"I.... I know the feeling." Trisha sighed a bit to her self. "Though it might just be because we've been fighting too long." A loosing battle. Trisha wondered if Sir Lancelot merely sent them to their doom. Looking up at the castle as it was now, it felt even if she secured the exit, even if they setting proper healing, that there was no hope of winning the battle. The shadows were as much without as within the castle.

Trisha shook herself. No bad thoughts. This battle would not be won with bad spirits. s eh put her hands to her face and rubbed and then smiled at Marosa. "But this time, let's do our best ok?" she reached over and grabbed his/her hands holding on for just a moment and giving them a good squeeze. "This time we'll make a difference. Like the new white knight said, there is no one who isn't important in this battle."

It was time to go... Camilla knew it would happen... Knew they'd have to return... The Blessing hit that fact home and now she stood geared in full Artifact Armor with her Buyou Rouzu at her side... She had been preparing to go back and she was ready! But the question now would be... Did she bring Rosewood or fly... The answer was simple... She would fly! She wished not to endanger her previous mare's life... She could find another Rider if Camilla fell and she felt no need to possibly forfeit the horses life! She also had other reasons for wanting to fly... heh...

And so it was as Shayne mounted up and begged her to be safe she smiles and nods "I will!" she chirps in a surprisingly cheery tone despite the task that awaited them! Camilla waited till Shayne was out of sight before spreading her wings as they'd stiffen and cling to the back her clothes becoming a personal hang-glider she'd smile before lightly lifting off the ground with the aid of the infinite invisible breeze... Oh Shayne was going to be so surprised! She thinks happily before accepting the currier bag full of writing utensils she frowns a bit unsure if she'd ever use them... Still... What was about to happen needed to be recorded accurately and she did have the blessing of being able to read and write... However if it came down to fighting or writing she'd have to pardon herself from the writing...

The bag also came with some medical supplies and a small bit of food... Good her Questing taught her preparedness was very important! Finally after making sure the bag was securely on her she wills the breeze behind her and follows the other knights...

The silence broken only by the occational sound of a distant battle was to say the least... unnerving... Least for most it would be... Camilla found the whole experience rather exciting! She was going to help save Camelot! And she always did love battling and adventure... While glad she hadn't pledged to Morgan er... Morgana Camilla did feel that if she hadn't gone Gold maybe she'd have gone Red... However now was not the time for retrospect and as the castle comes into view a serious frown tugs at her lips... The Castle was... Writhing almost with black crystals... The once proud castle was corrupted with the blackness of them... Vain after vain shot from the stone making it look more like some beast rather then a sanctuary for the weary... "This is not good at all..." she says finally after pulling up next to Shayne... She crosses her arms and closes her eyes in thought while hovering horse height next to him...

Stepping from the strange lake, Verusha felt a heaviness about him that he'd not felt before. Or maybe he had but just not recently... it was odd. Shaking himself off, he ran a hand through the half of his head that contained the long bangs, tousling them a bit, as he rubbed at the scalp beneath. He was starting to feel drained, and confused even more than before. But it was time to head back. No time to dawdle.

Heading back was uncomfortable, from the thick tension that hung in the air. It could be cut with his very sword, in fact. The silence was long, and felt as though if anyone said a single word, or letter, it'd break the spell that was looming upon them. Really, it wasn't the best state for moral. With it already being nearly depleted, some kind of rallying seemed more necessary. They needed to feel some invigoration! Get the determination fired up! Hearing the cries of anguish, pain, in the battles beyond their reach, made Verusha's gut clench. A natural instinct wanted to go charging in to help, but it was useless. There was nothing that could be done.

And as the sight of the once beautiful castle and town that laid around it appeared before them, a sensation that probably was akin to crestfallen twinged in Verusha's stomach. It was being overtaken... overrun, this little area that had once been filled with hope and possibility.

The journey from the lake and back towards the castle was something bittersweet to Wrath, who was both eager for the coming battle and for a chance to prove himself worthy of the title bestowed upon him, but also hesitant, yearning for more time, for more of the peace that the lake had provided, for more moments of making new memories with his beloved Na'ima.

But time was short, and they had known that it would be. The darkness sought to spread out into the rest of the world, and they had been called to action, again, as they had known they would be. The journey was not long, or particularly arduous, but a sinking feeling had begun to settle in the depths of Wrath's stomach all the same, a feeling that only grew and grew the closer to their destination they came.

When finally he looked upon the castle itself, a structure once so sound and strong, the place where he-no, they- had journeyed to in hopes of a safe haven, was no longer the stronghold against the oncoming darkness that it once was.

It was mutilated, shot through with crystal that was somehow both beautiful and horrifying. Like a weed, it was choking out that what had once been a symbol of hope.

He stared at it grimly, before moving onward.

He was no one and that was the truth. As he drudged the long march to Camelot, he couldn't help but feel small amongst an army of winged knights and great knights. Everyone had contributed so much to the effort and here he was; wingless and contributionless.

He'd been there, certainly. He'd seen Gawain die, he'd been in the treasure room. He'd escaped with everyone from the prison, gone to the lake; he'd been there. Yet he'd somehow managed to meld himself into the background, like he didn't really exist at all. Invisible might have been a good word to describe him.

The horses moved slowly, as if they wanted to purposefully give him more time to think about his past shortcomings. It was gloomy, and his tabard seemed to mock him more than encourage him.

Finally they arrived at the castle and Lock looked up, afraid. Unlike the other knights, he wasn't filled with bombastic speech and eager footsteps. He moved with trepidation, well aware that this castle was most likely his coffin.

[ENTER - LEX]

Alexei did not belong among these Knights; in fact, he was not sure why he was with them any longer. Why the knight had not cast himself off a cliff, or simply stayed in the prison cell was a mystery to him.

Truly, there was no mystery. The answer was clear; he was too much a coward to face Death of his own will. He'd brought the illusion Morgan to meet Death -

But that was it, wasn't it? Morgan had been an illusion, a trap laid by the Red Queen. This was all her doing - this was her fault. If he hadn't been the one to spring it, some other knight would. Alexei was not at fault; none of them were.

The thought soothed him as they began to trek back to Camelot, but the peace was quickly shattered, the black spires growing from the castle the brick that broke the tranquil window.

He had no attachments to Camelot any longer; all had fallen, there had never been a sense of home or belonging - but this was a direct attack against them, the Knights. They had been through much already, must they go through more?

Of course they did. And they would prevail.
