Eternal Husband Albite

Albite considered himself fashionably late. Just on time *enough* to catch the important bits. Like the speech that'd clear them all to go forth n consume n party the night away. To gaze fondly at Laurels as she was speaking, and be reminded why -- over all the rest -- Lepidolite was a powerhouse of a morale booster. The man was always all about hospitals n schools n infrastructure type bullshit---

This though? A Club?! The Negaverse was building a club....

His face was a brief whiplash of confusion overtaken by '******** yeah' levels of enthusiasm! A club, oooh--- a club was definitely the sort of s**t he could get behind!! He'd never taken the Sovereign for a party general type! Or the aliens, but hell? If it meant less work n more play Albite was all aboard on the concept! <********, m'down for this. C'nsider me volunteering as tribute to try out the club." Albite laughed, bright n brief, scanning the room and catching the group he'd been looking for. Swatting Mira off with a look that said 'go forth, be sexy, and mingle with impunity.' Spotting Ilmari--- and he swept by the Basic in passing, like an orbiting moon being pulled towards a massive sun.

"Marrriii-- lookin' good. Hey, if you end up with too many leftovers?" A nod of where to dump them all, on whatever open space remained at the distant table slowly filling with parts of their team. "Th'best part of havn' a 'tenk'aday or you die' sorta Greater General on y'r side? Is that you never have to worry about leftovers." He purred at the pile of skirts, curls, blond lengths. Hoped that Mari had a good time, that he made friends, that -- and hell? Albite thought, if he saw the boy alone for too long? Maybe he'd find people to shove him at. As all consuming as he wanted his little team-made-family t'be? Never did he want it to be the *only* thing in a person's life!!

"Would you look-- at this stunning group of people!" Brash and vibrant as he joined up with the rest, circled them like he was planning to play a game of duck, duck, goose. Like a proud n loyal hound, almost not quite sure which seat he wanted to plant himself in. If that seat would be a lap -- iffffff ----

"And Borax---" the tease spread thick, the mirth in Albites eyes as he whistled low for seeing Borax finally a General. It was unfair how ******** good rank n file looked on people. On Borax. First it'd been Helio, n now this? It made him glance at Zuzubee with wonder in his eyes. Pinning her in his mind as the next most deserving of Faustites good graces -- a hand in her chest -- more deadly purple flowers pinned around to the chaos that flowed in her every step.

General Lopezite

They didn’t have to wait for long to find out. Before Lopezite could even insist that he didn’t need to pluck food from Alpersite’s plate, Queen Laurelite was speaking.

He didn’t eat while she spoke, out of courtesy and respect, but as soon as she left the stage he was nibbling at his meal again.

Lopezite had free time next Friday so that was an easy yes. “I think I’ll go,” he decided. It wasn’t often that they got invited to help test anything, and though he never seemed driven to go above and beyond, he was still curious.

How could he not be when she was teasing so many things? And, he was a General. He should probably set a good example.

“Do you think you’ll be free?”

Ascended General Haumea

A general hush fell over the room as Haumea heard Laurelite begin to speak. Turning to see, he listened closely, mouth twitching into an amused frown. A club? This entire event was because they were opening a club? Well, all right, fine. A club and new tech that allowed them to do their jobs. But who or what was a Commodore Lyndin? And… reducing the number of starseeds gathered? That was… mildly alarming as someone who needed starseeds as a human would need food. What had been going on while he’d been in the Rift or at the Tower?

Just how long had he been down in the Rift?

Moving swiftly, but gracefully, he headed towards Laurelite, making sure to nod his head or pause long enough for a quick bow to the General Sovereigns he passed. Once near Laurelite, he paused, making sure to be within her line of sight before bowing deeply to her, dreadlocked hair sweeping against the floor.

“My Queen,” he said softly, not wanting to draw too much attention. This was a celebration after all. He had no desire to sully it. “May I have a word?”

Straightening, he felt something like a prickle through his spine and a sort of buzzing (for lack of a better word) in his head. It was a sensation that he hadn’t felt since the dreams of a glorious future where he’d been free to hunt as he pleased. There was another Ascended nearby! Eyes cutting through the room, his notice fell on a senshi with cracked and chaos-seeping skin and dark hair. Not Alkaid. Not Ate either. This was no one he knew from his dreaming memories! How fascinating. Making a mental note to learn more about this new brethren, Haumea committed the face he saw to memory before turning back to his queen with an apologetic smile.

