE! Zero Dream "Shhhh..." He goes, gently, not minding in the least even as the front of his robes end up wet with tears. His own keep on rolling, though silently.
Rou didn't know... Rou is the one who made her spazz, so it's his fault the babies are crying now. He'll take all the blame for it. But now that they calmed, hopefully the twins will, too ?
A dark hand raises, gently pushing a loose lock of hair from the side of Meirou's face.
Rou always messes things up. It's nothing new. Rou always end up messing up his spells and causing more harm than good - maybe he really belongs in the woods and not around other people.
If he'd known Meirou feared his element so, he wouldn't have... He wouldn't have... Junyi Does Boyue really want to have this conversation in front of Melody's father? gonk Shiori Tonbo Blinkblinkblink.
Oh. Boyue is sorry. He gives Tsubaki over to Melody, blushing a bit. ~Lady Kanna~ .... She clings even more when he blames himself, shaking her head. And when he brushes a stray lock back, she looks up, makeup smeared and looking like an absolute wreck.
"Stop blaming yourself..." She whispers quietly, projections still a quiet bit of healing trauma and just a tiny bit of sadness. "You were only doing what was best....And..."
It's not exactly that she has issues with water....Just...Attacking water when she's hurt and thinking about HOME. Everything adds up and....Meirou is so sorry.....She got makeup all over his robes. gonk Junyi Melody takes Eiji from her father with her free hand, her earlier apprehension of the idea of holding two babies at once apparently completely dissipated in the days since their arrival. And, she adds, she could really use Boyue's help... Which frees Boyan to rush out back with paper towels and peroxide. Is everyone all right? Rou? Little Meirou? Fishes? gonk Shiori Tonbo Boyue sends a wave of calm and understanding to Meirou and Rou. Everything is okay. Babies are like this all the time, and accidents happen! No reason to panick! ...as though he himself wasn't panicking a minute ago, ha!
He nods at Melody, gesturing towards the other room. Boyue will bring Tsubaki and try to keep her calm while Melody is calming Eiji.Eiji snuggles against his mommy, almost calm already though still sniffling a little bit and ready to wail again if Tsubaki starts up again and/or he is separated from her! ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou gives a quiet smile as he rubs the makeup away, glancing down shyly when he's done, only to realise she's still clinging to him. ... Is it ok if they just stay like this...for a while longer...?
However, she turns when Boyan comes panicking out of the house. Well, her finger hurts a little bit, and she's wet...And now a Young Lady! gonk Junyi Tsubaki is all cried out for the moment, though if she doesn't get fed soon, there's going to be one heck of a racket. Boyan didn't ask who messed what up; he asked if they were all right. Very different questions, Rou. Very very different questions. But it's okay now; Boyan has peroxide and paper towels and-- ... Since when did Little Meirou become Young Lady Meirou? He may have only seen her once, but to see a little girl sprout so quickly--! gonk Ah, how the world passes him by! Zero Dream It's okay. Meirou can stay here as long as she needs. It's not like the fishes are going to grow legs and walk away, and Meirou is much more important.
Rou... think they're allright now, but maybe Master Boyan should check on Meirou's cut to make sure Rou cleaned it correctly ? There were... eerrr.... complications with that. ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou smiles softly, leaning on Rou slightly.
Thank you.... She smiles, projecting it for only him, because he's the one who had to put up with her fit.
However, she gives a puffy-eyed smile to Boyan, switching back quickly. Meirou became a Young Lady when she stayed in the Space Danish for three years. All sorts of things happened that first year, like her growth spurt and such. And school. When she returned, Boyan wasn't home, so she ran into Melody and gave her a cake for him? Did he get it all right? Junyi Yes, yes, Boyan answers gently, wetting the paper towel with the peroxide and pressing it to her cut. And it was such delicious cake, too! He's so happy that Meirou thought of him and gave him something so wonderful to share with his family! 3nodding Though he thinks, perhaps, projecting this more to Rou than Meirou, he should probably finish this up quickly and leave the two of them alone, ah? Zero Dream ... ?
Rou seems, indeed, very confused. There's no need for Master Boyan to go if he doesn't want to.. ? Onmce Meirou feels better, they'll continue with the fishes. Though by now it's probably too late for them to be done for lunch...
And, completely clueless as to what the other is alluding to, projects this for the world at large. ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou leans a bit more against Rou, hoping maybe with a little example he'll understand, though she's not trying to actually make Boyan go away. Just help Rou understand.
But the fishies will be ready for a late lunch...A...Linner? Dunch? Some weird Gaian term for the time between Lunch and Dinner? And Meirou is more than happy to help Rou...Since he helped her.
She suddenly notices one of the stray tears from earlier, and gently dabs it away with a finger, projecting just a bit of worried feelings to him, and some comfort.
Then she snaps out of it and pays attention to Boyan.
