Kyou
The remainder of winter melted away as spring descended upon earth. Colorful flowers had started to bloom all around Gambino, tulips in all colors, yellow dandelion flowers and purple crocuses in full bloom. Spring had always been a favorite season of Kyou's, the colorful flowers and the cooling, crisp air freshen's the scientist's senses. Momentarily, as he walked pass a garden full of white daffodils, he was reminded of the daffodils that always bloom in front of the lab building during spring. Unfortunately there won't be any this year, with the gardens sitting in ruins the only thing that will probably bloom there are weeds.

However, today was not a day to reminiscent about days of the pass that are long gone, it should be a day of joy and celebration. A pair of chocolate tanned hands clutched to his arm as he continued to walk along the pavement, her golden accessories jingling softly as they move. Often times, the wheels of fate works in weird ways. This evening's dinner plans was decided nearly two weeks ago, and yet earlier today in the wee hours of the morning there had been a surprise Raevan emergence from the tanks in the lab rubbles that belonged to the hostess. Her bright colors able to contend with the blooming spring flowers and her joyous nature brighter than the morning sun. In fact, it made Kyou's day so much more brighter than before.

It saddens Kyou a little however, that he couldn't keep her around too much, she has a guardian of her own as well and they are heading in the direction of her residence now. The Frei's bright smile never leaving her features as they passed by the gorgeous garden, she just contented herself on hugging to Kyou's arm quietly as they ascended the stairs to Natsuki's foyer. The last time he was here it was flooding with authorities, police going in the out gathering evidence. It wasn't a pleasant experience. However today he brings good news. Kyou found himself feeling excited, he wondered what would Natsuki's reaction be when she sees her. "You ready?" Kyou asked as he stepped in front of of the doors. As the Frei gave a quiet nod, he raised a hand and rapped the door loudly.

Natsuki
Lacy curtains billowed out of nearly every window in Natsuki's house. Fresh air, flower scent, and a gorgeous home cooked meal perfumed the air of her impeccably cleaned house. Although she finished her spring cleaning around the New Year, she gave the house an additional once over as today she was expecting special company. It had been ages since their last meeting, and the reasoning behind it was the traumatic experience of Chloe's abduction. She hadn't felt safe in her own house for months, but she pushed hard every day to find the strength to live happily in the large, empty house.

Buzzing around the kitchen like a busy like bumble bee, she checked the stove top, oven, and most importantly, dessert. Her eyes drifted back and forth between her calendar and the clock on the wall. It was almost time, and her heart pulse raced. Unlike work which blended together in a blur from one day to the next, she was lucid and focused for the first time in months. You'd think the Queen was making a formal house visit by all the pomp and circumstance she'd gone through, but that was simply Natsuki's style. Tonight's guest in particular was more important the Queen, well, at least to the redhead anyway. A vase of handpicked flowers from her luscious garden decorated the large dining table set for two. Fine china edged in gold and patterned with delicate flowers awaited the feast brewing in the kitchen.

At the sound of knocking on the door, Natsuki's ears perked, causing her to almost drop the roasted chicken on the floor. After a few unbalanced steps, both she and chicken went unscathed and the roasted bird rested on the counter. "Coming---," she replied cheerily with her voice ringing through the house musically. She washed her hands and dried them quickly on a dish towel. Stripping off her apron and hanging it on a hook near the kitchen door, Natsuki passed through the doorway smoothing her hair nimbly. Taking a deep breath, she unlocked the door and opened it, pulling it toward her.

"Oh Kyou, please come in! It's been far too long, I hope you've brought..." Natsuki started off strong with warm sincere smile. She held her arms open ready to hug him, when she noticed the handsome doctor was not unaccompanied this evening. At the sight of the beautiful raevan with sun-kissed cocoa skin and more colors than illuminated stained glass windows on a sunny day, her voice trailed off. The young Frei's clothes and accessories were intricate and gorgeous. Who knew Kyou could create beings with such fantastic fashion sense. There was an exotic look to the young girl, as if she hadn't originated from the beach town of Isle de Gambino.

