Yaholo couldn't remember a time where he felt as nervous as he did at this very moment, except for maybe when he was first introduced to his elders as Prentice. He did his best to hide it beneath his usual broad grin and optimism, but couldn't help but feel that it glowed right through regardless. Maybe it was because it was early in the day and he'd been sitting up planning this all night? Or was it simply because he was taking Rilind on one of the most important journeys of their lives? They were going to see Aisha, the Great Mother, and all he could think about was all the things that could happen along the way.

He found himself sighing as they neared the beach, where he'd agreed to meet his Sister, Rishima, a few days earlier. Rishima was going to be their escort and companion on this journey, a thought that made Yaholo both happy and anxious. What would Rilind think about having another man joining them for the journey? Would he be nervous or accepting? He pursed his lips and glanced about, before turning to look back at Rilind.

"We'll meet Rishima here, Ril." He explained, before motioning across at the Isles before them. "You see those Isles there? The one furthest to the right is where Mother Aisha is. It'll be a long journey, but well worth the effort."

Rilind glanced toward Yaholo, giving him a nod as he explained that this was the place that they would be meeting with the one called Rishima. It was something that had him a bit on edge, something that could be seen from the way that he was chewing on his nails. There was a part of him that worried that Yaholo's sister would take one look at him and refuse to take him along, just for the mere fact that he was an earthling. What if he wasn't allowed near Aisha even with an escort and Yaholo there to vouch for him? It was something that set his heart to thudding that much more. He hated this, hated feeling so nervous, it was as though he expected it to be a battalion of the Dretch that were going to appear and attack him. It wasn't that though, it was a friend of Yaholo, someone that he trusted so maybe Rilind should attempt to trust her as well?

He sighed and set to chewing on one of his thumb nails to distract himself, at least until the sound of something jingling caught his attention. HIs hand went to his the weapon at his side and he turned toward the sound... and his eyes went rather wide at the sight of the one coming toward them. He glanced at the dark skinned halfbreed before them, toward Yaholo then back again before he said, "You never said that we were meeting with a man like that." He said, unable to help but to be surprised. Not only a male but one of mixed blood? Had Yaholo done this on purpose? Had he gotten them a guide that would better understand the situation? Wait, he was half Shifter, right? How was it that he was a guide that could help them reach Aisha? A million questions went through Rilinds mind, none of them coming out, not yet at least, as he was still sort of struggling to process them all.

*****

Rilind glanced at the Earthling that was standing at Yaholo's side, head tilting to one side, "Hmmm, you look somewhat familiar." He mused, wondering if he'd seen him before at some point. After a moment of trying to recall though he ended up waving the thought aside. If he'd seen him before it hadn't been recently, therefore the one before him might not even remember Rishima. Turning to look at Yaholo he couldn't help but to give a little laugh, "He was expecting one of our full blooded sisters, I see? It's alright though, I seem to get that a lot." Something he couldn't help but to give a little chuckle about. Given that even one of his sisters, one that he cared greatly for, was expecting him to be both of full blood and female, so this was actually kind of funny to him.

"I hope that the two of you are prepared? It's going to take some time to get there since we will be stopping by Amara first." He said, glancing between the pair before he said, "Once we arrive on the shores of Amara I am going to have to ask for your friend's weapons, Yaholo." He saw the way that the redhead tensed and he said, "Call it a show of faith, to prove you mean no harm to the sisters or Aisha. It's a big deal to allow an outsider in our midst and there is no way that one would be allowed anywhere near Mother Aisha if they were armed, pleased understand."

Giving a soft sigh he added, "I won't allow him any further then this beach if the he refuses to give up his weapons. It's up to the two of you though, I won't take them from him."

"Rishima!" Yaholo greeted, his posture relaxing. It felt good to see his Sister again, espescially since their last meeting had been before Samoset and Kennet were born. Sharing another exciting experience with someone as familiar as Rishima was pleasant and comforting to him. Maybe Rishima would like to come back to the house for a meal after this? He looked to Rilind at this thought and pursed his lips. Perhaps another time.

"Give up his weapons? Uuuuhhh..." The Brute paused, his eyes growing slightly wide. He knew that it would be difficult to get Rilind to release his weapons, but if he wanted to take him on this journey, he'd have to try something. He turned to the side, glanced over to the isles, and put on his best begging face.

