Eli was honestly a bit surprised but their professor's reaction to Cali's supposed scent. She had never smelt bad to him, however he could take a guess that his nose wasn't nearly as strong as the snake faunas before him. It was also entirely possible that he had just been around Cali for so long that he had grown accustomed to her scent. However, as the tiny girl tucked herself closer to him, fingers digging into the back of his hand, he knew he would likely get a lecture later for not having told her about this all sooner. He wouldn't have to wait for the whispered comment that hit his ear. He simply smiled down at her, hoping it was a reassuring look. The poor girl ad gone from the brink of a panic attack to completely and utterly embarrassed.Honestly, Eli wasn't sure which was worst. He supposed at least now he didn't have to worry about her breathing, though it didn't change the empathy he felt for her. This was a hard thing for her, and the embarrassment was certainly not helping. "I've always quite liked the way you smell." He assured her, gently squeezing her hand once more, his other arm tightening around her in a side embrace, protected at least momentarily by the leather fabric of his jacket.

When the professor addressed him, he couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle. The fact that they were so very tied at the hip that she would be able to determine such a thing simply by reading a file really said something about the closeness of the pair. Inseparable might even be an understatement. "That's me, call me Peter Pan." He joked, smirking at her despite the fact that she couldn't actually see it. She'd at least be able to hear it in his town, and after a moment he turned the cheesy grin to Cali to see what she might think of the little joke he'd just made. Looking satisfied with himself, he took a seat beside Cali. The chairs put a bit of distance between them, but he kept her hand clasped firmly in his, dangling in the space between them. He would only let go if she wanted it. After all, he was only here to support her, and if an action as simple as holding hands helped her in this feat, he didn't mind in the slightest. He enjoyed the stolen touches just as much as she did, and the thick gloves provided enough protection that they could risk it for now.

As the conversation drifted to that of Cali's semblance, as they had both known it might, Eli remained silent for a moment, letting the two ladies speak. Really he wasn't sure if he should say anything at all. He was simply here for moral support, it didn't exactly pertain to him. Then again, in his mind, anything that pertained to Cali pertained to him. At least, that's how he saw it. Still, he hadn't anymore knowledge as to why they had been asked her than Cali did, but at their teacher's offer to answer questions, he almost couldn't help himself. "Professor Schuer?" He questioned, waiting to catch his attention before continuing. "There is one thing... I have always thought with some work and proper training, Cali could learn to control her semblance, possibly turn off her decay... She has never really believed me, but surely she couldn't deny an opinion from someone as knowledgeable as yourself." He was being sly, even if it didn't seem like it to Kail, Cali would know. He knew how much she valued his opinion, how much it meant to her, but he also knew that she couldn't possibly deny if someone agreed with her. Especially and aura and semblance professor.

As Cali squirmed, stating that maybe she should leave, Eli turned his gaze to her, his hand tightening on hers as if to keep her in place. He wasn't about to let her back out now, not when she had made it this far. "It's okay." He murmured to her, ever so softly, once again tossing her a reassuring smile. His eyes never left hers as he once again addressed their professor. He was determined to keep her in place until the figured out exactly why they had been called here. "But, apart from that, I'm afraid neither of us really know why you wanted to see us, or rather Cali. You'll have to elaborate... and quickly as I'm afraid she might try to run away." He teased lightly, his electric orbs gleaming with a soft mischievous charm. Yet, there was something else hidden beneath the shocking hues, something that was always in his gaze when he looked at Cali. Complete adoration.

The true kindness of the teacher before them was really beginning to show, first with her apology towards Cali, who was still fretting over her supposed smell. Eli was happy to see her pink cheeks change from that of embarrassment to that of being flustered at his compliment. Embarrassed still maybe, but in a different way. He could see the change in her sandy hues as she quickly hushed him. For once her obliged, simply smirking at the girl, that ever-mischievous look in his eyes. He would surrender with the teasing for now, but that just meant he would have to make up for lost time later. Eli was relentless when it came to his teasing, but he just couldn't help it. He fed off of her reaction, longed for a laugh, craved the pink-cheeked look of annoyance. Her expressions and actions were always so raw, so real, so Cali. It was utterly adorable and surely he couldn't live without such things, but, for now at least, he didn't want to make this any harder on her than it already was.

