Tikal, squire of Ganymede Location: G8 Action: buffing Santa Maria Novella for the entirety of her attack Total: 9 + 5 (level) + 10 (pin) = 24 HP: 90/125
Her magic at this stage is limited to a sparkling light display that, for her target, amplifies their strongest desire. This could be a desire to run away, a desire to take a nap, a desire for scones, or… a desire to hurt Tikal. Her magic pool lasts for thirty seconds.
Tikal grit her teeth against the pain, but was hardly one to sit around waiting for it to pass before she would act. Reaching within herself, she made a gesture in the air with one hand and grasped the pin on her clothes with the other. A moment later, a shower of sparks and light erupted from the ground, shifting between all manners of pinks and reds and silvers. She looked to Santa Maria Novella and, voice concealing strain, flatly intoned, "don't waste it, please."

Yddagen, Vanguard Cadet Location: F3 to F2 Action: attacking CH for entirety of damage Total: 3 + 10 (pin) = 13 HP: 65/100
Yddagen looked over the people taking care of the energy donation and decided he was not going to be of any use where he was standing. There were plenty of Vanguard to protect Lyndin against any of the other people there. And, so far, no one had approached with genuine malice. By the same token, Yddagen did not want to draw his weapon in a crowded area with tensions already high.
That left him one option.
He moved quickly, striding around the other Velencians and the assorted non-Velencians that had assembled. He kept both hands visible and well away from his blaster, at least until he was well-enough away from the others and instead sharing space with what looked like a... Neptune? squire.
Said squire got a cordial nod and a, "I am not firing at you," before Yddagen unholstered his blaster and fired a shot up at the Calamitous Hollow with his other hand brushing fingers against the pin on his clothing. It was not the best shot he could have taken, even one-handed, but then again, Yddagen would protest he was a cartographer and a scientist, not a soldier.
Phaethon rubs his hands together. When he turns his hands outward, he sweeps them palms-up towards the sky, and there's a faint, purely cosmetic glow around them for a brief moment. The target is buoyed like with Warm Fuzzies, but for a longer period of time. The boost in happiness boosts the ability of the target to heal to a minor degree; minor injuries might heal quickly, and more serious injuries might be somewhat less lethal, with the pain from them lessening a bit while the effect is active
Phaethon was aware of two things. One, they hurt all over. Two, there was a commotion nearby, where a spike was located. Craning their neck, Phaethon saw a senshi near the spike looking quite worse for the wear. A sense of urgency overtook them, and Phaethon took a couple steps toward the cluster before remembering Nembus and Elliott behind them. They turned immediately, gestured toward the spike cluster, and breathlessly, "I think someone needs help. I'm going to go see what I can do. You should come along."
Then Phaethon turned and hurried toward the spike and the senshi that had plunged it into the ground. "I can help!" They wound through the crowd toward her. "Uh, here, I can heal you." Quickly, they rubbed their hands together as if to warm them, then swept them outward, palms toward what passed for a sky. The glow lasted only a moment, but that's all Phaethon needed to know that their magic was working as intended even in this strange place. After a moment, he looked to her anxiously. "How do you feel?"
Phaethon still felt like they'd been hit by a bus, but that was neither here nor there.
"My name is Phaethon, by the way." This was mainly to her, but also, as an afterthought, directed to the people that Phaethon had pushed past to get to her.
Page 8, Page 19, Page 34, Page 46 Location: F3 Action: With Caia. Approaching the Vanguard with caution and offering help/energy/anything. Total: N/A HP: 150 - 35 = 115
Oberon kept his eyes on Lyndin and the Vanguard as he waited to see what would happen. He could force himself to his feet and protect Caia if he needed to, that wasn’t a problem. He just needed a chance to catch his breath.
Being shot at wasn’t a surprise, nor did he think it was undeserved. He had prevented their Commodore from taking Caedus’ starseed.
That didn’t mean he’d wanted to prevent Lyndin from stopping any other tragedies that took place at the same time.
