Soquili's Name: Lilith
Name Meaning: 'of the night'

Personality of Soquili: (Temper: Drowsy) Though not lazy or narcoleptic Lilith is close friends with her dreams and no stranger to sleep itself. She can find her asleep if given a few minutes alone to close her eyes. She can be active and keep conversation, but she's not one to go bouncing off the walls and be hyper, talk your ear off sort. She is rather calm otherwise, but prone to wander and when she wanders she usually finds a nice shady spot to lay and can nap the day away leaving her to be up at night. Even when she doesn't nap during the day she finds herself awake long into the night and will just stare at the sky.....admiring the wonders above her.
Prompt Response

........zzzzz....a light moan escapes the filly as her eyes open again from a nap. Looking around she seemed dazed, trying to remember where she was. Lilith stretched and then walked out from under the tree she had found earlier for her nap. She looked to the sky trying to guess how long this nap had been, but it was hard to tell she guessed it was a short one though by how she felt. She tended to feel more tired after the shorter naps, which was the case this time.

With another stretch and look at the clouds above she smiled and decided to wander again to see what and who there was to see. She headed back to where her siblings and parents might be, but before she got there she found another, one who she had been told was a great uncle. He greeted her and they exchanged a brief introduction and he asked her if she was more like her mother or her father. She had to stop and think for a moment her eyes still looking dazed and drowsy from her recent nap.

She again looked to the sky and focused on the clouds overhead, " Light in the clouds...I like the clouds. But I get sleepy during the day, or I sleep when Im bored and then Im up all night staring at all the twinkling lights in the sky....." she paused and looked back at her great uncle with a smile. "Momma sleeps a lot, she falls asleep standing, I make sure to find a nice patch of grass. I do like to explore too.....Daddy....is a good daddy, he doesn't know how good, that's what mommy says."

She let her smile fade and her expression was blank and she cocked her head and thought about the rest of what her great uncle said. "I don't understand though....how do I feel about what....I love my mommy and daddy and my brother and sisters...they are my family, but what's worried? What's it mean to be worried?" Lilith knew the word, but wasn't sure of it's meaning as she was still young and not well-versed, but she would soon learn and grow. She soon parted ways with her uncle and was left to wander the land again, she found her mother awake with her siblings and father and went to join them only to take another nap beside her snoozing mother only a short time later...dreaming of the clouds and meeting the twinkling lights that shine in the night.

Why do you want this basket?: Its a pretty family and the family itself is a bit out of the box for what Im used to and I like a challenge and Im always wanting to try something new and broaden my horizon(cheesy I know but there it is xD). They are gorgeous though, very much so. Good luck, I know you'll find them the perfect homes.

Soquili's Name: Laurel
Name Meaning: Honor

Personality of Soquili: (Temper: Adventurous) She is outgoing and very energetic where her mother and siblings may be a little more drowsy or off in dreamland. She is extroverted always wanting to learn something new and explore new places where her father may be more introverted and unsure of somethings. But she is very caring and being the middle child she does not feel overlooked as some would, she cares for her family too much and often looks over them as they sleep and tries to keep light conversation with her father. As much as she wishes to 'spread her wings and fly' she is happy to stay on the ground watch over those she loves.

Prompt Response
It had been a day where father was with mother and her siblings as they dozed in and out if it and did their own thing, for once giving Laurel a chance to venture and explore the land a bit. She bounced on her hooves as she roamed around until she soon came to one she knew as her Great Uncle Remiel. She bowed her head in polite greeting and then listened to his very peculiar question.

Though Laurel found the question odd she found it enjoyable at the safe time for it did make her stop and think and after a few moment she glanced up at Remiel with a small smile and gave the best answer she could. "Neither I think? I don't tire easily but I wish I could fly about the clouds and explore the land and sky..the world really, but I worry and care for my family too much. I need them and they need me, Im not ready to leave them, but one day I hope to go on a grand adventure meeting many unique creatures that I can come home and tell them all about, or even better maybe we could all go together.....But Im neither my mother or my father...I am myself...I am Laurel"

She smiled wider with a determined nod of her head and soon parted ways and headed back to where her parents and siblings were to dream of an adventure they could all go on together one day.

Soquili's Name: Haka Amachi
Name Meaning: (from Wikipedia) Haka (singular is the same as plural: haka) is a traditional dance form of the Māori of New Zealand. It is a posture dance performed by a group, with vigorous movements and stamping of the feet with rhythmically shouted accompaniment.

Personality of Soquili: stalwart

Prompt Response

(for the purpose of this prompt, I'm using one of my own Soquili, Uriel.)

Haka had been eager to set out on this quest. The young foal had been bothering his parents for days about it, and now the day had finally come. He gleefully pranced behind Uriel, the wind mare that was to be his guardian. He didn't know much about her, only that his parents had asked her to watch over him. This didn't matter much to the colt. All that mattered was his quest to prove himself and earn that second bell. Then maybe he wouldn't have to play nursemaid to his siblings so much.

It wasn't so much that he minded looking after his siblings, it's just hat Haka would like to be able to explore or play sometimes as well. And this was his chance to prove that.....he was lost. He'd been so lost in thought that he'd taken a wrong turn somewhere and lost sight of Uriel. He looked around, but the wind mare was no where. Looking up, he was completely hidden by the tree canopy.

"Oh...now what?" Haka muttered, looking around. He leaned against a tree, hoping his guardian would come looking for him. He was a big boy, and he wasn't about to cry about this.

The colt closed his eyes, trying to think...then he heard something. There was a rhythmic beat coming from above. He looked up to see the breeze knocking a few tree limbs together. He smiled, despite his situation, and moved a little to the rhythm. He stamped his hooves, moving from side to side. A little jump, a little kick. Hey...this was like a dance.

Haka paused for a moment, then grinned broadly. He started the steps again, listening for the rhythm, then started making vocal sounds in time with he beat. They were soft at first, then louder as he got in sync with the movement and the tree branches. It didn't take long before he was worn out. His frustration at being lost had faded as well from the dance. He tilted his head, my...what a way to express yourself. It was fun, too.

Hearing a sound, the colt turned to see Uriel pushing through the brambles. Any vexation that'd been on her face when she reached him faded, replaced by solace. "Where have you been, foal? I turned to ask you something and you were gone. I've been looking for you. Come, it's getting late. We should head back to your herd."

"Alright," Haka muttered, hoping he wasn't in trouble. He wanted to get back soon, though, even if his quest had failed. He wanted to show his father the dance he'd made up...or was he taught by the tree? Either way, it was a good way to express yourself, and maybe it could be used to scare off enemies to the herd if more than one used it. At the very least, it was a good exercise. He let his mind race all the way back to his herd, following Uriel closely.

How active are you in Soquili?: I'm fairly active, checking in daily.

Why do you feel you should get a basket/be picked as co-owner for a foal?: I've always loved this family, they have an amazing story around them. I'm eager to get in and help out with family plots, current or future.

Why do you want this basket?: An older brother set to look after his younger siblings. I've only had younger siblings, or my foals never got to interact with their siblings. I'd love the chance to be able to play out a different role than I've rp'd before.

Soquili's Name: Magdalena
Name Meaning: I decided to try to stay with the altered Biblical names. This is the origional version of Magedelene, the Surname of Mary Magdalene. (from wikipedia)

Personality of Soquili: Judicious.
I see her being very astute and headstrong. Finding her own path and following it, despite the costs. Though she won't walk the path of evil, not all her actions may be seen as 'good'. She's very eager to learn about things going on around her, esepcially if it's the arcane or mysteries of the land. She may travel from time to time, but will always return home.

Prompt Responce prompt 2

Light in the clouds like father, or sleepy headed like mom. Are you the kind who finds themself tired suddenly like she is, or always wondering and worried like your father? How does this make you feel? I don't expect a huge explanation. . . you are just a child.

Magdelena looked at her uncle, blinking a moment in thought. "I don't think I can tire easily if I'm searching for answers. I may wander, but never with worry. I will wander to look for mysteries to unravel. If I do sleep like my mother, I hope to find meaning in my dreams. If I take to the clouds, I'll let the light guide me to what I seek. I hope that can answer your riddle, Uncle."

Why do you want this basket?: Something about the basket got my creative juices flowing. I have an idea of what direction she might take, and it's not evil. Like her namesake, I'd like to go with the misunderstood part. Where as she's headstong and stands her ground, even if she is viewed as worse than she is.

Soquili's Name: Asenath
Name Meaning: It is of Egyptian origin, and the meaning of Asenath is "she belongs to her father". Also possibly from Aramaic meaning "thorn bush" or from an Egyptian name meaning "gift of Isis". Biblical: Joseph's Egyptian wife. Found in Genesis 41:45

Personality of Soquili: Full of life and energy, Asenath is ready for anything. She lacks a certain degree of fear and has just a touch of aggressiveness. Asenath is not the sort to just sit around watching the clouds or a bug crawling on a leaf. She would rather be attempting to outrace a thunderstorm, dodging hail as it falls, or seeing if she can swim deeper then any of her siblings. Asenath is not a cruel girl however, she just has a competitive and restless spirit.

Prompt Response Prompt 1: It's a lovely day, your siblings have gone to pester dad and mom seems to have fallen asleep standing again, stricken by a sleeping illness she seems to have had since she was younger she says. Suddenly graced with so much to do, what do you do, where do you go, and what kind of goods or evils are lurking in the darkness?

