"I'm... going out!!" Lazarus shouted towards Kyou's room with the slightly opened door. His voice sounded a little shaky and uncertain.

"Where are you going??" Kyou however, did no notice the slightly unsteady tone of Lazarus's voice. As he didn't even moved his eyes away from the research notes that he's been writing as he asked reflexively.

"Uh... I have a date...
with another Raevan..." Lazarus mumbled the last part as he quickly exited the apartment with a soft banging of the front door, not wanting Kyou to ask anymore questions.

"A date...?" Finally, that caught Kyou's attention. He raised his gaze from his notes with a raised eyebrow and stared at the closed door. But he was too late, Lazarus had already left. That indeed sparked his curiosity though, Laz is growing up! He wondered who could the girl be, he hope it wasn't a guy. He chuckled to himself at Lazarus's honesty though, he didn't even bother to use an excuse. It's quite cute sometimes. As much as he's tempted to stalk Lazarus down on his first date, he resumed to writing his notes. He could always question Lazarus later when he comes back.

Lazarus was dead nervous as he floated down the streets towards his destination - Cafe Jubilee. He had been wandering around the area frequently enough with Kyou that people had somehow gotten used to his weird form now, though he still attract some weird gazes sometimes. But those doesn't bother him now.

After the Summer Festival had ended, reality only sank in for Lazarus that he had agreed to a date with Tariel without realising it. Haven't been on a date before, he didn't know what to expect. He had only seen people dating on televisions. Doing things together, sharing food, holding hands, kissing... he blushed at the last thought. But he don't have any special feelings for Tariel, as far as he know. He don't dislike Tariel though. So the only thing he could do now, is see how things will progress.

Before he knew it the cafe was within sight. Floating a little swifter towards the doors, he opened them slowly, nervously. He wondered if Tariel had arrived or not..?

Tariel had been up early, like always. She woke with the sun and was her cheerful self from the moment she woke - completely opposite her mother, who stayed up late working and therefore slept in, and was grumpy when woken. Tari floated through the house, humming and singing all morning.

Kali was not impressed. She groaned as she dragged herself down the hall to the kitchen, completely lacking in grace. "Stop that singing or I'm not taking you anywhere!" she thundered.

Tari meeped and pressed her lips together tightly. She almost buzzed in place, not wanting to miss another trip to the pretty cafe, and also not wanting to miss out on the chance to spend time with another Raevan. Thanks to her mother's anti-social nature, Tari hadn't met many others of her kind. It wouldn't do to be rude and stand Lazarus up, either - he might tell other Raevans not to bother with her if she couldn't keep her word.

Taking her time over eating and waking up, Kali was amused when she noticed Tari's behaviour. First date jitters, she guessed. Not that her baby had any idea what a date was - and Kali hoped it would stay that way. Thankfully, most Raevans were barely-formed. She wouldn't have to worry about boys wanting sex from her baby for a long while yet. And in the meantime, she could prepare some curses for when that time came...

"Done?" Tari ventured.

Kali looked down to find both plate and cup empty. She deposited them on the sink for later. "Alright," she held a hand out to Tari, "shall we go?"

Bouncing up and down in the air, Tari reached out a gauntleted hand and placed it carefully in her mother's. The air around them blurred. Tari shivered, her stomach dropping out like she'd dive-bombed out of the clouds. When the blur faded, Tari gave a cry of delight to recognise Gambino Isle and, just a few buildings away, the lovely cafe that Nat-soo-key owned.

She was off and flying before she remembered to turn and wave to her mother. "Bye-bye!"

Kali frowned. "Do you remember the way home?"

"Yes!" Tari replied, beaming. Her expression turned serious as she repeated her instructions. "If not remember, have Nat-soo-key call mama. Mama come and get Tari."

Reluctantly, Kali nodded and then turned to walk in the other direction. She'd do some shopping of her own before heading back to her experiments.