Ever since he’d been a little boy, Oberon had dreamed of the stars. Being brought to the moon when he’d barely been eleven had shifted things for him. Why had he been trying so hard to do something that turned out to be so simple, or even unnecessary? What had been the point of looking to the stars if they were so easy to reach, and yet still so restricted for exploration?
But then Caedus had escaped from the Rift. He’d brought the Vanguard to Earth.
Suddenly, the stars hadn’t looked as artificial as they had before.
Oberon didn’t say anything as Andronicus casually offered her energy. Self preservation, of course. He heard the disdain in her icy voice.
He couldn’t risk telling her she was wrong. He couldn’t risk the Negaverse turning on the Vanguard. Couldn’t tell her it was always Metallia who wanted corruption. The Vanguard were nothing but disposable pawns to the Negaverse.
As long as they were useful…
The shield was useful.
Oberon waited with Caia until the Knight and her friend (Ashur) left. He watched the Velencian who shot him (Vyn) run off.
Kerberos was still there. Oberon cast a wary glance in his direction. He knew Kerberos supported Lyndin. Oberon wasn’t sure if Kerberos would be against his being there as well.
He rubbed at his chest where he’d been shot, but pushed himself to his feet and cautiously approached Lyndin and the others, beckoning for Caia to follow.
“I’m sorry about your Commander… about everyone you lost,” he said to them, his hands raised slightly in a show of vulnerability. He would really prefer not to be shot again.
Oberon couldn’t say it out loud, not when there were Negaverse officers nearby, but he desperately wanted to tell them that he was sorry for how things happened on the hilltop. And that he would help them save Velencya. It was never his intention to abandon them, despite how things went down. He’d been serious from the moment he offered his energy when Caedus escaped the Rift, and when they’d all first arrived on Earth, and even now.
“I’ve seen the way you calibrate devices similar to that. Let me help. Please. I know I’m not a Velencian, so… if I can’t help with that, take more of my energy.”

Princess Cybele Location: E5 Action: Giving a pep talk to the knights, buffing Arricia (+ 8 ), Hierapolis (+ 8 ), and Celadon(+ 7). Total: 8 + 15 = 23 HP: 200 - 35 = 165
It was falling.
She'd done what she could. They all had. She remembered going to that small chamber in the moon, bowing her head in that secret, sacred place while Amoris had talked to her a little about Nectaris, about the past. She'd offered up the crystal spire her forgiveness, as well as her energy, and that was coming to fruition now.
The Moon blasted the creature with that energy. It fell from the sky. It fell right at them. And in that moment, her stomach flipped as she looked at she thought of the sweet faces of each of those around her and knew that their efforts had maybe just caused their own doom.
She stretched her arms out. Her wings out. Anything she could do to protect the knights behind her, as little as she knew her form would actually defend them.
The shield above them was better equipped for that kind of protection. She felt the electrical impact as the beast crashed into it, but she was still standing. The others were still standing. The spike had flown off to some other part of t he field.
And the creature was here. Weakened. Vulnerable. Still massive, still awful. If Cybele had been on her own, she would have thought that was all right. If the prey was too weak, then where was the thrill of the hunt?
The others around her held back some of those thoughts, because she wasn't here to risk their lives, but that concern only for a moment before dulling back to the regular adrenaline of battle. Danube was already attacking, her arrow flying true. Good.
Her Knights were not helpless. They had gathered around her, asked her to be their Princess, chosen to fight at her side. And perhaps, they did not simply need to help her. Perhaps she could help them in turn.
"It's weakening," she told them. "Stunned. It's all right if no one else has strengthening magic. I do. You are all brave, and strong. We'll give this everything we have. Attack it now! Hunter's Deadly Grace!
An ethereal bow formed in her hand, and she shot it skyward. Those arrows would turn into bolts of light around Arricia, Celadon, and Hierapolis. They would find their focus sharpened, their feet sped like the wind.