Very few things have the ability to render Natsuki speechless, unexpected company, particularly of this nature, tend to do the job quite magnificently. Stormy gray eyes looked up at Kyou with look that could be described no better as a combination of confusion and mischief. What on earth did Kyou have up his sleeves? The natural ending of her sentence would have been 'your appetite' as Natsuki was a famed entertainer and hostess, but she concluded with a rather puzzled, "... a raevan?"

Kyou
Kyou would've accepted that hug happily if he didn't have a pair of arms clutched to his arm already. However, he wasn't disappointed at all as he grinned cheekily at Natsuki's reaction as her eyes settled onto the young Frei. She was speechless, exactly the same reaction as his when he first set eyes on her as well. But he must not forget his manners now. Bowing down graciously, he took Natsuki's hand with his free one and he planted a fleeting kiss on it. "It is nice to see you again too!" He beamed as he spoke. However, he did not remove his gentle grip to the woman's hand as he straighten back up, his posture poised.

The scientist nodded curtly at the wonderful lady standing in the doorway before him at her simple statement, (or was it more like a question?) a few strands of hair fell forward. "Yes, I brought a Raevan with me." His tone was very proper, like how a gentleman should be. "Not just any Raevan. Your Raevan." He spoke, putting emphasis to a single word in the last sentence he uttered. Gently he moved the arm that the Frei was clutching to, causing her to loosen her grip on it. A quiet look of curiosity graced the young girl's tanned, delicate features as she withdrawn her hands. Smiling warmly, he took one of her hands and placed it onto Natsuki's, pressing their hands together. A few seconds passed before he withdrawn his own hands from the pair's, allowing a little more time for them to remain contact. Then taking a step back, he allowed more space for the two to get to know each other better. Silently, he hope that Natsuki will love the young Frei as much as he loved her.

Natsuki
Natsuki beamed as Kyou displayed his unchanging gentlemanly nature. She couldn't remember the last time anyone had been so sincere and delicate, and she curtsied in return. With a soft squeeze, she clasped her free hand around his as well before letting go gently. Something was undeniable comforting about her long time friend, Dr. Kyou. His welcome was warm, but it wouldn't compare to the heat that spread through her system next. Her warm smile blossomed into a brilliant grin after his words finally registered with her.

'Her raevan...' After months of worrying about Chloe disappearing, the Lab blowing up, and countless other bumps in the road, she was finally here... and Natsuki hadn't even selected a name. It wasn't that she hadn't researched books, checked out internet sites, and endured disdainful and reproachful glares from other customers as she nearly set up camp in the baby books section... she simply hadn't selected one from the laundry list tacked onto the wall in her office.

"Kyou, she's absolutely..." Natsuki said, shaking herself free from the dreamy clouds floating around her head. "...beautiful..." Standing only a few feet from one another, the distance didn't feel so close until Kyou linked their hands together. Her delicate fingers and fair skin looked almost stark white against the cocoa tan of the raevan before her. Warmth radiated from the young girl's touch, as if a ray of sunshine were warming a patch of flowers. A tear or two misted in the corners of her eyes the longer she looked at the young Frei before her. She was finally home.

"You're here! so lucky that my wish finally came true! Welcome home... " Natsuki said, trying her best not to cry and make a total fool of herself. The redhead was on the verge of gushing, but the genie before her couldn't have turned out more perfect. Great sense of fashion and style with a fanastic selection of makeup and use of color, they'd be fast friends in no time where she was concerned. Without her realizing it, the name came to her mouth naturally and fluidly, as if she were inspired to select them, "....Sa'ida... Sa'ida Maram Nagatani."

Kyou
It was a pleasure to see the sight before him - Natsuki holding the young Frei's hand and gushing quietly, tears of happiness welling in her eyes. Kyou had always considered it an honor to see a scene such as this, full of warmth and happiness. And it warms his heart so. His eyes lighten up when Natsuki mentioned the Frei's name ever so naturally. "That is a beautiful name." He said, beaming. Directing his eyes towards the genie, he repeated the name again, nodding. "Sa'ida."