Oh! Good, good. She's glad it got to Boyan, and that his entire happy family got some! Junyi Yyyyyeah. Boyan's. Just gonna go THAT way... sweatdrop With that, he makes a hasty retreat back into the house. Zero Dream ...........
.........Did Rou mess something up again ? sweatdrop ~Lady Kanna~ Nope. Rou didn't mess anything up! He just didn't understand what Boyan was asking him, and that's ok.
Meirou reassures him with a projection of warmth and comfort, resting her head on his shoulder for just a moment before pulling away, not about to be pushy.
So... How about those fishies? Zero Dream Rou seems rather glad for the change of conversation.
That seems to happen alot lately. sweatdrop
And thus, the dark-skinned porcelain return his attention to the fishies. Looks like a few more scales need to come off, then the tiny bones inside after he fllet-ed them. Then they should be all ready for smoking, though that's going to take a few hours by itself...
Even as he talks, he returned his attention to them, cleaning the blade on his robes before resuming his work. ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou smiles, watching him work and nodding when he talks about the steps to smoking these fishies.
So Rou grew up learning how to smoke fish and survive? Meirou's happy she's learning this now. You never know when you'll need to know that, right? Everything from a picnic to a post-apocalyptic world. What can Meirou do to help?
...
Besides wash his robes when he's done. sweatdrop Zero Dream Rou's been smoking fish for a long time. It's one of the first things he learned to do. As well as what golden world berries and mushrooms are edible and which ones arn't, what roots make good stew...
He's also pretty good at fishing, but Meirou might have guessed.
As for help... hmmm...
Meirou could get started on the smoking, maybe ? Just soak the wood chips in water, put them somewhere safe, and prop the rack over them with the two wooden sticks over there ? ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou smiles, listening to him again, seeming to enjoy small conversation with the boy, who is right around her age, for a change.
Did Rou collect shells? He seems to like water, so he probably walked near the shores of oceans, correct? Meirou liked collecting shells back home too. Her mother started her on it.
And sure thing. She's on that like...well...something. She doesn't feel like metaphors.
At that, she stands and makes her way over to the supplies, carefully putting the wood chips in to soak, as to not spill any water. Then, she works on the rack, breaking the long sticks in half to make four, then starts creating a prop. Zero Dream Rou did collect shells, yes. Sometimes could even barter them to jewelmakers in exchange of clothing and other things like that, though he's gonna admit he always kept the pretty ones for himself.
Though once he found a very pretty one, that he gave to his Master Rou-Dai. He really really liked it and Rou-Shou was so happy...
....Rou-Shou really misses Rou-Dai. But he would want him to keep on going, he's certain, so that's what he does.
Even as he projects, his attention is on the fish and not on Meirou - careful slices have it fileted in no time at all, and he's focusing on getting all the tiny bones out. ~Lady Kanna~ (( Well, innocent and kind male who makes sure a lady is alright before moving on. XD;;; And one sec, DS.. )) Meirou would always give the pretty ones to her mother, who would put them in a pretty little display case at their home. She wonders if there's any good shell-hunting places in Gaia. Maybe they could go together and fish and have fun.
Ah, so he's also missing people dear to him. Meirou is sure Rou-Dai misses Rou-Shou too. That's what happens when people are friends, or family, and apart from each other. But she's glad Rou hasn't given up.
She manages to make something like a mini-grilling table out of the grill and sticks, looking at her work, but not about to disturb Rou from his careful slicing. She has already proven distraction to be PAINFUL.Zero Dream Maybe they could, through they would need to find such place first...
Rou misses them alot, and he is certain it is the same for them... if they do not think he is dead. He misses his father a lot, but... Rou-Shou thinks he misses Rou-Dai the most. His gentle voice, his encouragements even when he was messing things up, with longs hair light as the sun, his movements like gentle waves...
...Rou-Shou stops himself there, as the knife is put aside and slender, dark fingers resume working on the surface of the meat. He's just being silly, and he'll get upset again if he keeps on thinking about it. Meirou understands, yes ? ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou sort of stops for a moment when it starts sounding a bit....lovey when he talks about Rou-Dai.
... ... Ah, yes. Meirou understands... A slight wave of distraction hits her again, finding herself fiddling with the band-aid over her wound. Is...Is Rou in love with Rou-Dai...? Forgive her for being so brash and girlish and bringing it up again and....well....sort of flirty...and....yeah.... She fiddles with her hands more, fidgeting. Seeing Rou reminds her of the Prince that rescued her when she was drowning...But that's just because he's so kind to her and saved her from herself and the wound and...and all that..Is Meirou ranting? Or saying too much? gonk Zero Dream It seems to be Rou's turn to stop, head looking up with a blink.
...In love with his master ?...
...
Rou-Shou's never really thought much about it. All he really knows is that the way he cares for Rou-Dai is different than the way he cares for most everyone else... Rou-Dai had always been there for him.