Quote:
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Hunter's Deadly Grace Cybele summons a bigger bow with three arrows. The speed boost they provide is slightly more noticeable than Hunter's Grace. She shoots the bow straight up, and the arrows automatically target her and up to two nearby Order aligned beings (including cats). However, if there don't happen to be enough Order aligned beings around, the remaining arrows will randomly fall, and can be easily or even accidentally intercepted by anyone else around, giving them the benefits. The arrows can target Order aligned beings within five feet of where they are fired from, but arrows without targets tend to fall closer to that spot. The effect lasts for 30 seconds. She can use the bow to threaten people, under the same conditions as before. She can use this attack twice per battle.

Lepidolite whistled good naturedly when she threw her daggers. He saw the blood, but she clearly hadn't wanted him to notice. So, he pretended not to. “Nice,” he praised, “But you’ve got it easy to throw those, they’re small. Watch this,” he said, and like he was aching to show off, he took two steps back from her and heaved his giant hammer into both hands.
For all the laziness Lepidolite could exude, maybe he was just saving his energy for something important.
Like this.
He gripped the hilt tightly and began to swing it in a wide arc around him, slowly at first but it rapidly built up momentum. Finally, he released it and it soared in a straight line, right at the underbelly of the Calamitous Hollow.
His hammer smashed into it with enough force that it created a crater in the scale, and it immediately exploded into a million tiny pieces. He laughed and nearly clapped Strengite on the shoulder to share in his success, but he settled for just a wide grin as he summoned his weapon back to him.
"Hey, you already know Promethei," Nikki told Cryolite, making sure to sound extra chipper like that would help make up for the fact that she'd been squeezing Emain Ablach half to death a couple seconds ago while they felt like they were getting corrupted or something.
The other husbands, they seemed to be taking it okay. And if they weren't, Nikki could deal with that after they didn't die. Which, it looked like they might not. She couldn't help but grin proudly as the Moon came into view. That was her Moon, right there! And it was everyone's hard work that had charged the attack.
"That's what we were charging up, by the way!" she told him, and then winced as the massive snake crashed down into the shield. Was this the death part? Was this the end?
She squeezed Cryolite's hand harder, focusing in on its warmth. Although, even in that split second, she couldn't help but think that her other hand felt slightly empty. She could picture his face, when he still smiled. She could see the blue tips of his dark hair-
Did she really want to be thinking about her ex right before she died? Did she really want to be thinking about her regrets? It was good they didn't die, even if the lightning shocks made her gasp for a second.
"Maybe this isn't the end," she told Cryolite. She pulled her thoughts away from what she didn't have, towards what she did. Cryolite. Her family. A pretty big moon stick. "Maybe we can fight it, like, side by side."
She liked that thought. She liked standing with him at one shoulder, and her friends at the other.
She twirled her staff and then leaped upwards to take a swing at the snake, one of the underbelly scales cracking a bit under the impact.
Adria, Eternal Senshi of Sunsets Location: D4->D6 Action: Moving with Varuna from D4 to D6 while looking for Michel/Lysithea/Malus ; hurriedly passing through but attacking the Calamitous Hollow while trying to make a beacon Total: roll + 10 HP: 115/150
Varuna was so smart and competent, and maybe she knew that her connection with him was one of the only things giving him strength right now.
“I think my brother’s here,” he said, maybe because he was panicking. Adria had other friends, he had plenty of people he could rely on! …But he knew Michel wouldn’t let him die, and suddenly that made perfect sense. He scanned the field but he didn’t see anything. There was so much going on, between all these big explosions, and the Calamitous Hollow right above them.
And anyway–Lysithea would be with Michel. And Malus, probably. He’d fought with them before, they knew what they could expect from one another.
He held onto Varuna’s hand tightly, unwilling to let anything separate from her. Adria didn’t like to lead, didn’t like to be responsible for things when they went wrong, but he wasn’t going to stand around and do nothing.
“Maybe–maybe I can send out a flare? I don’t know if they’ll see,” he said, but he could do two birds with one stone, right? He summoned his magic to attack the giant serpent above them. He was used to seeing a setting sun–a warm ball of light, gently falling below the horizon. Instead, it seemed to set–just, right into the serpent.
