Addressing a Sage- Burrom/Sage and Tilawen XBurrom had arrived back home, his spear in hand and something special in tow. Tilawen had been silently been getting dinner ready, as it was she was starting to get rather edgy with her father being gone so long. When he entered their home he was positively giddy and it caused her to drop the spoon she had been holding with a clatter to the floor. Burrom....happy? The man was always so dour and serious to see him smiling like a young boy made Tilawen wonder if some spell had been placed on him.
"Making dinner? Forget that Tilawen I have something for you." Burrom was unnaturally happy something in his bag was doing this to him and the young girl was so...unsure about everything, the way he was acting and behaving was so unlike him. Was he cursed? Moving to bend and pick up the ladle she had dropped before she scooted a bit closer to Burrom wondering what it was that he was removing from his satchel.
Something...beautiful was presented to her, a large dragon orb. It was a mixture of red, orange and yellows...a blue in the very center and it pulsed with power. The young girl really wanted to touch it but she was also afraid to. Glancing up at Burrom with wide eyes as if wondering why he was showing her something so special.
"Its yours Tilawen. Take it and crush it. Then you will be able to growth further in your strength."
The young girl stared at Burrom a long while. The ..orb was meant for her? A gift? Staring at him dumbly it looked as if Burrom would have to guide her. Taking her hands she placed the orb within them. He missed the feeling of power the orb provided but if he wanted to get his own freedom back he would have to get her to grow up.
"Now you have to break it Tilawen, I can't help you with that you need to do it your own way." The girl was staring intently at the fiery orb before glancing back up at Burrom. She couldn't describe the feeling she was experiencing, perhaps it was joy? The first gift he had ever given her and ..it was this? Overwhelmed she nodded her head numbly before gently...setting it down on the floor.
Moving slightly away from it she pondered on how to break it. Stepping on it seemed likely, or throwing it...but instead she moved over to grab her staff and then stood above it. Raising the weapon she aimed the tip of the staff at the center of the orb. In a dramatic fashion she brought it down, meeting the resistance with a slight jar though it only lasted a moment before the orb crumbled away and a swirl of power rose up to embrace her.
It was the most magical moment of her life..if only she realized that by breaking that orb was going to send her life spiraling into chaos.