"You'll be perfectly safe, Ril." He said, making a mock pout. "I can carry them in my holster for you, if you would prefer that instead."

His gaze went to Rishima as he finished his sentence, in hopes that Amazon would grant him the permission.

Rilind's entire body tensed up at the mention of giving up his weapons, his hands instantly falling to where they hung at his sides. The idea of giving them up, it was preposterous, didn't this man know how dangerous the world was? He couldn't be caught off guard with any weapons! The mere idea was enough to send his heart thudding in his chest, nerves instantly threatening to get the better of him. What should he do? He couldn't give up his weapons, could he? At the same time if he didn't give up the weapons they wouldn't get any further then the beach, meaning they wouldn't make it to Aisha. There was that part of Rilind that wanted to refuse, to retreat, and then regroup with Yaholo to figure out a different plan to get to Aisha. It was a foolish idea though, having an escort would make everything so much easier after all.

Turning to look toward Yaholo as he spoke up he gave him a long look as he reassured Ril that he'd be safe and that he'd carry the twins swords for him. At least his weapons would be on hand if something were to happen, right? It would still leave him unarmed for the most part but the weapons would be there in case he really needed them. It was something that had his thoughts whirling before he sighed, "I will give them to Yaholo but I won't give them up completely, if something happens I need to be able to access them. I can't fight everything off barehanded." In fact that was a rather terrifying prospect, one he didn't want to deal with.

*****

The manner in which Rilind's hands went to his weapons made Rishima wonder if the redhead actually meant to pick a fight with him? It was something that had his hand momentarily tightening on his spear... but it seemed as though the man wasn't going to make a move. Instead he seemed to be lost in deep thought over the fact that he was to give up his weapons before he went to meet with Aisha alongside Yaholo. Looking back at his 'sister' he said, "Hm, you carry them? I don't see why not, though only until we reach Mother Aisha. Weapons aren't needed in her presence after all. Once we arrive I can see to it your weapons are look after while the two of you visit Aisha, then you can have them when you are done." Just to be safe he thought to himself. It wasn't that he didn't trust this particular Earthling, it's that they had to be careful with all those who would visit Aisha.

When it seemed that Rilind would relent he gave a nod, "Good, once we reach the shores of Amara you are to hand your weapons over to Yaholo. He's trusted by our sisters so he is the perfect person to carry them for you." Turning around, Rishima started toward the boat that was awaiting the three of them, the various things in his hair jingling as he went.

Yaholo felt the nerves inside of him melt away again as Rilind agreed. Oh, thank goodness, for a minute there, he thought he'd need to break up a fight! He sighed and smiled at Rilind before turning his gaze to Rishima, a thankful look in his eyes. He hoped that the journey would go smoothly from here on out, because if not, he might just find himself having a chat with the elders. He hated having to explain things to them, he'd done it enough when he was younger. He didn't want to have to be that apologetic little boy anymore.

"I'm trusted, really?" He blurted out, his face flushing red. "Uh, not that I think I'm not trustworthy, just... You know how harsh our Sister's convictions can be, Rishima. I never thought they'd even value me as anything when I was younger, now I'm someone they trust..."

He paused to take a breath and put his arm around Rilind, a smile returning to his face.

"So, shall we go?" He asked, giving his head a tilt. "Are we crossing by boat or on foot?"

Rilind lifted a hand to rub it against his temples, taking in the manner in which Yaholo looked so relieved. It seemed that this was going to be harder then he'd first thought, having to follow many rules put down by this particular tribe and told to him by this escort of theirs. Still, if something so simple as Rilind behaving himself put Yaholo in a good mood then he'd do his best to behave. He could do this, all he had to do was remain calm, he'd put his money on that being the most important thing because it would keep all strong emotions like anger and fear at bay, so that he could better deal with everything that the journey would require.

At the exchange over Yaholo being a trustworthy person Rilind gave a snort, "Of course you are." He muttered, if this tribe didn't see that then they were blind. Even as he said the words though he realized that getting bent out of shape over Yaholo's status in the tribe wouldn't do either. Calm, he told himself he had to stay calm. This was for Yaholo more then it was for Ril himself, this was important to him, and he could do this!

