"Wake up."

The voice sounds far, far away, distant. Your ears are ringing.

"Wake up." It is more urgent now, and you feel something tug at you, a haze dissipating. Your limbs unstiffen, you exhale, warmth seeps into your body, and you are once again in control.

You are in the throne room again, and the black crystals are gone. Everything is broken, shattered, the castle in shambles, and yet the figure standing in front of you is perfect in every shape and form, the epitome of majesty and glory. The Great King is not dead. The Great King is returned. His sword rests by his side, and even though it is sealed and chained, you feel it, you feel the name resting on the tip of your tongue, the memory of its name sealed away. The sheath calls to you, and you feel a strange sadness from it, as if it somehow resonated with Lancelot's death.

The Great King looks up, and you too cannot help but do the same. The ceiling is exposed, the sky is dark, and above it is a vortex, ugly and horrific. Shadows move all directions, and then it occurs to you they are fighting each other. A shape similar to a dragon buries its teeth in what looks like a harpy as several small shadow birds attack it.

"The final stage of the beginning of the war has begun," the Great King speaks, and your gaze returns to him. You cannot help it, his voice commands the attention of all, "it is time for us to begin as well. There is still hope for those of us who remain."

He does not draw his weapon, but turns around. "Now, show me where the gate is, Merlin."

Behind the Great King stands Merlin, appearing behind him like a shadow. Your throat locks up, you cannot speak. You know what Merlin is capable up, and the dread returns again. The Great King has not noticed. The two of them walk forward, back into the room beyond the throne, back to where Lancelot died, back to where you knew you tore him to pieces. They speak of plans of which you understand very little.

And there is no blood in the room. There is simply a mirror, a very familiar mirror housing a gate. On the other side of the mirror is a twisted figure made of shadows. It looks feminine, perhaps, and it screams in a language unknown to you as it slams its fists against the mirror. On its head rests broken red crown. You feel like you recognize it, but the memory too ebbs.

"My liege," Merlin kneels next to the Great King, "it is time."

"Show me," the Great King speaks, "Show me what must be done to save what remains of us."

You notice the terrible smile Merlin hides barely under his hood as he moves forward and with a single sweep of his staff shatters the mirror. Something screams from behind the mirror and then scatters into thousands of pieces, red butterflies that try to vainly escape only to instantly dissolve mid-flight.

What remains is the gate, unsealed.

"Great Knights," Merlin calls, and those who would consider themselves Great Knights move forward, unable to control their actions again. "Your time of sacrifice has come. Step through this gate, and it will open for the first and last time."

There are seven seals that encompass the gate, and you notice them belatedly, each one a different colour, representing each Great Knight faction. Merlin taps his staff against the gate and it resonates, as those who would call themselves Great Knights take another step forward.

"Merlin," the Great King suddenly interrupts, "is this necessary?"

"It is necessary. It requires exactly seven Great Knights to open the gate and seal the darkness of this world."

One by one, all the Great Knights step forward. As each Great Knight moves forward, placing their hand on the gate, the seals slowly unlock. As all seven are placed, the gate shifts. It is something you cannot tangibly see but feel. You feel as if beyond the gate there is something waiting for you at the other side, a world perhaps, and it briefly tugs at you, lulling you forward.

"Do not gaze into the gate once it opens!" the Great King warns, "it will drive you to madness."

The gate shakes, the doors slowly, finally moving-

- and then nothing.

The gates do not open. The sacrificed Great Knights remain. There is a moment of silence, and confusion.

"Merlin," the Great King places one hand on his sword hilt in a moment of sudden clarity, "what have you done."

Merlin simply raises his staff, his chained weapon, black crystals once again forming around him. This time though, they do not impede the knights, they simply form facets, reflections for all to gaze at. "It is not what I have done, but what I will complete." He does not laugh, and there is no victory in his gaze. It is void. He strikes his staff end onto the floor, and the chains around his staff break, unsealing the weapon. Immediately, the staff transforms into its true shape, a long ebony creation with a dark black crystal, the same colour as the crystals surrounding them.

As the chain on his weapon shatters, so do all the chains on each and every knight. The lock sealing each weapon simply dissolves into black mist, an enchantment created by the most powerful sorcerer of Camelot.

