Ridley blinked at the new little nickname for her, raising one eyebrow at him while her lips pulled into a slight frown. She looked like she was fighting with the instinct to be annoyed or a amused. After a moment she let out a huff of air, something between a scoff and a laugh. Rolling her eyes she finally came to smirk at him. "Princess, hm? I guess we'll just see about that." In her own mind, she was just about the farthest thing you could get from a princess. She had spent most of her life on a farm, and the rest of it in a small shack her uncle called a house, learning how to wield her twin blades. She'd never had much in the form of materialistic objects. Not that she ever minded. She'd never wanted much and while so many little girls longed to be princesses, attend a ball in a big fluffy dress, and marry a prince, that had never been her. She'd always been too busy climbing trees, using sticks as pretend swords, scraping up her knees. Ridley had always been a rambunctious one, constantly giving her parents a fright as she searched for her next adventure... or misadventure. They didn't always go to plan. She was no stranger to stitches or broken bones. It was behavior her parents always tried to tame, even if at one point it had only been to try and protect her. Her uncle on the other time encouraged it. He often got into as much trouble with her parents as she did. Still, she couldn't ever recall him calling her anything remotely close to princess. To this day wit was 'kiddo' or 'Rid'... usually kiddo.

As Adam took his place in front of the Professor Kail and Narx came to stand behind her, not hesitating to grip her shoulders like they were long lost friends, Ridley kept her place, standing just a few feet away from them. She didn't want to get in Adam's way and this was plenty close enough for her to do what she needed to do. He met Adam's gaze with a nod, before meeting her own and adding a slight wink to the gesture. Ridley rolled her eyes before letting out a sarcastic laugh. "A real charmer you are." She teased, letting that same sarcastic edge consume her voice. However, this time she did look slightly more amused than annoyed. If only slightly. That was until she noticed Adam's strange behavior beside her. The eyebrow twitch, the fidgeting fingers, and the polishing of glasses that had been polished to perfection just moments ago. Not to mention he moved to tie up his hair that had just barely stated would be fine. Honestly she wasn't quite sure what to make off it. He was always so happy and care free. It was always strange to see such drastic changes in what was his normally smiling face. She tried to catch his eye, raising a brow at him, but remained silent. It certainly wasn't a conversation to be had at the moment. It would have to wait for later, if it ever came up at all. She had a feeling such a conversation would bring forth a plethora of other new and confusing feelings.

With everyone's confirmation that they were ready, Adam shouted one simple word and with that he was on the mood. She watched closing as he immediately moved into a kick, flipping and moving with air with ease. She had never gotten a chance to watch Adam's fighting style up close. He had only joined Team DARK shortly after the fiasco at the mines that lead to the dissolving of Team SODA. During the battle at the mine she had been far to focused with trying to fight of the bandits while injured to have even thought about glancing in Adam's way. He was skilled, to say the least, and seeing both this and knowing the workings of his semblance, it was easy to see how he had taken out so many of the bandits by himself. An impressive feat really. He had managed to take out more of them single-handedly than any of the others. It was easy to say that without him on their side they might not have all made it out of there alive. Onyxia had barely made it out with her life as it was. However, she stopped her thoughts there. Continuing down that road would only lead to her frustrations with Scylla which would do nothing but anger her further.

Shaking her head lightly to clear it, Ridley focused her golden orbs on Kail, taking in a deep steady breath, focusing. Narx clearly thought she needed to be angry to enact the full extent of her semblance, he had been purposefully antagonizing her after all. While that wasn't entirely true, it didn't hurt either. Activating her semblance required focusing on specific injuries she had experienced and with those injuries came memories. Sometimes they were painful, dark memories, but they always lead to the same feeling in the end. Anger. Which did add a certain potency to her semblance. This was a bit different though. She had never used her semblance on someone innocent before. Least of all a teacher. Yet, not only did her own growth and progress rely on this, so did Narx's. She had to do this and she couldn't hold back. So, she tried something different. Closing her eyes, a face came to life behind her orbs. Deep brown eyes, just like she had pictured earlier... only instead of making her sick, this face made her angry. There was so much pent up hate, frustration, guilt... and pain. She was going to use it to her advantage.

Hands clenching into tight fists at her side, golden orbs snapped open and locked on Kail. Focusing on the woman's aura, she felt her own encompass it, breaking through it, fighting its way into the very neurons of her brain. It was then that the pain would come. It was not a slow process. It all happened in mere seconds, a blink of an eye. Kail would feel it as immensely as Ridley had herself. She would feel it as if it were actually happening in the here and the now, rather than the twisted illusion that it was. She would feel three, long claws biting through her skin. Tearing through muscle and tissue right across her torso. White, hot, agony. A searing pain that was enough to cause one to linger on the edge of consciousness. She knew she had when the beowolves claws had torn through her own chest, from shoulder to hip. One hand reached up slowly, running along the scars through her clothing, the other stayed balled up at her side. She focused on the pain over and over. It was unrelenting. Or at least it would be until Narx took it from her, and then he would feel it with the Same intensity that Kail had. The same intensity that Ridley once had.

                                                  ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Well, that seemed a bit over the top just for something as simple as testing semblances. She was about to object but she instead held her tongue. She didn't know what this guy was really planning but she was going to find out either way. "Alright. I think my semblance would only strengthen your weapons but that is only my theory." She says matter-of-factly. So, it seems that there's only one thing left to do. "If you're looking for a quick fight, though, I think it would be good. It should be fun, right?" She asked with a small smile.

Kail would chuckle as he said that it was time to fight. The man didn't understand, it was 4 against one. Before the first attack came towards her head, she would let out a little hiss towards her snakes. They knew what it meant. She had told them exactly what she could do, though she didn't know if they were truly listening to her. Though, thinking about it, she never mentioned that the snakes were more than just snakes. The snakes were her weapons. She didn't even activate her Semblence as the kick came for her head. She would snap the cane towards Adam's leg. It almost sounded like a whip going through the air. Aiming for the head was good in a real fight, but this was practice to see if his semblence worked on the blind.

The teacher would then take her left hand and catch the knee that was coming towards her face. "Thissss isss practiccce, not a real fight, keep away from my facccce, or I will be forccced to be ssseriousss asss well." She would take the hit to the chest though, this was to see if the power worked.