Normally Asenath would have followed her siblings to contend with them for her fathers attention. Today though she was not in the mood to playfully headbutt her family members, or tug on their tails, or attempt to n** one of daddies feathered wings just so he'd focus on her a little bit more then anyone else. No. Today she had planned on demanding her mothers attention all for herself. So when she had fallen asleep Asenath found herself at a loss. She did not play rough with her mother. While there was the temptation to headbutt her and see if she fell over...she never ever played like that with her mom. So then what could she do? Asenath turned around in a slow circle, her ears pricking forwards and her little hooves dancing with unspent energy under her. Okay...well..a run! She'd go for a run. OH! A absolutely lovely idea occurred to her! No one was here, so she could go as far as she wanted! No parents to keep a watchful eye and ensure she didn't wander off. No siblings to go running to mother or father or grandmother to tattle on her. Asenath's tail swished and snapped behind her as a pleased feeling filled her. Ha ha! With a little bounce, she took off at a dead run. Instead of tiring with the exertion of energy to run as fast as she could, the tiny thumps of her hooves on the ground, the feeling of the wind rushing through her short fluffy mane, and the way her tail snapped with each lunge forwards all heightened her level of excitement. It gave her a sort of thrill, this sense of wild freedom, that she just did not want to stop.

Asenath's hooves dug into the earth, causing small little gouges to form as she came to a sudden halt. Her mane flopped limply over her eyes and she panted with her tongue lolling out of her mouth. To her, it felt like she had run for miles. Now before her was land she had never ever seen before! Deep murky water covered with large lily pads and cat tails swaying along the edges laid before her. Asenath stood still for a moment and inspected the pond. How neat! She had not known anything like this was here! Once she had gotten her breath back she casually approached the water. A soft 'Plip plip' sound caused her to pause. Swiveling her ears on her head, she leaned down to stare at the water. Under some stones, she saw two big eyes staring back at her.

Frogs! Asenath took a step into the water, and the frog darted off through the muck. It's legs kicked up a concealing cloud..and thus a new game was born. In a matter of moments, Asenath was racing around through the shallows of the pond. Frogs darted under the water at her approach, then off again into deeper water as she would splash around near them. Mucky water splashed up around her, flecking her coat with brown spots. Tendrils of pond plants splashed up around her narrow legs. She did not give any thought to the possible mishap that could occur if she actually managed to catch one of the frogs, all she cared about was the game itself.

All that splashing about led to the attraction of something other then a frog or fish however. Something lurked in the lake and watched the small filly at play. As Asentha wandered into deeper and deeper water, the watcher silently slunk closer. It was only when Asentah realized there were no more frogs, or even fish, in the area of the pond that she was playing in that she noticed the strange quiet. Her ears lifted and pointed ahead as muddy water dripped from her make and soft fur. From the deeper water a scaled body lunged forwards. Asenath's head whipped around, and for a brief moment she stood with a befuddled expression.

The kelpie moved rather swiftly through the water, far more quickly then Asenath could imagine possible, and as such was nearly upon her before it dawned on her to run. Asenath lunged through the water. She attempted to bound with her forelegs together, like she had seen deer do when running. The Kelpie was so quick though! Asentha felt something hard scrape across her left flank, but then she was out of the water. She did not stop to look back, so she did not see the self satisfied smirk on the Kelpies face after chasing her out of it's territory. The little filly raced with her ears laid back and her neck stretched out as quickly as she could. Her heart beat quickly in her chest, but she was not blinded by fear. No no! Sure, she was scared a bit, and sure she did not stop running until she recognized the tree's around her. She was not scare one bit! Asenath sat down hard on the grass and peered over her shoulder the way she had run. She was exhausted though. her leg's were shaking, and now that she looked she could see a long scratch running over her flank. It wasn't deep though. Was it because the Kelpie had not gotten a good strike on her? Or had that been on purpose?

She could ask her parents she supposed, but in doing so that would be telling them where she had been. Would that get her in more trouble? Ah! She knew! Smiling brightly at her 'genius' idea, Asenath slowly got to her feet. She'd ask one of her siblings to ask her parents about what was over this way. Then she could find out about the Kelpie..and if she could go play a new game...one of HA HA Can't get me!

Why do you want this basket?: I would love the chance to play a Soq from it's birth up to it's adult stage. I have one Soq, Ishika, whom I won at the adult stage. I want the chance to have a Soq be developed by it's RP interactions. I think the family itself would give me the chance to have a little daredevil and see if she get's worse, or wiser, as she grows.

Soquili's Name: Jubilee-z
Name Meaning: A special year for the remission of sins and universal pardon. It is also the name of a book, sometimes known as the "Lesser of Genesis".

Personality of Soquili: Jubilee-z is one that will be challenged by a recurring vision of an Angel. If she ever steps anywhere close to a deed or action that could be deemed evil, she will see this angel appear to her in a wordless dream. This Angel will serve as a right of way, keeping her safe from doing harm in the dark of night. As maturity comes of her, she will realize that these aren't merely some childhood conjured manifestations of her imagination. It might just entice her to evoke the mirage intentionally. No longer plagued with the fear of a foal, she will begin to linger and dabble with the dark side of life. Strictly with the intention of seeing her Angel. . Only time will tell, if she will ever do anything to make her Angel appear in the flesh. When it does, she will gain total pardon for any sins. (She will never do anything extremely evil or sadistic. Ever.) Aside from this, she has one other thing about her personality...on to the prompt!

Prompt Responce (Prompt tuu)

Jubilee-z pondered the riddle, letting it dance around her mind. Being of youth didn't keep her from being intellectual. Well, she could learn to enunciate a little better, but that would come with age.

"Why are clouds light Mistur?" she said with a quizzical wrinkle and tilt of her face. And why was he comparing her daddy to clouds? Was daddy light too? One day, she would realize why he was making this comparison, but for now, she was curiously clueless.

Not to be fooled by her common curiosity though, for the second half of the riddle, she knew the answer all too well. "Mommy does sleep a whole bunch." she confirmed first, with a matter-of-fact nod. Tiny boney shoulders then shrugged up and paused there for a second. "She said I got all her lost awake time." her shoulders dropped back down. "While everyone else sleeps, I stay awake." she said with a big grin, recalling with perfection, the way each of her siblings and parents looked while sleeping. Jubilee-z enjoyed her quiet moments in which to observe the shadows around her. The shadows were like a playmate, and she could watch them creep and move as the moon light passed by. In her minds eye, she knew the way the nights twinkle hit her mothers pale face. Or the way the shadows beckoned over her fathers wings.

"And! When Grandma Rie comes over, she stays up all night with me!" she said with a burst of elation out of nowhere, recalling the nights spent with Sabriel-V. This was a special treat, since her two sisters, and her brother, always fell asleep.

"It does make me sleepy though. Sometimes." she said without much inflection of care one way or the other. "But whenever I lay down, I'm awake all of a sudden. Daddy said he's seen me sleep, but I don't me-member." She shrugged again and then began to teeter from side to side. The conversation was making her feel a little fidgety, a sign of her still young heart. Yes, she was a child, but luckily one with a loving family. And odd family, but loving none-the-less.

Why do you want this basket?: The family is pure muse to me. I'm done trying to breed for babies in soquili. I want substance to my characters! Umpf! Gusto! This family has all these things. =3 There will be much enjoyment in bringing this personality in Jubilee-z to life.

Soquili's Name: Alcmene
Name Meaning: Greek: Might of the Moon

Personality of Soquili: Strong and independent minded, but still close to the family. She loves her siblings and is brave and adventurous. She likes to wander out and about but often comes back home to be with the herd, especially her mother, who she is close to. She feels a lot for her mother,
Prompt Responce

Prompt 1: It's a lovely day, your siblings have gone to pester dad and mom seems to have fallen asleep standing again, stricken by a sleeping illness she seems to have had since she was younger she says. Suddenly graced with so much to do, what do you do, where do you go, and what kind of goods or evils are lurking in the darkness?

Mum had fallen asleep again.... The young foal's eyes looked up to the young lady. Her eyes cast to the larger soq, asleep, maybe still standing as well with her affliction in mind. Gently, she kissed her mother's cheek...or flank...whichever she could reach and whispered to her "I'll be back..don't you worry." knowing that she slept fairly soundly this way.

The little foal made herself scarce, heading off on her own into the forest nearby. She skitters around, half nervous, half in wonder at the sights and sounds there was around here. streaks of light can be seen through the trees as the little foal trudged through the forest, unguarded, unsupervised with an open mind.

She admired it's beauty. The soft trills of the birds and the chirps of the insects the air. The sunlight passing through casting the forest a golden veil of light. The flowers and the dew shined in this veil of light. The scent of the flowers and fruit hovered in the air, causing the female to wander inf further, enticed by the experience.

Yet, in the hear of the forest, it wasn't always this pretty. She chanced upon a clearing and stopped, hidden as her instincts and smell caught of something...rotten. There inside was a wolf, a single wolf, not like most of the ones she had seen. The pelt was bloody and dirty, it's prey fallen down eviscerated. Her eyes widened by the scene as the wolf dug in...and slowly...she witnessed something.... This was no ordniary wolf, this was a walker. The canine form slowly morphing into a black beast, majestic, dangerous...ruthless. The predatory equine dug in into it's kill, her nostrils deep into the flesh of it's prey, an unfortunate deer. The foal's eyes widened, running back quickly before the creature would catch on.