"Merlin!" shouts the Great King, but his voice is distant again. You cannot hear it past the pain as you seize up, as you instantly collapse, as your heart stops, as your lungs give away, as it feels like a thousand crystals lodge into your flesh and cover you in agony.

Your weapon is consuming you and you feel from it a great uncontrollable hunger and confusion. Shadows uncoil from your weapon, wrapping around your arms. Your body moves, possessed by the weapon alone, and you are simply the vessel. You can only stare at your reflection in horror as it jolts forwards.

Merlin turns his staff towards the Great King. The chains around the Great King's weapon slowly begin to disappear one by one.

"These weapons were once mine," Merlin encroaches on the Great King's territory. "They do not listen to your commands. Their power returns to me, and they serve my army. You were always the perfect pawn, everything I gave you took: your weapon, your power, your legacy, and even your name. I will take it back now. This is my revenge."

The Great King staggers backwards, against the gate. The last chain on his weapon unseals, and the lock falls into the ground with a loud clack.

Silence. The sword remains the same, unchanging.

In that instant of opportunity, Merlin staggers backwards, defending. It seems like the Great King has the upper hand, but Merlin calls out and you, hatred seeping through each word, and your weapon moves with a life of its own, forcing you to attack Great King. There is another clash of weapon against weapon-

And suddenly you are in control. You are a knight again, and you wield your weapon. For a moment you are victorious-

- And then you are spectator as the hunger takes over again. The struggle blurs. Your memories begin to strain under the pressure. You were once complete. A creature perhaps, made of pure shadow, forged into the shape of a weapon and sealed. A knight perhaps, once upholding honour and glory. You cannot remember.

You cannot remember everything else fades away, leaving just empty white.

In front of you are two doors. One is a gate made of pure blue, and you feel your memories swirling around it, memories of becoming a Knight, of your sacrifice, of honour, and valour. The second is of dark black, and you feel a set of equally strong but opposite memories. They speak of pain and longing and shadows, of being robbed of a life you once had, sealed, used, over and over until all you sought was revenge.

You cannot remember which door was yours.

THE TIME OF CHOICES:

Welcome to the final corridor of choices. Who you side with will determine the final outcome of the battle. Good luck finale players.

If you have NOT done any of the previous chapter prompts, but would like to participate in this final chapter, you may still do so! Just tally up what your character has done SO FAR. If there is a special prompt/ your character is part of a special role, please also respond to the rp prompt there as well while replying.

gaia_crown [ STEP 1 ] [ RESPOND TO THE FIRST POST ]: Read the above rp post and respond to it in this thread. When you are done that response, move to step 2.

gaia_crown [ STEP 2 ] [ CREATE A MEMORIES SOLO THREAD ]:

Create a thread titled [ MEMORY SOLO ][ CHAR NAME HERE ] in this subforum. This is now your solo memory thread. For the steps following, write them in your solo memory thread.

Memories now peel away from the doors and move towards you. Each one is different, and some contradicting. Click on the spoiler below, and see which gaia_star prompts are applicable to you. Add up the amount of black OR blue points you have. The door your character chooses is the one with the higher points (if you break even you get to pick). You will also need to respond BRIEFLY to the rp prompt for each one applicable. You may consolidate prompts into one post in your memory solo thread. Each prompt just needs to be a line or two, nothing more, so you aren't writing essays forever. The only prompts you need to acknowledge are the ones applicable to you. Please respond/tally ALL PROMPTS APPLICABLE. A good example would be something like:

- "Dialogue from memory one-"

- A flashing blur from memory two-

- etc etc

- Memories are divided into WEAPON or KNIGHT. If it is a knight memory, it is something that happened to your character as a knight PRIOR to their memories being unsealed. If it is a weapon memory, it is something that happened to the weapon (which has assimilated your character). You can make up a weapon memory, but remember that weapons are creatures of shadows (ie: pre Halloween) so create a memory accordingly! Shadow creatures can serve either Merlin originally, be free roaming agents, or serve the Sidhe queen. They can either be demon, reaper, ghost, undead, or monster, of your choice.