Free at last, Tari sped towards the cafe. As she reached the doors, she spied familiar red-and-white hair on a figure just entered. "Lazrus hair!" she squealed, and glomped him from behind. Mmm, such nice soft hair!

"AAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!!!" Lazarus screamed audibly as he jumped in shock when Tariel glomped him out of nowhere. "Y... you shocked me!!" he cried out as he turned to look at Tariel. He was a bundle of nerves just now and Tariel could've made him jump out of his skin if that was possible.

He immediately tensed up though, when he realised that Tariel's boobs were pressed against his side, his eyes growing wide. Softly yet a politely as he could, he wriggled out of Tariel's arms and tried his best to straighten himself. "Let's... head inside shall we..? You said the food here is nice...?" Lazarus said, eyes concentrating unnecessary at the door knob as he pushed the door open. He held the door open for Tariel to enter first, because he'd seen guys do it on the television and girls seem to like it. His eyes glancing towards her, trying his best to not stare at the wrong spots.

Tari jumped herself when Lazarus yelled. "Tari sorry," she ducked her head and floated lower to the floor. "Just happy to see Lazrus..."

And here she'd made another bad impression, despite showing up on time! The young Raevan worried that she was going to end up making things worse. She just wanted friends among her own kind.

She perked up a little when Lazrus didn't run off, and instead opened the cafe door. "Yes, good food," she replied, nodding enthusiastically. "And pretty! Flowers and flutterbyes and sakura..."

Tari gave Lazarus a huge, beaming smile before floating forward into the cafe. She didn't understand why he wasn't moving. Maybe he wanted her to go in first and check there was no danger? Tari could do that!

Lazarus hadn't noticed that him shouting suddenly like that had scared Tari a little. He just wanted to get out from the streets as he noticed that both him and Tariel had just attracted some strange gazes from some passerby.

"Flowers and butterflies? You mean?" he corrected Tariel. However, he couldn't imagine these subjects in a cafe though. Flowers probably, but butterflies? And sakura too? Aren't those the pink flowers that only bloom in spring? It's nearly winter now.

He entered the cafe after Tariel and the door shut closed behind him. Now that they are in here, he was unsure of what to do next. Should they greet Natsuki? He remembered the lady from the pass festivals, Kyou also visited this place several times with Lazarus to buy cake. But unlike Kyou, he never had any of them before. Floating nervously slightly behind Tariel, he half hoped that Tariel would lead him instead.

"Butter... fly?" Tari repeated and tilted her head to one side. Visions of winged slabs of butter flittering about crossed her mind. "No no, flutterbyes. Because they flutter by."

She shot Lazarus a concerned look. Poor thing, not knowing the name of something as simple as a flutterby. Some Raevans obviously had sheltered upbringings. Shrugging, she flittered on ahead to the counter.

"Nat-soo-ki?" she enquired of the lady next to the wait-to-be-seated sign. "Please tell her Tari is here. Tari says hi." She beamed and waved to prove her point. "Brought friend, too." She reached out and grabbed Lazarus' hand, holding it and swinging their arms slightly.

While she waited, Tari stared out the giant windows at the back of the cafe. There was no pink sakura anymore, like there had been when she visited with her mother. A pout formed. Her favourite flower, no longer here. She didn't understand why - the sakura trees at home bloomed every few months. Tari had no way of knowing that magic regulated her mother's garden, so she expected constant blooming everywhere else, too.

"No sakura... Sadsad," she mourned aloud. Turning to her date, she explained, "Tari's favourite. What are Lazrus' favourite?"

"With pleasure, Miss Tari," the waitress said, bowing politely and giving a gentle smile, before turning on her heel and hurrying across the cafe to Natsuki who was busy watering the freshly planted tiger and star gazer lilies. Since the owner got herself tangled up with some unknown organization, a motley crew of half-torso beings and their alleged "guardians" took to frequenting Cafe Jubilee. Though the service staff had acclimated themselves to their new clientele, the customers still had a fair bit to go. Thankfully, the lunch rush had just finished and the crowd thinned out.