He wasn’t sure if it was a recognizable beacon, but he’d tried.

Belmont, Squire of Jupiter Location: F5 Action: Holding onto Connie;attacking Total: roll + 5 HP: 90/125
Too many things were going on above them; he’d instinctively wrapped his arm around Connie as he stared up in silent shock at the sheer energy unleashed by the Negaverse Queen–and then, in quick succession, several other blasts.
“No bugs this time. I think. Are you afraid of snakes?”
He was glad she was pressed against him when the Calamitous Hollow fell against the shield. He felt the air above and below him rattle so he knew she’d have felt the collision even if she hadn’t seen it. He was wincing already, but for as bad as it looked, it also seemed–
Hopeful?
He could already make out a few other people attacking it, and it was so much smaller. So what, if they just kept whacking it, it would shrink? Could they get it down to the size of a youma or something?
"Connie, hey–I think we have to hit it. I think we can reach it. Come on. I won’t let you go,” he said, and though he released her from the embrace, he took her hand. With his other hand, he channeled his magic through his flail in an attempt to help bring the creature down to size.

The roil of Chaos hit him like a truck and Siegfried had to brace himself to avoid doubling over. The feeling of it clung to his chest, whispering sweet nothings and reminders of the power he once had. Sharper blades, ruthlessness as mercy. A never ending hunger that threatened to pull him down, down, down...
Ariccia fell to her knees and gagged, breaking him out his mind and thoughts. He dropped down, rubbing her spine. "It'll be alright, you're alright, Ari. That's it, just breathe," said Siegfried, pulling her hair over her shoulders and holding it out of her way. She'd only recently been awoken and now fighting to save the world. He hoped she'd come out of this alive and as alright as you could be given the end of the world.
Cybele, wonderful and strong Cybele who'd been through so much, spread her wings, defiance of their fate in every feather. Pride swelled in his chest and he made to stand. He guided Ariccia back to standing, gritting his teeth against the agony shooting through him as the beast crashed into the shield. He held her firmly, a rock when she needed it. It was close now, close enough to attack.
One of the other knight - Danube - threw her little arrow at the snake herself, and he felt the shift in Ariccia as the girl took a breath to steady herself.
"All together now, and we can win this!" Siegfried spun his cutlass in his hand and flicked the tuning fork pommel with his other hand. Sea water rippled down the edge of the blade as a sea shanty filled the space around him with a rush of salty air. The lingering stinging of the electricity faded even in his own limbs.
Ariccia, Page of Cybele Location: E5 Action: Puking, having a panic, then attacking because her PRINCESS BELIEVES IN HER!!! Total: 8 + 8 = 16 damage! HP: 100 - 35 + 5 = 70/100
Ariccia trembled between Siegfried and Cybele. The serpent was so large, so giant... how could they even fight it? How could she fight it. She had a branch of willow! It could maybe choke out a youma if she was quick enough, but this? This creature? Her knees shuddered in her terror and helplessness.
A wave of something hit her and she doubled over, evicted everything she'd eaten from her stomach. It burned, it stung, it made her feel sick and weak. She heard the crack when the bolt of pure Chaos slammed into the creatures' side. She watched the clouds beneath the force giving them a flat platform shift and snap with lightning as the beast wailed.
Someone was rubbing her back, someone was holding her hair back. Siegfried? He murmured into her hair calming words, that it was okay, that they'd get through this. That they'd survive this. The whole area shook, Siegfried guiding her back to her feet. White hot agony shot through her bones as the beast slammed into the shield. She stumbled but Siegfried held her firm.
A rush of energy rippled outwards from Sieg's sword and from Cybele's spectral bow. Danube was already in the air to attack the creature. Some of the pain ebbed away, a rush of speed seemed to settle into her bare feet.
Can I really hit it with this? she wondered, glancing at her willow branch. Can I even be useful here?
Except Danube was there, using her little arrow. It didn't matter if she didn't have a proper weapon, or abilities like Siegfried or Cybele. She could still try. Even with her willow branch. Cybele wanted her to try. So she had to try.