- If your character does NOT HAVE A SEALED WEAPON it is assumed some time passed by icly in which they gained one and became a full knight. It is up to you whether or not you want to backdate rp it here. If they were not gm quoted you can make up a sealed medieval weapon as long as it is within medieval weapon standards. You do not get the three sacred cards attached to the requirement though (ie: if you only had one card, and you are now a full knight, you still only have one card).

gaia_star ANYONE WHO HAS UNSEALED THEIR WEAPON: Instantly blue door. You gain control of your weapon, and it responds to you. You walk through the blue door regardless, and realize the actions of your weapon and you are one. Through fighting with it, it has bonded with you. You walk through the door, two as one. Your weapon will now also speak to you in battle. You may now use a charged attack. This is basically a special version of your existing attack. Roll 8d4 to unleash it, and the damage you do is equal to your roll. You can only use it after successfully hitting a monster 3 times in succession. You CAN use this in the arena.

gaia_star ANYONE WHO HAS THE SIDHE QUEEN'S MARK: +10 blue door points. You feel the intense hatred she has for Merlin. This is her last parting gift to you.

gaia_star IF YOU FOUGHT PERCIVAL: +5 black door points. A memory unlocks. You feel Percival's despair as he fights you, and it is overlapped with another memory. You have seen Percival before, and you fought against him as he pinned you down and trapped you. It is a weapon memory.

gaia_star IF YOU FOUGHT MORGAN: +5 black door points. A memory unlocks. You feel Morgan's anger at you, and you realize you have seen the Sidhe Queen before, in their true form. It is a weapon memory.

gaia_star IF YOU FOUGHT GAWAIN: +5 blue door points. A memory unlocks. You realize you have met Gawain before. He helped save those sick in your village in the past. It is a past knight memory.

gaia_star IF YOU FOUGHT MORDRED: +5 black or blue door points (your choice). Your memories are jumbled related to Mordred. He appears to be both kind and terrible. You remember he was never on your side.

gaia_star IF YOU FOUGHT GALAHAD: +5 black door points. A memory unlocks. You recall seeing the grail Galahad held before. You encountered him while guarding the grail from him. This is a weapon memory.

gaia_star IF YOU NOMINATED YOURSELF TO LANCELOT FOR GREAT KNIGHT: +5 blue door points. A memory unlocks. You have met Lancelot before. He is the one that inspired you to become a knight. This is a past knight memory.

gaia_star IF YOU WERE IN THE PRISON: +5 black door points. A memory unlocks. You realize you have been chained before. You feel pain, fear, and then nothing as your body twists into a weapon and you are sealed. This is a weapon memory.

gaia_star IF YOU WERE IN THE SANCTUARY ORP: +5 blue door points. A memory unlocks. You remember a small fragment of the life you once had, and your family. This is a knight memory.

gaia_star IF YOU WERE IN THE TOWER ORP. +5 blue door points. A memory unlocks. You remember that you once came across an enchanted artifact. It contained a flash of your future. You saw a future where you would die. This is a knight memory (make up a random death).

gaia_star IF YOU WERE IN THE lake spirit tales. +5 blue door points. A memory unlocks. You remember that not all shadows are terrible, and some are simply here to help. You recall encountering one in the past, and talking peacefully with it. This is a knight memory.

gaia_star IF YOU ARE A BLACK/RED/GREEN KNIGHT: +5 black door points. A memory unlocks. You remember coming to this world as a shadow creature, having to fight others for space and land. You remember trying to find yourself, only to be swept in a terrible battle between the horsemen, Morgana, and of course Camelot. This is a weapon memory.

gaia_star IF YOU ARE A BLUE/GOLD/WHITE KNIGHT: +5 blue door points. A memory unlocks. You remember what brought you to Camelot in the first place. It was the collapse of everything around you. It was the despair that drove you forward and gave you determination. This is a knight memory.

gaia_star IF YOU ARE A VIOLET KNIGHT: +5 EITHER black or blue door points (your pick). A memory unlocks. You remember a memory of you having to make a decision, and you running away from it. This is a knight OR weapon memory.

gaia_star IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN THREE SACRED CARDS: +5 black door points. Your indecision burns strong. A memory unlocks. You remember being sealed away, as a weapon, forever chained, weapon. This is a weapon memory.

gaia_star IF YOU HAVE FIVE OR MORE SACRED CARDS: +5 blue door points. Your loyalty to serve burns strong. A memory unlocks. You remember training to one day become a knight. This is a knight memory.

gaia_star IF YOU ARE A GREAT KNIGHT: +10 blue door points. Your loyalty to serve burns strong. A memory unlocks. You remember looking up to a great knight. This is a knight memory.

gaia_crown [ STEP 3 ] [ WEAPON OR KNIGHT? ]: After you have tallied up your point total, see if your resurface as a weapon (black door) or knight (blue door). Again if your points are even, you can PICK which one. In your MEMORY SOLO, have your character consolidate all their memories and come to a decision of what they are. As they come to a conclusion, feel free to write an exit post as they move to the following thread.