The fragrant smell of roast chicken came upon Kyou's nose then, closing his eyes momentarily he inhaled a deep breath, savoring the delicious smell. His stomach rumbled lowly in response, not loud enough to be obnoxious, but loud enough to be heard if listened closely. The scientist's face colored a little from the rumbling, feeling embarrassed of his impatient stomach. But it was without a doubt that he is hungry. He only had a tuna sandwich for lunch, and it was hours ago.

"So are we going to stand here all day or are you inviting us in?" He asked in a good-natured manner, chuckling softly. Secretly he cannot wait to see what Natsuki had cooked up in the kitchen, especially for dessert!

Natsuki
The young Frei giggled as her new guardian named her. She didn't know what a name was, but Sa'ida thought it was beautiful. It was in a language different from what the red haired lady and Dr. Kyou spoke, but the meaning was clear to her. A warm glow emanated from her, making her colors shine more beautifully. "Nice to meet you! Thank you for taking care of me," Sa'ida smiled. She had practiced it over and over while she waited for this time to arrive. She found her new guardian so very different from Dr. Kyoupi, but she was happy to see that they seemed to be friends. She was sad about leaving the lab, but her new home seemed just as fantastic-- and so colorful!

"Oh goodness, Kyou! You give me a surprise like this and then you give me a hard time," Natsuki chuckled hearing the sweet doctor's tummy rumble. Always priding herself on her prime hostessing capabilities, but events like these had a tendency to knock her off her game. Turning to step into the door way, she gently let go of Sa'ida's hands. "I hope you are hungry, sir. Tonight's menu consists of corn and butternut squash soup, fresh baked French baguette, roast chicken, candied sweet potatoes, and a surprise dessert. You know the rules, Kyou, make yourself at home."

Leading the way to through the house, Natsuki drifted in dreamy state through the foyer, and into the open plan living room and kitchen. Just beyond the kitchen was the dining room, pristinely set for the evening meal. The soup bubbled softly on the stove, while the roast chicken and baked potatoes warmed over in the double ovens. The crusty bread slices nestled in blue and white gingham napkin in a wicker basket, with warmth visably dancing above it. She drifted to the kitchen and removed two wine glasses from the glassware rack over the bar. "Are you drinking this evening, Doc, or would you like something lighter like iced tea or fruit punch?" Whipping open the fridge door, she gave a TV game show model wave at the large selection of beveraging available.

Colorful cushions immediately drew the young Frei's attention. The mixture of textures and patterns demanded to the touched and appreciated, practically calling the young genie to them. Plucking up a lush purple and gold pillow, she stroked the fabric carefully almost in an analytic nature. "Red Lady's colors smell different than Dr. Kyou's. Dr. Kyou smells like White Honey, English Toffee, and Rich Patchoili, but Red Lady smells like Japanese Plum, Winter Tsubaki (Camelia), and and Yuzu Lime." Tossing the pillow lighty into its place, she bounced from colorful object to colorful object in the room. Leaning close to odd items, her nose would wrinkle as she sampled all the different color scents in the room.

Natsuki's brow quirked at the young Frei's detailed commentary about the way she and Kyou smelled. Though she wore purfume, it contained none of the fragrance notes the young genie mentioned. She blushed, realizing that Sa'ida called her 'Red Lady'. How could she have possibly forgotten to introduce herself to her own raevan!? Her overtly prim and proper grandma would drop dead if she'd witnessed her failures as a Yanagitani Clan Daughter. "Sa'ida, I am so sorry! My name is Natsuki, not Red Lady. I was so happy to meet you, that my brain's just left on vacation," the cafe owner laughed, feeling her cheeks glow a soft red. Maybe she was The Red Lady.

Kyou
"Those sound lovely, and a surprise dessert sounds very cheeky." The handsome scientist winked playfully at Natsuki. Although he had to admit, if she is playing a game, his curiosity had definitely piqued. A colorful selection of desserts had started to pop one by one in Kyou's head as he entered the comfortable house, silently wondering what would it be. Apple pie perhaps? Hmm no, a little too plain for a wonderful cook such as Natsuki, he expects more! Chocolate brownies maybe? He haven't had those in a while, it would be lovely served warm with delicious vanilla ice cream. Then again, tiramisu sounds delightfully delicious too. The doctor found himself couldn't pick out a dessert if they were all presented before him. Perhaps he would settle on sampling all of them if he had such a chance.