As the assault was happening, two unseen snakes slithered out of the skulls that Kail had on the table. The Boa constrictor also seemed to perk up, and it would start to go up Kail's kimono that she was wearing, climbing and climbing.

She would strike at him any time that he would hit her, her cane whipping in the air as she did so. Some would say that her striking power was like that of a boa constrictor. However, the other snakes went under were Adam were Felcia and Marcus. Felcia would strike towards his legs first, her teeth bared, with him protecting his face, he wouldn't exactly be wary of his feet.

Kail would feel a sharp pain, then taken away by Narx, making her feel well enough to continue fighting as she was.

Azura Knight

The bow caught Azura a little off guard, but with a moment's hesitation, she returned with a bow of her own. She was pleasantly surprised by how polite Yui was, especially after her recent experience with team DVNT. Though she couldn't help but flush as Yui brought up the earlier fight. "Ah....yes....well...." It was Azura's turn to trip over her words as she glanced over to where Ridley, Narx and Adam were. Things seemed to be getting heated again, but she trusted the Professor to keep things under control. "Certainly an interesting way to start class. I do hope everyone will move on from this incident shortly." She hardly wanted a few ill-advised words to turn into a long-standing grudge between the two teams, but based on how Cecil's apology was received she wasn't exactly hopeful. Perhaps Cecil was right, and the fight, as barbaric as it was, would bring matters to a close.

Fortunately, Yui didn't linger on the topic long and Azura promptly returned her attention to the class aid who began discussing illusions. She was about to answer the pro's and con's of doing scenery when Yui suddenly brought up their volleyball game. Azura smiled. Her and Ridley had been fairly equal in skill. Adam had been horrible, but surprisingly Cecil had been a total rockstar. Something Azura was grateful for, otherwise, she would have the neon green hair instead of Adam. "Yes. Admittedly I'm surprised more people didn't join us on the courts. It was very enjoyable, though your game didn't seem to last long." She couldn't help but feel like she and Yui were kindred spirits of sorts. First impressions were that Yui was polite and observant, much like herself.

"I can make sceneries, however, they have limited effectiveness." She began returning to the topic at hand. Soon the two girls were standing on the volleyball court. It would become clear why illusions were the perfect semblance for someone who paid so much attention to detail. From the direction and height of the sun matching the shadows on the ground to the seagulls in the background, the smallest detail could give away the illusion of it all. Of course, there was one thing that did give it away. Despite the sun in the sky, Yui would still feel the cold Cecil had created. "I can only affect what you see and hear, not what you feel." She went on to explain. She hoped it was something she could learn to do one day, but it was difficult to know how her semblance would evolve.

Suddenly Yui asked about her weapon. Well, maintaining her illusion while talking about something unrelated would be good practice. "Crimson Regret." She said as she pulled out a red and black box that really didn't look like much of anything. "This is its compact form to make it easy to carry." She pushed a button and the stock and trigger popped out the back, while a scope came out of the top making it look vaguely like a gun, though a rather odd one. "Its range form is a high impact sniper rifle that can shoot dust infused bullets." Not that it did a lot of good with the dust shortage. She'd only use the more expensive rounds in a dire situation, otherwise, she had stuck to normal bullets so far at Beacon. Finally came the last transformation. With the push of another button, the weapon extended out and unfolded itself completely to reveal a scythe much larger than the girl carrying it. "And finally the scythe. It can still shoot like this, but it is much less accurate."

"If that were true, then this may be more beneficial on learning rather than talking about it." He told her before the longsword shattered as he summoned up a spear, seeing Oswald and Ren walk off to go and do their own things. His teammates had taken the chance to work hard on their semblance before he backed up and entered a low stance. "It's not a quick fight however... this is to test each of my weapons and see if more ice might cause them to break seeing as how the ice will not be my own." He told her, ready to attack once she was ready. His task was simple, spawn in and switch as many times with a different weapon to drain his aura, his anger though definitely caused him to see blue.

Ren nodded his head while he looked to see the others who came to the teacher. He sat and tilted his head at the sight of Ridley, Adam, and immediately the snakes came into the picture. This caused Ren to squeak and jump up onto the table. His ears were definitely standing on end as he was speechless. He was practically choking on words before some slipped out. "Snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake snake!!!!!!" And with that, Ren ran off, doing laps around the class itself.

                                                          out. of. control.

XXXOh no, what had she done? Before she even had the chance to pull her hand away, to flee the scene, she had been captured. Her sandy orbs said it all. The poor girl was on the brink of tears as the fear, worry, and anxiety consumed her all at once. What was she to do in such a crisis? Worry plagued her feeble heart as he began to rub and tend to his nose, wondering just how bad the damage was. ... Not to mention how bad it could have been. It was only fortunate for Eli in particular that she rarely ever took her gloves off, or else a visit to the nurse's office may have been necessary. ... She also wasn't too strong herself, so the likelihood of her breaking his nose was at a much lower percentile than if say he did the same to her. She wanted to get closer, she wanted to hold his head and apologize... She wanted to try and make him feel better, cause she honestly didn't know how severe she messed up his nose, and her mind would run rampant. ... Up until the moment he erupted with laughter, and her worry and anxiety turned into an expression of... Simply shock. "... Eh..?" It took a solid moment to process the obvious: he was fine, and she was stressing for no reason. "Y-you're okay...? I didn't break it... no blood...? I didn't hurt you...?" While the first two were right, the last question may have been pushing it for a bit. Just because he was fine now didn't mean that it didn't hurt, but... The justification was always hoped for. As if there was never a break, his accusation of her being hysterical turned into a pouting frown. "H-hysterical? I'm... I'm not being hysterical... I was just worried, you know! What if I wasn't wearing gloves or something??? That could've... That could've really hurt..." ... Okay sure, maybe she was being hysterical at first. But damn, let this girl be concerned! It was almost too sad to not let her be a flustered mess.