.....................
.....So Meirou met a prince ? He asks, most likely hoping for a conversation change. ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou decides she's obviously failing at talking, so she should just stop. ... After answering his question.
When the wave swept her away, which was rather ODD, because waves are never THAT STRONG where she was, she managed to get all banged up on some of the rocks, and some princely figure, whom she has decided was royalty, pulled her out of the waves onto his fancy boat and bandaged her. She thought she was dead at the time, so...She cowered in fear of the 'Silver World's Prince', and when she woke up, she was here in Gaia with his jacket. So that's how she got her. Yep. Pretty much it. ....Ok, Meirou is going to shut up now so Rou can focus on his work and not her useless blabbering.
But behind walls, she's actually thinking he loves Rou-Dai. Yep. No doubt. But...She'd love to see Rou happy..... She'll have to find a way home for him, even if he doesn't like her. Zero Dream If it is important to Meirou, then Rou doesn't think it's useless. And he can work and listen and talk all at once just fine~ Though that is up to Meirou if she wants to talk more about this or not. He doesn't want to make her feel bad.
...Again.
Rou's been doing a very good job at doing just that, though, hadn't he ? He's just a little lost wild boy, so to speak. So Rou is sorry if he made her feel bad. He didn't mean to.
Though he's afraid he doesn't know any princes, so he cannot help Meirou with that...
Running his fingers on the meat once more, it seems like he's got all the bones, so he rises once more - his robes a mess, though he does not seem to care - and goes toward the setup. Did Meirou do this before ? It really looks perfect !
He scoots the fish from the plank and on the rack, then fetch some matches to light up the chops. Soaked as they are, they do not catch fire - though heavy smoke rises almost instantaneously.
...Which Rou gets a face full of. gonk
Backing away a few steps, he shakes his head and give an audible laugh. Now's the boring part - they wait for it to be done~ ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou sits and watches him start up the fire, sighing and thinking to herself if it would be RIGHT to hypothesize. And of course, he's INVITING the conversation.... Meirou does her best to resist, but fails. Again.
Being a lost wild boy is better than being overly-worried about one person. You know how Rou likes Rou-Dai in a different way than other people? Meirou thinks she sort of feels that about someone too. And she's not sure what to do about it, because she's never really, y'know, had someone who's different. And she wants them to be happy, even though she's sure they don't like her in the way she likes them. But then again she's not completely sure about all this. What would Rou do if he was her?
She sits there, mildly blushing and glancing away, even though it's a total DEAD GIVEAWAY. And to think she had tried to prove Kanna wrong on this topic... Zero Dream Rou flops back on the grass, glancing up at the sky and watching the could lazily pass by over their heads.
What would Rou do ? Hm.
...That is indeed rather complicated. Rou would want that person happy most of all, he thinks, especially if it was a friend of his... he does not like to see people sad. But sometimes things don't happen as people intend them. If she still has that person as a friend, then not all's lost, right ?
Is she sure she truly likes that person that way ? Love is not a thing Rou really understands, to be honest. Maybe her feelings are like Rou's - she does not quite understand them ?
And sometimes, the only person who can help someone is themselves. This is something he's starting to understand, he thinks. That sometimes the only one who can make their own happiness is themselves. Sometimes people choose to be different, sometimes they're just forced to be that way by circumstances.
Usually these people are strong enough to be able to deal with it. Dealing with it is that person's... he doesn't want to say problem, but that's the only word that comes to mind, is not for Meirou to do.
It's for that person to do.
Meirou will find her prince - even if it is not the one she had met on the boat - one day, Rou is sure of it.
He keeps his gaze focused on the sky, though behind the much weaker wall of his mind... He's not honestly that dence. Rou likes Meirou, but... he's not even sure what love's supposed to be like, or if their definition of the feeling is even the same.
He's hurt her so much, and he hates himself for it. ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou ponders over his words for quite a while, enjoying the light summer breeze and the sunlight. What exactly is love supposed to feel like anyway? Kanna said she loves her music more than anything...And that is true. Meirou has watched her do ANYTHING possible to perfect it, and care for her instruments like children.
At last, she opens up her walls.
Love is something that will grow over time, so she's sure she'll know later. But it starts as a little tiny spark and grows into a huge dazzling star. That's why the sky's full of stars. Love.
Well, not really, but it's a nice idea.
But for now. ... ... Meirou thinks Rou needs... ... A candy.
At that, she pulls out a small delicate sugary drop, wrapped in a rice paper wrapper. Even if he doesn't eat it, it's still pretty. She hands it to him with a smile, also flopping down to watch the clouds.
THAT one looks like a top hat. Zero Dream Rou thinks... that he really likes that explanation. That love is something bright and special like a star.
Something to be treasured. Just like friendship. Friendship is a very new concept to Rou, he had to admit.
