Battle - So it was you Sassolite, on receiving a report from the defeated and battered Painite, strikes out to find the Senshi who did so much damage to her subordinate. Unfortunately for Regulus, she's also one of the few in the negaverse with a ranged weapon.... ((it died, Jim. Needs replaced in the count))

[Meta-Battle]- R.E.M Following another mass Senshi meeting, the Senshi are brought to Elysium by ChibiMoon, seeking a new and safe place for them to meet, but the serenity of the dream realm is shattered when... somehow... the Negaverse arrives. The War for Elysium has begun, and there's already a body count. Most of the Basterds are seriously injured, including Regulus, who walks away with one of Sassolites arrows in his shoulder, among other injuries.

Solo: "Can't Win for Loosing" -1238 words
He’d heard an expression once that seemed to fit the situation. The phrase was “I can’t win for loosing.”
Jaimie Leontyne was pretty sure he couldn’t win for loosing right now. He sat on his bed at Hillworth, surrounded by newspaper listings and print-outs for apartments and jobs both, turning a silvery band over and over in his hand. Every time it turned, the set of small diamonds, decreasing in size like the tail of a comet, flashed white and cold.
They looked like ice, which was appropriate. Everything lately had left him feeling a little cold.
He’d been dating the same girl for… well longer than he figured he’d ever dated anyone, and… now they weren’t. On a gut level, he knew he’d made the right decision, since every time the stones and white gold flashed, he saw the look on her face in the snow fall. She hadn’t been happy, she hadn’t been happy at all, she’d been repulsed.
Selling the ring would go a long way toward getting a deposit on an apartment, which was good, he’d need someplace to live while he worked and went to university… he was just hoping he could separate the apartment from her, since he couldn’t separate the ring from that moment, that look
Turn and flash, turn and flash.
He’d let himself enjoy the illusion that maybe they were predestined, since he’d seen glimpses of her while visiting Regulus, but now he remembered she didn’t like the idea of predestination. Hell the more he thought about it the more he wasn’t sure she’d ever liked HIM rather than some… idea of him that he didn’t understand. Maybe she’d always envisioned a future where he’d trot along by her side, have occasional sex and applaud her inevitable success at her chosen profession, and probably convert to vegetarianism.
Maybe. He didn’t know… he didn’t know at all, he was just trying to make up things to make himself feel emotionally that he’d made the right decision, the way he knew cognitively that he’d made the right decision.
“…Angus freaking Godzilla Cowden knows I’m a senshi because of you.” He pointed out to the ring, in a slightly accusatory tone. “…My Own parents don’t know that.”
He’d made the right decision. They weren’t a Cinderella story, or a Princess Di story, they were just another pair of awkward teenagers that didn’t work out because they’d both been in love with something other than each other. They’d just been in love with the ideas they’d constructed for each other.
The entire conversation was still echoing in the back of his head but he refused to think about that, though he couldn’t help but wonder what the rest of the Basterds would think. Since they’d probably speak to her first, or at least, in his imagination they did, he assumed that they’d be angry with him for being selfish, obnoxious and cruel. For being such a ‘Typical MAN.’
There would be rumors, angry mutters passed around to console hurt feelings, he imagined, and it would be excused that she was MUCH better off not being with some Hillworth boy, who’d clearly never been any good in the first place and would never amount to anything.
He didn’t even feel like much of a Senshi at the moment. Everyone was growing stronger faster than he was, but that wasn’t a surprise, he’d had long stretches away from the fight, long enough to make him nostalgic for the days when he hadn’t known there was a fight.
What would things have been like if he’d never been handed that Henshin pen by Astrea? If he’d never battled the blue haired nega while Tallulah filmed? Would he still be here looking at the most expensive reminder of a failed relationship he’d ever had?
…Probably, he concluded, bitterly. Being just a normal teen might have even made it collapse faster. Being a Senshi had made him strive to balance his life, to find something to root himself in the normal, make solid bonds like he didn’t have outside his troubled family life. He thought he’d grown, thought he’d become something of a better man…
If he’d been the better man she’d wanted him to be would she have given him that look?
Turn and Flash, turn and flash.
“Leontyne you’re a moron.” He pointed out, sitting up and making piles of paper shift and crinkle as he accidently sat on some of them. Wrinkles wouldn’t make them less readable so he made no effort to move them.
He felt like he should do something, take action, go out and patrol, call Bell, he’d known her for a while… Xai was still a semi stranger even if he seemed like a nice guy. Or Maia. He wasn’t sure what Maia would think, she’d left the Basterds for Blood Moon. He couldn’t grudge her that even if he still had strong reservations about anything to do with those ‘Parallel’ sorts.
…Oh GOD The Basterds.
He almost flung himself backward onto the bed again with a groan. Tallulah… EUROPA was technically head of the Basterds, and he’d had enough short relationships to have a pretty good idea that smart people probably wouldn’t go back into a semi militaristic group of magical fighters lead by their ex girlfriend. That meant he didn’t nessisarily have a ready source of Patrolling Partners, and that was a bit nerve wracking. He’d gotten some hard lessons, and the scars to prove it, that the Negaverse could… would… kill you given half a chance. Worse some of them were popping up with ranged weapons.
Those damn arrows… His shoulder still ached from time to time, though fortunately mostly that was all it did. Then again he hadn’t tried that ache in a fight, he was still kind of afraid he’d been… damaged.
Of course arguably some people might have pointed out he was damaged already. He was still sure he’d made the right decision, even if he did have to tell himself as much again, and again, but he still just felt lonely. He felt like kicking walls and screaming. He felt like swearing, or going back and saying the cruel things he hadn’t said, but that he’d thought of saying. He felt as though he should go to Regulus and throw the ring as far as he could, until the drifting sands ate it up and he never had to think about it again… but he couldn’t.
No… it wasn’t that he couldn’t… he just wasn’t going to LET himself cave into that urge to be immature. It wouldn’t help, and he’d always wonder if he wouldn’t find it again.
So he was going to dig in his heels, set his jaw, not kick the wall until he broke a toe and take the ring back to the jeweler tomorrow and sell it, and then he’d work on moving on with his life. There were plenty of other senshi in Destiny City, and he was sure he’d be able to turn up one or two that would patrol with him. He’d maybe even find another team, instead of just a string of Patrol partners, but only time would really tell on that one.
He’d move on with his life and do everything he could to prove he wasn’t just some Hillworth boy going no where because he’d broken up with good little girl Tallulah Cowden.