“I’m so sorry, my Queen. I was distracted for a moment,” he said smoothly. All the while, his mind was buzzing and he found himself wondering yet again just how damn long he’d been wandering through the Rift to have missed something so momentous as a new Ascended.

Lt Nacrite

For her part, Nacrite found herself admiring the Queen’s style. Soft spoken, yet commanding. Generous with her praise, but up front about how much work there was still to be done. It was a masterclass in leadership as far as the lieutenant was concerned. Seizing up the glass of water she’d grabbed with her food, Nacrite sipped and listened. Clearly, this was important stuff.

The club in and of itself was fun. She liked the name and wondered if the jellyfish decor here tonight was a sort of nod to the new venture. Or Maybe Laurelite just liked jellyfish. Nacrite wasn’t going to judge. Ah, but the mention of new tech and toys… now that got her attention. Doubtless the tasks mentioned would be a good way to learn more and possibly ingratiate herself with the higher ups. Wild youma couldn’t keep her from volunteering when the time came.

Oh yeah. This was much better than going over the ratings.

General Arsenopyrite

Arseno was in the middle of driving a fork to his mouth so he could eat the pasta that was now stuck on it when he thought he saw someone approaching him through the corner of his eye and found Euchroite, still in her Lieutenant uniform it seemed, having made her way over.

He had been the one to corrupt her but he was still a bit surprised that she had made her way over to him. Perhaps she didn't have many people that she recognized here and gravitated to a familiar face? It was something that he would do at least.

"Euchroite, good to see that you came." He said with a nod, putting his fork down. "How has your time as an Agent been so far?" He noticed that Benitoite had seen him and he gave a nod to the other for now. He would join him later. He looked back at the Lieutenant after listening to the announcement that the Queen made. Clubs, not his style, and he was already working at the Negaverse-operated hospital anyway. Maybe if they needed to bring someone in from the club...

"I hope you're finding your life as an Agent to be what you wanted it to be."

Lt. Euchroite

Euchroite stopped to listen to what Laurelite had to say.

She was intrigued by the new venture and the mention of a prototype that would reduce their need for starseeds. It was a promising development, and she couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement at the prospect of progress within the Negaverse. As Laurelite finished her speech, Euchroite felt a sense of determination welling up inside her. She was ready to contribute to this new endeavor, ready to prove herself as a valuable member of the organization.

She made her way over to Arseno.

Euchroite smiled gratefully at Arseno's acknowledgment. She appreciated his welcoming demeanor and the opportunity to catch up with someone familiar in the midst of all the new information and energy buzzing around her.

"It's been quite the journey," she replied, her gaze momentarily drifting to the bustling crowd gathered in the ballroom. "Every day brings something new, something to learn and adapt to. And now with this new venture on the horizon, it feels like we're on the brink of even more challenges and opportunities."

She paused, considering her next words carefully. "I'm eager to see how I can contribute to this prototype project. Anything that can help our cause and reduce our reliance on starseeds is worth pursuing. What about you, Arseno? How do you feel about this new development?"

General Chalcanthite

Making another round, he noticed another of his team and took a moment to check on them. It was odd because he had known there was supposed to be a second person to the set but things had been distant. He needed to look into it if he wanted to make sure they continued to work well for the Negaverse but there were other matters he'd been looking into with his crystals.

Walking over as Laurelite's announcement came through, he smiled and almost shook his head. So that was why Desiree had been out more than normal, even more than he knew she would be to bother Benitoite with her little game of cat and general. How long she could continue to fool them into thinking she was just a normal agent or senshi was beyond him but he did enjoy standing back and watching it all unfold. The full details had been left out but she'd assured him that it might help keep that distasteful need for starseeding to a minimum. Of course, when needed he would do it again but he'd rather the need not arise.

"Londonite, are you alright this evening? Perhaps the opening of a venue might be a good opportunity for you to get a bit of experience working with others?" Careful not to lean as he spoke, he kept his eyes away from the wine glasses that seemed to be appearing as more people socialized. It made that damned itch picked up at the back of his throat and he gently ran his thumb over the inside of his engagement ring to try not to think about it.