It wasn't just a jacket. It never was 'just' anything. That's where their perspectives would bridge off from one another. It was true, they would do absolutely anything for each other. In their world, all they needed was each other... Everything else was just an accessory, but not a necessity. It was something they both lived by alike in countless ways, but there was always a few quirks that differed. That was simply because of their own individuality, but love for one another all the same. Eli had always put Cali first, no matter what, and was willing to lose anything for her. Whether it be some gloves, a shirt, a jacket, or even a few layers of skin. Nothing was too much to make sure that she was happy, and she knew and admired that to no extent. Thus, he was always giving her things that he knew wouldn't come back to him. That the sacrifice of it was worth it if even for just a moment, it would make her smile. In a similar light, everything that Eli had dismissed as an accessory for their happiness, Cali would find a much deeper meaning in it. Those simply objects held such sentiment for her, much akin to the memories that they share. If it was something of his or something that he got her... She wanted it to last forever, instead of merely a few moments in her arms. This went back to the first day they met. This boy took her hand, despite what everyone had told him, and despite the pain. He did it to comfort her, just as he did by putting the first glove on her hand. He knew it wouldn't last, but he wanted to do it for her. ... And when those gloves then crumbled against her palms, the tears wouldn't stop. She was certain that he would hate her for ruining something of his, and was afraid to face him again. ... How silly she was, but the fear was very real. ... Even so many years later, though the fear is gone ... It was always a lingering dread, knowing that she would ruin something of his once again. The only reason she was even able to hold his jacket now without nearly as much fear was because she was still cladded in her own wardrobe... At least, for a moment longer. A moment of tranquility, and one that could only be interrupted by the same man who put that peace in her arms. With soft rosy cheeks, her eyelids would hang lazily as she gazed up at him once again. "It... smells like home.." .. It went without saying, but.. She didn't mean where she was from. That was a smell of sadness and despair. No... Home.. It was where she belonged, and where she felt safe. A home was where the heart lied, right? In those terms, home wasn't far off... He sat right next to her.

She could feel the pride radiating from the boy that sat next to her. This had been the most exposed she left herself in a long time, and she was looking for Eli's attention. An outside justification to notice what she was doing, to notice the progress she was making... While she should have been doing it for herself, and she was... Deep down, though, she was doing it for Eli. The one who had supported her all this time, and constantly believed in her. She... Still didn't quite believe in herself, not really... But, if Eli had believed in her... That meant she could do something, right? ... If she couldn't believe in herself, then... She would believe in Eli, believing in her. It was still a positive mental attitude, and that was one of the first steps for even hoping to better yourself. Though, there was no immediate progress. Sitting in that chair, hoping with all her might... It didn't stop her from slowly sinking, from the chair beginning to crumble beneath her mass. .. A smile would keep on her face, as shy as it was. At this moment, she held some confidence... And that was the best time to tease her, even with such a term that would have once hurt her so terribly. Not that it hurts now, at least.. Coming from him. No, it would always be met with some terrible reaction or a smile, or maybe a slug or two to the shoulder. "The exact monster you wanted ... No nose is safe, the boops are neigh." Even if it was a slip-up, perhaps Cali had finally taken the lead in the nose boop wars. At least, for this moment. ... Eli was a star at it, and the glory would certainly be snatched away from her at any moment. Her attention would remain on him though, this time intentionally smiling in the cutest fashion she could imagine ... Babydoll eyes and everything, she really had to hit home on this 'adorable creature' trend. "I think I'm just your Achilles heel. Best tread carefully." Cali would begin to lean back in her seat, keeping her hands and feet from touching anything aside from the chair... That was the only thing that was allowed to suffer from her decay, and she would try to sit comfortably as the show began.

It started off flashy, just as he always had. Even getting up from his chair had to be done with style, and she would simply watch with longing eyes... He radiated such confidence, and at this moment, she was radiating admiration and adoration. Lightning was a fickle thing, and Eli was always careful with it... Despite how much of a show he liked to put on, he took extra precaution with her nearby. Perhaps more so than usual now, because of the complex design of her suit. ... The electric nature of his semblance could prove to be beneficial, or highly dangerous for her dust infused suit. Which didn't seem to be something they wanted to test at this moment, if ever... ... Rocking back in her chair, she'd watch her boy with half a smile as he started his act. His presence had been something straight out of a movie, where the hero touches down with his fist to the earth to display the raw essence of his power. It intimidating, astonishing, and asserted a position of dominance in the situation that Cali would admire. ... No semblance in this class compared to his, in her eyes... He was the only star she could see, a star that would outshine all who stood against. Such a thought would radiate as the electricity surged to life and radiated around him, as well as the desk before him. She would snatch up her gloves for a moment so she could clap, always finding herself in awe at the amazing display his semblance had always offered. If they weren't so high up, it would certainly be an attention grabber ... Hopefully, he was okay with just her undivided attention, and to make sure... She'd edge him on. "Come on, Spidey... Not going to entrance me in your web? I know you've got in you~" Even if it was just her, she had hoped she could feed his desire for an audience. She hadn't failed yet, but... She knew just how much it meant to him. It was one of the reasons why he was here, after all. Because he could rock the center of attention, unlike herself. In the meantime, she continued to sit in her seat... Trying in the back of her mind to focus, to not decay.. To not crumble... To not destroy. Her attention, however, as elsewhere... On the boy who made himself a spotlight. ... Though, to some degree of an oddity... Her sinking had appeared to slow, the structural integrity of the chair... Holding more than it seemed like it would.

                                                          out. of. choices.

XXX... It had appeared that mentioning the prior exchange may have been a mistake. One could tell simply by the shades of her face shifting towards one of a brighter red. It wasn't her fault, though. Outbursts and conflict appeared to be quite a common occurrence outside of the Lioncourt manor. It seemed to just be something that came in nature and was necessary for further progress. "In due time, I'm certain. The Professor may turn them to stone, otherwise." It became less and less clear if Yui truly believed that Kail was a gorgon or not, but it did to come as an amusing twist in her words. One would almost think she was capable of joking. Ha. Yui, making jokes. That was the joke there. Despite the humor in her words, a reassuring nod would be given to Azura while leaving the topic behind. There was no point in lingering, it may only make matters worse.