"Well, this is certainly a pleasant surprise," Natsuki said, walking up to the Sigel and Frei with a brilliant smile and adjusting her white gloves. Her long red hair was swept up in a French twist and pinned with an ornate clip. Despite it being a little chilly outside, her uniform remained unchanged, showing off her slender shoulders and accentuating her other features. She clasped her hands and giggled, as a sliver gleam shone in her eyes. Could it possibly be that the young duo were on a date?

"Shall I take you up to the garden again, Tariel? I am sure Lazarus might enjoy the view. There are some pretty birds up there at the moment," Natsuki said gesturing to the staircase leading up to the second floor. Plucking two menus from the stand, she turned around and put one heeled foot in front of the other.

Lazarus raised an eyebrow at Tari's logic. Though he is quite sure that 'butterfly' is the correct term for that particular species of insect, but he couldn't help but ponder Tari's reasoning as well. Interesting, he thought as he stared at Tariel.

He blushed slightly though, when Tariel grabbed his hand. Isn't this usually what couples do in dates on television? Though Lazarus couldn't help but wonder whether Tari knows the weight of such an action, because she still seemed so... innocent. Despite that, Lazarus didn't attempt to pull his hand away, he just let Tari hold on to it.

"Hmm?" he was caught by surprise by the question though. "Favourite flower?" he haven't thought of that before actually, because he don't usually fancy flowers like girls do. "Red roses, I guess?" He replied as he remembered the flowers from the Valentines event before. He thought those were quite pretty. "I know Kyou likes yellow daffodils though!"

Natsuki came up just then. Lazarus felt strangely self conscious and awkward with his hand held by Tariel. But he didn't pull back, although Tariel could probably feel that his hand is wet from sweat.

"Yellow?" Tari asked. So, God liked yellow! Maybe this explained why... "Tari is yellow!"

She pointed to her gold armour, beaming.

"Roses is nice, too," she added. It wouldn't do to only like God's flowers and not those of her friend. "Very soft. Nice smell."

The discussion of flowers was interrupted by the arrival of their host. "Nat-soo-key!" Tari chirped a greeting, waving. "Tari brought friend, Lazrus. Hihi!"

She followed happily after the redhead, looking forward to spending more time out on the balcony. Her hand was still in Lazarus', bringing him along after her. They emerged out on the second floor and Tari let out a delighted sound as she took in the ocean view. "Is so nice, yes?" she asked of Lazarus.

"It's nice to see you both, and if there is anything you need, just call for me," Natsuki smiled, trying to keep her giggles to herself. Lazarus and Tariel made for a rather comely, yet adorable. The signs were there, but she couldn't bring herself to say the words. A first date she mused. She'd have to grill Kyou for details later.

"Tari, I have some Sakura tea if you'd like some. Oh, and Lazarus, please order anything you like from the menu. Since it's been a while since I've seen you both, it's my treat, so don't be too reserved," Natsuki smiled, pushed her glasses up her nose a little bit, trying to to linger too long and interrupt the young love birds. Taking a few steps back, Natsuki gave the raevans a little privacy. "Just ring the button on the table when you are ready to order. I'll pack up some cake for you to bring hom to Kali and Dr. Kyou," she said with a gentle smile before vanishing behind the curtain.

Lazarus was about to reply Tariel just when Natsuki cut into them. So without uttering another word, he was half dragged upstairs to a more opened area. He was slowly adjusting to the feeling of Tariel's hand on his though, he liked the warmth.

"The view is very relaxing." he admitted as he stared at the vast ocean in front of him, breathing in the light sea breeze. A few sparrows were chirping nearby, it was indeed very rare that Lazarus get to see sights like these, being cooped up indoors at Tsu's apartment most of the time. A little more relaxed, a small smile graced his lips as he took a seat opposite of Tariel. He had somehow slipped his hand out of Tariel's when he 'sat' down.