Then and there, in one afternoon, she saw the beauty of the forest...but also the darkness within.

Why do you want this basket?: I need to re-stimulate my muse. Granted I've been trying to get back into rping here. (Though limited time due to Thesis and somewhat disappearing rp partners.) Plus, I think I can expand my foal story too...

Soquili's Name: Andante Amachi
Name Meaning: Definition: The Italian musical term andante is an indication to play with a moderatetempo; to play in a light, flowing manner. Andante is slightly faster than adagietto, but slower than moderato.

BPM of Andante:
• Andante has about 76-108 beats per minute.

Also Known As: “walking tempo,” because it imitates the rhythm of a slow pace.

Pronunciation: ahn-dahn'-tay

Personality of Soquili:
He’s a very sweet boy. His main problem is that he is often torn between causing his mother anxiety and following his dreams. His deep concern for
her both pushes him forward and pulls him back. He wants to be a protector partially from his belief that he must protect his siblings, but also the fact that somewhere deep inside him it’s what he really wants. He’s filled with compassion and strength, his great love of family is his mainstay and will keep him going when everything else will be pushing him down.

However he has a lighter side to himself. Though mostly stoic, and withdrawn into himself, he does enjoy dancing, and storytelling. Though, he rarely will do it in front of everyone because of his quiet nature.

Prompt Responce

Andante Amachi was standing in the middle of nowhere, or at least it seemed like nowhere. He didn’t know this place and he was alone. For a moment, he felt fear—he’d never been away from his family, his herd before and now he was there completely alone. As his eyes scanned around the area, he saw nothing familiar. There was no marker that showed which way he had come, or at least not that he could remember, and no sign of his guardian.

He knew that if his mother knew what was happening right now, that she would be beside herself with worry. Ever since his older brother had been taken, she seemed more worried than ever for the remaining children to be safe. He had heard Cabriole spoken of, but not often. He had long wondered, if he would ever see his brother or would Cabriole ever know of him?

But that was beside the point. He was alone, and mother would not be pleased at all. Torn between an intense desire to strike out on his own like any adventurous boy, and to wait for his guardian, Cuauhcoatl to find him. For a moment, the war raged on within him, if his mother knew she would be unhappy that he didn’t stay put until his godfather could retrieve him, but Andante would be ashamed. It was his job after all as eldest brother to take care of his siblings. How could he take care of them, if he didn’t take care of himself?

Taking a first hesitant step forward, he paused again. This was wrong, he should stay. He’d really disappoint his mother if he did. Putting his foot back, he was on the verge of sitting down when his brow furrowed again. He couldn’t just sit here! Not in the open, at least. This was his opportunity for an adventure, a way to find a way to get a bell on his own. How could he stand here if he one day hoped to be a protector of the herd?

It was what he was born to do. He had three siblings, which was mor e than his family had hoped or planned for, and since birth he had felt more responsible for them. He was the eldest, and it was his job to take care of them. He had born into this role, and he had accepted it.

Yet, that wasn’t quite true. Would it have mattered if he had been born first or last? Without having to think about it, he could answer that simply—no. It was something he hadn’t really thought about before now. It wasn’t a role he was born into, it was something that was born into him. He loved his family, and his first thoughts were to protect them, it wasn’t something he had ever been asked to do. Perhaps they had expected him to do it, but he done it long before he ever thought of that.

Andante Amachi lifted his head proudly, he felt like some kind of pressure had been lifted off him. It had been his choice after all, nothing forced on him, why had he ever felt like it was different? He knew then, that his mother would understand that he couldn’t just stand there. She would understand, and she would expect him to be the “old soul” she’d always called him. She wouldn’t be mad that he had struck out on his own, maybe she’d be concerned but she’d understand that it was who he was.

Resolutely, he took his first step with this new mindset. He felt free, and lighter than before—less conflicted. He took another step, then another. Now that the decision had been made, he needed to find something to earn his second bell before finding his godfather. Looking around at the vast open expanse, Andante decided to make his way to the water. He knew that it hadn’t been far away the last time he had seen it and it was where Cuauhcoatl had told him to head if he ever got lost. Find the river and follow it’s way downstream.

By following signs of vegetation, he found the small stream. Sticking his muzzle in water, he took a long sip as something caught his eye. Trudging into the water, he pulled out something solid and black. It was a rock worn smooth by the currents, possibly for years. The smooth black stone had withstood the water and the elements, but it was still glossy and undamaged.

For some reason, Andante Amachi felt something well inside of him. Maybe this journey wasn’t about finding great treasures like he had expected, but about discovering something within yourself you hadn’t realized before. Like this smooth stone, he was being worn away and smoothed until one day he would be done. He, Andante Amachi, would withstand the pounding torrents of the water trying to quelch and destroy him and survive like this small black stone.

He tucked the black stone into his satchel, as he heard the voice of Cuauhcoatl call to him.

How active are you in Soquili?: I’m very active. I’m there everyday, doing something. Sometimes I talk in thread a lot, or like lately, my sleep schedule has been totally thrown off from my husband working over time and me being sick so I’m more lurking. However, I’m ALWAYYS there.

Why do you feel you should get a basket/be picked as co-owner for a foal?: I’d love to be picked. The thought of being in a huge family to RP with is positively exciting. I only have one 2nd gen, with Spoof who was kind enough to share Lucian with me. Pending the arrival of a miracle baby, this is the only basket I’ve ever had.

So really, I’m just super excited at the chance at being involved with a family, on having to base a child’s actions on how he/she interacts with family and their traditions. I haven’t read all the Amachi RP (yet), but I LOVE what I’ve read so far.

Why do you want this basket?:
This one particularly, I love the sunshiney quality to it. And maybe it’s lame, but there are few times, contest or not, that I’m just like that’s the only one I like. I love to see the possibility in each pet, even ones others don’t think are pretty. And these are no different, I love all the baskets. What makes me love one more than another is what they become later and what they become to me.

So maybe, I might seem lame saying that I have no particular favourite or that I’m entering for all of them. But I honestly do like them all, and I’m pleased to be able to try for them. And I wouldn’t if I didn’t/couldn’t connect to each one.

Soquili's Name: Viola d'Amore Amachi
Name Meaning:
Viola d'Amore

The viola d'amore (Italian: love viol) is a 7- or 6-stringed musical instrument with sympathetic strings used chiefly in the baroque period. It is played under the chin in the same manner as the violin.
Personality of Soquili:
Viola is shy. Not quiet like her brother, but more shy about herself. She is outgoing about other things though. She loves to sing to the flowers and plants as she grows them and her ambition is to be a farmer and cultivater for the herd.

For now, she has no ambitions or urge to wander but as she gets older she'll come out of her shell more.
Prompt Responce

Viola d’Amore Amachi found herself alone, separated from Kaliska. She wasn’t sure how it had happened, but it had. She wasn’t exactly scared, but she was worried. Being away from her mentor and guide was not what she had expected at all, and Viola liked to plan things. This what not a part of that plan.

She had known, since she was small that she wanted to grow things for her people. Flowers were lovely, but she loved to grow more than that. The billowing grain that rose almost taller than her had been something she’d long loved, and the orange hue of the carrots as you dug them from the earthy ground. This had been her calling, and she had known that on this journey she would find a seed to bring back to her people. It had been what she planned, but now she was separated from Kaliska.

As Viola stood there, she realized that her mother and father would both rather that she find her way to Kaliska safely, but it wasn’t according to plan and for some reason that bothered her. Instead of waiting to be rescued, she would do like she believed she should. She would find a seed to bring back to her herd and get her second bell.

Proudly, she lifted her little head as he took to walking. After a short time, she came across a beautiful dusky rose. It seemed similar to the flowers back home, but in a shade she had never seen before. Carefully, she dug it up to preserve the roots and nested it in her small bag around her neck.

As she placed the flower in the bag, something familiar caught her eye. Her heart fluttered, she had been right to go according to plan! Because, there in front of her were the totems of her people. It must be a place of sanctuary. Running as fast as her little hooves would take her, she approached the circle of totems.

Bowing her head in reverence, she blessed the protection they afforded her. Approaching, the harpy eagle who carried messengers to her family, she asked. “Can you find Kaliska?”

Soquili's Name: Ishmela (from the name of Ishmael in the Bible)
Name Meaning: Ishmael (Hebrew: {יִשְׁמָעֵאל}, Modern Yishma'el Tiberian Yišmāʻēl ISO 259-3 Yišmaˁel; Greek: Ισμαήλ Ismaēl; Latin: Ismael; Arabic: إسماعيل‎ ʼIsmāʻīl) is a figure in the Hebrew Bible and the Qur'an, and was Abraham's first born child according to Jews,Christians and Muslims. Ishmael was born of Abraham's marriage to Sarah's handmaiden Hagar (Genesis 16:3). According to the Genesis account, he died at the age of 137 (Genesis 25:17).[1]
It is translated literally as "God has hearkened", suggesting that "a child so named was regarded as the fulfillment of a divine promise".
It is said that Ishmael, after being “freed/exiled” by his father Abraham became the father of the Arab nation and the forefather of Muhammed in Islam. Putting him in direct conflict with the nation of his brother Isaac.
Ishmael is a name commonly associated with exile/outcastes like in the famous quote from Moby d**k “Call me Ishmael.”

