Vremea had been relaxed the entire time she'd baked the mooncakes with a calm, wide smile upon her face every moment she did so. However, the raspy voice that rung out nearby her almost made her freeze from shock. Was that really... She allowed her face to shift to the side, glancing at the greenblood to confirm her suspicions-- Yes, that was Kursha. Yes, he was talking to her. She hadn't even noticed him approach her!! Mentally cursing, the adult's shoulders stiffened before realizing she couldn't overreact at seeing someone Vremea knew, not Bellen. She forced herself to relax, setting her jaw before swallowing and letting out a soft sigh. "It's best to be festive at all times." Bellen voiced lightly, almost dreamily, in a tone she hoped sounded different than her normal voice. Clearing her throat, the female glanced to the mooncakes he was making before raising a contemplative eyebrow. "Focusing on my skirt has rendered your rather crudely made mooncakes completely inedible." She immediately brushed her skirt slightly before pulling away from the counter and wiping her hands on the nearest napkin, taking her gloves from the side and putting them back on. "I'll be leaving now." With no goodbye or desire to continue the conversation, the hemoanon departed, walking calmly before speedily rushing away, pump biscuit pumping in slight fear.

Managing to loose the greenblood in the large crowd, Vremea tried to calm herself down enough to see a very great vegetable being offered near the community pot. She calmed herself down, removing her gloves to simply wipe her hands on her dress and inspect the nearly perfect veggie-- It was well grown, no spots in sight! Slightly frazzled but undeterred, Vremea navigated through the crowd and dropped it in, keeping her head lowered. She was sure she'd need some chocolate or just something to calm herself down after that...

"I guess this is goodbye. Goatmom says I can't see you anymore." Nucleo stared down with longing. They'd had so many good times together but now it was all over. He couldn't watch!

Handing over his last tarnip, Nucleo exchanged the crop for a totato. Then in heartbreak, the turned all of his totatoes in and received his tickets. He felt like a traitor, all that for just some flimsy tickets? But this was how one was supposed to play the game! Wasn't the goal to get as many tickets as possible and win?

The greenblood pondered this as he slinked away into the night.

((Nucleo's tarnip problem grows...))

He'd gotten separated from Tevini somewhere in the crowd and ended up leaning against a table in one of the eating areas. The buzz from the crowd was amping up his mood and he watched various trolls come and go. Cerpin was typically a more active and vocal troll but at the moment, he was resting his feet from a long night of hauling punkins to Tevini's secret stash down the road. Later they'd come by to pick them up. It felt a little like stealing to not actually use them for the market game but food was food and the folks back at the swamp would probably appreciate the extra produce until they could grow some crops of their own.

Faces came and went, each one unique but lacking in anything to draw him in. Until he saw her.

"Hey! Slow down!" A lovely girl with glistening golden ornaments adorning herself passed by with a pleasant smile resting on her face. He only caught a glimpse of her teeth but they were long and sharp and certainly fierce looking. He didn't like seadwellers much but there was something about this girl that looked almost sweet. Maybe it was the cheerful shade of orchid that put him in a good mood. Gog, he was even thinking of stuff like orchids, what was wrong with him? Grabbing at her shoulder, he tried to stop her from passing him by and looking into her eyes.

Crap, she was really freaking cute.

"I need your help. My friend never showed and I, uh, wanted to ride that." Cerpin pointed towards a hoof-beast drawn cart making its way down the main road. "It's lonely to go alone... will you come with me? I can pay." Damn, why did he have to be in this stupid yellowblood disguise? He wanted to show off his suave purpleblood persona! Well, maybe she'd take pity on a 'lowblood' and humor him, right? He turned up the charm on his smile from level 3 to 4.

His hand did not let go until she answered.

"Be honest with me, has anyone found the needle yet?" Nucleo crossed his arms when he approached the farmer. This game was supposed to be challenging but still winnable! It was suspicious to him that none of the other trolls he'd talked to tonight had had any luck. The greenblood didn't make a fuss about these kinds of things often but he hated it when people were given false hope! Hope was such a special emotion, and so fragile. He wanted to protect it in his friends.

