T A M I N G x R E F L E C T I O NTeamed-Up Taming Take Two This time, with Toki and Grrel's help, I managed to bring home a little buggar for Crowell! It's weird, but I kinda wanted to introduce Toki to Crowell... I feel like they could have gotten along... Oh well, maybe next time. I finally got what I wanted! And the satisfaction is the best part about it. Maybe I'll try to catch something else. Just for the hey of it.Results: Taming succeeded!

Meeting With Kalerys Sam lay in his cave, idly scooting a rock back and forth across the uneven surface. Outside, the sun was bright with a pleasant breeze coasting its way amongst the crags. And the Drakein could hardly find a reason to enjoy the comfortable weather. It was unfortunate, but he really had no plans for the day. He could go for a hunt, but honestly, after the Dactyl endeavors, he didn't really want to do anything too strenuous. He'd considered spending a little one-on-one time with Crowell, but his mother had taken him out for some magical learning experience, leaving Sam with little options, unless he wanted to hear the ladies of his clan gossiping. Which, he didn't.
Some of them were worse than his own mother. Man, when she got going there really was no stopping her. Kalerys had always fled just at the thought... Samael chuckled at the memory of his brother slinking across the cave with his tail and wings tucked tight around him, as if afraid she might snap them off if the mood struck her. Well, maybe he did have something to do today. It had been many days since he'd chatted with his brother. Though Kalerys was more of an actor than a talker... Oh well, maybe he'd make time for Sam today. And if Kal was out, at least Sam had purpose, instead of lazing about all day.
Nodding satisfactorily to himself, Samael walked to the edge of his cave and leaped out, fanning his bright leafy-colored wings and taking to the sky. Hopefully, Kalerys's clan hadn't migrated recently. It was difficult to keep up with him, sometimes, without a messenger or courier or something indicative of communication between them. Sam almost felt bad for the lack of time they spent together now that they were older. Samael visited when he could, but... well, Kalerys never came to see him, so his brother must not have cared too much.
The brown Drakein sighed as he landed steadily on the rocky cliffs. It was surprisingly quiet for the time of day, and briefly, Sam feared that the clan had found a new set of cavern to accommodate their ever-growing family. He hung his head slightly, wings drooping a bit as he thought of the wasted effort and missed chance. Now, he'd have to wait until Kalerys got around to sending him word by way of their mother. That could take moons, if it ever happened at all.
"Hm?"
A voice behind him made Samael whirl around into a crouch, eyes widened and jaws parted slightly, in case of attack. But, rather than a challenger, he was greeted by a small golden female with fiery eyes. Her wings fluttered and she beamed knowingly at him. "You're Samael, right? Ah, yes. I think I've seen you before." She pranced a bit closer, inspecting him. "You were bigger, then! Or maybe I was smaller..." She shook her head, and Sam couldn't help but find himself smiling at her.
Now that she mentioned it, she was kind of familiar... He was pretty sure her name was Aria. "That's me." He chuckled wryly. He couldn't help but be relieved the clan was still here! There was still a chance that Kalerys wasn't, but at least he spoke to someone!
She turned and wriggled her tail. "C'mon, you! You actually have pretty good timing! Kalerys will have some news for you!" At the worrisome look Sam sent her, she laughed. "It's good news!" She assured. With that, she fluttered off, leaving Samael to hop after her and follow. She didn't say anything else until they'd landed neatly in the security of a small cave.
Sam peeked his head in curiously. The first thing he noticed was his brother's hunkering form. "Aria, you always take so long when you-" Kalerys's gaze fell on his brother. First there was silent shock, then a defensive snarl, then finally recognition, relief, and even some happiness. Sam almost laughed out right. "Izzat you, Samael?" The rough voice asked.
Chuckling, Sam stepped more into the cavern, the peppy golden Drakein following right behind him. She trotted over to nuzzle affectionately against Kalerys. Not wanting to be rude, Sam let his gaze wander. And that was when he spotted the nest. A rocky barrier with a single egg inside. He couldn't even keep his face straight. "Is that-?" He blurted, widened eyes searching the room for the pair again.
"Mine." Kalerys confirmed with a nod. "Well, ours." He amended with a look to Aria. She grinned and went to carefully inspect her nest for any damage.
Sam could hardly keep himself together. He was amazed, surprised, happy (the little hatchling would be his family too, after all), but mostly amazed. Somehow, he'd always thought he'd have a mate before his brother, but that didn't matter too much. Samael shook his head and laughed. Weird how things turned out. The two brothers sat down together to discuss all that had happened since they'd last met, a lot, obviously, while Aria watched on, occasionally putting her two-cents into the matter. By the end of the day, Sam promised to visit more often, much more often, since he'd have a little nephew to look after. The group said their good-byes, and Sam headed off back toward his home.x

I don't even want it, I just want to keep it away from my clan! Maybe it'll fly far away when it gets older...Results: Taming failed.

I wouldn't have been able to do anything with it, anyway. After all the hate the clan had towards it, I'm a bit surprised I was the first to act, actually...Results: Taming failed.

Still, I can't help but think the training will go better if I start from scratch. I know it's strange to be after one of these Vlideans, but they could potentially be very useful! I'll have to test my theory to be sure, though. If it doesn't work out, I can always set it free.Results: Taming failed.

H U N T x R E F L E C T I O NThe One by One Challenge I really was just out looking for a bite to eat. Instead I run into Char. What do you know but a pack of Dragons found us? I shouldn't be surprised. Still, with her help, we took them out pretty easily. She wasn't half bad for a fighter, either, despite my suspicions. The little girl wore herself out, though, so I opted to be the good Samaritan I am and take her home.Results: +63 EXP, +5 LUK, +5 Kiandri Dragon Soul

Fortunately, I think he will find a good home with this Sue, a little girl I met! He seemed to like her, and she definitely liked him, so hopefully, they'll be alright together. H U N T x R E F L E C T I O NRunning Start I knew having a Keinling out there was a bad idea! If it weren't for me, those two would've ended up as Dragon chow!
