Echoes in Vibrato Word Count: 462 Aloysius returned home with his viola after a night out playing to the moon and those who happen to hear him while down on the streets walking home. The boy he had met still resonated something with him, he could not place it though. As he sat as his desk he pondered, the meeting with the dark mirror senshi was interesting and relaxing in a way. For the first time he actually hoped that the senshi would stay unharmed or would actually meet him once more at least. Was he actually caring about someone from the mirror court? Aloysius shook his head slightly to himself before looking out the window at the moon. "He can not be Isha right? Something was different.... Maybe not him but someone just like him I suppose. Though I do wonder whatever happened to that boy. Maybe I just want him to be Isha so I know he is safe and strong..."Desiree purred and hopped up on his lap as he looked out into space while deep in thought. He took this time to bring all his notes together onto his laptop where he had a database he was collecting until he decided to ask Natron how to upload and download information from the negaverse. The notes about the senshi he had fought were more about appearance since they didn't really use their powers against him effectively for reasons he did not know or understand. By far the steampunk girl was his favorite white moon that he had run into, she was quite polite and perhaps useable in the future if he push the right buttons and pulled the right strings on her. That was a talent he had slowly mastered through trial and error throughout his life. Whether or not others agreed that this was a talent was another matter though since he did not openly say that he was good at such manipulation. After he finished updating his notes he hid the paper notebooks in the false bottom of the main drawer on his desk. It would be detrimental if someone found those but he had never had a break in before, that did not always mean that there was not the chance of one happening in the future. Aloysius always tried to think of the future when planning things out for the most part. Much like his new idea to get someone to maybe join him from the senshi side that he could help become corrupted if possible. There had to be some sort of honor for bringing a senshi in that wished to be corrupted. But that would have to wait since now was the time to continue practicing fighting and defending himself as best as he could on his own.

A Broken Chord Word Count: 460 His arm was killing him still but at least it was set and not in danger of blood poisoning. Desiree sat watching him as he tended to the bandages and to the brace he wore on his knee until the swelling went down. Things would heal in time but he would be weakened until then. That odd man Marot would be staying with him soon so he would have to tidy up all his books and dust to the best of his abilities and make extra room in the guest room for him to stay comfortably. Aloysius wanted to be a good host to the man who had saved him in a way from that nightmare of an evening. He took the time to cry now, finally letting it all out after the events that had occurred. Getting over the fear would take a bit longer but he was safe for now, there was now way she could tell who he was when he was a civilian but at the same time there was no way for him to know who she was when she was a civilian. The uncertainty of it scared him and reassured his safety at the same time so he took to doing average chores around the house to the best of his abilities as Desiree sat watching him time to time. He half wondered what her opinion of the way he was slow and less attentive was. He wasn't able to pet her with both hands anymore or brush her the way she liked to be brushed. Frowning slightly he kissed her forehead and scratched her under the chin before turning to the guest room where he would attempt his next challenge, making a bed with one arm. Getting the sheets and blankets ready wasn't that difficult after he cleaned the room out a bit. It didn't mean that the movements were comfortable though, he occasionally took breaks to make sure he didn't injure himself anymore. He stretched out over the bed carefully and put the sheets on, folding the top one down a bit like his mother had taught him. Next came the blanket which was much easier to deal with since it was like a parachute when he threw it upwards. After folding it down a bit at the top like the sheet he laid on the bed for a moment to rest and contemplate what to do next. Dish washing was out of the question but he could also just plop them in the machine if he felt like it but there were only a couple of dishes in there in the first place. He just laid there and relaxed, waiting for an idea of what to do next.

The Fall Word Count: 494 It was agonizing now as he laid in his bed, the silence and loneliness were now consuming him since he could no longer do his job or do any of his hobbies for the most part. Everyday he woke up and looked sadly at his viola, there was no way he could play it anymore. Even when his arm healed he may not have the dexterity in his hand anymore to play. So he sat simmering in the silence, plotting what he would do to that senshi if he ever got his hands on her again. He would start with her fingers, breaking them one by one as he waited for her to squirm like he did. She would suffer before he took her starseed, as much as he could make her suffer without killing her. He would keep her starseed as a prize, there was no way he would be giving up something like that. Then he thought for a moment, back to what the steam punk senshi had said to him. Maybe corrupting her would be better, especially if she lost memories or changed completely like the senshi had mentioned her friend changing into something else. Though Lellouch seemed normal enough and friendly to him for being a corrupt senshi. After a moment he finally got up off the bed and shuffled to his desk, Desiree knew all to well that he was not in the mood to pet her or play games with her. She moved below the desk by where he would rest his feet once he finally sat down. The tumbler sat in the same day it had for a few days now except the bottle of vodka next to it was now almost empty. He poured himself a bit with his good hand and drank it down before trying to move the fingers on his left hand. They barely responded but that could also be because of the soft cast he was in at the moment, though that did not improve his mood any. It did not occur to him that the odd man would be coming over in the next few days nor did he care at this point. Things that gave him drive and motive simple hurt him now, he could not play and he was not able to go out patrolling just yet. That would have to wait until the hard cast was ready to be set up, which was only a week or so from now most likely. Turning in his chair, he looked up at the ceiling and almost past it in a way. There was so much to do that he could not actually do at the moment and it was eating him up inside. So he turned back to his desk and bottle and did the only thing that kept him at least somewhat sane. He drank to forget and drank the night, as well as the pain, away.

