An Invite
Participants: Sahra, Mew

Dragging herself down the stairs, Sahra had just woken up. It was early in the morning, well, early enough. The sun was high in the sky outside the living room windows as she trudged along on her way towards the kitchen. Re had been far to lazy to wake, so, she was on her own this morning. Or so she thought? "Mi'orn'n." Mew said contently at the stove side, tail twisting about.

"Urg...Ma?" The cheetah stared at the woman in a questionable fashion, wondering what she was doing up, and why she was cooking and Yin was not? "What're you doing?" She asked tiredly, rubbing sleep away from her eyes with one fist.

"Oh nothing, just felt like cooking something, I guess, like the good 'ole days." It had been so long since she had been home in her own lands, her own world. Mew certainly felt a longing to return but knew no way. And besides, she couldn't take her children away from their lives just to get her own back.

"Oh, you mean at home, huh? You'll have to tell me more sometime, but..."Taking a big whiff of the air, Sahra grinned, what ever was on the stove, sure smelled great! "What're you making, Ma? Smells great!" Leaning forward the girl caught a glimpse of a dish that seemed to contain blooded meat mixed with various herbs and fruits from a forest setting. "Oh wow, mmm..."

"Sahzy, you can have some, it's why I made it." She proclaimed, tossing around the ingredients in the pan with a jerk of the handle, "Its called el'haro; an earth dish, originally made by the Lerethan Tribe thousands of years ago."

Their foods were often categorized by elements, and this dish being all natural, of plants and meat and lightly cooked, it was of earth.

"Oh, sounds good, Ma." The cheetah sat herself down at their dining table, eyeing her mothers every movement.

"Stop watching me like a hungered hawk, you're not starving, Sahzy. Oh, and by the way, something came concerning you in the mail." Picking up a stack of mail she had fetched only a half hour before with Aja, Mew sorted through a few various letters, reminders, bills, advertisements, and everything in between. She would never read mail that belonged to her children, even if it was addressed to her, it was an invasion to their rights and privacy, in her opinion.

Pulling one sealed envelope from a stack of opened, the woman handed the letter over to the cheetah. "Thanks Ma." Sah purred cheerfully, gashing open the side of the envelope. "Well let's see what this is all about." Sah hadn't even thought to look at the marked address, but rather opened it to find a letter about a...sleepover? And it was from "Mr. Raja?" That was odd, she hadn't seen the woman in a long while, why was she inviting her to such a gathering, and Re too?

Quote:
Dear Mew Kazuma,

Hello, this is one of your fellow D.Corp parents. My name is Raja, Keanu's mother. You may not have met him before, but I would still like to extend this invitation to you. Keanu has insisted on having a part for all of the children with their dragons at this moment, and so you have been invited to come. We'd like it if you would bring your dragon, as well as the child at 2pm, next Saturday. I, as well as my friend Naito, will be watching the children. They may stay until 5pm on Sunday. My adress is (Adress here), and my number is (number). Feel free to call me if you have any questions, or concerns. I'd love to see you there, and you may of course stay for a while if you are worried about my ability to watch the children, though I'd like to let them have fun. Food, drinks, and snacks will be provided. As well as blankets, and a pillow should your child need them. So feel free to just bring your child, pajamas, a change of clothes, and any hygeine products you'd need.

I hope to see you next Saturday.
Sincerely,
Raja

"Well?" Mew asked in a neutral tone, stirring the bits and pieces in the frying pan.

"It's from a Mum of one of my friends, saying something about a sleepover, I guess." The cheetah handed the letter back to her mother, waiting for an answer. She wanted to go, but wasn't to entirely sure if she would be aloud to or not, since the only person she had ever stayed with was Gabby, but she was her sister!

"You better make sure to pack up everything that you need, I and everyone else in the household will be gone that night." Mew knew she wanted to go, so, she didn't even need to ask. Wagging her tail happily to and fro, the canine-feline like woman swayed back and forth as she put all of her remaining attention into her masterpiece.

"Yes! Awesome, thanks Ma!" A great day today was already, a get together to look forward to, and a wonderful breakfast!

On A High Note
Participants: Sahra, Adonai, Mew

"Not more, please not more Adonai! I'm so sick and tired of this stupid piano playing. It's SO boring." Pounding her elbows down onto the keys, making a very loud, wretched noise, Sahra leaned her head against the her plams. She didn't think there was anything more wretched than piano lessons; she liked battle training, and art practice, and even literature practice was okay, but not piano. She'd rather play the oboe! What ever that was.

