Junjie was pacing across the kitchen at the moment, with Abellio trotting along behind him, nearly bumping into him from time to time, as he waited for Tilawen and her father to appear. After they had received a reply letter from the Dovaa Sage, the contents of it telling them where to come and meet with him. It was then that his mother had sent a second letter out, this one to Burrom and Tilawen, telling them where they were headed and inviting them along if the pair wished to come along. It would be a long journey to get from here to Ayr, a trip that they were going to be starting today, a few hours from now at the latest if the other two didn't appear.

Lien wasn't really all that sure what Burrom's plans were when it came to helping his daughter to find herself and her clan, not as though Lien had really had much time to plan herself. These sorts of things were quite complicated normally but even more so when it came to those that she saw as being 'special' in her mind. To think that her son would be the one to bring up his desire to pick a clan and so soon, at least it felt soon to her. He was son young. Watching him as he paced along with the little hellion of a Keinling she gave a bit of a smile, "You are going to ware a hole in the floor, Junjie." She told him, watching as he suddenly froze, then raced to the door when he heard footsteps... but much to his disappointment it wasn't them, it was a village woman. An older woman and one of very few of them that Junjie had spoke to before in the passed.

Opening the door for her the boy smiled up at her, "Good afternoon, Auntie." He greeted the woman, stepping back to open the door for her. The older woman stepped inside, glanced down at the boy and the Keinling that was sitting at his feet, then nodded to the pair to them.

"Good afternoon, little one, little Drakein." She said, lifting a hand to adjust her thick lenses glasses before turning her attention to Lien, "Ahh! Lien, my Dear. Come, tell me what it is that I will need to do while you are away." She would be house sitting for a time, while the woman brought Junjie meet with 'an important Dovaa clansman' as Lien had described him but hadn't given much detail after that.

Lien smiled, "Thank you, Mariebella." She said, "Junjie, Abellio, you two keep watching for Burrom and Tilawen while I show Auntie around and show her what she needs to do while we are away." The woman said before she moved to do that, leaving her son to return to his obsessive pacing.

When they had left Lien's home, Tilawen thought she would never see the young boy Junjie again. After all they had only even been there for such a length of time because her father Burrom had been badly hurt. So when he was healed and then announced it was time for them to go, the young girl had mixed thoughts on the boy she had spent more time with than anyone.

On one hand she would be thankful to have personal time again, but on the other....that would be all she had for company...herself. She had gotten use to his endless chatter and easy to excite manner. Sure he had gotten annoying but...at least he wasn't boring. So when they had gone back home...she figured there was no reason to become attached to anyone, she would only be dragged away.

So she expected things to go back to how they were, only things ...we're a bit different this time around. Burrom had asked her a lot of questions...strange ones at that, like what elements she liked or at the least was interested in and was doing a lot of solo hunts as he claimed that where he was going was too dangerous and so she would be left home alone sometimes for days at a time. And for this young girl it was a ..very lonely and bitter time.

Things changed when they got the letter, Burrom actually inquired if she wanted to go to which she gave a nod. Anything was better than staying home with her dark thoughts. So they began their journey back to Lien's with little to report than boredom. The trip had been uneventful and they were now very close to their home.

Junjie gave a pause in his pacing when Abellio stopped following along after him, "Hrm? What is it, Abellio?" He asked in a curious manner, watching as the bright green, feathery Keinling trotted over to the door and sat down in front of the door, tail swishing. He starred down at him for a long moment before he trotted over to the door, lifting up on his tones to look out the window, then saw the two cloaked figures coming toward the door and he felt his heart skip a head, "Ah! They're here, Abellio!" He squeaked out, bouncing in place before he opened the door up and hurried outside, running over toward Tilawen, waving a hand as he ran over toward her, quite excited to have her back. It had been so sad when she left and he was so glad that it seemed that she had come back.