The Ascension Word Count: 472 It was gone, all gone now. Nothing was left of his stash of liquor and part of him no longer cared. The hard cast was now set and he was powered up once more, walking down the alleys only this time to avoid any senshi if at all possible. The first few drains were easy for the most part since it was his dominant hand that had been unharmed during the fight. His quota would be filled soon if he was able to get himself out more even though running still caused him a bit of pain. It would pass soon though, the doctor had told him his knee would heal in only a couple of weeks because it was just a simple misalignment of his kneecap due to force. The fact that the doctor could have told it just from looking and touching it lightly impressed Aloysius when Marot brought him there. But now as he thought back to that night he wondered if he had run into the senshi as a human without knowing it yet. At first it scared him but he felt safe in his normal form now because there was now way she could find him like that unless she saw him power up or down. "Peace, quiet, and junkies. I never thought this would be how I spent my recovery." He chuckled slightly, he was most definitely in a better mood when out and draining. He liked having that power over people and the ability to hold their life in his hand. It was nice and relaxing for the most part because few of his targets stirred or tried to attack him. It was good practice for keeping his concentration while draining though which made him smile a bit. Although the female lieutenant's lessons were proving useful for knocking some ruffians up against a wall if needed while he was draining them. Rarely did the though pass his mind about what would happen to the poor saps after he was done with them. The type of people that he drained really were not the type of people society rarely cared about for the most part either. After the night of draining was done he went home and put a tray of lasagna in the over to finish cooking since he had prepared it earlier in the day before heading out on patrol. Half of him wondered if Marot would like Italian cuisine or not, it was certain flavor combination that some people do not like. He would have to see what other dishes he could make one handed and with the things he had on hand. Marot was tall and pretty energetic so he had to have some sort of appetite. "I guess I will find out all this soon."

A Fresh Stanza Word Count: 473 Slow chords echoed through his house as the piano sang slightly with each note. It had been quite awhile since the piano had been cleaned off, tuned, and used as something other than extra storage for books and sheet music. It had been at least two years since he himself had played but at least 3 months since one of his students had used it for practice since they did not have the money to have their own piano at home. The boy was quite talented so Aloysius took note of it to continue to allow the boy to play here. Though he had not allowed him around since his arm had been broken. The depression and drinking he had been doing probably would not have been a good thing to let those who hired him see. Especially if he snapped at them or when off on their parents. Just now was he starting to get over the last pings of fear from the event as he called it now. The only reason he did not win was because of an experience disadvantage which would be remedied in time. The lessons with Erythite were going quite well it seemed so far, he had only gotten tapped a few times in the bad arm but not enough to cause him to pause or cringe. As he thought about what his future may hold he tried playing a few notes with his hand that was half in a cast. His fingers moved almost was well as his free hand but he could tell that they obviously had a lot lest range because of the cast. This bothered him but it was not nearly as bad as he had feared the past few weeks since the fight and rescue. His mood was also improved by the fact that his knee was almost normal, he just was to the point where kneeing someone was not really going to be comfortable to him or his enemy. Desiree jumped up on his lap as he sat at the piano and purred happily as he scratched under her chin. She really enjoyed his happier mood as well, she no longer hissed at him or scratched him to wake him up after he had been sleeping for days. He had gotten the house cleaned up enough that it did not look like a library had exploded everywhere. All the books and music sheets were contained to drawers and the bookshelves that lined the wall of the den in his house. Desiree enjoyed being able to roll around without collecting dust on her fur which made Aloysius laugh as she rubbed against him after a rolling journey across the shelves. He laid down on the bed with his cat and smiled as he waited for his guest to arrive.