"Yeah, let's get going." The sooner they started on their journey the sooner that they could get there, chat with Aisha, and leave. It would likely be the only time in his life where he could chat up a tree and not look like a crazy person.

*****

Rishima's antennae gave a little twitch as he turned to look over at Yaholo, "There will always be dissension in the ranks here and there, but those like us will prove that such people, such thoughts are old fashion and should change with the times." He explained, walking along the beach toward where the boat waited, "It will be up to the generations to come to drive things home even further." He told him, wanting nothing more then to pat him on the shoulder to reassure him that it would be alright... but given the looks that Yaholo was exchanging with the redhead he'd guess that doing so might cause the redhead to come at him. Last thing he wanted to do was to rile the couple up.

"Here we are." He said, motioning to the boat, "Rilind, if you want to hop in first, then Yaholo can help me push the boat into the water and we can be on our way." He turned to glance at Yaholo then, giving him a smile, "Since you get an official escort you also get a boat ride over, no more swimming your way to visit Aisha so long as I can lend a hand."

Yaholo lit up at the sight of the boat. They wouldn't be swimming? Oh, thank goodness, it was still too cold to go swimming right now! He didn't want to be shivering all the way over to Aisha! He smiled, sincerely, and bent down to give Ril a quick kiss on the cheek, before leading him over to the boat.

"You just settle in the boat with Rishi and I'll join you in just a minute." He said, stepping back towards the sand again. "Alright, after you, Rishima! I'm very excited to get this journey started!"

Rilind hesitated a moment, starring out across the expanse of water, before slowly climbing into the boat. When... when was the last time he'd gotten near so much water? When did he last actually swim? His mind reeled a moment when he realized that it wasn't since Natsu had first showed him now. That was ages ago, not to mention once, was that a skill a person retained or would he sink like a rock? Not something he liked the thought of as he sat down on one of the boat's seats, hands first resting on the seat to either side of himself before curling around it, holding tight as the boat started to get pushed into the water.

His green eyed gaze was locked on the bottom of the boat, as though in doing so, and not looking anywhere else that he wouldn't have to worry about the water that would soon be surrounding him. Here was to hoping that Yaholo and Rishima were better swimmers and could help him were anything to happen to the boat. His whole body tensed that much more when he felt the boat lose its hold on the land, sitting now in a free floating manner, and he glanced over toward Yaholo, giving him a silent look that screamed 'get in the boat now' quite loudly.

*****

Rishima waited, a hand on the side of the boat after it was pushed in, giving his first passenger a look before his attention turned to Yaholo, "Hop in, sister, I will get in after you, then we can set to rowing toward Amara." He told him, giving him a smile. The fact that Rilind seemed to be so tense meant that Yaholo aught to get in first to tend to him. Rishima knew that he'd be in a rush to do so were it him bringing Gerraden to meet Aisha. He'd want to comfort him as well were he to get spooked, though he wasn't sure if that was something Gerr might do, he was a tough sort after all.

Giving a half shrug he moved to joining the pair in the small boat, setting his spear down before he took up the oars instead, "Is everyone ready? If so we will start the journey across." He said, then quickly added, "Be warned that other sisters are waiting on the other side, those that will be keeping an added eye on the group while we cross Amara, just in case." They could never be too careful with an outsider.

Yaholo could feel Rilind's gaze upon him as he moved to stand with Rishima and felt relieved when his Sister allowed him to get into the boat before him. This journey was about Rilind meeting Aisha and getting him to be comfortable was Yaholo's top priority at the moment, everything else didn't matter. He smiled and paid Rishi a nod before settling himself into the boat and looping an arm around Rilind's shoulder.

"It's okaaaay, don't worry. I'm here." He whispered, hoping to soothe his lover just a little bit.

His attention turned to Rishima, briefly, as he took the oars and spoke of the Sisters on the other side. Again, he nodded, with more of an affirmation than anything else, and gave Rilind a snug.

"I'm well prepared, Rishima." He replied. "I assure you that there will be no trouble from us, but I know that my assurance only means so much."