Arricia wiped her mouth on the back of her hand, dried her eyes, and set her shoulders.
"TAKE THIS YOU OVERGROWN BOA CONSTRICTOR!" she screamed as she launched herself into the air - shocking her with how high she could jump - and using the willow branch like a whip.

She was at least pleased to see the others hadn't been sitting on their asses twiddling their thumbs all the while. The strange arrow and chain that shot from... a scale? It was clearly a construction of the Dark Mirror Court, odd as it was. Effective, though. She was less impressed with the sudden moonbeam and the strange... illusion or something up above. She gave a light, delicate huff through her nose. The Queen's power had been far superior to whatever that had been. Still. It had been useful. At least while the arrow and chain had harpooned and restrained the creature, the additional damage could be some level of effective. It became smaller--and then it crashed down onto the shield.
Carnotite hissed as she felt the electricity race through her, burn her, in a way such energy hadn't truly hurt her in... in years. "How dare you," she seethed quietly towards the creature that flopped around on top of the shield like a landed fish. Still partly in its escape route, it seemed. She could see the sudden intense light of a sixth spike, and a cruel smile came across her lips. Pleased at the outcome--even if she had little faith in the rather tiny child who grabbed it. Oh well. So long as it was done.
Looking up to where the thing lay heavy against the shield, her smile all but held fangs as she registered something was... different with the gravity now. Perfect. Electricity surged through her hands, the air popping and crackling with the energy as she took a few steps away from the Velencians. She already had a much higher jump than she did as a civilian... but now? Now, Carnotite crouched, and launched herself upwards, fist flashing into a brief, unstable blue before she made contact with the creature's underside. There'd been another boost she'd felt... and she certainly appreciated it.
Landing, she huffed, moving her hair over her shoulder before facing the Velencians from where she stood a bit away to ensure no one had been hit by her electricity--namely, the one she spoke to previously (Fangnyl) and one of the higher ranking ones (Aliez). Carnotite's Physical Ability: Electric Assault xxxxxCarnotite is capable of focusing her electricity into a burst discharge or infuse her physical attacks with an electric kick. When focusing her natural electricity into the air around her, the air begins to charge and crackle immediately around her before a burst of electricity rushes out in a radius of 6 feet. This burst delivers a jittering shock that can cause strong aches and pains at the point of contact, however, it only causes physical marks or longer lasting damage at player choice. If the shock is delivered in a punch, kick, or other physical body connection, the shock itself is still the same strength and physical marks or longer lasting damage is again up to player choice.
Upon the use of her powers, the part of Carnotite's body where her electricity is focused becomes, for a split second, unstable (see aprox here for idea). That is, during the time of her actually funnelling her electricity out of her body in large bursts, it momentarily causes that portion of her body to radiate light, as if only a thin layer of skin were containing the electricity within. ((NOTE: It does not add to her power level, the damage delivered, or anything other than flavor text. While I might note it in posts, other players are not required to acknowledge it if they wish. The moment her powers are “out,” that is, sent towards her target/opponent(s), her body returns to its normal stable condition. Under normal conditions, she is entirely stable and does not have this full effect anywhere on her body. ))

Oh ******** right off with that s**t that surged through the space as a bolt of Chaos slammed into the snake. It made her nauseous and her skin crawl - reminding her entirely too much of the last time she'd felt so much Chaos at once. She was back on that hilltop when the Vanguard gave them to Metallia for one moment before massive scales crashed into the shield. The shield the Vanguard had created.
"Man, wonder how much energy that cost the Negaverse, because that felt absolutely disgusting..."
Spikes were slammed to place around the eye of the storm, some sharing some sort of energy load and others simply going at it alone. Then someone called out to Hati and she turned her head to grin at the white deer senshi. She didn't know the other senshi that came with him, but Procyon got a grin as well.
"Welcome to the chaos! Not liter---" her words were caught off as something fired out of one of the scales and the beast roared in pain. The cloud split for the briefest moment and then the snake was falling falling fall---
White hot electricity shot through her legs and Skoll shouted a string of curses. That hurt like a b***h.