Walking into the house, he followed Natsuki and the delicious smell of food through the kitchen and into the dining room. He was standing by the dining table and admiring the hostess's cooking prowess when she asked the question about drinks. "No I'm not drinking tonight, I still have some work to do later when I get back. Some iced tea should be fine." Kyou replied politely as he turned around, peering into the fridge curiously. Perhaps if he was quick enough, he would be able to take a peek at the surprise dessert if he look hard enough. But unfortunately for him, he saw no such thing that resembled a cake in her fridge.

Raising his gold eyes, he looked in the direction of the living room where he could faintly hear the newborn Frei playing with the cushions. He decided that he should wait in the living room while Natsuki finish making dinner, so that he wouldn't get in her way. As he got closer to the living room, the Frei started to comment about his smell, which was... odd. He wore some cologne specially for the dinner, but it weren't any of the scent that Sa'ida mentioned. However, adding the scents together, it does sound oddly suitable for him. Taking a seat on a cushion, he settled down comfortably as he watch the curious Frei go around the room inspecting items of different colors.

Kyou chuckled heartily at Natsuki's mistake on forgetting to introduce herself to the Frei. It was rather adorable really, even he himself did not notice that she haven't mentioned her name to Sa'ida.

Natsuki
"You know I love to keep you guessing, Doc." Natsuki smiled as she glided through the kitchen, plucking items out of the cabinets and drawers effortlessly."Alas, the deserts are hidden in my test kitchen, Kyou. Try as you may, you won't find them in there, but if you're a good boy, I might send you home with extras for Lazarus and the Lab folk."

On a silver serving tray, she set a tall glass and filled it with star shaped ice cubes, before pouring freshly brewed iced tea. In smaller dishes and pots, slices of lemon and key lime, colored sugar cubes, creamer, sugar syrup, and honey surrounded formed a crescent along the edge of the tray. Timers started chiming, interrupting her set up. Whipping around, she smacked the timers and turned down the temperatures

Having her fill of the living room, the young genie finally settled down on the couch besides her guardian's guest of honor. Vivid green eyes wide with excitement were fixated on the Doc as Sa'ida proclaimed in a melodic voice "I think I am going to love it here with Nat-soo... Nah-te-susu... Natchi! This place just feels so happy and warm!" She threw her arms up in the air in celebration. Golden bangles and jewelry jangled happily. The kitchen heat was a welcomed change from the lingering cold clinging to the oncoming spring.

Leaving the kitchen and joining Kyou and Sa'ida in the living room, the red head appeared ten years young, joyfully buzzing around. On the coffee table, she set a coaster down, placing the tall glass atop it. She deftly set the tray on the table, facing the selection of condiments to her guest. "Things have been quite busy at the lab, haven't they? I hope you aren't working yourself too hard. How's Lazarus, he must be getting bigger and bigger." Natsuki's interactions with Dr. Kyou's raevan were quite limited, but his reputation certainly preceded him.

Little, tanned fingers plucked a single lemon slice from the dish. Excitedly she held it to her nose and breathed the scent in deeply, sharp and tart. Holding it up to the light, the thin slice looked almost translucent. Unlike Kyou and Natchi, the lemon simply smelled like nothing more than a lemon. "This smells so good! What do you do with it? It's such a joyful, happy yellow!"

Kyou
It was a joy to watch Sa'ida bubbling around the living room like that. Kyou had wondered if Natsuki would be lonely living alone in such a big house as this, especially after Chloe left. However now that Sa'ida is here, the scientist had no doubts that she will be bringing a lot of joy and maybe even mischief to the cafe owner's life. And it is already showing on Natsuki's face as she set down the glass of iced tea on the table, beaming happily and appearing much younger than before. Kyou couldn't help but feel grateful and warm inside.