A smile, now that was more like it. While still a bit foreign to her, she had the basic concept that a smile meant one was comfortable in some way. The mention of volleyball had been the right choice, even if it was a subject that actually had Yui still ... Unsure of how she felt. Her head of winter would lightly bob with a nod as she listened to Azura. "There were supposed to be more, apparently. ... Alas, it seemed that the game was canceled without a word. ... Unfortunate, really." The disappointment still had a pang her heart, and the events truly didn't help her warped perception of reality. She had waited so long, all for a fruitless endeavor. ... Her mind was quickly pulled from such a lul of negative thoughts at the mention of her own game. "Hmm..?" She hummed, her brow furrowing to an ever so curious expression before the dots connected. She must've seen the mock match between her and Lancer, unless she was there at sundown. The disappointed of the day had been replaced with her inconclusive feelings towards the later events that conspired. ".. You saw that? Which one?" She wanted clarification, because... Well, the first one was an absolute mess. The one after though, the one that took place after she had watched them played... It was a match she wouldn't forget. Her eyes would drift for a moment, looking down towards a bag that hung at her side. It looked as if a white rose was poking out of it, along with the obscured face of a worn teddy bear that was tucked away.. ".. It was more than enough. ... Though, I do hope I can do it again. .. One day.." This weekend had truly been one of those most eventful she could recall. Her time with Lancer, then her meeting with Kail. She'd have to tuck her reminiscing aside, though she hadn't even noticed the faint smile that curled up on her cheek. It seemed both herself and Azura were attentive to their surroundings and had watched each other in passing at the beach. It seemed only fated that they would become partners in class, and it wasn't something she was opposed to. There were similarities.

With simply a blink, the two were somewhere else. It took Yui a moment to fully process, as the imagery was far more realistic than she had anticipated. It was unlike her imagination that ran rampant and distorted her immediate perception of reality ... This, actually seemed like reality. While listening, the woman would begin to step forward and past Azura. Her eyes attentively looking for the same details that she remembered, being in the same spot not long ago. "... Outstanding. If I hadn't known better..." She paused though, looking up towards the sun. It occurred to her that despite how real the illusion was, she herself didn't find herself under a new wave of heat despite being overdressed ... No, in fact... It was still rather cold, due to the nature of the ice semblance in class. "It's cold. ... That makes sense..." She whispered softly, continuing to listen to Azura's explanation. The cold itself was enough to ward off the illusion, but Yui dismissed it ... At least, until she stepped down and felt nothing beneath her. Eyes would widen for just a moment as she shifted her weight to her grounded foot, flicking her wings for a small gust of wind to push her back to stable ground. ... She had almost stepped off the stage. "And that same feeling is what determines reality from simulation ... Intriguing." It was sensible before, but now with a first-hand experience ... It was concrete. She would turn on her heel and face the girl once again. Azura was capable of adjusting sound and sight, but the other senses were restricted. " ... Perhaps you should study psychology. In learning how the mind works, you may be able to refine your illusions to a more precise point ... Perhaps even... You could find a way to stimulate the other senses. ... The mind is what interprets it all, correct?" Yui herself wasn't too familiar with illusions, aside from the basic concept and what she had learned from Azura's. She did, however, know that there was much to the mind, mostly from her mother ... After all, her mother had to know something if she was trying to change her own daughter's perception of reality. " ... Perhaps you'll be able to stimulate hyperreality." ... A term that Yui was familiar with, one that her mother had used with describing her imagination ... That if she wasn't careful, she wouldn't be able to decern her own thoughts from reality. Was that really the issue, though?

Now though, it was her turn. To her request of a weapon, Azura seemed to comply without hesitance and pulled out a red and black box. Yui's pale hues would focus on it intently, as Azura continued to explain and triggered the first transformation. This box, the storage, had begun extending and unfolding until it had become a unique variety of sniper rifle. 'A long-range combatant?' Her thoughts echoed, as it was something that was a natural enemy for someone that was airborne as herself. At the same time, long-range weaponry while being airborne was even more ideal and was why she often used a bow. With another click, the weapon would continue with a more drastic extension and unfolding process that unveiled a quite large, but remarkable scythe. Yui only found herself analyzing the weapon more so, admiring the craftsmanship as she took in every detail. Every shift and fold it made to each to each form, every curve, and edge... It was outstanding.

"Remarkable.. Thank you. ... I suppose I owe you an explanation for my curiosity, don't I?" She was truly appreciative to be shown her weapon, as well as a more in-depth analysis of how it functioned. While she could normally grasp it, this just meant that she wouldn't have to waste as much time mastering its functionality. Focusing her aura, she would let her semblance activate. Thus, a burst of hot and vivid blue embers would erupt from her body in a blazing glory. However, the show quickly diminished and was left with a large number of low glowing azure embers floating around her. "I possess a more utility based semblance, as I can provide myself with an armory of tools and weapons by creating them with my embers." Since she knew the basics of Azura's semblance, she would share her own. .. After all, she didn't have to get into her sensitivity to dust. Holding out her hand, the embers would begin to swarm and mold in her palm. The first shape was a simple dagger, nothing too impressive. It still looked remarkable though, the embers compressing before igniting into a cracked frame that took the shape of a dagger, along with an intense blue color. Her fingers would wrap around the handle as she held it towards Azura. "It retains the full functionality, but I wouldn't recommend touching it ... It is fire, after all." She would let Azura look at it a moment longer before she let the embers work some magic. They would cluster around the blade, building onto it and extending it out until it became a longsword. Then, the tip would widen and expand to become an axe instead. The possibilities were endless, and just getting started. The embers for the battle axe would dissolve, and free float into one of the silver rings that she wore on her fingers. If Azura hadn't noticed, she would see a ring on each of Yui's fingers. That, and her hands were gloved. A few of the rings illuminated blue, and as the embers moved into the right index finger, that ring too would begin to glow. "My weapon does not hold transformative properties, but storage for my creations. ... My brother named it the "Azure Tinderbox." ... Silly, isn't it?" She sighed softly at the mention of him, but the name would forever stick. Moving on.

".. And this... This is the reason I wanted to see your weapon, Crimson Regret." Holding out her hand, embers would begin to swarm to her palm just as before. This time though, they would weave together in a whirl before igniting to flame just as they had before. But this time... They took the shape of a box. Why? Yui would give her a moment to examine it. After all, aside from the color... The box should look familiar. Pulling the box closer to herself, she would press a 'button' as a stock and trigger emerged, constructed of flames. All while a blazing scope emerged from the top. If she hadn't connected the dots before, it would surely make sense now. Yui would hold the blazing sniper to her eye, then through the makeshift scope at Azura. Her finger was off the trigger. "Due to the elemental nature, I don't believe dust infused bullets will work for this replica. ... It can still shoot, though. As if it was fire dust." This was much more complicated than the weapon she copied from Lancer, but that only made her admire it more. Lowering the sniper, she'd then press a second 'button' as the embers began to shift and move again. While it simulated the transformation properties the weapon had, it was more so just reshaping itself appropriate to the shape it was meant to be. Embers expanding and working until they had become a large, vivid blue scythe that mirrored Azura's own. "... I suppose if I was to name it, Azure Regret would be fitting."