Personality of Soquili:
Ishmela feels like an outsider in her family. Prone to her mother’s sleeping sickness in a different way. Usually her sleeping is in shorter spurts, but come in terryfing and vivid nightmares or alternate realities. Most of the time she is unsaware of whether she is awake or dreaming until later.

However, she is kind like her mother though a bit distant like her father.
Prompt Responce
Response 1:
“Ishmela.” Opening her turquoise eyes, she glanced around. She was sure, that someone had called her. Looking around, she noticed her mother was standing, sleeping again. How long would she be away this time? She gave a small sigh, as she closed her eyes.

“Ishmela,” the whisper called again. Her eyes flashed open, and for a moment, she was taken back by what she saw. The world was alight with flames, the trees that had stood for centuries were burned. It seemed like their faces were alight with terror as they shook their limbs as if the fire was causing them intense pain.

For a moment, she stood there as her whole body shook. What was going on? As she looked frantically around, she discovered that her mother was gone…all of her family were gone! Where were they? How had this destruction happened in only a blink of the eye?

She took to her heels, fleeing the flames that surrounded her. But it seemed the moment; she took off in terror that the fire itself had chosen to chase her. She could feel the heat singeing her fur, licking at her hooves and threatening to engulf her. But she ran on, as the flames plagued her more and more.

Finally, just within sight was the ocean. The ocean? She had never realized it had been this close to her before, but she was glad for it now. When it seemed as if the flames would overtake her, she launched herself from the cliff into the water. As Ishmela crashed through the surface and sunk far beneath the waves, she began to kick her small legs.

She was safe from the flames! For a moment, her heart thrilled until a shadow passed over her. Her liquidy eyes, so much like her mothers, looked through the dense water where something seemed to loom. Peddling her legs faster toward the surface, she hazarded a look behind her.

It was a mistake.

Gaining on her, overtaking her measley little strokes was some creature she had never heard of. It’s wild eyes, and oversized teeth looming closer and closer as she struggled toward the surface. Her breath was almost out, and her chest was nearly bursting with exertion as she struggled toward the surface. It was only inches away! With one last push, she shot forward just as the mighty jaws began to close over the lower half of her body.

She knew she would feel pain, and then she’d be gone. Closing her eyes tightly, she prepared for death, but nothing came. No pain, no discomfort, no bright shining light….nothing.

Opening her eyes, she looked around. She was standing at home again, her mother dozing standing to the side while in the distance her siblings bothered her father. Had she been dreaming? Was this how her mother dreamed?

Why do you want this basket?: I love the idea of a new twist on an old concept of sleeping beauty. She's got vivid nightmares and things she struggles against. Nightmares that she alone endures, maybe there's a way to share them with others or maybe she'll only ever experience them.

I love the concept and the family, and the idea of having a family to influence her and work with is intoxicating.

Soquili's Name: Restez Amachi
Name Meaning: To remain or stay on a note or string (French). I'm seeing it as a trait of loyalty and the ability to dig in his hooves and stand strong.

Personality of Soquili: When he is a foal he will be strong and responsible as he can with his family. However, he puts a lot of pressure on himself to be the best big brother he can, and to be a model son, so that when he is on his own, he lets his mane down a little. There is still his serious side under the fun, and his protective nature when he is alone, just as there is still some of his fun side when he is with his family, it's just a matter of how much of each he allows to show.

Prompt Responce

It might well have been the first argument he ever had with his parents, the one that led up to his going on this journey the way he was. He didn't want to argue at all, but it was an important rite for his family. He was the eldest in his set, and if he didn't go, if he didn't show his parents that he would come home safely, how could his siblings ever get to go? As much as he wanted to o this for himself, and his connection to his family, he would have offered to wait until he was older, for his parent's sake, and so as to not argue with them. But that would have stuck his siblings with that battle. His role was to protect and take care of them, and he couldn't do that by hiding behind his desire to give in. So he fought his parents so that they wouldn't have to. Still, he did want to go. He just regretted that his mother couldn't have been thrilled for him, rather then worried, that his father couldn't have had faith in him rather then fear. Didn't he show them that he was strong and responsible? Weren't they proud of him? No, that was unfair. He knew that they loved him and they were proud of him, still he wished they'd have more faith in his ability to do this. After all, everyone else in the family had, and every one of the adults he spoke to in the family had survived it, so clearly it wasn't that dangerous. Right?

Of course.... He wasn't sure that any of them had ever gotten separated from their guide quite so quickly, if at all. Well... that wasn't good. He had been with one of his godparents, then he had taken those brave steps pat the boundaries he had spent his young life staring at. The tall grasses that marked where their parents didn't want them going alone. And he had pulled his siblings back from the border many times already. Now he finally got to go through and suddenly.... he was alone.

Not good not good not good! He should turn around and go home. His mother would have his tail if he didn't and she found out about it. She was so worried about this whole thing, which didn't make sense to him anyway. He'd be with the guardian the whole....

Restez blinked, then felt his eyes widen. Was this what his mother had been fretting over? Was this part of the test? Now he regretted that he had so stubbornly refused to ask anyone about their second bells. He had been afraid that anything they got he would be thinking of when he went out, and he wouldn't really find something himself. But if he had asked... would some one have warned him? His older sister maybe? She had just gone through hers when his basket was found, hadn't she? Well... if it was part of the test, he couldn't go back and ask now, but if it wasn't, he should.

He stood there in the tall grass, torn. What to do? A rustling behind him made up his mind. Spooked, he ran deeper into the tall grass until he came out the other side. He fell to his hindquarters, panting. What had that been? His Godmother? A monster? A snake? He shuddered. If it had been his godmother, he would have a lot of apologizing to do. He liked her lots, and not just because they were the same size at the moment. A monster might not have been so bad, if he met it where he could see it, and decide if it was friend or saw him as a feast. But a snake... He shuddered. He never told anyone that he was afraid of snakes. He didn't dare. He had to be strong to protect them, they had to know that he was strong to protect them. So he couldn't ever tell them. Anyway, everyone in the family kept saying that they shouldn't judge by race or species or appearance or anything like that, and snakes were a species.

Restez finally caught his breath and looked around. He was past the tall grass. He was... free. He was alone. It would be just as scary to go back through the grasses as to press on, so he should finish his bell quest. Satisfied with his choice, he headed out. He knew what would be the best sign, what the best thing he should bring back was. A snake skin. Proof that he had conquered his fear. But that involved first conquering his fear. So... he'd keep that in mind. That had been his plan, he was going to find a shed skin, grab it and run like all get out to get back. But that had been when he thought he'd have an adult with him. Now he was too scared to even think about it. If only he had some one with him, even a familiar, he'd feel so much safer. If only...

Wait a second! His herd took in outsiders who needed a safe home alla the time! If he found a guardian who wanted to come back with him and who would help protect his siblings, then he wouldn't have to travel alone, and everyone would be happy with what he found! But where to find one...?

He heard the rustling again and scrambled to his feet, ready to bolt of it was a snake.

The small woppltinger familiar grinned to herself as she saw the frightened little foal. It was almost too easy. Almost, but not quite. So it was still fun. "What are lamb staring at?" She asked as she emerged.

Res stared at the small odd creature with it's horns and flaming eyes. And those teeth, so big! And it had spoken to him. "Lamb?" he asked, confused, trying not to let his voice tremble.

The thing rolled it's flaming eyes and sat back on it's haunches. ",Goat, cow, heifer, Sheep," she said, starting to name animals.

She was still confusing, but that seemed like a fun game, so he tried. "Ewe?" he asked, then blinked. That would make her sentence: what are ewe staring at?

She crossed her furry little forepaws. At least, she seemed to be female. "Whatever," she muttered darkly. "The question stands."

"O...oh. Ewe. I mean... you," he said, staring at the strange little creature still.

"Yew?" she asked.

"Whatever," he said, agreeably.

She eyed him carefully.

"So..." Res started. He wanted to ask what was she, but changed his question to a more polite one just before it escaped his lips. His parents would be proud, right? "Who are you?"

"Metria," she said, "D. Metria. And you, little foal are my entertainment for the moment. Separated from your family, all alone, scared, jumpy."

"Why is that entertaining?" he asked, curious.

"I'm a demon wopltinger," She said with a smirk on her twitchy lips.

"Wopltinger?" he asked, confused. What was that?

"Ferret, dolphin, rabbit, bear," she began then scowled, "no, wait, I had the right word the first time! And why aren't you more scared?" she asked, seeming annoyed.

"Why should I be?" he asked, curiously.

"Me, standing here, looking all scary?" she prompted. "Eyes aflame, sharp horns, teeth ready to sink themselves into your tender flesh..."

"But you aren't going to hurt me," he said simply. "And we have scary looking family members in the herd already," he pointed out.

She thumped a foot irritated. "And what makes you so sure I won't, little tidbit?"

"Tidbit?"

"Snack sized, bite sized, nibble," she began.

"Morsel?" he supplied.

"Whatev- no... wait, that's still not right. "Morsel, portal, Chortle..."

"Mortal?" he asked, somewhat amused. She was fun!

"Whatever," she agreed crossly. "Why aren't you afraid of me? Why do you think you're so safe, I'm between you and your precious herd. You can't get to them without getting past me.

"Because, if you wanted to hurt me, you would have," he said. "You had lots of chances too. But you're talkin to me instead. So I think maybe you're just lonely." He found himself pleased with that logic. It sounded like something his mother would say, he thought.