Blinking once, he unwrap the candy as delicately as he could and slides it into his mouth. ...Hmmmm, that does taste very good ! Where did Meirou get it ?
Meirou is right, it does ! Oh, look, look, this one looks like a cat ! ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou couldn't agree more with Rou. You know...They could always be friends, and if the love thing works out on both ends, it works out. Either way, they both have a new friend, right?
Hmm...Meirou got that one at the import store Kanna takes her to a lot. All sorts of nice little candies. That one is called 'Botan Rice Candy'. ...She thinks.
And look over there! That one looks like a giant fish! Zero Dream That's right, that's right~
Behind the wall of his mind, Rou is rather glad for that. Glad that Meirou doesn't hate him.
Letting that fall once more, it does take him a moment to find the fish, but he does. Looks like the cat is running after the fish ! ~Lady Kanna~ Meirou finally stops projecting quieter than normal, after sighing quietly.
And opening her eyes, she notices the fish are smelling quite smoked. Are they done?
She sits up to look at them, but also notices the position of the sun. Oh...Kanna'll be off work soon. But...She'll stay until the fish is done! 3nodding
...Perhaps the hungry tummies of Boyan's family are the giant cat? confused Zero Dream Not quite, Rou's afraid. He was not kidding when he said it took hours. sweatdrop
Mayyybe... Or maybe it's just an hungry cat ? The fish looks like it's getting away !

Rou's steps the day afterward dared to carry him even deeper in the forest that was beyond Barton. He had, really, a whole lot to think about.
About that confusing thing called love. About how to go on from there. It seemed like a much better idea to practice magic wayyy back here when he would not scare young chibis if something went wrong.
Though, granted, his thoughts were more of the former. Was Meirou right ? Did Rou-Shou... love Rou-Dai ? that way ? The idea of a male in love with another male was not something completely new to him - he'd seen one or two sorcerer couples like this, though there were many more that had wives that lived in the cities. It was not a unpleasant or an upsetting concept to the boy, just something that happened every now and then. As long as they were happy, how did it matter to others, after all ?
...But he'd never thought of it this way. Not about him and Rou-Dai. But then In had showed up and he'd felt all these things and...
...The more Rou tried to think about it, the more confused Rou became.
Nrrrgh. Why did everything have to be so complicated ????
The dark-skinned boy kicked a rock, muttering to himself as he continued his walk - trying to spot caverns and creeks, after all, one never knew when it might be useful - and passed by a rather large lake.
Flash.
There was something blue, blue and bright, from the corner of his vision, that suddenly caught his attention. Then, as quickly as they were there, they were gone.
Attention redirected, Rou knelt at the edge of the lake to peek into the clear water. There was nothing unusual. In fact, even as he tried to slip into proper trance, he saw nothing at all.
...But he could have sworn he had seen...
Suddenly, it happened again, to his left. Again at the side of his vision, bright blue shapes. Flash, flash.... gone, before Rou could even look in that direction more closely.
...What the...
...
...
..... question
He'd seen it this time ! Rou is sure of it. Though just as soon as he notices he sees the shape, they seem to leave. That is indeed very unusual... and he has no idea what it is supposed to mean.
And the two people whom he knows could tell him are home while he's definitively not home. Rou doubts that Master Boyan, as beloved as he is, would be able to provide insight on this one. Beyond maybe asking the chaos.
confused
When it happens again, Rou tries to be fast as he can about it, yet the second he looks, the shapes are gone.
... gonk Whaaaaaatttt....
Rou needs to think about all this now...

Zero Dream Rou was very, very, very confused now. More so than his usual. He'd sped out of the forest and back into town, hoping to find Master Boyan and at least ask. The worse he could get in answer would be "you're nuts", right ?
... gonk
He'd stopped by the house, but there was no-one there, so he continued down the street, to this place Master Boyan called the "udon-ya", and, sure enough, he can sense the very unique projections.
He stops in front of the building, not quite sure if he should get on the propriety or not. He had discovered, very rudely, that some of these gaians were very protective of their backyard...
Master Boyan ? He projects, gently, as to not scare the two semi-familiar consciousnesses he can recognize as the twins. Junyi Boyan can't be sure if it's just the nursery or the whole house, actually... If it was just the nursery, after all, couldn't they simply switch rooms? He harrumphs, holding Tsubaki up (careful to support her head) and looking her straight in the eyes. Maybe they're just being troublesome for the sake of being troublesome, hmm? Though he directs the thought to her, there's no weight behind the projection at all; Boyan doesn't honestly believe a newborn is capable of causing trouble for its own sake. Tsubaki, in reply, directs her projected cooing at the Celestial Chaos itself. That's right~ Boyan encourages, poking her forehead. Those are Grandpa's sparklies! And with that aside, he turns his attention back to Setsushi. Still, he thinks, it would've been nice if Boyan could have figured it out for Melody. Even if she's an adult with her own children, even if she's supposed to learn to take care of these things herself... She's still his daughter. And he still wants to fix her problems for her. sweatdrop --At Rou's projection, Boyan glances over his shoulder. Yessss? Something wrong? Setsushi ... Why should Melody be forced to solve everything herself? gonk Setsushi seems slightly disturbed at the notion.