Richard would watch the feathers as the semblance was explained to him. Asger could literally make a flurry of daggers from his own feathers. It was interesting, resourceful, deadly; a combination that would be very useful for a hunter. "As hard as steel you say?" He questioned before turning his eyes back down to the two faunus. There was something about it that made him want to test if it was true. Though he was unsure if it was relatively safe to do. After all, they were in a classroom. It would be unwise to start a sort of sparing match. Being focused on semblances he figured it would be time to work on his.

While his weapons weren't with him, he couldn't exactly enhance one. Richard took a moment to think about it. Perhaps it didn't have to be a weapon? What if it was something else entirely? Looking down at his own hands, they were weapons if used properly. Though his semblance couldn't be used to enhance living tissue unfortunately. As long as he had some sort of close contact with something he could work his aura into it. His eyes changed purple for a moment as he activated his semblance. Literally the gloves he was wearing would be coated in a thin purple hue of aura.

With it in place Richard would without warning, slam his fist into the desk in front of him. While the desk itself was sturdy it managed to crack from the force of his attack. The young wouldn't even flinch in pain from punching the solid surface. Cause he didn't feel any sort of pain, the aura coating on the gloves didn't even allow the shock to traverse through them. It had made them strong enough to damage sometime far sturdier then it. Which meant he could make nearly any object he touched far stronger. How exactly....he didn't understand it, though he wanted to find out. His eyes changed purple once again as he pumped his aura into all of his clothing. Everything he was wearing started to glow the same as his gloves were. He would concentrate trying to keep all the clothing coated. Of course he probably become a lot more durable in the process but he was trying to get an understanding of his aura. He figured if he perhaps coated himself in it, it would lead to something. "I am trying to understand mine still. How I can improve it and everything. Sure I can make objects stronger, but I am not sure how." He would admit to the other Asgar and Danae as he kept up his concentration.

Danaë would cover her ears. It was all so loud, tears were forming in her eyes. This was torture. There were loud whipping sounds, the sound of air being moved around limbs, the forming of fire. The talking was bad, but there was about to be more noises. The sound was coming from everywhere. There had to be a way to make the sounds go away. There was one way to do it, but she would have to ask either her team mate or her brother to do it.

She was about to speak when the sound of thunder crashed into her ears. This caused Danaë to jump as the sound of it. She didn't know if she was the only one who heard it, but her jumping while off balance would cause her to fall between the bleachers and the desk. She was sobbing loudly now as one of her ears popped at the sound. She really wasn't dealing with the sound well at all right now.

Richard then cracked the desk in front of him, she could hear the wood splintering, causing her to jump again. This needed to end. "Richard...just hit me..." her voice sounded like she was in pain, and begging for someone to put her out of her misery. She knew her limits, and she also knew that if Richard could do that without a weapon, then he could reduce the amount of time until she was blissfully out of pain.

Seeing just how concerned she truly was, he began to think that maybe he shouldn't have laughed quite so hard, but he hadn't been able to help it. Sure, it hadn't been a pleasant feeling. Having someone's finger jammed up your nostril usually wasn't. It had hurt a bit at first, but no real damage had been done, thanks to her gloves. So, seeing as his nose was intact and he wasn'tabout to turn into Voldemort, he couldn't help but find the situation anything but hilarious. "Cali, really, I'm fine." He assured her, voice gentle but firm. He wasn't going to argue the matter. Honestly, her fingers were small enough he really didn't think she could do much damage anyway. Not without her pestilence. However, this did give her a lead in their nose boop wars. One thing was sure, he would have to get her back, but in a far more gentle way. Considering the size damage, a reversed situation would have been far more detrimental. "Didn't mom ever tell you? You can pick you friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose." He teased, though he chose his words very carefully, referring to his own mother rather than her own. He smirked at her for a moment with a mischievous look in his baby blues before letting loose another laugh.

Watching her with his jacket, he really couldn't help but smile. She looked truly tranquil for once. Completely relaxed, happy even, and entirely at home. Which was explained by her next words. His expression soften as he gazed at her with electric hues. That same look of adoration returned to his face. The same expression that often consumed his expression when he looked at Cali, made all the more apparent in the tender moments like this. Her words, simple as they were, held a great meaning. If his jacket smelt like home, it meant he was her home, just as she was his home. Looking back at their past it really explained a lot. They'd lost their homes, or rather their houses at a very young age. They were left to wander the world a lone, often without much on the side of materialistic items. Often without a real roof over their head. It made Cali's cloth situation a bit complicated. In their younger years Eli often had to resort to less than ethical ways of obtaining such things. Usually more often than he ever admitted to Cali. Through that they had become each others homes, safe havens, shelters. They knew that as long as they had each other, they could make it through anything. After all, they had made it through so much already. In all honesty though, that connection had been kindled long before. Sparked at the very first moment that Eli took her hand and ignited further with every action and memory that followed until it became the raging forest fire that it was today. Smiling tenderly as t the girl, he reached out and very gently poked the tip of her nose. "And we both know there's no place like home."

Watching her, he could see that she was slowly starting to sink as the chair began to give way to her pestilence. However, it did seem to be progressing at a somewhat slower pace than normal. Even if it was just a subtle change, a small change, it was there. The grin on his lips only grew as he gave her a thumbs up. He just hoped that this would spark the same hope in her that he had always had. Eli had always believed in her and he always would. He would be there to cheer her on and support her through the thick of it all. He knew she didn't really believe that she could control the decay, he was just going through all of this to make him happy. He just hoped that this would eventually show her that she could do just that, with time and effort of course, but he wanted her to see that it was a possibility she could work towards. By the look on her face, he could tell she was at least more positive about the situation than she had been in quite some time. That was a start. After all, baby steps. At her joke, he couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle. The fact that she was even able to joke with him was a good sign and he was ready to play a long in hope of earning a laugh of his own. "Truly, I should be locked up. I've created a monster." He teased, holding his arms up in a mock surrender of sorts. "Not just a monster... but a monster that is my very own weekness." He teased, but really it wasn't that far off. Eli revolved his every decision around her, would gladly put his life on the line for her, submit himself to the worst of tortures to keep her safe. Just as she would do for him.