"I'm bored not lonely," she said defensively.

He leaned back on his hind hooves. What would his parents do in this situation? Res grinned, the answer was easy. "Why don't you come home with me? There are lotsa us to play with! You don't every have to be lonely!"

"What makes you think I'd want something like that?" she asked, twitching a paw in irritation. "And I said bored, not lonely."

"I can just tell," he said, confidently.

"Well tell this," she snapped, turning to flip her tail up at him like a skunk before running back into the tall grass.

Res watched her go, then grinned a bit. No longer afraid of snakes in the grass, he headed back for his home. He might not have convinced her to come, but he had something that he thought was worth the bell. He had a new friend. And who knew, maybe one day she would come and join them, and be happy. That would be awesome. His sisters would love her!

How active are you in Soquili?: I have been kind of sluggish the past few months, but am getting back into it. I rp about 50 posts at minimum a month, even when sluggish, and closer to a few hundred when I am in my stride.

Why do you feel you should get a basket/be picked as co-owner for a foal?: Should is a hard word, I know why I would like one, however. They are amazing looking, and so are the parents. As to what might appeal to you about giving one to me, I love to RP. I have AIM and Yahoo for discussing/plotting/playing, and I have the Gaia app on my ipad, so that I can respond to PMs in a timely manner, even if my computer is out of reach.

Why do you want this basket?: As I said, above, the parents and baskets are all awesome looking. I would also really love to have an excuse to rp with some people I have not yet played with. My current soq rp folder is a chunk with one person, then a chunk with another, then a few very slow moving singles, then a chunk with another and a chunk with another... So mostly I find myself only posting with the same three or four people. So I would love to have more RP buddies that are interested in actually keeping up with a story line, and since you guys are making RP a desired element, then I know that you are likely to post, which makes me more eager to check regularly!
TL;DNR: Very pretty, and I want to rp.

Soquili's Name: Moll Amachi
Name Meaning:" minor; used in key signatures as, for example, a-Moll (A minor), b-Moll (B♭ minor), or h-Moll (B minor)" (both definitions gotten from wikipedia) I chose it because she is the youngest of a final set. So in some ways she will always be Moll.

Personality of Soquili: Moll takes the family tradition of acceptance a little too far. She is eager as a foal to see EVERYONE as a potential new friend. She does not yet understand the intrinsic qualities of good and evil, and having grown up with a lot of good Soqs that might seem to not be so good, she honestly believes EVERYONE she meets is a good person, even if it is deep down. After her bell ceremony, when she is an adult, she may have to learn though RP that this is not the case, but as a foal, I was thinking (unless we plot and come up with something better) that she would be very outgoing, friendly, cheerful, naive, and trusting. Sheltered but in a good way.

Prompt Responce
(I am making up an elder for the herd for this, I hope that is alright, I just want to give her some one to talk to at the beginning to set it up.

Moll bounced excitedly as she and Melisma headed to the boundary of their lands. She knew exactly what she wanted to bring home for her second bell. A new aunt or uncle. Some one new for the family to love and adore. Or even better, if she could find a lost basket that they could take care of, she wouldn't be the youngest any more! That would be the best thing ever, cause then she'd have built in new friend once the foal came out!

Once they were out on the open plains she smiled at her aunt Melisma. It didn't matter that the mare had no blood relation to Moll. Anyone who wasn't a sibling, parent, grand parent, god parent, or cousin was an Aunt or an uncle to her. They were all family, and she loved all of them. Even aunt Meli here who kept seeming to change her tune from moment to moment. She smiled brightly, pleased with the warm day. She had hardly noticed the reluctance in her parents to let her go. She knew they would, so why fret over it? She let them fuss, then when it was time, she had asked aunt Meli to join her.

"Okay! Wide world, here I come!" Moll announced to the air.

"Just where do you come?" Meli asked dryly, shaking her hair from her eyes. Bells jangled musically as Meli moved, sometimes sweet and high sometimes deep and clanking.

"I just meant that I am ready is all," Moll told her happily.

"Ready?" Meli asked, with an eye roll. "Do you even have any idea of what you want to find, or where you'll find it?"

"Yep!" Moll told her, all but bouncing on her hooves. "I'm going to bring home a new aunt or uncle!"

"You're going to WHAT?!" her aunt screeched. It was surprisingly unmusical.

"Find some one who would fit in at home who needs a place to go," Moll said with her heart as big and open as the world.

"Oh no you don't. How about something nice and simple? Like... an Angeni feather?" Her aunt was lecturing at the first then almost pleading.

"Nope! I'm finding a Soq!" Moll insisted.

"That is dangerous! No, absolutely not. We are going home, this instant."

"Why not?" Moll asked, not moving, she knew she could talk her aunt around. The breeze blew and her aunt was primed to change her mind.

"Because you could get hurt. Not all Soqs are nice!" Meli protested.

They argued a while more, where arguing meant Moll cheerfully telling her aunt what she was going to do and her aunt trying every tone she could think of to try and dissuade her wayward niece. Finally they came to a compromise. Meli would give her a list of things she had to avoid, but then would just be there for in case of trouble, and let her do her test herself. Their first dispute came over Meli's very first condition on the list. No evil Soqs.

"No one wears a sign saying they're evil," Moll pointed out too reasonably for her aunts taste. "How am I 'possedta know they're evil?"

"You know because you learn to get a feel for it, and you don't have that feel for it yet," Meli told her.

"How do you get that feel?" Moll asked, eager to learn.

"By encountering evil soqs," Meli said.

"Oh! so I need to talk to the evil soqs to learn?" Moll asked, wide eyed.

"NO! You stay away from evil Soqs!" Meli cried out, panicked.

"But how do I know who is evil? That can't be on the list," Moll protested.

So instead of evil, Meli put on the list skin walkers, Kalonas, and anyone who made Moll feel uncomfortable. Moll complained that it was racism, that they should talk to anyone of any race, but Meli won that bout, pointing out that she did not yet have the experience with those races and that she should be with her father or big brothers for that. So reluctantly Moll agreed no Walkers or 'Lonas for her bell test. Then her aunt added no males to the list. The last thing they needed was Moll to come back with a mate. No way. The continued to argue, ruling out as well anyone who carried obvious weapons, who threatened to hurt or kill either of them, and anyone who was not interested in being dragged back.

Agreement in hoof, they headed off, but before long Moll found herself very much alone. It had begun to get dark and Meli had said something about them looking for a cave to hole up in, but when Moll looked for her, she was gone.

For a moment, fear gripped Moll... but it was the first fear she had ever felt in her life, and she didn't know how to handle it, so she didn't fixate on it and so it went away quickly. Her aunt would find her when she was ready, Moll knew. Someone always did. So she headed further along to see if they could find anyone.

Moll realized that she had been daydreaming when she almost walked into what looked like a still lake floating before her. It was a mirror, and she had never seen one like this, or at all maybe. When she looked up to see her reflection, all pretty and blue, she saw some one else with her. The mare over her shoulder in the reflection was pale with long black hair that almost curled. The other had a red crescent moon on her side, and red liquid coming down her sides. Moll felt that fear again for just a moment, feeling the heat of the other, but she pushed it away. This time it took effort, but she did it. This was what she had wanted, right? Still...

"My child," Mary said in her sing song croon. It was so nice to find another of her children again after so long. It was time to help this one.

Moll brightened. See, this mare wasn't so scary, she was just like family already. "Hi, I am Moll, who are you?" she asked.

"I am the Dark Goddess, Mary," the other said, the mirror swinging to come to a rest nearby so that they could move to see each other more easily.

"WOW!" Moll said, shifting a bit. "I've never met a goddess before!"

"You do not fear me, child?" Mary asked. Hd she found another disciple?

"Nope!" Moll said cheerfully. "Do you wanna come home with me?" she asked. "Aunt Meli said I can only take some on who fits her list. So, lesse... you're female, right? Right Goddess means female, I think. Okay, so you're a girl, and you're not a Kalona are you?" she asked, then answered herself yet again before pushing on, not giving Mary a chance to speak. "Nope, no wings. And not a Skin either cause no skin. So if you wanna come, then you fit the list and I can bring you home." Mol beamed proudly at the Goddess, pleased with herself. She didn't know what kid of Soq a Goddess was, but she was sure her momma would know.

"I am here to help you with the steps needed to become a strong adult," Mary said with the sound of some one trying to regain her composure. It was a sound Moll heard a lot when she got on a roll.

"Exactly!" Moll said cheerfully. "So you come home and I get my bell and then I'm an adult and big like mommy. Poof! Like magic!"

"Actually, I have a ritual that you must follow. We can talk once you have finished it about who goes with whom. Alright?" Mary said, regaining her verbal footing. Did she really want THIS for a disciple?

"Alright! What do I have to do?" She asked, cheerfully.

Mary gave a dark satisfied smile and flicked her tail. Her familiar came racing from the brush and began digging a shallow grave. "When Taphos finishes digging, you will climb inside. I will leave you a rope that is attached to a bell out here, then we bury you. When you feel stronger, pull the rope to ring the bell and we shall get you out, and your potential will be expanded."

"Sounds fun!" Moll said happily. She liked being buried up to her neck by familiars whenever they went to the beach. This would be just like that. This Goddess Mary was really like part of the family already!

Taphos finished the grave. Mary bared her teeth at the foal. "In you go," she told her.