KNIGHT: Your character undoubtedly is a knight. They move toward sthe blue door. With what few memories they have, they stumble forward. Go HERE.

WEAPON: Your character is undoubtedly a weapon, now unsealed. A creature of shadows. They move towards the black door. With what few memories they have, they stumble forward. Go HERE.

Noemi watched, carefully as the knights attacked Lancelot, her own hands, killing a knight.

And then they were being moved, her body being moved to another room. She felt the drain of energy. The desperate call to tell the great king that Merlin was amiss. That he was wrong and terrible.

But she couldn't do a thing. She was not strong enough to break away from Merlin's hold.

She felt herself descend. A hunger controlling her. And she disappeared as herself.

She was a Shadow. Milo. There was a shadow. Milo.

Where was Milo. She need Milo.....

And then it was white.

And she couldn't remember.

Numb.

That's what he felt right now. Shun slowly opened his eyes as he heard a voice calling to him, telling him to wake up. With a groan, he pushed himself up, staring as he could see the Great King before him. He... he wasn't dead. And that sword he had. A brilliant blade, yet he could not recall its name. Gritting his teeth, he rubs his head, looking down at his own weapons. Ones that were now coated with Lancelot's blood. What spell. Madness had overtaken him to do such things?

That went to the back of his mind as the King continued to speak.

It was time. The War was coming to a close. It meant his time was coming as well. However, he paused when he noticed Merlin there. Waiting alongside the King. No. This wasn't right. He could not be trusted!

Before he could try and warn the Great King, it was already time to move forth. A mirror which sealed away some sort of red queen sat in the room. He soon found himself moving against his own volition. Wait. No. Something wasn't right. This had to be a trap. The seals had begun to unlock, but then...nothing happened.

He still lived.

With a furrowed brow, he looked around, then turned towards Merlin. Of course. This was the trap, wasn't it?

Taking a step back, he let out a hiss, soon noting that the chains were all breaking free. Shadows begin to consume his form.

"No..." he utters, before watching helplessly as the Great King managed to assault the sorceror. But then...

The two gates came to view. And everything was numb once more.

There was blood dripping from her quarterstaff.

A blunt weapon, meant for striking, not slicing. Estel had used one even before she had picked up her sacred weapon... well, she didn't remember why anymore, but she had never drawn blood with it. There was blood on her weapon, now, Lancelot's blood (what have you done?), because he had already been bleeding by the time she got near enough to strike him.

She covered her mouth and retched, struggling to stay standing. The great king - and Merlin...

She took a step forward. Had she wanted to do that? She didn't think so, she couldn't think... and yet she kept moving, slowly, walking closer to touch the gate. It felt like... there was something there, something she wanted to see, somewhere she wanted to go. And yet--

Nothing. What was she doing? Why was she touching the gate?

And then a sudden starburst-hot bolt of pain took Estel from standing to lying on the ground, struggling for breath.

It took her a moment to recover, but by the time she had used her quarterstaff to push her to her feet, she knew - she knew who she was again.

Her eyes locked onto the blue door.

Chel felt the one thing she never wanted to: puppeted.

Attacking Lancelot didn't just feel good. It felt right. Merlin had been the one to grant her power; she was more than happy to bash in Lance's body with her sword for Merlin. She would have done it anyways even if she wasn't puppeted. The power was hers and hers alone; no one would take it from her.

She remembered nothing but darkness afterward. A scene played before her and she sat and watched with glee. It was everything she wanted. The betrayal, the cataclysmic failure of it all. Destruction.

Revenge.

When Merlin says the word she's not ashamed to admit it excites her. If her mouth could move she would tell him to raze the building itself.