Eternal Coprrupt Miyamoto

Having sucessfully gotten himself a drink, with no one bothering him, he took a moment to look about at everyone gathered. There were a lot of people, many he'd never seen before, but the place was becoming rather packed. Not one for socializing, he really was not a people person, Miyamoto had to remind himself that he was here for whatever announcment was to be made. Something was going to happen and he wanted to be here to know first hand, it also might not look good if he was missing from this gathering.

Finding himself a table towards the out edges of the the room he sat himself down, his back to a wall, and let his thoughts wander was he sipped on the glass of water he'd gotten for himself. When their Queen did make her appearence, having not known that she'd already been in the room and had left for a while, his attention was right on her and only her. Listening as he sat forward in his seat, taking in what she was saying, he felt himself slump in his seat. A club...a ******** club. Great. That meant lots of noise and music, loud music, and he really didn't like the sound of that at all. "********." Cursing softly, under his breath, a foot tapped on the floor in agitation. He could go, he really should, but damn it if he wasn't likely to pay the price for it afterwards.

But it would help...it was a mission. Just like that trip into space...which had almost killed him when he'd round up drifting in space. He might just ask Lorcan for his opinion on the matter, since he was a doctor, he was sure to get a professional opinion and not one that was swayed by feelings of any sort. Anotehr sip of his drink and he was leaning back in his seat. It was the best he could figure right now. He'd have to see what he decided to do...get a professional opinion and go with it.

Lieutenant Londonite.

Chalcanthite hadn't been around, he could only assume they'd arrived early for whatever was going on, but Akito hadn't been able to get himself free in order to arrive early. So instead of getting his general to take him to whatever was going on, some sort of announcment, he'd found someone else to bring him. His husband was busy, and thus unable to attend, so he'd be filling him in on things once they were both together.

Surprise flashed across his features for a moment as Chalcanthite appeared beside him, but the look vanished quickly enough, and he was nodding his head. "Yeah, I'm good. I had to find someone to bring me here but I was able to make it." Flashing the otehr a smile, a bit too bright and bit more teeth than needed. But the announcment of a club soudned good - it sounded perfect. It was right up his alley in fact...but with his husband potentially being involved as well....well that might put a damper on things. His other half was in fact his better half...the one who kept him from doing things he really shouldn't. They also never liked when he went to clubs.

"It could be good for that, yeah, it also would be a good way to grab energy." Without a doubt it seemed like a good idea. "What about you? Will you be there as well General?"

Lieutenant Jasper

Jasper took a few more bites of food. He wasn’t normally the social type, often relying on friends to carry most of the conversations he took part in, but since neither of them were there at the moment he supposed he’d have to figure out a way to navigate things on his own.

Not that the Eternal Senshi was all that talkative. Jasper was grateful for it, eyeing him with vague curiosity without outright staring. He wondered at his rank, how someone who seemed so quiet and unobtrusive had reached the level of commanding other agents.

It would probably be rude to ask, so Jasper satisfied himself with, “How long have you been doing this?”

General King Axinite

Axinite had been patient during Laurelite’s commentary, and he waited until she was stepping off the stage before he returned his attention to Jet and Aquamarine. He offered a polite smile, and didn’t seem to mind Aqua shifting conversations quickly.

What was he going to say, that he wasn’t much for the club life? He suspected he’d be helping manage things behind the scenes, anyway. He wasn’t complaining.

“You could probably convince her,” he suggested. “There are certainly a number of ways to appeal to her. She’s been in a very good mood recently, you might not even need the wine.”

His tablet pen stayed tucked away; even though he had the opportunity to pull it out and sneak a bit of work in while Laurelite was talking, he controlled himself. He smiled politely at Jet, like maybe he really would take him up on that offer.

Or, maybe he was just encouraging Jet to see if he could get Laurelite to dance, too.

General Chalcanthite

"I apologize for not bringing you, I cut things quite close with my other responsibilities before this." Always a struggle to balance things and he knew Liam was most displeased by it but he didn't really like it any other way. Staying busy and taking on more projects had become the new habit and he felt that they much preferred it over the bottle he'd been drowned it.

That was the question of the hour now wasn't it, he was already having a hard time here with just wine nearby but a club... That on top of the fact this would be something public as a civilian and he had an appearance to keep up. It wasn't good to let that slip to his lieutenant though so he would have to figure out how to handle it.

"Any mission from our Queen is a mission I shall be in attendance for." It would be good to get them to show up more because they hadn't attended the event up in space and he needed more of his team to cooperate if he was going to be pulling something similar off in the future. This would be a learning experience and perhaps something that may make his own future ventures pan out a bit better.