Moll trustingly climbed into the grave and lay herself down. Oddly, it was high enough that her head didn't come over the top. Oh well, maybe this was a new way to play. She felt the dirt being kicked and shoveled onto her by hooves and clawed hands. She was almost fully covered when she realized something. The bell rope! "WAIT!" she cried out, but all she got for her trouble was a mouthful of soil. Now she began to feel afraid. Especially as she couldn't get her mouth clear and her face was fully under the dirt. Mary had made a mistake, but she couldn't seem to get anyone's attention, no matter how much she kicked. Darkness pressed wound her. She tried to breathe through her nose, but dirt clogged it. She was beginning to feel light headed. But Mary would realize the mistake soon. She'd be okay. Any second now. Any se....

Moll woke up on the ground, looking up through bleary eyes at her mother. Behind her parents was aunt Meli, covered in dirt and looking wounded and afraid. Why was she afraid? It was hard to think, her head was still muzzy and she just wanted to go back to sleep. But there was one thing she had to know... "Did I get my bell?" she asked her mom. The bell was important, they forgot the bell, no it was a different bell.... if her family ever replied, she had missed it, falling into a deep healing sleep.

Example(s) of RP: To Crush A Crush - Pachu'a example

Shadows and darkness, Shade and light. Zyzy, as she calld herself when she was feeling playful, debated the day. What to do, what to do? She could wake momma up in some startling way, but that got old after a while. She could splash about in the stream to try and see if she could make a new section of rapids by kicking at the silty banks and driving the river rocks into the walls, but last time she did that, she accidentally stepped on a frog. It took her a week to get the thing strong enough to hop away. She wanted to have some fun getting into a bit of mischief, not kill anything. Well there was always dad to pester... except her siblings had him all sewn up. Bored, bored, bored. She kicked up a clump of grass and kicked a rock into a tree. Leaves rained down on her, making her laugh, and she dance about as they caught the air and swirled around her. But it didn't last too long, because they soon all were on the ground. Now what?

She grinned suddenly. Oh, she knew what! She could bother grandma! That could be fun! Mind made up, she trooped off to find a nice squishy slug. No better way to wake some one up, or to let them know you snuck up on them then a squishy slug in the tail. Of course that meant carrying it in her mouth, but it was worth it... Ohhhhh Graaaaaandma......

Why do you want this basket?: It is very pretty, and I would love having the chance to rp with you.

Prompt 2:Wandering around one day, you come across your great uncle, Remiel, who decides to delight himself with a little conversation. Leaning close, he riddles a question to you.

Light in the clouds like father, or sleepy headed like mom. Are you the kind who finds themself tired suddenly like she is, or always wondering and worried like your father? How does this make you feel? I don't expect a huge explanation. . . you are just a child.

How do you respond?

Nahmaa yawned a bit and gave her uncle a wide eyed look. "I wanna answer," she told him, looking down as if shy. "But I'm so hungry, and I can't reach the good apples because I'm so small and little. Could you please get me one, before we talk?" she asked, watching to see if he would do it. She really didn't have any need to make him do things for her, but what she did need was practice. She had watched adult mares get stallions to do what they wanted, and she wanted to try that. If he got the apple or not, she'd answer anyway, moving her body to stretch the shoulders of her forelegs. "It makes me feel like momma and daddy both have the right of it. It's too much work to go out and about and do as much as daddy does, so momma is right, and worrying and stressing will just make me unhappy. Better to sleep. But sleeping means you miss everything. So I wanna be both. Sleepy and lazy but I dun wanna hafta do to much and I dun wanna hafta miss everythin with my eyes always closed. Makes me feel like momma's little girl and daddy's little princess. I just wish...the stream wasn't so terribly far away..."

Soquili's Name: Adagia Amachi
Name Meaning: Adagio (Italian: slow) is an indication of tempo and is sometimes used to describe a slow movement, even when the indication of speed at the start of the movement may be different. (I changed the o to an a at the end to be more feminine sounding.)

Personality of Soquili: Adagia is very steady, taking time to sort out situations before acting. Even though she's the youngest of her siblings, she still feels very protective over them. Even though she takes her time about what the best course of action may be, this by no means indicates a slow mind - on the contrary she's very quick witted. Later in life I'm sure she'll grow to have strong family values and be something of a rock for everyone around her.

Prompt Responce

00000Adagia hadn't much liked the idea of coming out into the woods to search for something that was unknown. Her parents told her that she would know what it was when she found it, but where was she to look? Well I guess that's the point after all, she thought to herself. To grow more independent. At least she wasn't alone though. She had never been to this part of the forest before and didn't want to get lost. She looked over at her cheerful companion, Ikinya, keeping an eye on her but not giving her any hints as to what she was supposed to do. Mostly she was just there to make sure she didn't get into serious trouble. Well, that was alright. She was smart enough to figure it out on his own. She just needed to pick a direction and see if she could find some sort of clue or indication that she was heading in the right direction. Well, the herd grounds are south... since I'm supposed to be finding something out here, there's a good chance it will be in the opposite direction. North it is! She headed that way, looking behind herself briefly to make sure Ikinya was following.
00000After about a half hour of walking, there was still no indication that she was getting anywhere useful. Not even a hint of progress. She was starting to get frustrated, and turned to his protector of sorts to ask if she was at least headed in the right direction. Her mouth was open around the question she had formed in her mind, but there was no one to ask it to. Where did she go? She thought Ikinya had been right behind her the whole time, but her focus had been on scanning the woods for a smell, or something that looked out of place. She froze in panic for a moment, scared that she might be out in these woods alone and lost. "Ikinya?" She called, thinking she might have just stopped somewhere nearby. When there was no answer, she called as loud as she could, fear evident in her voice, "Ikinya!!" She paused for several moments, straining her ears for any indication that the little mare was somewhere close by. Nothing. What if she's hurt? She thought, tears welling up in her eyes. She was hardly ever emotional like this, and she chastised herself for getting so worked up. Don't be silly, she scolded herself. She's probably fine. She probably just heard some rare bird and wanted to study it or something. She drew in a deep breath, and let it out slowly. This was not a time to panic. She needed to find Ikinya. More than likely she was fine - she knew how to take care of herself. But there was a small chance that she could be hurt. She just needed to find her.
00000Tracks! She had the epiphany after taking some time to consider the situation. Of course she could find her by tracing back the way they had come! There was no need for worry at all. It was such a simple solution, she wondered why she had not thought of it sooner and had panicked at first. Smiling now, she looked down at the ground, looking for her own disturbances of the ground. She found her own path right away, and made her way back from where she came. She made her way slowly, not wanting to miss where the mare had separated from her. The ground was covered with small brush and leaves - it was difficult to pick up the path sometimes. A few times she had to backtrack after thinking she was going in the right direction only to find she had been on the path of a squirrel or some other forest creature. Every so often she would call out Ikinya's name, hoping she was close enough for the mare to hear her. No such luck.
00000It was getting later in the day, and all hopes of finding what she had been sent out here to find were dashed. The important thing is finding Ikinya, she told herself sternly. She could earn her second bell another time. Her throat was sore from calling for his companion, and the heat of the day was making her thirsty. She felt bad about wanting to take a break from the search, but she wouldn't be able to help Ikinya if she passed out from heat stroke. She scented water close by and headed in that direction, making sure to mark a clear path from the way she came. It didn't take her long to reach the little pool of water in a small clearing, and she rushed forward to quench her thirst. She put her whole body in the water after she had her fill, cooling herself and getting off the dirt and sweat. Scanning the area, she realized how beautiful it was here. She wished she could stay for a little while longer, but she was on a mission. She could always come back to it later. Just as she was about to pull herself out of the water, she heard a teasing voice; "Well, I see that you're not very worried! Taking a bath when you're supposed to be looking for your guide!"
00000"Ikinya!" She hurried out of the water, relief flooding him. "You're alright!!" She nuzzled the now laughing mare, happy that she had finally found her. "Where were you? You were behind me one minute, and then you were gone! I was so worried!"
00000The mare laughed again. "You did wonderfully Adagia, I expected nothing less from you."
00000"What do you mean?" She was confused now. She hadn't made any progress finding the mysterious item. What had she done well?
00000"Why, earning your second bell of course! You passed the test! I knew you could do it." Ikinya said affectionately.
00000Then everything was explained to the young Adagia. It had been a test, to see what her reactions would be. How long it would take her to realize that her guide was missing, and what she would do about it. Not knowing it at the time, her mentor had only been gone for a couple of minutes before she had noticed. Ikinya explained this as a sort of sense that you don't even know you possess. She hadn't panicked for long; (no one had expected her to since she was so level headed) and she had found a solution for finding the lost mare. She was also praised for taking a break when she did - she wouldn't have been much help to anyone if she had collapsed. Adagia swelled with pride. She had done everything right! She smiled as she thought about how proud her parents would be of her. "Thank you Ikinya," she grinned at the mare. "I think it's time we go home now." Ikinya nodded in agreement and led the way.

Example(s) of RP: At my peak, Slowly getting back into RP after a break, The ball is rolling faster

How active are you in Soquili?: I pop into the thread from time to time, (probably once every couple days to at least say hello,) and participate in all of the events that I can. More recently I have been trying to find plots for all of my Soquili and developing their charcters more fully. You could probably take a look at my "most recent posts" to get a better idea 3nodding

Why do you feel you should get a basket/be picked as co-owner for a foal?: Soquili is my favorite shop on Gaia. I love seeing all of the different characters develop, grow up and make their families bigger. While I'm probably not the best at RP, I do feel that I'm a strong writer. I'm also easy to get along with and very open to ideas. I know you guys have certain expectations for the baskets and I'm ready to meet them.