Her teasing taunts were nothing but a challenge for him. That same spark that seemed to buzz between his finger tips speaker his deep blue eyes as he smirked at her. Her claps, cheering, and poking at him to do better was more than enough to appease his need for attention. Truly he wouldn't have mi def an audience. He only would have thrived further, but it was Cali's attention that really mattered to him. It was her attention that he truly craved. He knew she'd always been a bit entranced by his semblance. The same way he had always been entranced by her, able to see the good in her own semblence. He knew she loved watching the electricity, to see exactly what he could do. With her taunt, she knew exactly what she wanted to see as well. "Anything for you, my spider queen." He smirked as t her over his shoulder for just a moment before returning his attention the the area before him, still being sure that it was free of students. There was a practice dummy in the corner that wasn't being used, so, turning his wrists upwards, revealing the finer contraptions of his gloved weapon that were usually hidden beneath his jacket sleeves on the underside of his wrist. Aiming for the dummy, a string of webs shot from both of his wrists, weaving together as the electricity sparked along its service. He launched the web-mad net at the dummy, working just as the teacher had said to make the electricity stronger and harsher than usual.

At Richard's question, Asger simply nodded, only glancing at him for a moment before returning his eyes to the feathers soaring above their heads. "But only so long as my semblance is active... and while they cut and maim in much the same way a steel blade would, they aren't quite as durable. It's easier to destroy or damage them than a true dagger." He explained, working one of the fifteen feathers away from the flock he maneuvered it to come and float in front of the man, presumably for him to observe if he so wished. Usually he controlled the feathers as a singular unit, a group working together, but he could separate them and control them individually as well. It just took much more focus. However, that was the point of the lesson, to work on his control. This killed to birds in one stone... terrible pun aside, it helped him to accomplish his own task while also appearing Richard's curiosity. It was safer to handle just one of the feathers rather than observing his wings, which were still furled close to his body. Not that he didn't think Richard couldn't handle himself around sharp objects, but he had seen the amount of damage his wings and feathered blades could do in such a state and it would be fairly easy for something to go wrong. Terribly wrong.

As Richard went to working on his own semblance, Asger let the singular feather return to the air above them before pushing each of the feathers apart. It took an immense amount of focus, but he moved each of them to the very extent of his boundaries, forming a large, rotating circle twenty-five feet above their heads. Blue orbs stained carefully on the feathers over him, moving them slowly, inch by inch, further and further away from him and from each other until once again his control reached it limits and they snapped back. Converging once more, the feathers took a speedy dive straight for an empty area of the classroom. They pulled out at the last moment, skimming across the ground for a moment before launching onto the air once more. They came to hover just ove their heads right as Richard punched the desk, splintering the wood with what looked like no more than a measly glove. The fabric was illuminated in a soft purple haze, and his clothes soon took on that same glow. "Impressive." Asger mysed softly, observing the damage done to the desk as Richard explained his own ability. He couldn't help but wonder just how his ability would hold up to his feathers... but seeing as this wasn't a combat class he wasn't sure a sparing match was really a good idea, considering the limited space and the many students that could accidentally get caught in the crossfire.

However, there wasn't much time to think on it as the next moment Danae jumped before falling forward to the floor between the desks. He stood quickly to his feet, instinctively reaching out to catch her, but he was a moment too late and his fingers grasped at empty air. "Danae!" His voice was urgent, but still hushed. There were large tears in her eyes, rolling down her cheeks. It was a truly heartbreaking sight and he wished nothing more than to take away the pain the rowdy classroom was surely causing her, but that was outside of his own abilities. Well... other than the exact thing she asked Richard to do. The one thing Asger knew he couldn't do. Could he raise a hand to her, cause her more pain, of the meant taking away the rest of her pain. Frowing, his eyebrows furrowed together, for head crinkled with concern. He wouldn't stop it, not if this was what she wanted. Especially not while seeing her in such a state, but it wasn't going to be easy for him to watch. Letting someone hit her went against every protective instinct he held. It would take everythi g to keep his feet planted where they were rather than stepping in front of her instead. Surely it could he no easier a decision for Richard as her teammate, so he waited to see exactly what he would do.

Tessa had, for the most part, no earthly idea what she was supposed to be doing. She was given a kiddie pool full of dirt that she was supposed to...do something with , the core concept of which was lost on her as her semblance required movement on Tessa's part to be able to translate to actual manipulation of earthen material but...this was also just dirt.
For the last several minutes Tessa had sat on the floor with her bare feet in the kiddie pool , wriggling her toes in the cool soil, completely content to utterly ignore the task she was supposedly given with little to no direction , leaving her sometimes childlike mind to wander aimlessly. That was...until she heard the word 'fight', something she lived for.
In an instant she jumped up, stomping her foot into the dirt while clasping her hands together, drawing them apart and raising them up. The dirt in the pool moved as Tessa did, spreading out quickly aroud her stomp , then quickly condensed and rose up in the form of a large, thick shafted spear with a large crescent blade at the end. The faunus whipped her head side to side, looking side to side to see if she could find the ones fighting before finally settling on the darker skinned boy who'd attempted to comfort her earlier , and began ambling toward him, earthy spear resting on her shoulder as she grinned, hoping to get a piece of the action.

"I'll show you what a real Faunus can do..."...