*giggles to self*

Rilind gave a sighing sound, turning his attention toward Yaholo when the man came to sit next to him, before he leaned against him, "Sorry, I know that I am being troublesome again." He murmured, quietly, hoping that only Yaholo would hear him, "I was only shown the basics of swimming on one occasion and all this water is making me think that wasn't enough." Not nearly enough, he was relying on a wooden boat to keep him safe from drowning... well, that and the two half Alkidike at least. He hoped that the boat would hold though, not caring at all for the idea of going into the water.

His attention went from Yaholo to Rishima, starring up at him for a moment, before he said, "We aren't going to make trouble, we just want to go and meet with Aisha, that's it." He didn't want him getting any weird ideas in his head thinking that he was sneaking onto the island to cause some sort of trouble. As though short Rilind alone could cause any sort of damage to an island full of super tall warrior women. The chances of it were less then zero if he wanted to, which he didn't. Of course his attempt at protesting only made things worse though and what Rishima said next made Rilind give a choked sound before he turned the same shade of red as his hair.

*****

"Going to visit Aisha?" Rishima murmured, thinking on it a moment, his antennae giving a twitch, before asked in a curious manner, "So the two of you are going to go and see if she hears your pleas? It will give our little sisters Kadriye and Aselia more lotuses to look after, but I am sure that they will be happy with such a task. I wish you luck."

He started to row then, taking in Rilind's blush, before giving him a smile, "Don't worry, I am sure things will go well! Aisha already blessed Yaholo with twin blossoms meaning she loves him dearly and trusts him. I am sure things will go smoothly and you will see a little one of your own. They will be quite the colorful little sister given the look of the two of you." He said, giving a little chuckle, oblivious to the fact that he embarrassing poor Rilind more then anything.

Yaholo made a soft purring sound as Rilind leaned against him and snuggled the smaller man closer to his side. Why was Rilind so concerned about not being able to swim? They were in a boat and didn't need to swim. Was he just embarrassed about not knowing how? He leaned over to give Rilind a kiss on the forehead before slowly turning his head toward Rishima.

"Oh, Rishi, ah uh erm..." He stammered, a blush of his own rushing to his cheeks. "We... We don't intend to plea, this is a visit so Aisha can be acquainted with Rilind. I mean..." He paused, his gaze falling to Rilind. "If Aisha were to find us worthy while we're there, I can tell you there would be no protest about it, but if not, I just want her to know Rilind. You know... Mother meets son-in-law, sort of."

He chuckled and twiddled with his fingers a little, before giving Rishima a smile.

"Sooo, Aselia? Who's that?" He asked, hoping a change of subject would lighten the mood. "Was a new mystic born?"

Rilind was unable to find any words as Yaholo's friend went down the wrong path as far as the reason that they were going to visit with Aisha. There was a part of him that felt that he should deny what he was saying... and yet there was that part of him, however small, that didn't want to. What if he denied his interest and Aisha heard? He didn't want to mess up the opportunity, instead he merely nodded along with what Yaholo was saying. If she found them worthy during their visit, good, if not then he understood. If nothing else at least it would appear as though Yaholo's feathers had been ruffled too, he was even blushing, which was kind of cute. A thought that Rilind shoved aside though, feeling that it wasn't quite right to call someone like Yaholo cute given that he was far bigger and more heavily muscular then Rilind himself was.

As Yaholo found interest in the one named Aselia he found himself looking up at Yaholo first, then over at Rishima, and back again. Mystic...? What was a mystic? It sounded rather important and from the sounds of it he'd guess that it was, what, some sort of magic user? He couldn't help but to be curious so he leaned forward just a bit, wanting to listen in, feeling as though he'd be learning more about the tribe that Yaholo and Rishima came from this way.

*****

His antennae twitching a bit, cheeks a little flushed, Rishima quickly said, "My apologies. I misunderstood the situation. I figured that since you were bringing your partner to visit with Aisha that you would, um, be..." He trained off, waving a hand, seeming to be unable to find the right words. It all sounded a little bad since it mostly boiled down to 'I thought you were bringing your Earthling lover to Aisha to get babies'.

Shaking his head he concentrated on what Yaholo was saying before giving a smile, "That sounds nice though, bringing him to meet with Aisha." It was strange, for them just to be visiting for the sake of visiting, but at the same time the fact that an Earthling had an interest in Aisha that was of purehearted reasons was a good thing. Better then those who might want to harm her and through her harm the Alkidike as a whole. Giving a smile he said, "I hope your meeting with Aisha goes in the way that will make you both the happiest."

