[Solo][Chapter 3] Helm of Oak and Mantle of Roses!Camilla returned cold, tired, and hungry but in good enough shape and after a good soak in the lake plus a hearty meal Camilla was off to bed! The nect morning she was hard at work! This journey a quest for a helmet would be a experiment! There were several path's she'd not taken and she decided today would be the day she'd take them! Eager and excited once prepared the pare wasted no time in starting the journey!
The first new path Camilla would take would be in the mountains! It was a narrow rocky path marked dangerous on all the maps she'd seen but she figured she'd try it anyway! ...Which was a mistake! At one point Camilla had to dismount Rosewood and walk in front of her... And it would be a single moment of unattractiveness that would send Camilla right over the cliff! Fortunately she was able to catch herself but at the cost of some food... And so once she had climbed back onto the path she and Rosewood made the unanimous decision not to go down that path ever again!
Another bad thing about the path was it took longer and so when the pare enter the Forest they stick to their usual route... Which was actually as mistake as well! A certain horse hating giant spider decides to visit them this quest and unfortunately forces Rosewood to flee! And forces Camilla to go the rest of the way on foot...
Camilla had learned from the last quest that pacing yourself was important and so she was very careful with her food! So when she got to the Dwarven Mountains she was still in really good shape! And now that she was at the Dwarven Mountains it was time to try another new path! Again she choose the narrow less traveled path and soon started to wonder if she made the right choice... Not because of all the trap but because of the lack of traps! The cleanliness and seeming safety of the path spoke of being a trap itself! However... Camilla hoped that there were other reasons behind the path's state and soon allowed her guard to fall just slightly... This turned out to be her biggest mistake yet over the whole Quest! Shortly before she would reach the top she'd hit a trip wire! The wire immediately would release a rain of pressured arrows down on her! Because her guard had been down she had taken longer then she should have to dodge out of the way and ended up suffering because of it!
She would discover myriad of cuts would litter her body after crawling to a rock and almost completely undressing... The wounds ranged in size and depth which meant they'd be hard to deal with... It took a good while to get them all taken care of and she needed to eat as well... Once finished she gets up determined to get her helmet which was of obvious need now! Unfortunately because of her alcohol soaked bandages Camilla would find herself in a lot of pain as she'd step out onto the summit... However maybe because of this she'd suddenly find the summit's beauty striking... However beautiful or not her helmet awaited her! And so she slowly steps onto the peak!
Unfortunately carelessness was her bane this quest and a deep patch of snow would cost her a good bit of food! Still while disappointed she was close to her goal and with a determination reaches the peak! The helmet was held up victoriously before being put away... Her hair was too matted with blood to want to wear it just yet... While the quest seemed to be over there would be one more surprise in store! Back down at the Summit Camilla would meet a old man claiming to be a Wizard! He would gift her with a sack of food that would make her realize something very important! However before she could thank him he was gone!
The Quest for the Helmet of Oak had been a learning quest indeed... She'd learned that trusting maps were important, That sometimes fleeing was better then fighting, That you should be careful taking the path less traveled and always keep your guard up, And finally that one should always be thankful for found food because a kind old wizard might be the one taking his time to give it to you!