But before he can elaborate on this thought, another projectional voice travels in from the yard. Setsushi perks up, answering it with a feeling of greeting and welcome, and almost goes to the door himself -- then, remembering the children's poor reaction to that earlier, laughs to himself nervously and invites the new visitor to come inside. Zero Dream Rou has a question to ask later, when Master Boyan is less busy, maybe ?
At the feeling on invitation, the boy hops over the fence and peek slightly at the door before finally letting himself in, sending a thank you and a greeting to Setsushi.
...Who is rather tall. Whoa, cool ! eek
But ahh, are the twins feeling better ? He's... very very sorry for yesterday still. sweatdrop Junyi Boyan doesn't think it was Rou's fault at all; he really shouldn't blame himself. 3nodding It would seem, rather, that they've got a bit of a mystery on their hands, actually... But that isn't important. Rou, Setsushi. Setsushi, Rou. THERE. Now the introductions are complete. So what does Rou need from Boyan? --Though the children had lost interest in Setsushi for the time being, his reappearance into their range of vision causes Tsubaki to perk again, cooing audibly as she projects, this time, to the right of his head. rofl Junyi Boyan doesn't think it was Rou's fault at all; he really shouldn't blame himself. 3nodding It would seem, rather, that they've got a bit of a mystery on their hands, actually... But that isn't important. Rou, Setsushi. Setsushi, Rou. THERE. Now the introductions are complete. So what does Rou need from Boyan? --Though the children had lost interest in Setsushi for the time being, his reappearance into their range of vision causes Tsubaki to perk again, cooing audibly as she projects, this time, to the right of his head. rofl Setsushi "Rou," Setsushi acknowledges, bowing slightly to the younger man... then, as he straightens, scrutinizing the loose hair, the disheveled clothes, with a brow slightly crooked as if he is worried.
But he still projects with sincerity that he is glad to meet him. And, "How may I serve?" Would Rou like something to eat, too? Zero Dream Rou cannot help but wonder why Setsushi is looking at him like that. Is there something on his face ?
....Twigs in his hairs ? That happens alot... sweatdrop
Rou is not very hungry, but would not mind something to drink maybe ?
Rou's attention then falls on Tsubaki, who seems to be projecting in Setsushi's direction, but not -at- Setsushi. Who is BakiBaki talking too, hmm ?~
Well, Rou projects toward Master Boyan. Rou keep Seeing things on the water without even having to go in a trance - in fact, he sees them as long as he doesn't try to do that. As soon as he tries to pay attention to them, they vanish. He was thinking Master Boyan might know, or could ask the cha- shinies ? But later.
...Even though right now Rou is seeing them again on the boiling pot of water, of all things... sweatdrop Junyi "Bakibaki," Boyan says aloud, mulling over this nickname. What does little Tsubaki think of it? 4laugh But, ahem. More importantly. Boyan doesn't know anything about what Rou speaks of (especially the "going into a trance" part), but he kind of understands what Rou's talking about. Like, when sometimes there's a speck of dust in his eye, and he can see it in the corner of his vision but when he goes to look at it it just darts all the way to the side of his vision and... he HATES that! gonk He could ask the chaos, he thinks, but he doesn't really know what he should be asking. sweatdrop Setsushi ... ... ...
Setsushi guesses he will, uhhh, leave the Sorcerers to their conversation.
Would Rou like some juice or tea? sweatdrop He has all kinds of both... Zero Dream Juice will do just fine, if Setsushi would be so kind, Rou projects with a feeling of thankfulness. He is indeed rather thirsty after his run.
And... uh. sweatdrop How to explain this ? Well. Rou can sometimes see flashes of events on the water's surface... but he usually has to concentrate to do that. As in, going into a trance.
But now it just happens. Like that. That's never really happened to Rou before, and he's not quite sure what to do about it... He's not really making sense, isn't he ? sweatdrop Junyi And now he sees flashes of events out of the corner of his eye? On water? Is this right? Hmmm. Boyan thinks on this a while. Setsushi Any preference? If not, Setsushi will just pour some apple juice.
He watches the children as he retreats to the refrigerator; hopefully they will not start to cry when he steps too far away... sweatdrop Zero Dream Apple is fine for Rou. If Setsushi has it, then it is probably very tasty.
Not really events, he corrects. Well, they might be, and Rou just can't tell.