But now the creature was close enough to hit.
"Let's kick some snake a**! Skoll's Pack Offensive!" Skoll howled into the sky, the sound echoing around herself and the four others around her to provide some extra speed and power for their attacks.
Quote:
Super Sailor Attack: [ Skoll's Pack Offensive ] Skoll calls her magic and howls. They eyed the group of the Vanguard for a moment before racking their boltcaster. A part of them felt... guilt that they were not just following them. But ever since it became clear to Neryn that their Commodore had just used the people of Earth for his own ends - even if those end were the benefit of their own people - Neryn had seen him and the others as different. Or maybe it was Neryn who'd been changed by going to Earth. Maybe that was it. Those who followed Lyndin were focused on saving their world.
As they watched a giant harpoon shoot out of one of the slowly sinking scales, all they could see was that hill top again. See themself shoot their fellow cadet, feel themself lock up and unable to make a decision. Could Neryn even call themself Velencian anymore?
The beast slamming into the shield shook them out of their thoughts, white hot lightning shooting up their bones and nerves.
Right. The mission. They needed to focus on the mission. If they died here, or if Earth was eaten, there wouldn't be any saving Velencya one way or the other.
"It's close enough to hit! Let us bring it down, Lysvi!" A hand brushed against the pin to activate it, and Neryn took a shot at the beast above them.
Fangnyl smiled warmly at Carnotite. "Thank you, really," he said sincerely. The electricity around the half-youma's hair made him a little nervous, but he didn't mind so much. It just meant she could access more energy to give to the shield, which they desperately needed.
The Calamitous Hollow crashing into the shield made him jump, and without thinking about it, seizing the opportunity, he hurled his sword at the monster, hoping it would hit.
He flashed Aliez a grateful smile for the extra shield surrounding them, and then nodded to Carnotite and held out a fresh Source Stone.
Amsvartnir gasped when the Calamitous Hollow crashed into the shield, flinching back slightly beneath the secondary shield one of the Vanguard was providing. This thing probably needed more charge. He could do that. He could also attack it, but he figured most people would be attacking the monster, and he wanted to continue trying to protect people. The shield would surely be one of the best ways to do that.
"Keep taking energy from me," he called out to any of the Vanguard who felt like doing so. "I can handle it."
He realized, of course, he could still think fairly clearly. Could still attack. He pointed his staff at the ravenous beast and began channeling his magic, the colorful stars pouring from the mouth of the howling wolf at the top of it, soaring up and up until they smacked into the hide of the Hollow.
The damn snake monster crashing down surprised him. Some kind of beam, another one that wasn't one from the Negaverse. Or something. He wasn't paying that much attention to what the Chaos freaks were up to. Not so long as it was destroying their collective enemy instead of each other.
Taking a deep breath, he glanced at his companions nearby, and decided, if he was lucky and his magic worked, now would be a good time. All them were clearly stronger than he was, and they could use his magic to their advantage.
Amateru sucked in a sharp breath when the attack from the strange, other kind of Chaos senshi punched the Calamitous Hollow form the sky, forcing it to land on the shield from the collection of purple aliens. Okay. That was good.
Pressing a kiss to Elkurud's forehead, he pulled away and snarled, snapping out his healing magic. He wouldn't let Elkurud or himself die. Not now. Not after they'd just found each other.
Dark Mirror Sailor Telesto, Senshi of Pressure Location: H9 Action: Attacking the Calamitous Hollow with everything they have; late blooming senshi double, metallic bracelet double, and purple diamond pin bonus. Total: 35 {[5(roll) x 2(metallic bracelet) x 2(late bloom senshi)] + 10(purple diamond pin) + 5(rank 1)} HP: 55 [100 - 35(hollow shock) - 10(attack recoil)] (my previous post) (prompt I am responding to) (Hybris' post)
So much happened at once. It was glorious.