"Tilawen! It's been so long! I missed you." He said, smiling at her before looking over at her father, the man seeming to be as intimidating as ever, "Ahh... Welcome back, Sir." He said, then looked over his shoulder as Abellio gave a call then rushed over to where Junjie was, nearly bumping into the back of Junjie's legs before he lifted up on his back legs, one front foot resting on Junjie's hip, to get a better look at Tilawen. He gave the girl a crooning sound, tail swishing. Giving a little giggle he patted the Keinliing on the head, "I was going to introduce you." He reassured the Keinling.

The door that he left hanging open was soon filled when his mother came out through it, the older woman following after her, "Junjie! Don't leave the door hanging open! Bugs are going to..." She trailed off when she saw what it was that the boy was doing, "Oh, I see." She said, then looked over at the woman next to her, "Allow me to welcome my guests then I will show you around the coops." She said to the woman before she walked over to join the others, giving a smile, "Hello, Burrom, Tilawen, welcome back."

Tilawen had expected Junjie to rush out of the house, it was just something he would do he got so excited. Tilawen found herself startled at the thought, the idea that she 'knew' a person well enough to expect them to do something, she wasn't sure if she herself should be excited about this knowledge or more annoyed. Still her eye's widened only slightly when she saw the ..feathery fluffy thing bounded up behind Junjie matching his excitement. The egg must of hatched, but she had never seen a feathered drakein before and it was worth taking a note...even if it was only a few seconds.

Lifting her head she felt herself blink and her heart skip when she heard the words 'I missed you' come out of Junjie's mouth. It left her feeling strange and ..for a moment...happy. Though that small flame of happiness went out with a poof when she heard Lien and looking up noticed a woman she had never seen before. Leaning her head down she looked to the ground her using her head to obscure her face a she was so custom to doing and tucking her hands in her sleeves for her skin was not seen.

"...Junjie..." She murmured wondering why she actually was happy to see his bright and cheerful face.

Burrom cleared his throat when he saw Lein and stepped around Junjie and ...his dragon...before approaching the woman. "Good to see you Lein." He gave her a warm smile, one that he rarely even bestowed upon his daughter. Though lately he had been happier more so than late, out hunting all the time..gathering...orbs...for his daughter. The day was approaching fast, and he was starting to think he would run out of time before her coming of age occured.

Lien gave her fellow Dovaa a smile in return before turning her attention back to her son, reaching to to pat him on the head between his mismatched horns, "Junjie, how about you take Tilawen and Abellio to your room? Maybe sure that you are completely packed and ready to go, hm? I need to show Auntie the coops." She could tell that the girl was on edge, likely not wanting to see by the stranger given her mixed heritage, and she would aid the girl in hiding by allowing them both to hide out in Junjie's room, "Shall we chat, Burrom? About where Junjie, and Tilawen if the two of you decide upon it, will be going?" She wasn't sure if Burrom would allow it or not but she might as well offer, the man she was sending her son to train with was one of very few she could trust not to hate him for what he was. There were too few out there that weren't completely against those with mixed blood after all.

Junjie looked up at his mother as she chatted with Burrom before looking to Tilawen, giving her a smile, "We can go to my room if you want. I am pretty sure that my bag is packed but if Mom wants me to check it again to make sure I should." He said, oblivious to the fact that she was trying to allow Tilawen an out when it came to being too near to Auntie. Given she was on of few people in the village that knew what he was and didn't seem completely against him he didn't really look at her as a threat. Turning to the house he motioned to Tilawen to join him and Abellio trotted on ahead, standing in front of the door that had been closed by Lien. He reached out to open it up, allowing the two to go in first if Tilawen wanted to go in instead of waiting outside with her father.

"It's exciting, isn't it? This will be my first real trip and I am so excited to get to train with the one Mom is calling the 'Dovaa Sage'." He said, wanting to bounce in place he was so happy about finally getting to go to see the man, "He's going to help me to become a Ysali Dovaa! It's so great!" He just couldn't wait! As though excited about it as well, and why wouldn't he be since Abellio was Ysali too, the little Keinling gave a crooning sound of delight.