"Eh? Oh! Yes..." He glanced over at Rilind, looking thoughtful as he took in the curious look on the redhead's face. He wasn't sure how much he should say, not wanting to put Aselia at risk when it came to outsider. Yaholo seemed to care greatly for him but Rishima had to think about what was best for their tribe, "She is a sweet girl, you may run into her when you go and meet with Aisha." There we go, that answered the question but didn't really put any sensitive information out there.

Yaholo nodded slowly as Rishima spoke, almost as if he were trying to convey that he wasn't exactly firm with his words. Honestly, he wished they were going to Aisha to plea. He thought they were ready, but Rilind... Well, Rilind was skeptical of himself, and Yaholo understood that. However, if Aisha were to listen to them and decide they were worthy while they were there, it would be of no protest. Any blessings from Aisha would be loved and taken care of, Yaholo was sure of that. He looked to Rilind and smiled.

"Oh, right." He said, suddenly remembering Rilind's lack of knowledge on Aisha. "Mystics are... The caretakers of lotuses and Aisha's voice of sort..." His eyes went to Rishi as he spoke, obviously looking for some sort of confirmation. "I think there are three now, right? Eshe, Kadriye, and Aselia?"
PostPosted: Wed Mar 11, 2015 3:01 pm

Rilind looked between Rishima and Yaholo, listening to them talk for a time about the mystics, finding what he heard to be interesting enough before he looked toward the direction of the islands, finding them to be getting closer and closer which was starting to make his heart thud in his chest. He knew from what they had both said that they had to cross Amara to get to the second island where Aisha lived, but still just the fact that they were nearly to the first of the islands was still enough to get his heart thudding.

"Almost there, Yaholo." He said, clutching onto his arm, as he watched the island getting closer and closer, something that seemed to rile him up that much more. He knew it wasn't a bad thing, going here, though he doubted he'd be exactly welcome. He had an escort for a reason, one that was taking his weapons away from the same reason, he was an outsider after all. Yaholo and Ril wouldn't be alone until they left the islands and were back on the beach again, which was a little awkward but something that he knew was necessary.

*****

Rishima nodded, "They have many tasks but serving the great mother and taking care of the lotuses until they are ready to bloom are some of their main jobs." He said after a moment of thought. He had been wanting to keep such information hush hush but it would appear as though Yaholo trusted Rilind that much, so he felt that it would be alright to nod.

Glancing over at Rilind he said, "If Aisha grants a plea for a lotus the flower stays with the great mother until the time it blooms and reveals the little one inside. It takes time, so even if your plea is granted it is not as though you take the little one home the same day." He explained, not sure if the redhead knew that there was a sort of waiting period before he would become a parent even if Aisha saw fit to give them a lotus of their own. Little ones needed a chance to grow after all, as much as they needed so that they didn't have another situation like that Aselia went through when she was tiny.

Giving a smile Rishima said, "Yes, almost there. Once we arrive be sure to stay close to us at all times, no wandering off alone or you may be seen as an invader." He warned Rilind, glancing at Yaholo, wanting to make sure he understood as well that Rilind would need to be looked after while on the Chibale Isles since he was an outsider.

Yaholo nodded again and gave Rilind a comforting snuggle. Yes, they were almost to the first part of their journey, Isle Amara. The thought brought a little last minute nerves up from the depths of his chest, which he quickly dismissed, not wanting to tense up and make Rilind more nervous. Still, though, they were on a very big journey. This wasn't going to be easy, he knew that. He had to hide in the trees the last time he came through the isles, which was years and years ago. He paused, marveling at how fast time had gone and how fast his twins had grown, and sighed.

"Even so, remember when I would travel across each day to visit my pair?" He said, laughing. "I was so nervous about something happening, I couldn't help it. They were precious to me, and they still are. Have you met either of them yet, Rishi? My boys, that is."

He gave Rilind another squeeze as Rishima reminded him again of what they might face across the isles and smiled. He knew that Rishima was only trying to cover all the bases needed, but Rilind might interpret his words differently. Yaholo knew his Rilind and knew that he'd never do anything to hurt anyone unless he felt threatened, and that was perfectly reasonable. However, he had no reason to be afraid while he was with him. Everything would be fine.