XXXEli was truly a master at defusing any situation that evolved between them. The years they spent together truly allowed him to refine such an ability that no one else could ever dream to hold. The constant reassurance was one thing, that's what their relationship was often times... Reassurance and justification, something that she needed almost as much as she needed oxygen. It was just something she couldn't live without, and her poor feeble soul would fall to pieces. It had gotten a bit better over the years, a slow but sure progress to try and get her to stand on her own two feet... Eli was there every step of the way. Eli had continued to reassure her, but then would pull at another trump card. It was a carefully crafted sentence, that in passing to others would just sound like... Well, an old saying. If it had actually been directed at her mother, she would've quickly shut down. Her own mother was a witch she never wished to think of again, and her father was just as bad... Honestly, she could never tell which was worse, but that didn't matter. She still had a mother and father, those parents just had some... Unique individuality that others might find unsettling. Where some may find a variety of eyes and limbs unsettling, she found it as a comforting reminder whenever she found a creepy crawly. Spiders were actually quite wonderful. "A..actually... She told me... to be careful of you... cause you shot webs in her nose once. I'm still on my guard." Her words had begun to flow more naturally together, the last uproar of her being flustered finally subsiding as she thought back to such a fond memory.. She missed them deeply, Eli's mom and dad... They were some of the sweetest people she had ever met, and it only made sense that Eli was their son. ... They would've been proud to see him now. Sure, without a doubt, they were each other's home... That didn't mean they couldn't dwell on the past though, and acknowledge those who also gave them a home. For this boop, and this boop alone... Cali wouldn't have an outrageous outburst. No, not at all. She saw it coming, in fact. A permitted nose boop, that was met with her eyes crossing for but a moment to stare at the tip of her nose while her lips puckered. Eyelids fluttering, her lips would then shift to a heartwarming smile back to him that followed with a giggle, one that could melt the coldest of hearts. A smile that she would only give him, and him alone.

Being a monster was a term that held such a variety of meanings for the girl, but could only be smiled upon if Eli spoke the words. It was always meant as a joke, one that went back and forth between the two constantly like a game of tennis. For now, she would play the role of the monster, and he would be the mad scientist that created her. After all, he had the electricity... Now she just needed the bolts in the side of her head. There it was, a laugh. "The mad scientist, Elias Quinn, locked up and key is thrown away. Don't worry though, dear creator... Surely your monster will be locked away with you~ You'll have plenty of time to think about your crimes against humanity." The grin was wonderful, with soft pink cheeks radiating that she would be truly fine with such a concept. "It seems you've met a terrible fate, Dr. Quinn." She desperately wanted to scoot her chair closer to him, but she knew that would only cause more damage to the chair... And, that he needed his distance. At least her semblance required direct touch, his had a bit of an AOE.

Now that was a title she could get behind, Spider Queen. The mention of it first actually caused her to laugh, a most adorable laugh that was unrestricted and dissolved into a giggle. She honestly loved it, and often felt the part. Their lives with one another was their home through and through. Their home was a castle, and the two of them ruled together as king and queen. That actually brought a distinct memory back, from the days of their youth under the care of Eli's own parents. In the backyard, Eli had used his webs to stick cardboard together to create a wondrous kingdom. Cali wouldn't allow herself to touch such a prized kingdom in the risk of it falling to shambles, but happily provided the support of the people for their proclaimed king, Eli. The kingdom flourished, but crises came on the day that the King's mother had come out while they were playing and told Eli that he couldn't have been King without marrying a queen. The thought had never quite occurred to Cali especially, who in her still quite shut in mind had found herself wondering who king Eli might have taken to be his queen... In all honesty, it was bluntly obvious, and Cali had been declared his queen. Even if it was all in fun and games of some silly kids, it still made her heart flutter back then. Somehow, so many years later, it had still been a wonderful running theme between them. She loved it, and found herself staring longingly his way while reminiscing on such a silly memory as she watched her King continue to show his glory for her to awe in. The gloves once again were set aside, as to not ruin them any further. All she wanted to do was give Eli the proper applause he deserved, but would only prove to deserve more whenever he performed for her... Such vivid colored electricity, sparking and radiating around him and through his movements. It was truly a spectacle that she couldn't turn away from, and continued to watch as he began to weave his electric web around the dummy in a marvelous display of both his faunus ability and semblance. .. Sometimes she'd wonder, what kind of faunus would she have been? Hopefully not a rat, to fit in with her pestilence nature... Oh... Why did she have to think of that? She continued to hold a smile while watching the miraculous Eli continue his show but eventually broke her gaze just to shake the thought of that. It was... A bit disgusting, honestly. Though, she probably would have been... Looking down at herself, that's when she would notice the oddity that was unfolding. By now, she would've crashed to the ground. She's sat in wooden chairs long enough to know how long she had. Often times, if she watched closely, she would watch whatever she was touching sink and degrade... Crack, erode, rot... Whatever it was, it was a visual process and a physical feeling. But... There was nothing? Her eyes were slowly beginning to widen, lowing her face to her chair. The raw splinters of wood just about ceased the decay process altogether, the individual splinters standing up to her weight... She only had about a half inch, maybe less of wood that kept the chair intact under her butt... Could... Could it possibly mean...?

There was only one way to be sure. Time seemed to stop, and the mere concept of respiring became taxing. Cali's anxious eyes stared longingly at her own fingertips, taking every second she could to put off the inevitability of her curiosity. The muscles in her arm would tighten as she slowly raised her right hand, pulling the palm right to her face. Contact had not been made yet, no... Instead, her index and ring finger would twitch. So eagerly itching to make contact, but also fighting against her very nature to try and pull away from harm's way. It wasn't going to be an easy feat to get over, surpassing the fear of touching herself. Only a fool would push fate and bear the pain she had lived with her entire life. Then again, in that concept, she lived with such a fool every day of her life. Eli, who so foolishly took every moment of contact with her pestilence in strides, and wouldn't dare let her worry about the pain she inflicted on him. How was that any different than this moment, especially as the stars aligned so? The knot in her throat seemed impossible to swallow, but.. Even if she was choking, she would endure it, just as Eli had endured every moment of pain for her. Centimeter by centimeter, her fingertips would close the gap to her face. Finally managing to swallow the knot, she would brace herself and grit her teeth as her tips finally brushed against her skin.

For just this moment, she would feel how soft her hands truly were. There was no pain, no burning.. No rapid dryness that ate away at her very skin. No, it was just .. Something soft, gentle. The fingernail was sharp and hard, the skin delicate to the touch on both her face and fingers. Her fingers would begin to work their way up her cheek until her palm was fully pressed against her skin. That was when a tear glistened under the school light, trickling down her cheek and dripping onto her suit. She had never felt anything like it before, her own skin, or the skin of another that hadn't already suffered a hefty cost for trying to touch her. It was... Overwhelming. "E-Eli..." Her chest felt tight, and she'd wheeze in harshly as more tears began to travel so delicately down her cheek. That was another oddity, her tears actually making it down her cheek without disappearing. "J..just... l..look..." It was nearly impossible to form a coherent sentence, it instead turned into sudden breaths that dissolved into her being right on the borderline of sobbing. She'd suck it in, biting her lips and she clenched her eyes shut. Her weak sobs were muffled as she tried to fight it, but would cough weakly as her sobs continued to escape her grasp. Where the girl once had to form confidence, she was now overwhelmed with new hope and joy that she couldn't fathom. She just couldn't contain herself. It didn't hurt, meaning... Maybe she wouldn't hurt Eli, either.