What Rou Sees is blue shapes. Very bright ones, so when they happen, they catch his attention very easily. He can't tell what they are, or what they're supposed to mean - the second he tries to focus on them, they're gone. And if he tries to See properly, then he just can't see anything either. Junyi Illusions, Boyan says. What Rou sees are illusions. Illusions of what, though... Boyan can't really say. Light, he supposes! Tsubaki doesn't seem to mind Setsushi moving away; her interest waned quite some time ago. But now Eiji stirs, small cries and strong projections of sudden hunger making themselves known. He wants his mommy... crying Uh oh-- sweatdrop Luckily, Boyan didn't come unprepared... He leans forward to place Tsubaki back in the carriage and retrieve Eiji, and then fumbles for one of the labeled and dated bottles of milk. Juuuuust a second, Eiji! Grandpa's coming to the rescue...! gonk Setsushi Setsushi hurries back with a glass of cold apple juice anyway, handing it off to Rou before asking Boyan if he needs any help. gonk If not, Setsushi will get back to noodles (which are almost ready.) Zero Dream Rou takes the glass with a smile, and thanks Setsushi again before taking a sip. Oh, yes, that is indeed perfect.
Illusions ? Hm. Maybe, Though would he not see them everywhere and not only on water, then ?
When Eiji starts to stir, however, Rou lets the matter drop. The twins' comfort is much more important than weither or not Rou's eyes are playing tricks on him. He glances at Tsubaki with a smile, and he does seem to be just as afraid as Setsushi that he might accidentally end up hurting them if he tried to take them... Junyi No, no, Boyan's fine, he projects, though he wonders if Rou only sees visions on water, wouldn't it make sense that he'd see the illusions on them too? ...Or maybe he's thinking about this all wrong. As he continues his musing, he expertly shakes the bottle, uncaps it with one hand, and.....! There. See? No problem. 3nodding Don't worry about Boyan, really! He may be a little rusty, but he can handle anything these two throw at him! (Thankfully, neither baby has any concept of irony, or he would have been doomed the second those words were projected.) Setsushi Well then, as soon as Boyan is done feeding them, Setsushi has his noodles ready. 3nodding The Knight sets down a tray with the other man's soba, with dipping sauce and choice of condiments on the nearby table.
And some tea, too? he wonders, getting the kettle ready -- for himself, even if the other two do not wish to partake. Zero Dream Rou might have to think about this a little more indeed. And... Rou would like to apologize to Setsushi for bringing his troubles all over here. sweatdrop Rou has been feeling very lost even since he fell into this world, and maybe it's starting to get to him ?
The situation had him rather spooked, to be honest. Though he's starting to calm down now.
Talking another sip from his glass, Rou wonders if the twins have been feeling better and slept well last night ? He'd heard (or rather, overhead) of the trouble the two had sleeping in the nursery, and cannot help but be worried. Junyi Boyan shakes his head, taking the now-empty bottle, throwing a rag over his shoulder, and lifting Eiji up to be properly burped. Nope. They eventually had to sleep at Boyan's last night; they just couldn't sleep in their own home. Too bright, too noisy, he repeats, frowning. No matter how dark or quiet the room, it was always too bright, too noisy. Though... hm. He thinks back to Rou's predicament, and suddenly something dawns on him. The chaoses did say they were illusions, after all, not hallucinations... Something is causing these illusions. Something... ...Ew. One moment while he tends to the baby... Where was he? The illusions are being caused by... He suddenly freezes, a look of horror crossing his face. The Mist Chaos. no no no no no no no no no no no no. A rush of memories come flooding back, all of them horribly unpleasant. And as he struggles to keep those thoughts behind a wall so as not to frighten the children, the alarm, fear, and distress are plainly written all over his face. This is NOT something he ever wanted to even THINK of again. Setsushi ...The Mist Chaos!?
Setsushi was under the impression that that Sorcerer had lost control of his Chaos...? Does this mean that...
He pauses, glancing towards where Slender Snow sits on his chest of drawers... then cuts off those thoughts and steps towards Boyan, projecting calming and reassuring feelings to him, also trying to help protect the infants from an outburst. There's no need to be alarmed, Setsushi reassures him. Setsushi defeated the Mist Sorcerer handily once before, so everything will remain under control... Zero Dream ...The what now ? Though the jumbled projection from Rou does not speak of not knowing what the mist chaos is, but rather of wondering just what it has to do with him.
Likewise, he tries to send soothing thoughts toward Boyan, locking his own anxiety under a wall. This... has just gotten bigger and more complicated than anything Rou could have ever thought of. Junyi It's not the sorcerer Boyan's worried about; really, were that the case, he wouldn't even want to be in the same room as Misty. It's the chaos itself. It's testing Rou, Boyan states, setting Eiji back down into the carriage. He's not sure exactly why, but... A sigh. What will Setsushi be able to do? Certainly, he could stop Misty, but what can he do to the Chaos? Boyan was able to will it away once, but he doesn't know if he'll be able to do it again. ...It's been a long time, and he hasn't exactly PRACTICED these sorcery things... sweatdrop Setsushi ... ... The Chaos itself?