Tilawen risked a glance at Lien wondering what she was up to but was happy enough to take an out when she saw one. Following Junjie she tried to hurry as she wanted to get out of sight as quickly as possible so that she would relax a bit more. Following him and the fluffy drakein she listened to him chitter chatter his lips off but didn't answer him until she stepped into the home.

"Traveling...isn't that...great...its...a lot of hiding...you ...don't really get to see anything." She explained as she traveled a lot, and often it was more nerve wracking than anything else. "Not...allowed to move...afraid someone will find you." This was as close to a proper conversation that Tilawen was able to make. Listening to him...and him becoming a 'yasli dovaa' she...felt her heart sink. Burrom never asked her to become a firani dovaa...

"O...oh....." Her comment was one of surprise as if she wasn't sure if she was...happy about.

"Dut you're only...half dovaa...will they...allow it?"

Junjie nodded, "It's just as bad getting stuck in one place all the time too." He murmured, making a bit of a face as he thought about it, "I am mostly here at home unless I go on walks into the forest and... well... when I go there I have to deal with dragons." He gave a bit of a chuckle at that, one hand fiddling with a lock of his hair before he looked over at Tilawen, giving her a bit of a smile, "We have to hide no matter if we go out or stay home, so we might as well hide while getting to go somewhere new. Besides, my mom wouldn't lead me somewhere dangerous." He knew full well that she was over protective of him, to an almost overboard manner at times, and as such she wouldn't be allowing to leave home if they were going to be going somewhere super dangerous with people that might come after them.

When Tilawen asked if they would allow him to become a Dovaa he gave a slight wince, shaking his head, "Ahh... not exactly..." He said, looking a little embarrassed, "Mom sent a letter to someone that is called the 'Dovaa Sage' saying that we had to go about it in a manner different from normal since I am different from normal." He made a bit of a face at the thought, hating that he wasn't what people would consider normal. It really was such a bother but it was his fate and one that he had to live with. He wouldn't allow it to get to him, "I am curious to meet him, he must be someone interesting if he is willing to help someone like us."

Trotting into his room the boy knelt down at his bag, digging around through it, making sure that everything he needed, then turned to look at Tilawen, "Have you decided upon your clan yet?" He asked in a curious tone as Abellio started to circle around the girl, trying to get a look at the newcomer, having only been able to play with one person outside of the family to this point. Having a new person seemed to please the little Keinling, "No licking, Abellio. I doubt Tilawen would appreciate that." He warned the little one who gave a huffing sound in response.

Tilawen could understand what he meant about being stuck in one place as well, for the most part lately she had been left at home. Alone. From what she seen Lien seemed the type to protect Junjie in a different way that Burrom did with her. Though the young girl couldn't put it to words what was exactly different in the parenting, she just felt that Lien did it..differently.

At the mention of being led somewhere dangerous Tilawen couldn't help it but snort at the comment. He had no idea...

"Naive." She stated offhandedly, "It doesn't matter...if your hybrid. Everywhere...is dangerous." With hands clasped in front of her she felt the bitterness seep into her tone. Tilting her head slightly as he described the person that he was suppose to meet. A Dovaa sage? "Don't trust ...him." Was her immediate response but that was just how she was.

At his question she went quiet, no she hadn't and she assumed she wouldn't have to worry about it. Burrom didn't want anyone to know about her...so why would he drag her to a sage...dovaa or not. She was saved by the little dragon who was circling her and thus she would turn the conversation onto it.

"When...did it hatch?"

Junjie gave a soft sigh, "So everyone says but I have made friends, others like us, I want to believe that we can at least be safe with each other." He told the girl who seemed to be so against the idea of there being anywhere that wasn't dangerous. While he knew that there were a lot of dangerous people out there he also knew that there were a lot of good ones. There was Tilawen herself, Erionda, Tyrok, Esmeralda, and many others, he'd met them, got along with them, and he wanted to believe that there were others out there that they would be able to feel safe with, "We just have to find them! Though... I can't quite do that yet, can I?" He lifted a hand fiddle with a lock of his hair a moment more, looking thoughtful, before he gave a bit of a smile. He knew that it would be some time before he was able to travel on his own, he was still young after all, but one day he'd be able to find others like them, others that were unwanted, and he would be their friend.