Why do you want this basket?: I want to be involved in a stronger plot. While I'm trying to get plots for my own Soquili, it will be nice to have a Soquili that already has so much background information and an interesting family. I like the idea of being so close knit, and it will give me a chance to make more friends <3 (Also, the Soquili are absolutely gorgeous!)

Soquili's Name: Ballos Amachi
Name Meaning: Greek Folk Dance

Personality of Soquili: A dreamer, he’s easily distracted and often imagines things that might not be there.

Prompt Responce
Ballos realized the exact moment he was lost. It was right when he noticed his guardian, Ikinya, had disappeared. A lesser soquili might have tried to convince himself that the guardian had wandered off, but Ballos knew himself well enough to realize he had been the one to do the wandering. He had caught sight of a pretty cloud that was tinted just the right shade of gray to make it almost silver, and had watched it drift lazily across the sky. No doubt that had been when they had been separated, and now he was alone…

Something scurried in the bushes to his left, and Ballos nearly leapt straight up into the trees, yelping bravely. A second later, a chipmunk skittered out from under the leaves and paused to give him a funny look. For a moment, chipmunk and soquili just stared at one another before the small rodent snorted at him and continued on his way.

Ballos twitched.

Well.

That was…. Never going to be spoken about. Ever. He could almost hear his brothers and sisters giggling at him for overreacting because of a chipmunk. A chipmunk! Yeah, that so didn’t happen. He nodded to himself, gradually slowing his breathing and heart rate. Everything was fine. Nothing was out to get him. He’d just keep walking and eventually Ikinya would find him again. Yep. That was how it would go.

“Well, ‘ello there,” a deep, accented voice purred.

“GYAH!” Ballos DID leap up into a tree this time, and smacked his head on a low hanging branch. For a moment, stars and little blue birds clouded his vision, going round and round in circles. He shook his head quickly to try and get rid of the dazed vision. Of course, that didn’t help with his pounding headache.

“Eh… yeh okay t’ere, friend?” the voice went on. Concerned that he was losing his mind already to loneliness and fear, he looked around quickly, trying to find the source of the voice.

“Who’s there?” he demanded, trying to sound as brave as he wasn’t, and locking his legs so his knees wouldn’t quake so much. He should have listened to his parents and stayed home. Who really needed two bells, anyway? It was a silly tradition that cost lives!

Okay… well… so he’d never really heard of any incidents like that… but still! He’d be the first! He could see the rumors now! Poor Ballos never stood a chance. The only one of the herd to ever disappear on his First Leap. Ugh. How humiliating…

“Down ‘ere,” came the amused voice again. Ballos looked down to see a strange little creature. It was
a small, white soquili, with some kind of read diamond on his back and a black pouch hooked to his horn.

“What are… er… who are you?” Ballos asked, quickly correcting his questions as his parents voices chided him for being rude in his head.

“Paelor’s t’e name,” the small soquili answered with a smirk. Ballos struggled to follow the strange accent. “Yeh look a bit lost t’ere, friend. Were yeh goin’ anyw’ere in particular?”

“Ah… I’m on my First Leap,” Ballos answered proudly. For a moment, Paelor just stared at him blankly. It occurred to the young stallion that this was likely to be a tradition that wasn’t common outside his herd, so he quickly corrected, “Er, yes, I’m lost.”

“Ah, well t’en,” Paelor nodded as if this answered a question of his. “Were yeh travelin’ alone, or are you t’e one that little mare was callin’ for?”

“Little mare?” Ballos repeated with a frown, trying to figure out who he was talking about. After a moment, Ikinya flashed through his mind. His guardian! “Ah, yes! That would be my godmother! You saw her?”

“Newp,” Paelor chirped, cheerfully. “Didn’t see a ‘air on ‘er. But s’e was over t’ere,” he nodded in the direction he’d come from.

Relieved and eager to return to his guardian’s side and no longer be alone, Ballos rushed in that direction… only to receive his second pain of the day in the form of a firy blaze shooting from his hoof. He yelped and hopped around for a moment before he was able to shake the brightly colored stone he had stepped on loose.

With a cackle, Paelor retrieved his spark and dropped it back in his bag. “Sorry, friend, but yeh s’ould see yer face. Priceless!” the imp chuckled. “Bit o’ advice for yeh, if yer gonna keep traveling. Watc’ w’ere yer goin’. Won’t c’ange w’at’s ‘appenin’, but mehbe yeh’ll be able ta save yerself some ‘eadac’es, eh?”

“Um… thank you,” Ballos mumbled before fleeing once again, searching for his guardian. He tried to puzzle through that thick accent again to figure out what the small soquili had been trying to tell him. Something about advice, that was certain.

It was about the same time he found Ikenya that he finally succeeded in deciphering the message and with a wince, realized the stranger had probably been right. It was a good piece of advice, and he had every intention of following it, especially in light of what had happened.

From now on, he most certainly was going to watch where he was going.

Soquili's Name: Allemande Amachi
Name Meaning: An instrumental dance

Personality of Soquili: Adventuresome, though she's prone to moments of self doubt. She's strong, when given a chance.

Prompt Responce
Cuauhcoatl would have been a wonderful choice for a guardian for young Allemande. If she had managed to keep up with him. But one thing had led to another and here she was, pretty much alone, in a strange place.

All of her parents’ warnings ran through her mind as she picked her way over clumps of grass and twisted tree roots that were just waiting to trip her up. Her fear spiked as she realized she was alone. There was no family here for her to talk to, no one to poke fun at the fact that she’d gotten lost. No one to tease her about being afraid in the dark.

For the first time, Allemande realized just how large her family was, and how protected she had always been, and for a second, just a second, she wished she had listened to her parents and stayed home. This moment came when she was at the base of a large oak tree and, with a small whimper, she sat hard in a small hallow.

Right onto a sharp acorn. With a soft yelp, she bounced up and narrowly missed whacking her head on the tree itself.

“Stupid little acorn!” she growled, getting ready to kick the offending object. But she paused when she realized that there was something green peeking out from it. She leaned closer to find out what exactly it was and was startled to find a tiny leaf emerging from the acorn itself. The leaf was a little squashed thanks to her accidently sitting on it, but otherwise it looked unharmed.

“Huh, you’re trying to grow, too?” she murmured, not really expecting an answer but suddenly feeling the need to hear something other than the silence of the forest. She nudged the acorn lightly, turning it so that the leaf was facing up rather than on the ground. It hadn’t grown enough to sprout roots, so she could move it fairly easily.

“Not gonna get very big here,” the young mare murmured, looking up at the large tree that must have spawned the little acorn. “That tree there is gonna eat up all your light. You should have gone further, I think. On the other hand, I’ll be it was sheltering you from all the wind and rain and nasty weather. But,” she took on a lecturing tone, “if you don’t learn to stand on your own power, you’ll never get anywhere. How can you grow to be a big strong tree if you’re always cowering in the shadows of others?”

Silence fell again as her words sank into her own mind. She was right. Like this acorn, she was running the risk of letting her ties to her family smother her and leave her wilting in the shadows. Not that she didn’t love her family dearly, or that she wanted to cut all ties with them, but she had to learn to break out on her own once in awhile.

“How’s about we learn together, huh?” she asked the acorn, picking it up gently. She was careful of the young green that was struggling to grow out of the small shell. She would help the seed grow, she decided. And as it grew stronger, so would she.

Soquili's Name: Vivace Amachi
Name Meaning: Direction to performer to play a composition in a brisk, lively, and spirited manner.

Personality of Soquili: Despite his namesake, a lively and spirited piece of music, Vivace is quiet, staid and oftentimes quite serious. He takes his position as being the eldest son of this 'chorus' very, very seriously. Vivace is forever watching after his younger siblings and takes full responsibility if any of them fall into trouble while under his watchful eye. It is hard for Vivace not to feel as if he is in control of any situation he might be placed in. This makes Vivace an oftentimes boring fellow as he's unwilling to take chances or risks that would put him in a position of losing control. Usually it's his siblings that get him to break free of his hesitance, but only because he's worried that something might happen to them if he isn't there.

Prompt Responce This was not how Vivace had expected this afternoon to go. No, he'd not been expecting to be separated from his Guardian, and he certainly hadn't expected not to be able to find the older horse. It wasn't that Vivace was frightened -- no, he was hardly the sort to be running around willy nilly in some sort of frenetic panic. He wouldn't lie and say he was the fearless sort. There was a little bit of fright chilling his heart. After all, this was the first time he'd ever been alone and during his First Leap of all things!

However, Vivace would not let the fear take control. No, no. Vivace would not give up control to such an unpredictable emotion. Even at this tender age it was hard for the colt to relinquish control. It was how he kept his wits about him in situations like this.

With a harsh sigh, Vivace turned his train of thought from the lost Guardian to the more important task at hand. Vivace had to return home with a bauble of sorts in order to obtain his second bell, and so he would -- with or without his Guardian. He knew the vaguest direction to head in order to find home (he'd had to lead his lost younger siblings home many a time) and so that wasn't worrisome to the youth. Not even the thought of a rogue kalona or skinwalker frightened the boy. No, he would deal with each of those issues if they came to pass, but for right now at this moment in time he had a duty to fufill. He would find his bauble and then find his Guardian, and that would be that.