"Thank you." He said as he picked up the cup of iced tea, taking a tea spoon of honey he stirred the sweet and sticky substance into his tea. He do so love tea with honey, it is very deliciously refreshing. "Well, the Lab reconstruction work is starting soon, so I'm just busy doing the paperwork and looking over the various aspects of the construction now. Just yesterday I had to decide what tile to use for the bathrooms." A light chuckle escaped his lips before he took a sip of the honeyed tea he just made. Delicious! "I would probably still be busy doing that in the days to come, who knew supervising a construction work is so tedious? As for Lazarus, well. He is still the same as usual." He don't know why he had nothing to say about Lazarus, probably deep inside he had not fully forgave the Sigel for what he had done to the Lab. Or perhaps that he was just so busy that he and Lazarus barely talked lately.

Raising the cup to his lips, he took another long sip and sighed contentedly. Sa'ida held up a piece of lemon and exclaimed then. Sometimes some newborn Raevans spout nonsense, innocent ones perhaps. Kyou thought what Sa'ida had been joyfully exclaiming were probably how her mind see things at her current immature state. However now Kyou had started to think differently, maybe she wasn't spouting nonsense after all. Is it possible that she is perhaps, smelling colors?

It was at that moment that the scientist felt an uncomfortable twist in his stomach as it threatened to growl in protest again. Setting down the cup on the table, he raised his bright gold eyes as he posed the embarrassing question to Natsuki. "Uhm... is dinner ready yet? I know this is very impolite of me to ask, but..." An audible growl of an empty stomach came then, a little louder than before. Kyou's face colored at that moment. "...I think my stomach is protesting against my will."

Natsuki
No sooner did she drop off the beverage, Natsuki ghosted away back to the kitchen, pulling everything out of the ovens and effortlessly transporting them to the dining room. All the fixings went first on a large tray, and the red head systematically placed them on the pastel lace table cloth. She listened contently at the woes of rebuilding the Lab. Part of her still couldn't believe it was gone. It reminded her of when her cafe in Durem burned to the ground, forcing her to relocate closer to home in Isle de Gambino.

"Did you pick a nice durable tile? Maybe something with a little bit of color? It sounds so trying. I hope you know you can always come here or to the cafe if you ever need a refresh break or a place to hide," she reassured. The table settings were opposite one another at one end of table as setting the long table formally, like in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, just seemed impractical and silly for friends. Last but certainly not least, the roast chicken emerged from the oven, its aroma yielding an audible groan from Natsuki to match Kyou's.

Sa'ida played with the lemon, giving it an innocent lick, taste testing its flavor. The tart acidity matched the yellow perfectly, making her smile. Watching the Doctor add the gooey, yummy blonde honey to his tea, bright green eyes scanned the tea tray teeming with small dishes. As he drank his team, curiosity bloomed within her. Mimicking his actions, the genie took the frail slice of lemon and popped it in her mouth. Mauve lips puckered shut and smoky, chocolate eyelids clamped shut. "Pretteh yerrow so sour, but zesty," the Frei mumbled, between clenched teeth. Sticking out her tongue, slender fingers plucked the slice out. Oddly enough, the lemon was far paler in color than all the other slices in the dish, and a yellow splotch of color lingered on the child's tongue. It faded quickly as she licked her lips cheerily. Discarding the blanched slice on Kyou's napkin, she bounced away toward her Red Lady in the dining room. "Such a happy, yummy yellow," she mused in a sing-song voice, twirling about.

"All rightie, Kyou, dinner is served. I do apologize for the wait. Sometimes, I get too caught up in being the perfect hostess, that its my shortcoming. It's just been so long, and I wanted our reunion to be fantastic," she confided with a flush in her cheeks, wringing her hands in her apron nervously. Gesturing to the table, her hands landed on his chair and pulled it out for him. "Help yourself to as much as you like. It's been a while since I've cooked for anyone else at home besides myself, and I do fear that I've gone a bit overboard."