Turning to look over at Abellio as she asked about him he gave a smile, "Not too long ago, he's still pretty much a baby." He said, standing up once he was sure that everything in his bag that he wanted was present, then he walked over to where the two were standing, giving a smile, "He will be going with us to meet with the Dovaa Sage too. I can't really leave him home alone since he tends to get into things. Not something that my mom cares for too terribly much." He said, giving a bit of a chuckle before he set to smoothing a hand over the little Drakein's soft feathers, "You can pet him if you like, he's a fan of it."

Abellio gave a crooning sound as though in agreement with that, tails wishing behind him, wings giving a little flap. It was more then obvious that he would be all for more then just Junjie petting him, knowing full well that his best bet was the new girl since Lien was always far too busy for him and his antics.

Tilawn gave him a dubious look, after all him traveling by himself she could only see him getting himself killed. He was sheltered from the world, how harsh it could be, though he was sheltered while she was hidden. It was two very different means of protecting...one out of love the other out of shame. Tilawen couldn't help but be bitter but she didn't go into it. Junjie seemed determined to do this 'traveling' and makes 'friends'. What did you need friends for? To be hurt by them? or worse..lose them?

Looking down at the little baby drakein she watched it, how carefree it was ...not a care in the world. Part of her wanted to hit it, make it wise that not everyone was its friend. But she wouldn't strike the baby, not with Junjie there. She would unknowingly take her fathers approach to ..everything when it came to new people and creatures. Arms length. They can be friendly with her but she wasn't going to get too close.

"I see." Was her only comment, though she was looking at his pack and she wondered briefly just what he was thinking of bringing with him. "Ayr is cold...you have...warm clothes?" She started a new conversation ignoring the antics of the baby dragon, Tilawen didn't want to get attached to something as fragile as a baby anything.

At her question he gave a nod of his head, "Yeah, I packed things with sleeves as well as the cloak that my mom got for me. She is pretty insistent that I wear it every where I go. It can get a bit hot, not mention heavy, but I don't mind since it helps to hide my wings." He knew full well that anyone that saw his wings would know instantly what he was. Given their tendency to pop out at inopportune times he felt that the cloak would be quite useful when it came to hiding what he really was from others. On Ayr though it would also help in keeping him warm, "I just need to see about braiding my hair to keep it from getting knotted, I hear the wind in Ayr is terrible."

Looking over at Tilawen he gave her a smile, "If you want to do the same you can borrow my brush again. I will have to get it out of my pack but that won't take long since it's on the top." He told her, then patted the bed, something that had Abellio scrambling over to jump up onto it, squirming his way under the comforter. Junjie gave a little laugh, peeking under the blanket for a moment, then let it fall back on Abellio once more, "He really is cute, huh? I was so surprised when he hatched and had feathers! I thought he'd be really scaly like the dragons I've fought or like Erionda's Uassae." He rather like that he was feathered though, it made him that much nicer to snuggle when they were curled up for a nap.

The wind on Ayr was terrible and only made worse due to the cold, but at least Junjie seemed prepared for the worst. Sometimes she wondered if all his optimism skewed his out look in life. Probably. But at least not in this instance. Her gaze trailed down towards the brush he was offering she shook her head slowly. Though she did extend her hand to take the brush in hand.

"I can braid my own hair..but I can ..do yours...for you." She offered looking a bit uncomfortable at the idea of getting close to the boy. Still he had yet to do anything bad to her, and they had even gone on a adventure together. Junjie was probably the closest thing she could call a friend, though she wasn't too sure if she would go that far either.