If it would keep her power, she would do it.

Everything recedes to a hazy white color. She submits.

[ Ridon ]

This wasn't what he wanted. The Great Knight watched in horror has he cut down Lancelot with his fellow knights. He watched in horror as his shield was splashed with red blood and he could not control his body. No, this wasn't what he was supposed to do. No, he was supposed to bring hope, bring peace, save Camelot----!

He closed his eyes and suddenly the Great King himself was standing there... and Merlin. No. No Merlin what was going on. No. This wasn't right! He didn't want to sacrifice himself anymore! No! Stop, stop stopstopstopstosptosptospt! He screamed and screamed by no sound came out,he couldn't stop it, he couldn't make it stop.

He was touching the gate now. His fingers brushed against the lock, the purple lock. No, he didn't want this anymore, it was all wrong, it was all twisted. It wasn't... it wasn't!

It wasn't. He blinked, not sacrificed to the gate. What... what was going on... His eyes snapped to Merlin then, great crystals exploding from his staff. Then white hot pain took the Great Knight over and he screamed for real now. His voice cracked and he crumpled to the floor, his weapon white hot and hungry. It billowed shadows and consumed him, moving him as though he was a puppet. What army? What was Merlin planning wha---?!

For a moment Ridon was himself. He was in command of his weapon, not hte other way around and he was---

He was nothing.

Who was he again?

A pair of doors floated in front of him, and he tilted his head. He'd... had one of these. Right?

Who was he?

Alexei groaned as the words lured him from the unwelcome slumber. His hands moved over his face, blood smearing his nose and lips. Blood from Lancelot, their one last protector - the final beacon, extinguished. There was no time to mourn the loss of the White Knight, nor the loss of their bodily control. The Great King stood there, and he was speaking.

Alexei looked at the man with haggard eyes but a swollen heart. The man who he'd pledged to serve, who had offered him safety. His eyes were drawn quickly to the sheathed sword at the King's hip, the weapon he so clearly remembered, but could not recall. The glittering white sheathe seemed to mourn, the blood of Lancelot on Lex's face burning while he looked at it.

Then the Great King spoke more, and summoned Merlin. Alexei glared at the shadowed man - something was wrong. Why was he smiling? This was no occasion for smiling.

The sacrifice was another trap, and he roared when the chains shattered, cut short as he fell forward and the pain, dear God the pain. These were wounds he could not heal, not with alcohol or fire.

Chained, crippled, thrown into a pile. Used as a battering ram.

A stern woman's harsh face broken into a rare smile; red eyes burning with cold fire.

Hatred. Vengeance. Overcome, overtake, kill, kill, kill-

Escape. Heal. Save and renew; redeem.

The shadows ate and ate, he was parrying the blow of one knight in one moment and striking the Great King in the next.

Before him stood two doors, Blue and Black.

Na'ima sat up, pressing the heel of her hand to her forehead. What happened? Eventually she looked up and around, seeing those around her until her gaze stopped on the one unfamiliar figure in the room - the Great King. Golden amber eyes widened at the sight of him, but her attention was soon drawn to the sky above them.

She was brought back to the present by an announcement made to the Great Knights. One of sacrifice. Her heart stopped. No. Na'ima finally moved, or well..she tried. The Knight attempted to stand, struggling to her knees in her desperation to stop Wrath from going up there. No, not him. She didn't give a damn about the others, only him. Stop. Don't. Go. Stop!

It was the greatest relief of all when Wrath did not perish, when nothing happened. The events that followed crushed that relief, throwing her into a whirlwind of confusion.

Pain... Cold... Blood... Voices... No... A voice... It's... Calling... Wake up... Wake up!

Slowly Camilla would regain both warmth and consciousness while exhaling a sharp breath... Soon her limbs would begin to unstiffen as a voice distant and muddied calls her... "Nheg..." eyes would flutter open however for a long moment she'd just lay there as the stiffness dissipates as her foggy mind tries to catch up to process what was happening... Finally she would sit up looking blearily around the Throne room... It was wrecked but... ho-!