Sa'ida approached the dining room hesitantly. Unlike the brilliant, comforting warm of the living room, the dining room had a much more refined and elegant reverence to it. The natural wood surfaces sang songs of their past. In a inlaid cabinet, delicate porcelain china, painstakingly hand painted and rimmed in gold glittered under the lighting. Touching the wooden shelf carefully, the little one simply looked at the tea cups, saucers, and assorted dishes. Turning to her new guardian, Sa'ida smiled brilliantly, competing with the rosey sunset gathering on the horizon outside the dining room windows, "Natchi, I am happy that you love colors so much, and not just the bright ones. You have natural ones like these," the Frei smiled, running her fingers along the wooden chair back and touching the lace table cloth, "and soft ones like those," she motioned to the china cabinet."I'm lucky because you like all colors, and there are so many, many of them! That means you're going to like me so much as my favorite thing in the world are colors...and Dr. Kyou... and you!"

Looking at the table, Natsuki new what she had to do. Reaching into the cabinets in the running table, she pulled out a third place setting. She didn't know why she did, but not including her second dinner guest would be inappropriate. Setting the place to match, the cafe manager thought the action a bit silly, knowing full well that Frei don't have stomachs, so the concept of eating would be quite lost on the young raevan. Regardless, she set a seat for Sa'ida at the head of the table, between her place and Kyou's. Though it clashed with the table decor, she took out a rainbow colored, glass bead napkin ring from her collection and slipped it around the white napkin. If anything, that may keep her entertained instead of eating, Natsuki thought. "Yes, I love colors and I am certain we are going to be a great family, Sa'ida. I'm lucky to have tou too!"

Kyou
The thought of dropping by the cafe for a break sometimes sounds very tempting, especially with the upcoming supervising work when the Lab building actually enters construction. Kyou was told that he probably should pay a visit everyday to make sure that everything goes according to plan. "I picked a nice golden brown tile." He replied, smiling fondly at the choice of tiles he chosen. The color was beautiful and elegant with a touch of grandeur to it, and at the same time it was affordable. Matched with the light brown wall tiles, the bathroom would look expensive and glamorous. However, that was just one decision among hundreds others that he needed to make. He had still yet to decide on the carpeting and wallpaper or paint colors for the various office rooms, not to mention getting the furniture later.

Closing his eyes momentarily, he took another long sip from his glass. Now is not the time to think of work, he was supposed to enjoy himself, yet he fell under the pressure by thinking about work again. When he opened his eyes, the golden orbs settled on the cheerful Frei before him. Yes, he shall not think about work tonight, he could worry about it tomorrow. But now, he is determined to enjoy himself.

There was however something that intrigues him as well. The scientist stared curiously at the pale slice of lemon discarded on his napkin. It was only for a moment, but Kyou was sure he saw the color somehow got stuck on Sa'ida's tongue, as if the lemon's color was painted on with cheap paint and fell off when came in contact with liquid. He pondered the possibilities, she was made with a rainbow-colored fel essence, which make it possible that colors would be her main diet. Interesting indeed.

Having heard that dinner is finally served, the man got up and eagerly and let his nose guide hid body to the dining table, the delicious smell is simply exquisite! "Thank you." He smiled and nodded curtly as he took his seat that Natsuki pulled out for him. If they were eating out, Kyou should be the one pulling out the chair for Natsuki, however today she is acting as a hostess and the man will allow her to play her part respectfully as he kick back and relax. Settling down in his seat, he gave a thoughtful stare at the spotless dining ware, before feasting his eyes on the variety of food served on the table. Indeed, she had gone way too overboard. This feast could feed at least ten men! "They look delicious!" Kyou chuckled heartily as he spoke, mentally choosing which shall he start first when Natsuki settled down on the table.

The scientist beamed happily as Sa'ida took a seat beside him, he knew that Freis wouldn't be able to eat human food, but having her as a company is a joyous enough event. He waited a moment longer until Natsuki is properly seated opposite of him on the dinner table. "Shall we start?" He asked. With a nod of approval from the hostess, the man stood up and begin to saw into the roasted chicken, producing a generous piece for Natsuki as well as for himself. This is the most he could do to repay the lady's kindness.

The small gathering went on well into the night, laughter and voices filled the house giving it life like never before. The food was without a doubt excellent, so was the surprise dessert that Kyou had been fantasizing about. In the end, the scientist found himself packing back some food for the next day's lunch and dinner because there were simply too much, even Tsu's portion as well. But in the future, he also found himself visiting Natsuki's cafe more often to order the 'special dessert' that she served.