Flicking his tail, Vivace glanced around. His ears were perked as he glanced through the tall grass in which he walked. Maybe a rock or some sort of flower would suffice? Vivace exhaled indecisively, but the sound was cut off when a shrill noise caught his attention. It sounded like someone was hurt, and before he could even register what the best plan of action would be, Vivace moved towards the sound.

It didn't take long for the foal to step into a small clearing, his gaze immediately going to a small maple tree shouldering the weight of a horse. Not just any horse -- Vivace's Guardian -- and Vivace immediately moved into action. The small sapling threatened to give way beneath the Soquili's weight, and Vivace's Guardian seemed to be in pain. She was gingerly holding up her leg, eyes wild as she struggled with the pain of her swollen knee. She did not see Vivace until he was upon her and before she could even speak the colt was a flurry of action, taking apt control of the situation.

"Did you fall?" Without waiting for a response Vivace gestured at her knee. "Your knee, it looks bad. Brace your weight on me and we'll make our way back home unless it gets too dark out and we can sleep somewhere for a few hours before moving again." Deftly Vivace moved to assist his Guardian as best he could. It was a strange sight, to be certain, a young colt bearing the weight of his wounded herdmember. They were family perhaps not by blood but by oath, and Vivace wouldn't leave the young mare behind.

Hours toiled on but finally they caught sight of the encampment the herd called home. It dawned on Vivace that he hadn't found something to bring back home with him, and that frustrated the colt. That frustration was soothed soon enough by the soft voice of his Guardian informing everyone about what had happened and how Vivace had saved her. They called him a hero, they thanked him and they congratulated him on a job well done. The pride mirrored in the eyes of his parents brought a rare smile to his face.

Perhaps he had earned his bell after all.

Do you RP?: Yes. There are times I need more than one poke when it's my turn to reply, but I am -usually- pretty swift in my replies. Usually.

Example(s) of RP: There are at least 100 RP links here.

How active are you in Soquili?: I am probably not as active as I should be in the main thread. I have plots for all of my Soquili (a mighty herd of 5) with a few friends of mine. I love to heavily plot my Soquili!

Why do you feel you should get a basket/be picked as co-owner for a foal?: I am always open to RP and plot with anyone. I am on Gaia daily and while I am not an active person in the thread, per se, I am always in the guilds, ooh-ing and ahh-ing over various Soquili drop-offs, and I enjoy taking place in the various events that Soquili holds. :3

Why do you want this basket?: The Amachi family is one of my favorites -- I have only one other (Guillermo's line). I love that the family has stuck together for the most part, and when I first saw this contest for the final chorus (back before it even opened) I just knew that I had to try for a chance at an Amachi foal.

Soquili's Name: Enoch
Name Meaning: teach ( an ancestor of the biblical Noah - I've also always effing loved this name. <3 )

Personality of Soquili: ( This is all future goals and personality traits. They won't be well reflected when she'd younger. )Intellectually, she would be strong willed and able to defend herself. Curious, and happy to discuss her views, but never content to give in simply to make things easier if she believes the person she is discussing with is making bad points. She is not afraid of being wrong, and will correct herself if she finds or thinks of a new point that contradicts a position she previously held. She would hold very few friends, but those who did get close to her would find her to be a very warm, if uncompromising, mare.

Her outward appearance is quite feminine. She makes a conscious effort to move and behave in a way that she considered 'beautiful' and becomes quite distressed if anyone catches her tripping up or missing a queue.

If her story develops in a way that would compliment it she may become troubled by a form of sleep paralysis. Perhaps visited by a vision of a little imp, silent but forever grinning.
Prompt Responce
Quote:
Prompt 2:Wandering around one day, you come across your great uncle, Remiel, who decides to delight himself with a little conversation. Leaning close, he riddles a question to you.

Light in the clouds like father, or sleepy headed like mom. Are you the kind who finds themself tired suddenly like she is, or always wondering and worried like your father? How does this make you feel? I don't expect a huge explanation. . . you are just a child.

How do you respond?

Enoch's little nose wrinkled and she looked away. She'd always thought her uncle's appearance was frighting. Now he was so close that she could feel his breath on her cheek. It was difficult to contemplate standing still for a few moments more much less contemplating her eventual destiny.

She took a wobbly step backwards, "Must I be merely like one, or the other?" she felt as though her answer was a bit of a cop out. Anything to get away from someone who made her so nervous. "I love them with all of my heart, but does that mean I must be their shadow?"

Her knees buckled and she nearly fell but caught herself as she took another step back, "I would choose neither, but accept either if it comes to pass."

She looked up at him, hoping her answer would be acquitted and she would be allowed to leave.

Why do you want this basket?: I am not a frequent or skilled RPer, and I rarely if ever post in the main thread. But I've been wanting, for some time, a young lady to serve as an intellectual rival for Euthyphro who can send him off with his tail between his legs to think over his position, and (ultimately) help him on his way to elder-hood. If either of them where to ever mate it wouldn't be to each other. She would bring, and defend, some more supernatural and/or spiritual ideas. I would that girl to belong to me so I can better plot out their meetings and discussions... and because if someone disappeared or stopped RPing such an important character in this plot I'd be heartbroken.
I'm aware that I make it sound as if her whole life would be centered around him but that's not the case. I adore my antagonist characters and they get just as much love as ( if not more than ) my protagonists do. x3

Soquili's Name: Arkona
Name Meaning: No real meaning, just the name of a few places that sounds pretty ^_^

Personality of Soquili: Very independent with a fear of losing herself. This fear can sometimes make her predictable and easily manipulated, but just as easily can swing her the other way as well.

Arkona sat and watched the clouds for a moment until the sounds of her rambunctious siblings faded away into nothingness. Silence reigned for a few seconds before she blinked and realized that she was alone. Oh, sure, mother was there, but anyone could tell the mare had fallen asleep. Again.

Arkona sighed as she studied her mother. She did love the one who gave her life, a great deal actually, but the constant naps were a little annoying. Really! How could anyone just conk out like that without warning? Many had tried to explain Josephine’s condition to young Arkona but she simply couldn’t grasp it. She was far too active to understand the random naps her mother took.

With a soft mumble, Arkona pushed herself to her feet and wandered off to find something to do. Doubtlessly, her siblings would be back, with her poor, sole brother being razzed by his sisters. He was certainly a favorite target of Arkona’s but she didn’t like picking on him when the others were as well. It made her feel too much a part of a crowd.

And Arkona HATED being part of a crowd. Having so many siblings was nice, but sometimes she felt like she was being swept away in a sea and she couldn’t hold on to herself. She was afraid of being like someone else, of caving and being one of the masses. She refused.

She turned a corner in the path she was wandering down and almost walked head first into her uncle. For a moment they just stared at one another, both wondering who should speak first. Then the older stallion grinned and leaned down.

“Light in the clouds like father, or sleepy headed like mom. Are you the kind who finds themself tired suddenly like she is, or always wondering and worried like your father? How does this make you feel? I don't expect a huge explanation. . . you are just a child,” he said.

Arkona bristled at the comment about her being just a child. She wasn’t just a child! And she wasn’t a worry wart like her father! She WASN’T! She was nothing like either of her parents, because that would mean that she wasn’t like herself!

That thought caused her to stop and frown. Who was she if she wasn’t a compilation of her parents? After all, she did like some of the things her father did, and she enjoyed some of the activities her mother did. Was that being like her parents, or was that common ground she shared with them? Was it bad to have common ground? Did that make her any less of who she was, or was that just part of who she was?

It was all confusing, and she knew she’d have to think harder about it, but the answer to her uncle’s question was clear and it was one she gave with a great deal of confidence.

“I’m like myself, no one else,” she informed him with her head high.

Now if only she could figure out who that was.

Soquili's Name: Naya'il
Name Meaning: angel of testing.

Personality of Soquili: Always pushing boundaries, she’s constantly questioning and nudging.

Naya’il tip toed away from her mother, careful not to wake her. Not that the filly thought her mother would wake up and stop her, but one never knew. This was a rare opportunity. Usually Naya’il was surrounded by people, constantly pushing and prodding and always having ideas of things to do.

For the first time in the filly’s memory, she was alone to do what she wanted! It was a liberating feeling. Once she felt she was safely away from her mother, she ran and leaped and jumped and yelled to her heart’s content.

And after five minutes, she became utterly bored with the whole experiment. She went in search of something else and came across a stream, which she happily splashed in, until that, too, became boring, which was shocking since the filly usually loved splashing around in water.

“What’s wrong with me?” Naya’il pouted. Silence answered her and she glared at a nearby tree for a lack of anything else to scowl at. No one answered because no one was there.

And that, she realized, was her answer. She was so used to having her siblings around her that she always had someone to talk to, someone to play with. Someone to keep things interesting. Someone to provoke or to be provoked by. Someone to make things fun. This whole “being alone” thing was boring!

With a grumble, the filly set off to find one of her siblings, deciding that this had been an interesting experience and that she had learned quite a bit. That didn’t mean she was going to repeat it again. What fun was there in pushing buttons when there were no buttons to push?

Why do you want this basket?: I love developing new characters and watching them grow and evolve. The family you have seems like such an awesome base for an equally awesome personality and I’d love to play with the possibilities.
