Trying for: [ Achievement 011: ] Update your Heart Log by posting a reflection solo of everything that has happened to your character so far. A solo must be 400 words or more to count! The third day was nearing an end. Aldara felt as though she had come a long way from the start; a shapeless shadow that had gathered to it enough blessings to become something
more. When she gazed at herself in the surface of the Moon Pool she saw
someone looking back at her, as opposed to some thing.
At first all she could remember was Longing. There had been something important that she had forgotten; something that she had needed to find... So she had searched. High and low, low and high, until she had gathered enough fragments to piece together an offering that was then turned in for a blessing. Every blessing that she received added
more. More life. More feelings. More knowledge. It had given her that push to continue on; to learn, to
be.
The second blessing had given her back a bit more of her
self. She was not sure how she knew this, other than knowing that she could simply feel it. She could tell a bit more about the others around her; how she should interact with them. It took the base of what she had been, starting to shape her more in to what she would become. There was potential in the grey blob of a girl. Could the Goddesses of this realm see that? Did they see the same thing that her reflection showed her? Or did they see more?
A soft sigh parted her lips as she reached out, finger lightly touching the reflective surface of the water. She watched as the ripples distorted her features and continued to watch on as they drifted far enough out that her face was whole again. Maybe the blessings were like ripples and she was like the water...
The third blessing had brought something that felt a bit like
madness. In the quiet moments there were voices; things just beyond her reach, and things rushing in to flood her mind. She made it her goal to avoid the quiet times, not entirely sure that she was ready for the things that the voices were saying, or the feelings that those words and whispers would impart upon her. Instead she threw herself in to battles. Creepers, Insanity, Spiders... One by one she raged war against them, ignoring that in fighting them she was really fighting something within
herself.
Somehow the battle felt
natural as a distraction, the blade fitting so well in her hand. A part of her seemed to live for the fight... She let that part sing.
Teetering on the edge again, she could hear the voices creeping in.
Aldara. She shook the name off, pushing herself to her feet.
Aldara. Her fingers wrapped around the hilt of Despair, dragging it behind her. Another day. She could lose herself in thought another day... But not tonight.
Tonight, to silence the voices, Raedala would fight.