Her comment about his mother's warning brought a bitter sweet feeling to his chest. It was a fond memory. He'd only been a small child at the time, maybe four or five. He had by no means meant for his webs to shoot straight up her nose. He'd actually been trying to climb his way into her arms, but he was still knew to his faunus ability as well as his aim. So, rather than stringing the. To her shoulder, she'd gotten a shot straight to the face. They had both laughed, despite how long it had taken her to get the sticky strings from her hair and out of her nose... on the brightside, her moth had been closed. It was one of many stories she had kept close to her, even sharing it with Cali. It was a story he would always keep close to him, along with so many others, because she was gone now. It didn't matter how far he came, the loss of his parents would always be painful. He would always miss them. There would always be a place in his heart for them, even if.Cali was his home now... even if his heart belonged to her. Besides, he knew she missed him just as much as he did. His parents had been better guardians to her than her parents ever were... apart from the few short years before everything changed. "Hey, that was an accident! As I'm sure you are fully aware." He states, holding his hands up in a mock surrender of sorts, giving her a flash of that teasing smirk, though it wasn't quite the same with that far off look on his eyes. However, any of the bitterness was chased away by the utterly sweet and adorable smile that graced her lips. It was his smile, one that was meant only for him and could always chase away even the darkest of storms.

Their playful banter went on, a constant back and forth as it always did. He would push and she would push back. She would put forth a joke and he would play along. It might have looked silly to those watching, but he wouldn't have wanted it sny other way. Plus, he had managed the one thing he'd been aiming for this entire time. "I should certainly be locked up and punished for my crimes... but I'm not so sure being locked up for all time and eternity with a creature as adorable as you could truly be considered punishment... that sounds more like a reward." He teased, glancing at her over his shoulder as he worked and sending her playful wink. However, despite the smirk, it wasn't that far off from the truth. Granted he didn't really want to spend his life locked up in a dungeon, but he couldn't possibly imagine it without Cali at his side. Looking st the two, he was clearly the independent one. He could do things on his own, didn't mind the spot like, he didn't need Cali's support... except for he did, just not in the same way that she needed his. Every decision he made was always for her better good, always to keep her safe, happy, and by his side. He needed her as much as he needed the blood that coursed through his veins. She was an integral part of his life. Without her, it would not be the same. Not just his light, but the world. To him, she was a light that burned brighter than the sinner, and were she to fade or walk away. The world, his world, would be nothing mire than black and grey.

Her reaction to his little nickname for her was even better than he could have hoped for. That adorable, melodic laugh that bubbled out into a fit of giggles. It was music to his hair. That rosy cheeked smile of hers was just the cherry on too. Even though she didn't say anything about it, Eli could guess the exact memory that had come to mind. The spider had always always had quite the cre as five imagination. His knack for making things, paired with the aid of his webs, only increased his endeavors as a child. His backyard was a place full of magical lands and far away kingdoms. Silly childhood fantasies that he brought to live with nothing more than some old cardboard boxes and some string. He shared it all with Cali, and even though she couldn't touch it... he was always sure to make her an integral part of the kingdom anyway. After all, he was king. He had that power. That is, until his mom came forth to express he couldn't have been king without a queen. Eli hadn't realized it at the time, but he definitely saw it now. She had seen the way the two felt about each other long before the were even old enough to fully understand what those feelings were. Even now, the feelings all the stronger, they knew exactly how they other felt. It was completely apparent to anyone who looks upon them. It was clear in the eyes, their smiles, their actions. There was a deep connection that could be described as nothing short of love, and yet... they had never actually said the words out loud. They'd never truly had a conversation about where they stood. Still, even all those years about Eli had chosen her as his queen, and that had not ch as need in all the time that had passed.

Eli had been deep at work, trying to make his show for her as completely magnificent as possible. After all, he was doing it all for her and she'd seen it all before. He had to make it bigger, grander, top it all off. Maybe he should have been more worried about completing his assignment than impressing Cali, but in around about way, she was helping him do just that. Trying to top everything she'd seen before was pushing him to his limits, just as the teacher had asked. However, he stopped when he heard her voice calling his name. Initially he was concerned. He spun around on his heal, striding towards her quickly. His eyebrows were furrowed together, forehead wrinkled in worry, electric eyes defensive... ready to protect. Seeing the tears on her face did not help the situation. His eyes shot around the room, as if he were trying to figure out exactly who he needed to punch. But, there was no one near them. No one had caused Cali, to cry. It was something else. Ig was only then that it all clicked into place. The tears, still wet as they fell down her cheeks. Her fingers, creasing her own face and leaving no signs of damage. She was doing it, suspending the decay. Just as he always knew she could.

He practically sprinted across the aisle to her, dropping to his knees beside her. His hand did not hesitate to cup the other side of her face, and it was a truly splendid feeling. Her skin beneath his fingertips was always wonderful, something he always craved... but this was different. For the first time he was just feeling her. Her soft tender skin beneath his fingers without all the usual side effects. There was no dryness, no rash, no irritation. Of course he would take that all if it meant being near her, but there was something about this that made is heart warm. "I told you that you could do it." He told her, a wide grin spreading on his lips. He smiled at her for a moment, but then, something else consumed him, and he couldn't help himself. It was something he'd maybe wanted to do for a long time now. Somethi g he hadn't quite realized he'd wanted. Something he knew she would never allow under normal circumstances. Sure, he could get into big trouble with it. They were in a classroom after all, but the teacher was distracted with the students she was working with and everyone else was focused on their own tasks. So, he leaned forward and in the gentlest of motions, softly caressed his lips against her own. It lasted but a moment, but it was the most blissful moment of his life. Her lips were soft and warm, tender against his own. For once there was no fear of pain or decay. There was no reason for Cali to have to push away. For just the moment, it w as s only the two of them.