Sudden memories of what she'd done! No! Been forced to do return to her! "Lancelot! N-no!" she cries as tears begin to form! A splash of red on Buyou Rouzu's blade would catch her attention and cause her stomach to roil! S-she and all the other Knights had killed Lancelot! His look of betrayal searing it's way into her mind... She had failed to protect another Great Knight again! No! She'd done more then failed she'd been part of his death herself! For a very long moment she'd just sit there trying desperately to hold back the tears which longed to drop... Eventually though at long as she would stave off the tears and look up...

Suddenly her eyes would widen as she finally notices the man standing before her! "T-the Great King!" she gasps before practically falling over herself to get up! Quickly she bows feeling anything less would be a affront to him before starting in awe... He was everything she had imagined the Great King to be... Majestic... Noble... Strong... Like Galahad, Percival, and Lancelot all combined! Despite her awe her eyes would soon drift to the chained weapon at his side... Sadness would wash over her face as it soon became clear that it was Lancelot's weapon... It's sheath seemed to resonate a deep sadness as it's name escaped her...

Frowning sadly she would follow the Great King's graze skyward only to gasp and stumble a step back in surprise! "W-wow!" she gasps wide eyed as a epic battle seemed to be going on right above their heads! Soon the Great King would speak and she couldn't help but look at him... The beginning of the great war...? There still might be hope for them yet? She doesn't have time to ask any questions as the king turns towards none other then Merlin! Instantly her skin prickles and her heart jumps into her throat! However before she could even say anything they were on the move off to the room where Lancelot met his end!

Quickly she follows them as concern for the Great King swells within her! Once in the room she goes to warn the King but her throat locks up! She can't speak! Panicking slightly Camilla looks around the room and to her great confusion finds no blood... Soon confusion overtakes panic as the Great King and Merlin talk of plans she knew naught of instead she focus on a familiar mirror... one she wasn't going anywhere near! However behind the mirror's glass was a shadowy figure one she recognized... Or thought she did... The more she tried to think if it the less the memory would come until finally the pare speak! Still her throat was locked up keeping her from speaking and she was forced to simply watch while a deep knot of dread begins coiling in her stomach...

She had seen Merlin's malicious grin, watched as he smashed the mirror, and saw as the butterflies would try in vain to escape only to dissipate... Sadly she would see each of the new Great Knights go to the gate and sacrifice themselves before the gate would start to open! As she watch it she could feel her mind lulling... feel as something... otherworldly was trying to pull her in... Fortunately the Great King's voice would snap her out of the lull and she would go on guard waiting and ready to look away from the gate when it opens... Only it doesn't...

Confusion would paint everybody's face even the supposed sacrificed Great Knights all except Merlin's and the King would finally see him for what he was! Suddenly Merlin would summon black crystals to float around him! Just like the ones in the hall! Instantly Camilla would shy away from them but couldn't help but look at them... They would hold her gaze no matter how hard she tried to pull away! Soon Merlin would reveal his plan to everybody and slam the but end of his staff into the ground! Upon doing so the lock and chain on his weapon would shatter and the weapon would take it's true form! However it wasn't just Merlin's weapon that would unlock! Everybodies would!

"Ah!" she chokes wide eyed with pain as the black lock on Buyou Rouzu would dissolve and the delicate gold chain would shatter! Pain! Searing pain! It would rush through her like a wild fire! Raw and untameable! Her chest would seize choking the breath from her as her heart stops beating! Quickly she collapses to her knees as the feeling of thousands of crystals stabbing into her consumes her with pain! She wraps herself in a ball of pure agony and misery before suddenly she feels it!

(Two part post as expect! lol)
PostPosted: Wed May 27, 2015 12:16 am

Buyou Rouzu was consuming her! "N-no! Buyou Rouzu! Stop! A-ack! Please stop!" she cries as the shadows begin to stretch off the weapon and begin wrapping around ger arms! Soon hunger deep and unsateable would fill her but also confusion... Soon though she jolts to her feet and stands ready to attack! She could only watch in horror as once more she was being puppeted by another!

[ Bradley ]

Somewhere along the way he'd acquired a war-scythe with a chain, but the blade was longer than his old one. It resonated with him, he supposed; it was what he'd grabbed out of the water after all. It was his weapon. His Yzialin.