"It'd be really sad if no one finds it by the end of the festival." Nucleo nodded to the farmer and then went on his way. If the farmer had been cheating and kept the needle out of hte haystack, maybe this little chat would let him know trolls were watching. He'd better add the needle back in quick!

"Awright!" Beaming with pride at his latest batch of mooncakes, Nucleo almost considered finding that girl again and showing her he could make them right. But he decided against it. He needed to run and check on the community pot and didn't have time! The festival was beginning to wind down and there wasn't much time left to squeeze out all the activities he wanted to do!

"Is it ready yet?" Darting over to the pot, Nucleo found himself too early. Augh fine, he'd come back again later. But it smelled so good and he was so ready to eat! Goatmom had done a good job enforcing no more snacks so he was good and properly hungry now. Well, before he left he'd drop in a pack of onions in. They weren't as good as tarnips but they were second best. Into the pot they went!

      ツ Lutrin Weesil

Off to the side, Lutrin saw a giant bubbling pot. Watching, she saw a few passing trolls tossing various objects in—primarily the edible sort. Hustling over, Lutrin peered over the rim. Inside was a foamy broth, full of nutritional lumps. Delighted, Lutrin decided to add in her on contribution. Grabbing some bark, she tossed it into the pot. Gotta get some delicious vascular cambium into one's diet. Bark was not enough though. She debated for a moment, rubbing her chin. Then she withdrew a tarnip from her person stash and added it as well. Tarnips are good for both soup and the soul. “Wheeee!”

“No way! I'm fine” Lutrin chimed back, bouncing on her heels. “I'm like... like... jello! Bouncy and full of peptides and proteins. Or at least that's what dad says.” She blew air into one cheek thoughtful. Then she moved it into the other cheek. Then she alternated back and forth a few times. She certainly was full of pep if anything.

Suddenly something seemed to occur to Lutrin. She jolted. “Oh! Sorry about bumping into you. Here! I'll help! Before they all decide to roll away. Ehehe.” Humming, she knelt down and began to scoop up the fallen vegetables. As she held up a punkin to the yellowblood, she sighed wistfully. “I love punkins! We can never grow any and the forest but you can use them in almost anything. And the seeds are the best!”

Keionx returned to the haystack, thoughtful. Soon, the community pot would be served to the festivalgoers, and her duties at it would be over. For now, though...

She began to shuffle through the haystack, and then stopped. There was a familiar teen there, too. Keionx squinted at them - a rebel, one she knew well, but they were well disguised and...

No. She knew who they were. "Art thou... Having fun, Ephias?" she asked quietly, approaching him as subtly as possible.

Keionx made some more mooncakes. She tried her best with them, but she determined that these were not the food of the future - hers turned out dry and cruddy, but edible, and it was fine, but not anything to write home about... wherever that was anymore.

Those snoutbeasts however... she'd have to inquire about them.

Keionx returned to the community pot and added a punkin to it before returning to her guard. She was glad that others from the Swamp were enjoying themselves... that was important. No lives had been utterly ruined, nobody was actively sad. It was good to see and know that. It made her feel... better?

Better...

How bad had she really felt? Very bad, apparently. She had, apparently, actually been very upset. And now... she was...

Okay.

And that was good.

Before she left for the community pot, however, Keionx stopped by the produce stand. Seeing, to her dismay, that all the prices had risen, she decided to at least get a little bit out of it and turn in some of her crops for currency...

Without expecting much, Gourdi thrust both of her prongs into the hay. She felt around for a bit, lips tilted downwards into a lazy frown. Her search, as always, proved to be fruitless. She removed her hands, shooting a glare in the direction of the lowblood in charge of the hay. She took her ticket from him, and left.

Gourdi didn't even try anymore. She threw the cakes together without a care, mixing and mashing to her pumpbiscuit's content. HoofDaddy watched with raised brows as his young troll pulled from the hot box an unrecognizable mess. She flipped the tray over, spilling the cakes onto the ground and gave a firm stomp to each one.