"NO SAHRA." A stern, blonde headed woman rose from the dark shadows of the basement corner, making her way slowly over to the cheetah's side with a glare planted firmly about her face. "Now continue on this symphony, I want to hear the soft melodies and the wonderful harmonies~" Plopping down on the nearest chair, she began to sway, replaying the song through her mind.

"NO Adonai, I am not your personal musician. I've been playing for two hours! I think that's long enough!!" Groaning, a look of disgust came to her face; her teacher was selfish and rude. Pawing bright orange hair of her face, she wanted nothing more than for some random person to come running down the stairs and save her from this horrible fate; piano playing.

Padding softly down the stairway, Mew had heard the music cease, and the loud blunt sound of keys being rammed on. Which obviously meant something wasn't quite right. "What's going on?" The leopard asked softly, her long and foofy tail swinging about in an amused fashion. Mesa, or Adonai rather, had done this very same thing to her many, many years ago, when she herself was taking lessons. It may have been a long time since then, but she knew how it felt, and the feeling wasn't so grand.

"Um, Mesa," The leopard began, "I think that's enough for today. I'd like to take Sahzy into my own hands now, if you don't mind." Wandering to her daughter’s side, she looked down upon the now very grateful cheetah, grinning, she yanked on her shirt. "Let's head off and go work on some whip work, huh? You really need it." That was a severe understatement. The young girl had near randomly decided that she wanted to work with a whip, of all things, and wasn't very good with it. What so ever. Mew almost wished she had chosen something else. Anything.

"Oh yeah? Pfft, at least I'm concentrating on one weapon." With a wicked smile forming on her face, the feline rose to her feet. Quickly joining her mother, the woman grabbed a hold of her daughters arm and they both quickly raced up the stairs and out the front door before Adonai even had a chance to think.

"Buh-but, wait, HEY." But by that time, they of course, where long gone. "Those two are such a drag." She complained effortlessly, "Mother like daughter, always running off when they could be improving and refining their wonderful skills. It's a shame really." Adonai sighed, and reached over to press one pale finger to a low-key. Humming a soft tune to herself, she rose and shifted over to sit at the bench in front of the piano. Pressing her fingers to the keys, she ignored the fact she had been abandoned, and played a melodious symphonie for herself.

"Thanks Ma!" Sahra exclaimed, grinning and her mother pulled her off into the surrounding forests. "I'm just happy to be out of there..."

An Iron Will Broken
Participants: Sahra, Ephrem

"Come on Re! Let's race!" Jumping up and down, the lanky cheetah girl poked gleefully at her partner. She had been asking her Ephrem to race her for some time now, and he still hadn't agreed to do it! "Please!? I want to so badly~! You know how much I love to race, and I am so curious to see who can run faster now! It's been ages since we last raced!"

It was true, it had been a very long time since they had last raced one another. Another completely true thing was the saying 'curiosity killed the cat,' but Sahra probably wouldn't like that one.

"RUUR. No." The dragon snapped, coiling up even tighter as he used his tail to shove the girl away from his head. "Leave me alone." He whined; he just wanted to sleep! Oh so badly; he had been up all night restlessly, while the girl slept upstairs and he was stuck downstairs all by himself. Couldn't he just let him rest for a while?

"Please, please Re!? I promise I'll let you sleep if you race me just once! From the porch to the rocks and back, that's not that bad, is it?" Mewing, she was a stubborn kitty, and wasn't ready to give up until the iron will of her dragon companion was shattered into a million pieces. "I'll make you tacos tonight if you do!" Grinning, that just had to get his attention, at least, right?

"Sleep." He moaned, even with the promise of his favorite food, the one thing in Re's life that he would normally never pass by, he didn't want to budge. Turning around, he buried his head deeper into the coil of his long serpent like body.

"Pfft, come on, weirdo~!" She purred and shoved herself up against the dragon, eyes wide and smile devious. "Don't make me make you!" Nudging at his side, she wanted nothing more than to run; but she didn't want to do it alone.

"Fine." Rising, the dragon finally gave into the cat. If he quickly did it and got it over with, then the feline would leave him be. That's all he had to do. It couldn't be so bad, or could it?