Yet it dripped bloody as though it leaked blood from some hidden well of it. It was an odd sight, that weapon as red blood pooled on the floor. There was a hunger... a hunger that controlled him, that drove him to cutting down Lancelot. The last former Great Knight beyond Merlin. It was a hunger he felt in his bones that he wanted to ignore, he wanted to forget, but it was one he was well accustomed to. It was the same hunger he felt when hunting the Horsemen and Riders. It was the same hunger that propelled him to fight against the shadows.

And deep down... he craved that hunger.

Something snapped and he blacked out.

When he came to, the Great Knights were standing in front of the gate, and nothing was happening. Nothing was happening. The knights were sacrificed, nothing was saved, it was all for nothing. Rage, hot and white, surged through his chest and he gripped Yzialin with a defiance to end that sorcerer's life.

Rage turned into pain as his weapon bound itself to his hand. He thought she screamed her defiance, but that was silly even as smoke trailed off of the shaft and consumed his arm. The hunger consumed his mind and he snarled, sinking into it. He let it consume him, let himself be taken over by it because it was power--

For too long she'd been sealed in that weapon.

For too long he'd been told to uphold the code.

For too long they were--

They were--

What were they?

Two doors sat in front of them, two sides of a coin. Eyes traveled to the black door, yet they didn't know what door to take.

What... what was it again?

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MY CHARACTER Bradley is a tall young man with brown hair and brown eyes. He's incredibly gunho about this whole knight thing. He's jovial, hardworking, and really likes to smash things with objects. Almost too much. Many a barn has been destroyed because he gets too 'smash happy'. He's hoping joining the Red Faction will temper some of that excess energy. He's decently trained with war-scythes and other polearms.

Rei awakens with a scream. Was it another nightmare?
That Merlin took control of their body, transferring their consciousness inside their weapons and reduced them into beings that swung pointed blades into Lancelot?

He wished it was. But the bloodied blade of Shinonome will not accommodate that illusion.

He looked around and found the sight of the collapsing Knights before him. At the throne was the Great King...huh?
Wasn't he...died? How?

And behind the throne was the wizard, Merlin. Suddenly his body was frozen in place by unknown means. NO. NO, STOP.
GREAT KING, DON'T!

He can only freeze in place looking at what event transpires. Breaking the mirror, making the Great Knights march into the Gate...
But no. Morgana does not appear this time-it seems Merlin somehow prevented her.

And then he smashed his staff to the floor, breaking the chains around it. As Merlin did, one by one, the chained weapons of the Knights are being released; a power too great to be held by normal Knights. The Nodachi in his grasp seemingly grows thorns from the hilt, a deep, black thorn, burying inside his body, draining him of conscious just like a tree drank water greedily...

Rei heard the last words of Merlin-

"These weapons were once mine," Merlin encroaches on the Great King's territory. "They do not listen to your commands. Their power returns to me, and they serve my army. You were always the perfect pawn, everything I gave you took: your weapon, your power, your legacy, and even your name. I will take it back now. This is my revenge."

No. Darned no! Shinonome, don't do this to me!
As the final chain of Great King's sword unlocked, he can see the wizard's smile, beaming---

But nothing else happened.

He hoped it ended like that, in Merlin's defeat, but no.
Rei, again is absorbed into the weapon. Into the deep darkness of their memories...

"Wake up." It vibrated, like a ripples on the surface of a calm lake.

Shu who was in the bottom of the lake sensed the repeated calls, it disturbed with the sleep and she was forced to wake up. The first thing she felt was the weight of her weapons besides the need to breathe, a glance shot down at the tips of the hook, bloods dripping. The sluggish mind was confused, looked up to find out where she was.

She was still in the throne room.

If she wasn't awaken, she was at the moment she saw the figure standing in the middle, among all the shattered debris. "- " She realized her lips opened in surprise but no sound could come out from the throat. He returned. The gleam reflected from nearby drew her attention, she knew the name of the legendary sacred weapon. It was a hurtful grief soring her nose and made tears brimmed within her eyes.

Why? She didn't have time to think through because of what she saw looking skyward. A vortex and shadows in battle, they screamed and roared - It confused her for what she had known for ages. The king spoke and her eyes and mind were locked onto him again, it was a must. She desired to ask but she ought not to. Beginning of war? Aren't they fight against the Darkness way before she was born? Hope? She didn't hope for anything a long time ago, Shu dug at herself.