As Telesto was preparing to coordinate some convoluted method of getting as many combatants as possible on the creature's back, it was as if Mirrorspace answered them. The tethered arrow shot forth from the reflection of the creature's own scale and pierced the beast, holding it in place and dragging it down.
For the briefest moment Telesto focused on how Mirrorspace had managed to create something and sent it outside of its own realm. That was not supposed to be possible, even the Wraiths never technically left the domain of reflections, yet this arrow did. Was this realm between universes somehow part of the Mirrorspace, or was it connected to it in some way? Was there a way to continue this practice? The questions burned through their mind in a moment, but were rushed aside as the opportunity presented itself.
It was time to attack!
Telesto's hands flattened out, stretching their palms wide as possible to create the most surface area, as they summoned forth their magic. They could feel the ebb and flow of their altered magic, a cost of awakening so late in this incarnation, but all the same they seized hold of it. The power of pressure spreading over their palms, like a coating that would stick to whatever they touched, bringing them under the suffocating aura of their power.
They offer a small glance back to Hybris, smiling. "I will return, do not worry."
With a strong kick, off they rocketed, upwards to close the distance between themselves and the Calamitous Hollow. They gave thanks to the Mirrorspace for bringing it closer, exactly what Telesto always needed. Now they only had to hope that their magic could aid in the act of keeping it close and still. As they neared the creature's mass, their hands struck out with force towards the beast.
"Crushing Touch!" They roar out!
One. Two. Three. Four. Five!
In strong succession their hands fly out, connecting with the beast's hide, each strike pushing their magic on to the creature, suffocating it with the blow and its pressuring aura.

Character Name, Rank, and a link to their journalCadet Lysanna Location: C10 - E5 (( exempt this round only from movement restrictions )) Action: Feeling glad for Hugbell's company, watching the latest assault on the Calamitous Hollow before receiving Vyn's message and making the effort to get someplace closer in order to rendezvous. (( end of post marks arrival to E5 )) Total: n/a this round. (not attacking) HP: 100 - 35 = 65hp
The sight of both an arrow and chain and moonlight breaking through the storm clouds to strike out at the beast that everyone had come to turn back or destroy had Lysanna stumbling. The surge of energy that washed over the field had the unintended effect of sending the largest electrical shock through her that she could remember experiencing. The cadet watched in horror as the creature writhed in place before crashing onto the shields. Would they all perish here? It seemed as if there was still a chance. The shields held and it was all that Lysanna could do not to dance in glee. Instead she closed her eyes for a moment before regaining a sense of focus.
"If we can find my group I could introduce you to more members of the Vanguard. We're actually called Velencians though," her gaze swept over the field before her and she grimaced. "As for where the group is, I'm not sure. It was why I sent the message through my device. Hopefully I should be getting a response soon-"
Even as she spoke these words she pressed a few buttons in sequence before another voice echoed up through the tech. She listened before issuing her own reply, "Acknowledged Vyn. I'm starting towards the center of the field at once."
Sighing with relief Lysanna turned away from the area she was in and started moving away with a quick stride. Her eyes never left the sight of the giant beast wallowing on the shields as others began to pepper it with attacks. She kept her stride shortened just in case Hugbell could not keep up. There was still danger all around and Lys knew that at any moment she could be crushed. Her hand went to the hilt of her axe and she kept it there in case it needed to be withdrawn quickly.
It could have been just a nice stroll in the middle of the field of battle if Lysanna didn't have to constantly check for dangers that could have been lurking but she'd be a poor addition to the Vanguard if she didn't acknowledge that there could still be enemies on the ground and not just the one flailing on the shields. It would take a little longer, but she would take the risk in order to avoid catastrophe for herself, and Hugbell.
And maybe that was for the best because pretty soon Lysanna began to catch sight of other individuals on the horizon. The scan device on her Comtech began to beep at her and while she was sure that those of the Negaverse wouldn't harm her, she couldn't guarantee Hugbell's safety and it was with a bit of a sigh that she made to move past the large grouping of Chaos-aligned individuals into a more friendly grouping of Order for the Eternal Senshi of Comfort.