"Yes!" She shrieked, running off to the door, "Okay, lets start from the porch; you have to run all the way to the base of the mountain and back again. Who ever touches the porch first, wins the race! I can't wait to see who wins~!"

"Mrrr." Re clanked to the steps, he had a slightly hard time getting in and out fo the door now, not to much to be a great bother, but enough to irritate him. He didn't like going in and out of the house anymore, especially not when he was about to fall over, asleep.

"Ready...Set..." The cheetah prolonged saying go, she believed it would add dramatic effect to their race, which she loved! "GO. Like NOW." Darting off, the dragon was right at her side. Despite being a near zombie, Ephrem was still as fast as ever. The only real threat he had was of running into something on the way there and back, which shouldn't be to much of a prob--BANG!! Oh no; unconscious and ALL.

Sliding across the ground, whipping to one side and rushing to the side of the other, Ephrem, yes the sleepy dragon, frantically looked over the cheetah. Wasn't that ironic? Just as he was thinking he needed to be careful of running into something, she does. Boy, the cheetah sure had a knack for trouble!

"Mrr, Srra-cub?" He called, nudging at the side of the cheetah's head worriedly. "Srra-cub!" He whined, now not feeling to confident that she was actually alright this time. "Wake DOWN." Something about that statement didn't sound quite right, but, that didn't matter right now--

"You mean wake up, doncha Re?" The girl laughed, coughing slightly. Her head felt horrible, and her chest felt even worse. Her vision was slightly blurred, but she thought it was natural, since it had happened to her before when she knocked herself unconscious, no big deal.

"Srra-cub! Okay?" He moaned, coiling over the girl instinctively. "Stop doing this, yes."

"Fine." She replied.

WOW. It has been so long since I have written in this old thing. I actually just found it under my old bed when I was cleaning out my room and getting ready to re-paint it. Yep, that’s right, I re-did my whole room! It’s about time, too, my old room was just to, well, little girlish. And guess what else? I chopped my hair off; it’s only shoulder length, now. I also got to pierce my ears; twice on one, three times on the other! I read through my old entry; I remember when that thing was on the loose, I wonder what ever happened to it? I have no idea. Oh, and to Cyrus? I don’t know about that one, either. I’ve also almost completely lost my fear of water. Isn’t that great!?

Ajy came back, too. After such a long time being gone, I’m happy he’s safe and sound. There’s also a lot of other people I’m glad to see alright. Like Indigo, when we where in class something happened, it was a complete accident! And I really didn’t enjoy seeing the expression on her face. I wish I could have done more, but I didn’t know what else to do! I’ll have to try and catch her one of these days at school in between classes or something. Maybe we can have lunch together! That also brings up a lot of other people in my mind, some of my closer friends that I’ve made. I’m so happy to have them all around, even if I don’t always see them a lot. Although my sister is the only exception, since we spend more time together than I do with my own mother. I kind of hope to see others, too, you know? Like Vivi, and Luci, Keanu, Ligeia; the list could probably go on.

My life has also gotten slightly better since Adonai decided to take a leave, something about needing to get back to her profession or something like that. I thought teaching was her profession, but I guess not. It’ll take a load off my back since I won’t have to play piano for endless hours anymore, although I think I’ll miss the art and literature lessons. But my mother promised to continue on Battle Lessons that Adonai was giving me. At least I have that much! I could always go to Yin for other types of lessons, she’s a book worm, anyways, full of an endless fountain of knowledge.

But there’s more to life than learning, like the mall for instance. I really love going to the arcade! It’s so much fun, especially when Re and I get to play against other people. I don’t mind shopping, either, even thou it may be called a stupid girly habit, I like finding more than just clothing. Books, games, you name it, they have it! Besides, mixing and matching new and crazy looking outfits is FUN. It helps me stand out more, not that I really need to, being spotted and all! People can easily SPOT me. Okay, that wasn’t very funny. So what? It made me laugh.

My classes have been getting considerably harder, but more fun, too. I’m not too big on the magic stuff, although my mother assures me it’s not as hard as they make it seem. I guess all I can do is try to believe her. I wish battle classes weren’t required, I don’t need them! I have had perfectly fine lessons here at home; I don’t want to be taught differently, it’d be to strange. But I guess I have to deal, don’t I? Can’t really complain THAT much. I mean, no one else is, so do I really have the right to? Don’t think so Sahra!