He wasn't very sure what to order though, as he wasn't very big with food. Picking up the menu on the table, he flipped it carefully, looking at the pictures of the drinks and food printed on it. He's clueless at what to order! Kyou would do this better than I do. He thought bitterly.

"What is nice here?" he asked Tariel, looking up at her from the menu. Since she had been here before, maybe she'd know better.

"Hmm, hmm," Tari made thinking noises in response to Lazarus' query. Her lips pursed together. She'd only had the tea last time, no "real" food. Her mother had had something nice though... something that had actually won a compliment from Kali had to be good, right?

"Cakey good," she said. Unknowingly, her baby talk was exactly the same way the Japanese pronounced the word, likely the way Natuski had grown up calling cake. "Mama had... mama had... chocolate, um... dead chocolate cakey?" Her voice rose at the end, not entirely sure she had the name right. Something to do with being dead.

She cocked her head to one side and blinked at her date. "But Lazrus should order what he likes. What Lazrus normally eat? Maybe not like cakey? But Natsookey say everyone like cakey!"

And so, of course, Natsuki must have been telling the truth. She made and sold food after all. She must know everything about it!

At least Lazarus knows Kyou likes cake, although he wasn't bothered to have any, since he really wasn't a foodie person. A first experience might be interesting, some of the cake pictures on the menu does look very nice. And he wasn't bothered much with Tariel's weird baby talk, he actually thinks it's quite cute.

"Dead chocolate cake?" Lazarus raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure about the name?" he supposed cakes can be considered as lifeless, or can be certain forms of death, so he skimmed through the chocolate cake menu just in case, but he didn't see a 'Dead chocolate cake'. "I don't think there's a 'dead chocolate cake' on this menu. Perhaps it was a 'dark chocolate cake'?"

"And to tell the truth, I never ate anything much before." he remembered drinking some water, but not much solid food. "Never tried cake, so this will be my first time." he answered, smiling shyly at Tariel.

Tari clasped her hands together, eyes crinkled almost all the way shut in her happiness. "Tari, too! Tari never has cakey before. So," she reasoned, "Tari and Lazrus' first time is together!"

Perhaps one day Tari would understand how certain things could be taken the wrong way... but that day was not today.

Bending her head, she peered at the menu again, checking the list of cakes. "No dead cakey here? Um... deaf? Deaf by cakey?"

On the menu, one decadent dessert was titled 'Death by Chocolate cake'. Tari's reading and writing were about on par with her speaking, so she had to stare at the words to try and make sense of it. Her eyes went cross-eyed as she stared at the text. "Dett-huh. Dett-huh by chok- by choko-lattey cakey."

She peered up at Lazarus, large eyes blinking, unsure if she was correct. "Yes?"

A shade of red flushed over Lazarus face as Tariel uttered the phrase ' Tari and Lazrus's first time is together', catching the possible sexual connotation in it that Tariel didn't realize. It's just about the cake. Lazarus reminded himself, trying to calm down and make the blush go away, hoping that Tariel wouldn't notice.

"Oh this one?" he tried to direct his eyes away from Tariel and look at the menu again. Hoping that if he don't look at her, she won't see his blush that is fading a little too slowly. He must admit though, he didn't see this one the first time he skimmed through the menu. "No, that was an incorrect pronounciation. It's pronounced as 'death by chocolate cake'." he pronounced the last part a little slower, mouthing the words properly to show Tariel.

Since they had found and decided on a cake, Lazarus thought it was about time they call up Natsuki or any other waitresses to place the order. He press on the button indicating they are ready to order. While they wait for the waitress to arrive, Lazarus took a glance at the drinks section, particularly at the tea, wondering if he should have some too. He heard that tea and cake go well together, he wondered if it's true.