The young girl seemed to slowly have that icy facade of her melting the more she was with the young man, but it seemed that only constant meet up's were the way to get her to let her guard down. Even if it was only a small bit

When Tilawen took the brush from him he couldn't help but to give her a smile, "If you are sure." She didn't really seem the sort that wanted any help from anyone but at least she agreed to borrow the brush, right? It would keep her hair from getting blown all over the place. It seemed to be even longer then his was which was pretty impressive in and of itself, "Oh, you want to help me with mine?" He asked in a curious manner, thinking on it for only a moment before giving her a bright smile and a nod, "Yeah, sure! Mom is pretty busy getting stuff ready for the trip so I think it would probably help out a lot if she didn't have to do my hair too. Thanks, Tilawen, you are a good friend."

Turning so that she would be able to see his hair more easily he set to concentrating so that his feather wings would obey him and disappear into tattoo like marking he had on his back, a trait that he got from his father's side of the family, "Alright, with those out of the way it will make it a lot easier to brush my hair." He said in a happy manner. He was able to get them to vanish almost at will these days, now if only he could figure out how to keep them from popping out whenever he got startled he thought to himself, making a little face at the thought.

Junjie hurried to get the chair from his desk, dragging it over so that he could sit on it sideways, so that Tilawen would have an easier time at getting to his hair. The moment he sat down the feathery Keinling was scrambling into his lap, tail wagging, and nuzzled against his throat, obviously looking for attention. Junjie giggled before he set to petting him, "You are a good boy, Abellio." He praised the Keinling that took up most of his lap, having been born a good size. Once he got him to lay down against his chest and stop squirming he gave a sigh of relief, knowing that having a Keinling bouncing in his lap would likely make dealing with his hair a lot more difficult.
PostPosted: Tue May 28, 2013 4:18 pm

The brush nearly dropped from her hand as Junjie turned around to get his hair done. The word friend had struck a cord with her, it was deep and resounding and made her body shake for a bit. Her? With a friend? She had to firmly remind herself that she wasn't the type of person who had friends, and that seeing how Junjie was...he would declare anyone a friend. Yes she had to remind herself of that.

Watching as he went to fetch her a chair she tried to quell any feelings that may of been blossoming for Junjie.m she couldn't just attach her to..someone because they were nice...right? But having someone nice to her was such a new thing....and she almost felt she would begin craving such attention if she let such emotions get in her way.

As he sat and forced his wings back into their tattoo form she reached a hand out and lightly traced where they had disappeared. If only she could do somethin g like that with her own horns...and whatever you could call the things on her back. They certainly were not wings...

Brush in hand she began running it through his hair, silent as ever but very gentle as she went to do a French braid gathering the hair from the top to do a very tight braid. "I...am not a good friend..." She began slowly. "If I was good people wouldn't try to kill me..."

Jun gave a little laugh when Tilawen set to tracing the marks on his back before saying, "It's pretty odd, huh? How they can just disappear like that. A shame that they won't behave and just stay that way, I might be able to travel more easily." He said, making a bit of a face at the thought. His wings had a terrible habit of popping up when they weren't needed, something that frustrated him to no end. If they would behave he might very well be able to pretend that he was just a Dovaa and get into places that were normally off limits. Ah well, he would get it figured out one day, of this he was certain! Mostly due to optimism instead of anything else really.

"Hrm? What are you saying, Tilawen, you are a great friend! I've always had fun with you. Like our cave adventure, that was great!" They had found such a cool place, a strange sort of animal he'd never seen so close up, and treasure! At the mention of people trying to kill her he gave a sigh, "Mom says those people are just ignorant. I'd like to agree... I mean what about us is so bad..." He didn't get it, "I've met plenty of hybrids and they are all very nice people! It's stupid that they want to kill us." How it made him want to just... just... kick someone! Not something he could do though, his mother would be so upset were he to do so. Sighing he said, "I don't care what they say, I think you are a good person." He told her, as though what he said should be the end all or something. Not as though the opinion of one hybrid about another hybrid meant anything against a bunch of purebloods but he knew that even they weren't all bad. He'd met nice ones of those too.

Giving a smile he said, "How about this! Once I become a member of the Ysali Clan I beat up anyone who is mean to you!" He told her, willing to protect his friends against those that might be mean to them be it other races or even dragons!
