A Late Night

After the battle of sorts with Yaholo, one that had ended up turning into a mud wrestling match, Rilind was feeling so much better. Sure, he'd been a rather awful mess after everything was over but it was more then worth it. After the 'battle' the two of them had gone to get a bath in the nearby river, then other activities had ensued. After all of it his mood was far more mellow, a good thing given everything that was going on in the world around them. There was that part of him that wanted to be angry at the Alkidike women, wanted to hate them, but he knew that he couldn't. Well, he could be angry that much was his right, but he couldn't very well hate them when some of them were sisters and friends to Yaholo. It was because of Yaholo that Rilind was being as kind as he was.

At least his version of kind? He couldn't really say that he was being a saint of any sort given that he had called those women in the marketplace 'hags' after all. He was more then ready at the time to get into a fight with them, to take a few swings, and to see if he couldn't very well knock one of them out. Better then him wanting to go all out, swords drawn, doing far more then just leaving them with bruises. Not that he'd exactly had the chance to do so, huh? No matter what sort of fight he'd wanted then he hadn't gotten it, the villagers had instead stepped in, helping him out, but it had left him with far too much energy. Luckily for him he had Yaholo to help him when it came to burning off all the excess energy that he really hadn't needed, energy that had left him on edge.

Yaholo really was a good man, one that Rilind was pretty sure he didn't deserve. Not that he'd tell Yaholo that since Rilind doubting himself was something that bothered Yaholo to no end. In this matter though it wasn't so much self doubt though as much as it was looking upon his lover in with such a shining light, as though Chi had aided Aisha in bringing him into Rilind's life. After that to be blessed with children, something that Rilind had never thought that he would have. The idea of having his own children, it had been a terrifying though, still was in fact. He wanted to be a good parent, better then his own had been, and raise his children to be happy. He would do anything to aid in them being able to grow up happy and strong, even if it meant raising his swords against those who would threaten them. Of course that desire sort of left him walking a tenuous line. He wanted to fight his hardest to protect his babies but at the same time he didn't want to raise his sword against those who were Yaholo's sisters.

Here was to hoping that bringing the family to Tale would turn out well, that it would keep the babies safe and keep Rilind from having to fight. It wasn't as though it was only the triplets that he wanted to protect though, in fact he was more then ready to raise his blade against anyone that threatened Yaholo as well. Rilind could care less that Yaholo was a big man, one that could easily protect himself, he still wanted to keep him safe as well.

Turning to look over at Yaholo, who was currently sleeping in the bed that Rilind was sitting on, he gave a bit of a smile. Shifting himself he leaned over, pressing a kiss to the bigger man's forehead before he got up. He wanted to go check on the boys, make sure that they were all alright, that they were all sleeping comfortably, the older two included. Only after he checked in on all of them did he feel as though he might be able to actually lay down for a bit of rest. Samoset and Kennet weren't his children, not like the triplets, but it didn't mean that he didn't want to keep them safe as well. It was those two that he checked on first, peeking into their room, looking from one to the other, watching long enough to make sure they were breathing easily, before closing the door again.

After that he was heading across the hall to the room where the trio were sleeping, peeking in on them. The three of them were tangled up in the blankets and curled up like a litter of witu pups, seeming to be sleeping soundly. He moved forward silently, leaning over them to check on them, making sure they were all resting easily as well. He soothed a hand over each of their hair, a smile on his lips, before giving each of the sleeping triplets a kiss as well. With that he was on moved to inspecting the rest of the house, checking the windows and doors, making sure that nobody or nothing had gotten in. Everything seemed alright, no threats trying to kick in their doors, he should be able to sleep he thought to himself.

After another once around the house he he finally headed back toward his own room, climbing back into bed with his lover. It seemed as though it should be alright now for him to settle down. Everyone in the house was safe and sleeping easily, which meant that he should be able to sleep himself. As he laid back he starred up at the ceiling for a moment, then rolled over onto his side, facing the boys. As he thought about it he found himself wondering if perhaps they should get a pet for the boys? Something big, with sharp teeth, and a protective streak, something that could sleep in their room and aid then in looking after the boys in the dead of the night. He'd talk to Yaholo about it in the morning he thought to himself as he let his eyes sink closed. More layers of protection couldn't hurt he thought to himself as he scooted closer to Yaholo, curling up to his side, and finally let himself sink into sleep.