"Yes, it will be good for you to attend all around. Now if your other half can come as well that would be ideal but if you need any assistance I will do what I can while keeping up with what is required."
That and keeping out of sight as best as he could. He already felt ancient at the notion that his lieutenant seemed to be the type of college student who went to such places. It might be time to check for another few greys after all this but the other matter was that Brassite was too young to attend such an event. She could use experience working in a team as well but this was... not the right venue for that.

Eternal Kamacite

Kamacite glanced up at the Lieutenant, not sure where his question came from. He didn’t want to be rude, but it took him a little while to think about it. It felt like a lifetime ago that he’d just been some normal teenager, trying to go to college and get away from his family.

“About seven years,” he said, his voice soft but still loud enough to be heard across the table. He was picking at the food on his plate, feeling self conscious about whatever the Lieutenant needed that information for.

Maybe he was just making polite conversation?

“Have you been doing this long?” he asked, because while he wanted to be polite, he was curious. He still felt bad about almost draining his energy that one night.

Lieutenant Londonite.

"It's alright, I found a way here and that's what matters. Hayate got stuck at home working on something." Something which could not be avoided, like much in their lives, every bit of work they did brought in much needed money for the pair. They were struggling but it would pay off in the end, they both knew it, and neither were the sort to go complaining about their situation to others. It was a situation they had walked into knowingly and had still done it - together.

"I'll be there, I'll make sure of it." He'd find a way, clear his evening, and try and get his husband to come as well. If work called however, if something still needed to be done, however he couldn't stop his partner. Could he even stop himself though? They really were in no posistion to not work, they had little choice. Pushing the thoughts aside, they were too depressing, Akito focused on the better things - on the mission coming up.

"I'll see about making sure Hayate is there as well." He'd do his best but he wouldn't make a promise he wasn't sure he could keep, he wasn't like that. "I suppose being a general is proof to the loyalty...so I'm not surprised you'll be there, even though I don't see clubs as your sort of place."

Lieutenant Jasper

Jasper paused eating to think about it. How long had he been…? Somehow he’d already lost track of the time. (Maybe not all that surprising, considering how the days tended to blend together and he was in the habit of forgetting which day was what.)

“Maybe two years,” he said.

He took another bite and chewed slowly. Two years seemed like a relatively short period of time, unless one considered how quickly promotions could happen around here. He knew Roselite had been promoted in less time. And Roselite’s friend Cymophane had reached Eternal within a year or so.

Jasper wondered if he should be embarrassed that he was still a Lieutenant.

He decided he wasn’t. He knew who was likely to blame for it.

“Seven years is impressive,” he said, going back to his food.

Captain Alpersite

Alpersite listened, slowly chewing his mouthful of food, eyes locked on Laurelite and an excited smile beginning to spread across his face.

This…sounded fun. And kind of cool and…though the idea of energy siphoning objects made him pause…wonder if there would ever come a time where they as agents would no longer be useful for things if…objects took over…It was a worrisome thought that was not really a new one. Normal people were concerned with robots taking over their jobs…doing the work that people could do for a fraction of the cost, with a lot less worry for accidents or incidents…

The Negaverse was paying now…what if that was their goal? Phasing out the workforce in favor of chaotic objects? It…made his stomach squirm just a bit. Still.

Lopezite looked excited and Alpersite pushed his worries down where he could no longer feel them and grinned. “Yeah. Of course I’ll be free. It sounds like the perfect Friday night date if you ask me. I want to see this place. It sounds…interesting.”

…Energy draining items wouldn’t ever have the risk of defecting. Energy draining items just…existed and did what they had to. They wouldn’t miss a quota or not bother to do their work.

He pushed the pile of macaroni and cheese around and then stabbed a few noodles with his fork. “I can take Friday off if you want to hang out before hand. It’s been…mostly quiet at work. Luckily the damages after Star Festival have been all taken care of. I’m. So looking forward to the next…issues that decide to plague us.”

Alpersite didn’t doubt that they were coming but…he sincerely hoped that they wouldn’t be coming from within the ranks of the Negaverse.

It would be just his luck to be replaced by a…random energy draining toy car. Maybe…he should use this worry to become…a bit more focused on his goals…

Show them that he wasn’t replaceable.