Re and I have gotten a lot closer, but since he is getting bigger, it is getting harder for him to come into my room with me at night. Sometimes we end up just sleeping in the living room, or even just outside! He’s just as strange as ever, and I think he might be able to beat me at our races soon. Even thou I deny it! But I think I’ve written enough for now. I’ll try and write more another day when I have more time. This book will stay in a nice spot on my new desk, and not end up under my bed again, I promise journal! Good night to you!

Sahra

Holy crap I haven't written anything in ages. Oh well, can't do anything about that. I don't really have much to write about, well, other than the fact that Sahra is getting to old a little to fast. What ever happened to aging slowly? I wouldn't have liked growing up so fast! It would have been not so fun. Plus that would have meant missing all of those wonderful years of battle training, mm, and so much fun!

It seems that the hormones really are kicking in, though, since the girl is changing so rapidly. He looks and tastes are constantly morphing, and she is becoming a lot, well, crazier. I'm glad she's not overly moody, or at least not yet. I don't think I'm ready to go through what I did raising Sylvia and Silver, yuck, to much attitude. Yes, I remember the good old days, back when those two were still young and I was still at home with...yeah. I miss my little twin sister and brother. But I don't miss my father, Cyrix was a horrible person.

The mountains of home call to me, the essence I bear, in other words my aura is a part of them, and it makes me entirely depressed to think I can't go back to them. But I have new joys, even though the mountains here aren't the same, and the climbing will never be as intense, I have a new family, one I don't intend on leaving anytime soon.

I sound crazed, don't I? Mother always said I was the most insane leopard in the clan, but then again what leopard doesn't have a calling from the mountains? None of my type, that's for sure. I am rambling through writing, even though it feels nice ot get these things off of my chest, I feel that this is mostly useless. I have a job to do tonight, so I better get a move on it and stop wasting time.

Participants: Ms. Millner, Sahra, Ligeia, Keanu, Indigo, and Dragons

Ephrem and Sahra attend their first magick class with Raven. Things don't start out to well when Citrine causes a slight (okay maybe not so much) disturbance, which Re really seemed to enjoy. Indigo gets herself into a bit of a situation. But things settle down eventually, and the four preteens and partners settle in to begin learning the basics.

Spellcasting 101 Homework Response

Directions: Choose something you would want to cast a spell for, and describe how each necessary element of casting that spell might work. Also, write which element you believe would be best at, and why.

I would want to cast a simple spell that would help to temporarily calm down a worked up individual.

For will, I believe that the creature I have in mind to use along with this potion would be my very own partner, Ephrem. He can get out of hand sometimes, getting so worked up and angered that it is very hard to calm him down. So out of sheer intense worry for him, and for anyone who stand in his path I would truly want this spell to work, which is how my mind fits will into the puzzle.

As far as imagination goes, I don’t think it would really be to hard to picture within my mind after closing my eyes a nice scene; a calm, relaxing area with people at ease to match. Ephrem sitting curled up comfortably in a corner napping, not having a care in the world as to what others could bring upon him. This is how I would imagine my spell into working order.

For procedure, I think I would write out a simple poem, or incantation, and maybe mix in a few physical elements to help empower the spell and maybe give it better chances of actually taking effect; maybe some lavender and lilac, a little rose oil and a nice catalyst stone, such as, oh, um, rose quartz maybe, and even some clear quartz to enhance the rose’s properties. I would combine it with more complex items, like a small ritual of some sort, but it being a simpler spell, I think it would be a waist of time.

And on to the next and last portion, which I, truthfully, wasn’t to sure of what was meant; but I think I myself would be best at the imagination step of spell concoction. I have a very easy time perceiving things, and am naturally a very imaginative/daydream sort of person, so I see no difficulty what so ever there.

Spellcasting 102
Participants: Ms. Millner, Sahra, Ligeia, Alaqua, Earako, Indigo, Anoki, and Dragons

Another magick class with Raven, Sahra and Ephrem attend their second course. The cheetah ends up having a severely short attention span, which will most likely cost her in the end. She does, how ever, feel that she contributed a bit, and Re was good the nearly the whole time. It's not nearly as tough a start as previously, and everyone seems to fair out decently.

