Sometimes, Torin was able to be like a normal older brother. Actually, most of the time he was; it was only when things were bad, that he fell just a bit short. And it was for those moments that he lived for, when he could enjoy the sound of Julie's excited laughter and her talking to pokemon and playing make believe. The latter was left out of their trip into the cornfield-- it seemed that the setting itself was more than enough. Still, she was happily running along with her little white sheep, with Chico anxiously following along, keeping a close watch on the two. For obvious reasons, Tria was being kept in her pokeball, for the time being.

While Torin trailed along behind, Julie skipped through the maze, giggling and investigating with Mareepa. The little sheep seemed to be more than happy to blissfully trot along at her side, just joining along, looking either at Julie, or, occasionally, looking around at their surroundings. The little girl darted one way, then ran laughing another, screaming and then giggling any time something jumped out or scared her. "Hey Tey! Think I could crawl through the corn?" she called, beaming as she tried to push some of the stalks apart to create a path. He smiled a bit. "I dunno, Lemon, I think you might get stuck," he replied, placing a hand on her shoulder, and gently guiding her away, "Best stick to the path."

Torin gave Julie a gentle push to get her back on track, and send her running on ahead. He heard her scream and saw her jump in place before laughing as a scarecrow manifested in front of her, and glanced down to Chico, who seemed at the ready to defend his trainer at any moment. His vines were out, his head leaf looked ready to send razor sharp foliage at any opponent, but he didn't quite strike out. Had he been that on edge since the beginning? Torin smirked some, then shook his head, stepping around the starter pokemon, and taking a right while Julie got over her fit of laughter, and turned back to follow.

Eventually, Julie got over her laughing, and turned to look back at her brother, but her smile fell when she found he... wasn't there. She shifted a bit, then glanced at Mareepa, before flashing a slightly less bright smile. "C'mon Sheep Mareep! Le's find Torry!" she urged, running back on to Chico, flashing him a grin and giving him a pet, before darting down the path after her brother. Or, at least, it was the only other way to go, so she assumed that was where he'd gone. Chico quickly turned and ran with her, still at the ready in case anything leaped out.

When she was given the all clear to start decorating, Tay went to work. Making up some frosting the teen eagerly spread it across the pastry, making sure to be extra careful of how well it was being spread on. Though, her inexperience showed as the frosting was thicker in some places where other places you could see a bit of the pastry here and there. She also managed to get a good portion of the frosting on the plate and her hands rather than the cake. Even still, she was happy with her work, so why bring her down? The final touch was some drizzle. Tay had four choices. Strawberry, Chocolate, Vanilla or Carmel. She could of gone hog wild, but the teen decided on Chocolate and Strawberry. With her pastry done, the teen went up to the judge to get it evaluated. While she'd done pretty decent throughout the process, her pastry was labeled as pretty much average, and she was handed 30 tickets for her job well done. She then got to split the treat across to everyone who wanted a piece, even Avikna despite not being one for sweets. "Alright, I think we've done just about everything this carnival has to offer, why don't we start heading to the prize booth at the main entrance?" Tay looked up, her face covered in frosting. "Sure thing Avikna. I wonder what I could get with my tickets?" She pondered. "Well, clean off your face and hands before we get going." Avikna added.

Jun actually snorted when Christian said he was still hungry. As they walked deeper into the stands of food, he ran a hand through his hair in thought. What was he in the mood for? Something to counter the sugar that was the only thing in his system right now.
Apparently that didn't really matter, because first Christian shoved some tickets at him. "Oh. Uh, right. Thanks." His train of thought broken, he put the tickets away mechanically, without counting them.
"I'll just get one of those, I guess." He pointed to a small stall selling corn dogs and only corn dogs. It had the shortest line. "If you want something else just get in line and I'll find you."
[ "Of course it is! A-at least, I really like it." ] He was already imagining how they could do it. He might have to help Chickpea out, maybe even teach him the best digging techniques! [ "Oh, oh, you've seen the ocean!?" ] The slits of Dune's eyes widened in awe. [ "Yes, y-yes yes! I w-want to go!" ] His wings shivered a bit with excitement until he folded them gingerly against his body.
[ "Have you been to any other nea-nnn-neat places?" ] He took a deep breath to calm down. His heart was beating a little too fast it made him scared, but he was so happy and excited too.
Christian cast his gaze over to the corn dog stand, expression remaining unflinchingly bright, before giving a two-fingered salute to Jun. "I think I'm in the mood for a burger and fries, so I'll go and check that out." He looked over at Chickpea, contemplating having him tag along, but he decided against it, seeing how deep he was into his conversation with Jun's fish... snake, pokemon.
So, he'd explore the great picnic area on his own! It took a single glance around for him to pinpoint the line he needed to join, and as he slid into it Christian was already thinking about what he wanted to order: a burger with ketchup, mustard, and pickles (keeping it simple), and make it a medium combo with fries and a drink! It would cost more than the zero dollars and zero cents he had on him, so thankfully the line he was in was longer than Jun's; he'd be able to come on by once he got his food.

"I can't wait to try it then!" And he couldn't. Chickpea tapped the ground, testing how hard it was, but then quickly realized how digging a hole here, with tons of humans about, probably wasn't the best idea. "Yeah! It's great! It's really big, and water-y, and salty too! I bet you'll love it!" He gushed, feeding off of Dune's excitement and, somehow, becoming even more lively.
With a laugh the grass type awkwardly, albeit affectionately, patted Dune's head; it involved a lot of toddling on three legs, but he managed to achieve it. "Mm. I was in the city for a bit! It's got a bunch of taaalll buildings, bigger than the one I used to live in." It'd certainly been nice, seeing so many new things even if their trip had been a short one. "But, that's all I've seen right now. It's only really been... a few hours since I left the other pokemon and the professor."

Jun, apparently designated kid-watcher, kept an eye on the pokemon while Christian wandered off. It was a quick thing to get his food, just taking a dog and passing along a buck. Some kind of sauce on it might have been nice, but he preferred it to not get messy.
By the time Jun spotted Christian, the corn dog was just a stick in his hand. He tossed it out on the way over. "Hey." The pokemon had followed him over like a crowd of little ducklings, Cricket leading the way. "Add a bottle of water, too." Jun handed over a twenty so Christian could pay.
Heh. He wished he had a toothpick to pick his teeth with while he watched Christian grab his pile of food. "After this, you interested in the corn maze?" He noticed an entrance nearby, and wondered if there would be any interesting tricks inside.
Dune actually chuckled when Chickpea tapped the ground. Just the thought of burrowing here was silly, for all sorts of reasons! Especially because humans would get mad if they made a bunch of holes where they could get stepped in. That was something Dune learned from Elder Sedi. [ "I've n-never seen much water. I didn't know it could be salty." ] His mouth hung open, as if he were imagining what that would taste like. Impossible! Salty water sounded silly.
Dune wriggled under Chickpea's head-pat. [ "M-me too!" ] he exclaimed, [ "Mama Jun t-took us to a city!" ] That was what Cricket and Holly called him. [ "Woah no wa- way!! Just hours! It's been a few days for m-me n' Laydian." ]