He had accomplished the one thing he was always aiming for and he could not have been prouder. His Peter Pan comment got a true smile out of the girl and it seemed to put her at ease. He smiled at her story book comment, reaching out and once again gentling bobbing the end of her nose with his index finger. "Not your stereotypical prince or knight in shining armor... but spiders are just so much more interesting." He teased, throwing a cocky grin in her direction. Normally he might get a bit of retaliation for such a comment and the smirk that followed, but he wasn't sure how much nerve she would have sitting here in front of their professor, even if Kail were blind and wouldn't actually see it. Still, if Cali wanted to punch him for it, he wouldn't object, it was never her physical strength that hurt him, but rather her semblance. As the two settled into the chairs, hands clasped together still, he couldn't help but think he was like her training wheels. Not that he minded in he slightest. He would be here to keep her upright until she had the ability to do it on her own, and even then, he would ride on beside her. Side by side, til they rode to the end of time itself.

Now they were getting down to business, but Eli couldn't help the wide smirk that tugged at his lips when Professor Schuer referred to him as Peter an, the smallest of smiles upon her lips. He turned to Cali, as if to make sure she saw it too, looking all to proud of himself. While Cali was always his favorite person to make smile or laugh, he enjoyed sharing his humor with anyone and meriting such reactions, but he seemed to be getting a particular kick out of this. However, as Kail pulled out a box, speaking of the effectiveness his semblance held against Cali's he turned his face forward, a more serious expression dawning his face. It was more than that, there was a look of guilt in his electric orbs. He hated causing Cali pain and would much rather deal with the consequences of her semblance himself rather than inflicting the torturous effects of his own upon her. Still there were times when it had become necessary, rather for his own safety or that of other unfortunate students. He was always consumed with guilt after having to use his semblance on her, had a hard time looking her in to eye, afraid to touch her, for days afterwards, but it couldn't always be avoided and she had always managed to pull him out of the rut. They had experimented with it a bit, trying to find away to repel her pestilence without causing her pain, but it seemed one of them was always getting hurt... A tragic fate. Tragically beautiful.

Shaking his head slightly to clear his thoughts, he ran a finger through his shaggy hair as he spoke. "My semblance can repel hers in a sense, but not without causing her harm." He admitting, sighing softly at the words and looking truly disgusted by such a thing. As she went on to explain the suit, he initially held the same fear as Cali. He wouldn't wish such a horrible thing upon her no matter the cause, but he was able to shake them off easier than her. He had a significant amount of trust in Beacon and in this teacher. Neither would do anything to hurt any of their students intentionally. Surely not in such an agonizingly way that could be avoided with much care. "See, she just wants to help you. Just like I said." Her murmured softly into Cali's ear, smiling down at her and giving her hand a gentle squeeze. Already Cali's clothes were beginning to form holes and almost subconsciously Eli was rummaging around in his back, ready to pull out a new pair. For someone as carefree as him, he was always prepared when it came to Cali.

The true show of sacrifice was that the school and their professor were both willing to sacrifice such a precious resource. With the fall of Atlas, they lost the majority of their dust supply. Yet, he could only imagine how much dust it had taken to cover that entire suit. Eli smiled first at Kail and then at Cali. It really was an ingenious thought, and he couldn't see why it wouldn't work."Don't argue with your teacher, thank her." He told her, looking back to the blue suit. He wasn't sure Cali had realized just how form fitting it would be. It certainly couldn't leave much to the imagination... but it was still better than the alternative, which was her birthday suit. Speaking of, if they didn't act quickly that's exactly what she would be left in. Granted Kail couldn't see it anyway, and despite their best efforts, it had been an unavoidable thing that Eli had witnessed such a thing as well. Still, there was Yui, sitting quietly to herself. Knowing Cali, he knew the situation would be equally embarrassing no matter what.