Surprises came one after another, the seven Great Knight Merlin finally made his appearance, nope, the one who was behind series of dreadful events. They mentioned "the Gate" and she knew something bad was unwinding but she could just watch. That was the end of her short story, wasn't it? Then, she recalled the memory of her swords went into the White Knight's body and the smile remained on her face when bloods gushed out, showered her face.

She killed a Great Knight, she felt unbelievably ecstatic, she remembered.

What was playing on the stage was destiny, she obediently watched, until the time had come. First the mirror then the new Great Knights, nope, sacrifices - it should be the very ending of this world, it should be?

A smile quirked on her controlled body as Merlin revealed everything, his plan and his story. It felt right, it felt good. The lock on her swords wrapped around the petite knight in the form of black mists, she willingly embraced them, from arms and legs, swirling upward to swallow her. They felt hungry, she felt hungry too. Yes, it was the right thing, she felt so powerful and filled finally.

She knew her body moved forward like a puppet, she had similar experiences before and it wasn't bad at all. As if she was the sanguinary horseman she dreamed, she was enjoying this. She answered the call, she hated the King so deeply and she thrust her swords to him, eyes full of vengeance.

Then, she was the empty knight again, feeling the weight of her weapons. The two identities fought, competed for the control of the body. They clawed and dug, tearing her apart. It hurt, her consciousness felt the desire so wanted to screech anguished cries. Who is she? What was she? A creature forced into a weapon or a knight loyal to their King, she couldn't remember which her true memory spoke of. They devoured and chawed at each other but everything slowly faded away.

It was blank.

Not really, there were two doors.

When she looked at the blue one, Shu felt like she would find out her past if she touched it; the black one - it held something quite the opposite, a longing memory that she was not familiar with but also familiar with at the same time. "Mimi, Milo, Evan....Hóng, Hán, Huá, Bèi, Papa, Mama....." Names went out her mouth seeing the blue door, it made her tears dropped, she wanted them back. In contrast, another door called for her as well, it overwhelmed her with the desire to take revenge.

Memories of two entities, but which is hers?

[ Milo ]

It had been all out of his control, he felt locked out of himself. His mind had been elsewhere because of the crystals and then pulled to complete a deed he would have never wished to do.

His own two hands had helped kill Lancelot. His oath, his sworn duty to what he wished to uphold being a blue knight, tarnished as the puppet strings willed him to add his kamayari into Lancelot's back. And all he could do was feel his heart break as the world collapsed around him.

But if only if it had stayed that way.

There was a call to attention and all he could do was awaken and answer and watch like before. Like always. Helpless as Merlin unleashed the gate and the shadows. Used the Great Knights against their will and as the chains of his weapon shattered and tore at him. Milo could barely scream as the hunger began to consume him, twist his mind with desires unfelt before and the confusion that followed. He withered on the ground, couldn't fight it. Losing himself. Memories changing, shifting, straining, fighting for dominance.

For a moment he had himself, was Milo again. Looked for Noemi, had to know she was safe as the Great King fought back. It was a fleeting moment as that feeling returned, overwhelming him into a white abyss.

Two doors appeared before him. Memories collided in a cloud of whispers, bits and pieces of valour and longing, promises and sadness. Which door, he asked himself, which one does he belong to. But maybe he already knew...

The last thing she could remember was the sight of a black tonfa slamming into Aymet's face.

It blurred from there, everything pulling away - or rather, she was the one pulled, moving as if something else had taken control of her body once more. She remembered this feeling, and she loathed it entirely. She did not want to be possessed by evil again. She fought with every ounce of will she could muster, and it did exactly nothing to free her from the horrors to come.

Her sickle drove into Lancelot's resigned face, just as everyone else's weapons did. They tore him to pieces, and she was forced to watch - she couldn't even close her eyes to save herself the agony of remembering his demise. She felt it tearing at her soul, killing her just as it killed him.

He was - he was special - he was -

She let out a painful sob, and realized that it was the first thing she'd done on her own since it had taken over. Her hand flew to her face, feeling the tears falling with a surge of relief. Then the hunger returned, and the last of her tears fell on the ground. It lasted only moments this time, to her great relief. Soon came the blinding white of unconsciousness, and she fell, confident that despite whatever was to happen - this was better, because at least she did not have to witness it.