Flashback - The Almost Accidental Meeting
Participants: Sahra, Strange Man

Rays of sunshine radiated softly off of the crystal cool water, for it was like an over sized mirror, and as fragile as glass. The day was calm, semi-warm, the bright sun having melted all of the snow from the last storm; everything seemed so peaceful and serene. A small girl, a young girl, a younger image of the cheetah known as Sahra, padded along happily, dragging her toddler sized feet along in the dirt. This place was so big! And she had yet to explore much of it. It was all a new adventure just waiting to open up in front of her eyes! She couldn't wait to get out there and see what lurked beyond the wood, behind every branch and beneath every shrub. But something puzzled the young girl, where was her mother? She seemed to never come out in the daytime? Why was that? She had only been there a day or two and only at night had she been with her so called 'mother.' So she was alone, and as nice as it seemed, she felt slightly intimidated in these entirely unknown and strange surroundings.

And as she walked on, a something that she had failed to notice, a rather large, and threatening something, followed after her, stalking her, like she was some sort of prey item. But she wasn't going to be on the menu, no, she wouldn't taste very good, anyways. This creature had been assigned the task of keeping an eye on this young girl. She didn't seem so bad, a little over adventurous maybe, but not to mischievous, but that's where he was all wrong.

Sahra quickly approached the river side; they had been walking for some time; weaving around trees, and ducking under low branches, and struggling through thick under brush. This seemed normal though, there was nothing out of the ordinary happening, it was just another peaceful morning walk on this beautiful mid-winters day, or was it?

The river, with a name unknown to the girl, she expected she would soon learn of it, but didn't worry of it for the time being. After all, Sah was to caught up in watching the fish and other various wild life in and outside of the water. Crayfish, a river otter, a river otter eating the crayfish!? She couldn't help but feel startled, and then, standing at the waters very edge, was when she slipped. Falling into the water, it was rather deep, over her head, and she didn't know how to swim! All she could remember was watching the scenery blur out above her, seeing the world from a completely different perspective. She hadn't made much of an effort to get ot the surface, but she couldn't, she was scared stiff!

But when she finally regained consciousness, she woke to see something staring at her, eye to eye they where, and she was just about to screech. That was, until he cupped a firm pale white hand over her mouth. "It's fine." He said simply, trying not to apply to much pressure upon the girl, "I am no threat to you; I am a very close friend of your mothers, she asked me to keep and eye on you."

Great, now she was going to be babysat all the time? She didn't need a nursery attendant! She could take care of herself perfectly fine! Sahra reached a small black furred hand up to swat away the man?s hand, she wanted him to stop, but he just wouldn't back off!

"I'm not going to let go until you stop squirming and promise not to make a racket." He rubbed one ear, "My head already hurts from your previous screeches..." He was a relatively normal looking man, with long blonde hair that nearly went past his waist. But his pale blue eyes were more like a rabid dogs, not to mention his canines protruded over the edge of his lips. You have to admit, it doesn't seem like such a comforting sight, especially for a toddler out alone in the middle of the woods, all alone, and knew hardly anything about the area she was in.

Sahra finally managed to pull herself away, and gasping for air, she inhaled and exhaled deeply, ears and tail twitching madly, she felt a sudden rush of anger as she turned around. But he was gone! All she saw was a small white lizard; it strutted up to her, and climbed up onto her shoulder. "Don't think I went anywhere." It said, and to Sahra's dismay, it was the same voice off the odd man from just seconds before.

"But wha?" Sahra was speechless, she didn't understand! How could a lizard of such small proportion and a large and scary looking man be the same thing? She reached a hand upward, poking at the creature, she watched it's entire body twitch more than once, and somehow felt amused.

"Will you stop that!" He snapped, nearly chomping down with his small raiser sharp teeth onto one of Sahra's fingers. "I'm a shifter; I can shift into a lot of different things." He explained, "And my name is Aja. It's not my full name, but that's all you need to know." And with that he changed, into an ermine; he slinked around her back onto her opposite shoulder, staring into her confused eyes. "Well?"

"Er, we-well? Wee-el whu-whut?" Her voice was shaky, even when trying her hardest not to show fear, she couldn't help it, "Oh, hrr, my name, Sahra...but wouldn't you have known that?"

"No, no, I meant, well, hmph, never mind, just be on your way."