Aquitania watched the Calamitous Hollow be struck twice more--once by an arrow trailing a chain behind it, seeming to fly out of the reflective surface of one of the falling scales, and then by a beam from the moon itself--and writhe painfully in place, screeching in pain, its voice probably not dissimilar to a ship hitting an iceberg and sinking to the bottom of the sea.
And then it crashed toward the shield, sending sparks of electricity through everyone present. Aquitania whimpered in pain.
But not all of the Calamitous Hollow landed on the shield. The spike in its damaged tail fin shot through, to be caught by the chibi that had just joined them, who then promptly sprinted toward the opposite end of the field, just as suddenly as she arrived, the knight going with her. The Senshi of Courage blinked in mild befuddlement. "...Bye, I guess?" she murmured confusedly. No introductions had been offered, and she had no idea whether she'd get a chance to ask later.
Above them, a cracking sound could be heard. Aquitania glanced up. The Calamitous Hollow was trying to scrape itself off the surface of the shield, and its 20' long claws were digging into the shield.
Turning to the other people around her, even the ones who weren't clustered in their group, she addressed everyone. "Hey, everybody, I know not all of us know each other, and everyone may be busy doing their own things, but there is something I can do for everyone nearby. If everyone with a weapon or who can hurt the Calamitous Hollow can get in really, really close, I can give everyone a boost!"
Once people got in close enough, she pumped her fist, and shouted, "AQUITANIA COURAGE BOOST!"
Quote:
This boost is available to anyone intending on attacking the Calamitous Hollow in G8! Each attacker gets a +1. (Sorry, there's rather more people in the square than one basic chibi can support! crying So the boost has to be split based on need!)
Quote:
Aquitania Courage Boost! Aquitania pumps her fist in the air clutching a small ball of light and calls out this attack, and allies within a 5' radius feel a small boost of courage. The effects last for about 25 seconds. It will mostly counteract the effects of first stage emotional attacks, will only partially counteract the effects of second stage emotional attacks, and will not counteract the effects of third stage emotional attacks. The ball of light cannot be used for attack. It can be used three times per day.
Aberdonia smiled and nodded at Tianyi. "See? Not nothing." He shared his smile with the other senshi here before turning his attention to the spike-wielder, Murikabushi.
Honestly, it wasn't a bad little speech. Not elegant by any stretch of the imagination, but fun to listen to. And clearly not a very judgmental person, given that he said that they should not pick on members of the Negaverse for things their queen had done, since they also loved the Earth. Hearing this, much as there was a non-zero chance that the Negaverse could fork them later, Aberdonia made a mental note that Murikabushi was worthy of trust and respect. Maybe not trust to keep his mouth shut, Murikabushi seemed like the person to run his mouth to the wrong people and take punishment for it, but to respect and understand other people, and to be a person you could trust to have your back in a fight.
It felt, in the moment, worth a lot.
And then there was a screeching sound, and flashes of light.
Aberdonia glanced up to spot an arrow trailing a chain piercing the Calamitous Hollow's underbelly, and its shrinking shape suffused with a pearlescent beam of light from the Moon.
Right before it crashed into the shield, sending sparks of electricity thrumming through everyone present.
Aberdonia grunted in pain before turning to Namaka. "Okay. It sounds like now is a good time to get a shield going for whoever needs it and can afford to snuggle in close." Taking a deep breath and centering his attention on Murikabushi and Elsa, he shouted, "PAPYRUS PROTECTION!"
Quote:
Everyone in E10 can take advantage of this! 4 damage can be prevented!
Quote:
Papyrus Protection Aberdonia calls out the name of his attack and conjures a shield made from papyrus; it is six feet wide and six feet tall. He can cast the shield on himself or on someone else. Once cast, no one can enter or exit the shield and it will move according to the location of the target. For thirty seconds, it will block all first stage attacks (including magic and weapons). It can reduce damage from second stage attacks and may deflect magic or physical attacks. It cannot defend against attacks from third stage or higher. This magic can be used three times per day.