Boyan's fears seem bizarre to Setsushi. He was always under the impression that the Chaos is no stronger or more aggressive than the Sorcerer to whom it belongs -- they do not molest people if not commanded. Of course, does Boyan, as the Oracle, know something Setsushi does not...?
... Even if the Chaos were to attack without a Sorcerer, Setsushi still has a sword that can cut through spirits, and he imagines that if magic can affect a Chaos, Slender Snow will also be useful.
He nods towards the screen. Zero Dream It's testing RouOdd that, sometimes, three simple words can weight so much more than one would expect them to. This is exactly what happens then, and a zap of anxiety escapes the dark-skinned boy before he can clamp his wall back in place.
Don't do that, he scolds himself. You'll scare the twins again.
Though, granted, his facial expression seems to speak volumes. Almost like he had seen a ghost.
He... has heard something similar than what Setsushi speaks. That chaos attaches themselves to powerful sorcerers. Granted, he does not know much, and neither had he actually met a chaos sorcerer before Master Boyan.
He's...
Rou is...
.................
Rou must assume the chaos has its reasons, even if he does not understand them. Rou is no great sorcerer - far from so - but perhaps...
They should let things happen as they shall, and not attempt to interfere with the will of the chaos...
Oddly brave words, perhaps, from someone to seem scared stiff. Junyi Do not molest people? Do not molest people? It takes Boyan a full minute to ensure he can properly keep a lid on himself before continuing. He watched the Mist Chaos come out, alone, coming after Boyan, coming after Silver... And then the Celestial Chaos, split in two-- the sun coming for Boyan, the moon staying put and waiting for Boyan's approach. And when Boyan arrived, the chaos, acting on its own, tormenting a human child. The chaos, acting on its own, not PHYSICALLY harming Boyan, but still causing agony. So he hopes Setsushi and Rou can pardon Boyan for having stronger feelings about the chaos than its sorcerer. --Though this mention of Slender Snow, of a sword that can cut through spirits and magic, has Boyan intrigued. It would seem that his distress, his anger, his fear is, once again, dulled by the lure of a new shiny. '_' ....? Setsushi ... Boyan's story seems to disturb, but even more, puzzle Setsushi -- and Boyan is quite sure that no Sorcerer was ordering this Chaos from a distance...?
And... Surely, Rou has no need to fear the Chaos coming after him if he is just a young trainee. After all, did the Celestial Chaos say what the Mist Chaos was testing...? Setsushi doesn't know what he's talking about, but he still feels a need to say something with confidence.
... Which Boyan's question may provide him with. He steps behind the screen to quickly -- but tenderly and carefully -- pick up his sheathed sword from the chest of drawers, then carry it out to show the others, lifting it gently, as if this burden is precious. "Slender Snow," he says, quietly, as if he is even trying not to disturb it with his voice. It has quite a few enchantments on it, he explains... and in his last violent encounter with the Mist Sorcerer, it pushed back on the Chaos.
"We could try it on the Celestial Chaos, but..." Setsushi is rather afraid that the highest Chaos might rain Heavenly death upon him if he disturbed it. sweatdrop Zero Dream Rou listen to the story intently, and even though Boyan's own mood flicker off as the mention of the shiny, Rou does not.
Rou is sorry... He had not meant for Master Boyan to have to remember all those awful things...
Always, it seemed, he ended up causing more harm than good, without meaning it. It rattled him.
He watched as the sword was shown, clear awe in his face, though the feeling was lost in the muddling mix of confusion, anxiety, and pain that refused to leave.
Rou had never seen something quite like this before... Junyi No, no, Boyan answers; it's not Rou's fault. It's the Mist Chaos's fault. As soon as the sword is brought out, both twins once again begin projecting-- Tsubaki's projections are the same she'd been pinging at Setsushi, at the ceiling, at the screen; curious and intensely fascinated. eek Eiji, on the other hand, being full and sleepy, doesn't seem to welcome its presence at all. He whimpers grouchily, turning his face away in an attempt to block it out. stressed Setsushi Setsushi still seems perplexed at the idea of something being the fault of the Chaos, as if Boyan were blaming an arrow for his wound, but does not press the issue.
... Instead, he seems intrigued by the children's reaction. "... They seem interested in her," he murmurs, his eyebrows raised. It's strange -- when in its sheath, it doesn't glow or hum, although it is true that the layers of enchantment on it are so heavy that when the blade is out one can feel the magic rolling off it... Zero Dream The reaction of the twins, at the very least, provide some distraction so that Rou at least seems to stop mentally whacking at himself for a few seconds.
...It does seem so, Rou cannot help but agree.
....
"BakiBaki~" He chips, hoping to get the attention of the girl, as it seem Eiji is already rather cranky - and then his voice turn to whispers. He seize control of the water in the juice, but, rather than force it to move, keeps it completely still. He's only able to hold it for a few seconds, but that will be enough. If Tsubaki projects toward the glass... Junyi Tsubaki halfheartedly projects at Rou; it would seem that he'd have her attention any other time, but right now, Slender Snow seems to be more interesting. (Though, Eiji seems rather displeased that he turned from the sword only to have something else distracting to meet him) Hmmm, says Boyan. And that sword was on the other side of the screen before? (He suddenly recalls how Tsubaki and Eiji had been interested in a light in that general area...) Setsushiiiiii. If the sword really does glow and hum out of the sheath, maybe he should take it out? See what happens? Setsushi ... If Boyan really thinks that would be wise...
Setsushi gently pushes the hilt with his thumb, an inch of blade leaving the sheath. Even to Setsushi's ordinary Porcelain mind, the magic in the sword is immediately obvious; it seem to resonate like an enchanted tuning fork, the light reflected in the mirror-bright steel seeming to swim even though Setsushi's hands are not moving, as if there is a river running through the metal. Junyi The results are immediate and disastrous. Both babies, suddenly overwhelmed, overstimulated, and practically blinded and deafened by this horribly bright and loud thing (Like a spotlight with a megaphone leapt into the carriage and shouted "HELLO, CHILDREN!" ), begin WAILING as loud as their little lungs will allow and projecting EXTREME discomfort at the light, the sound, the light, the sound, too bright, too loud, too bright, too loud! gonk gonk gonk ! This, Boyan thinks, yelping in surprise, was NOT one of his smartest decisions. Setsushi Setsushi puts the blade back in a hurry. eek And it would appear that Setsushi isn't the only one who is eek . Zero Dream Rou would probably have been most awed by the sight of the blade...
Had the babies not started wailing in stereo, pretty much. Thankfully, the knight draws the sword back in before Rou can ask him to, but it does leave him with his ears ringing.
Maybe not the smartest thing Master Boyan has done - but Rou seems to think he might have found the answer to all this.
The babies react to things they cannot see. Ping projections at it. The sight of Slender Snow's blade had them projects the very same thing they did in the nursery, correct ?
...Rou thinks that the babies can see magic. The stronger, the brighter. Junyi That, Boyan answers, frantically scooping up the still-crying babies and trying desperately to soothe them, sounds like the right answer. gonk But how?Setsushi Nevermind that, how do they stop the crying???? gonk
Before the dragon comes down from her roost to eat them all alive... Junyi Nevermind that. Boyan will just take them outside until they calm down. sweatdrop He'll properly apologize once they've quieted down. --And then he can eat his noodles. gonk Zero Dream Rou is not quite sure that it will even help at this point, but he sends calm, soothing projections at the twins - keeping his still-lingering anxiety tightly locked within himself. Setsushi Setsushi, feeling like a fool, goes to put Slender Snow back.As he does so, questioning projections descend to the ground floor: Why are there screaming babies downstairs? This is Setsushi's fault. He hopes he will have Rika's forgiveness... crying Junyi It's not Setsushi's fault, Boyan argues from the front door. Boyan brought them, Boyan asked Setsushi to unsheathe the sword, Boyan will take responsibility. And if Rika would like to be angry with anyone for disturbing her sleep, she can be angry with Boyan. And with that, he closes the door behind him and sits on the front stoop. Zero Dream Rou seems to remain silent, now, though the look of his eyes seems rather heavy. It would seem the young one has even more to think about now, doesn't he ? Setsushi rikas not angry shes skjaldajkdj;awlewlkfsdf/Setsushi lets out a long sigh, seeming to deflate, like Rou -- until the shriek of the tea kettle starts him out of his reverie, and he hurries to take it off the heat. He doesn't even remember what tea he intended to prepare anymore... gonk Junyi When the babies have finally calmed down-- Eiji finally falling asleep and Tsubaki more concerned with food than being disturbed, Boyan peeks back into the house. Everyone okay? Rou? Setsushi? Rika? Zero Dream Rou's okay, he answer, though the projection lacks it's usual cheer and instead seems rather muffled, as if it had to go though layers and layers of other thoughts and feelings before finally rolling out like a soft wave. Setsushi It looks like the Imperial Princess decided not to make an appearance, and the upstairs has grown quiet again.Setsushi, meanwhile, is making some barley tea, which he intends to cool before drinking. He smiles -- perhaps a bit anxiously -- at Boyan's return; time for noodles, now? Junyi One more baby to feed, and then noodles. And then, he'll have to take everyone home for more rest; the children need their mother, and Rou could probably use some rest as well, mm? 3nodding Zero Dream Rou agrees.- the twins probably do need some rest, though he does not speak for himself.
