It wasn’t long for Esme to be back on the road after her baby brother’s birth. It had been time for her to leave anyway, her mother was alive, and there was a new baby boy in the family on top of all the family members visiting the boy. It was hard facing her family all at once, she was after all the first not to follow in their footsteps and many of them, the older generation of the family flat out ignored her presence. It had been a hard thing to do, and thus she’d announced she was leaving for Souldul once more.
Her parents were sad to see her go, but Esmeralda was not. She felt replaced now that her brother was here, and all she wanted to do was go into hiding forever and ever. Something of course, she could not do. She would prove them wrong one day; she would show them that intelligence was far better than having fighting skills. One day that is… Now she’d just arrived in the capital of Souldul, rented herself a place to stay for the night on the out most outskirts of the city as she possibly could find and was about and about gathering supplies for another treck.
As she wondered from stand to stand, picking some things out, she wondered if maybe she ought to be going after an Aedun dragon instead of a Diabi. Oblivionites weren’t exactly her cup of drink, Except Ekundayo… That one had been odd and different as well as confusing and frustrating all in one package, but he’d been nice to her and that had made a small difference in her views. Still, walking in Souldul my herself made her very much aware of everyone around her and their eyes crawling all over her.

A red haired dovaa man was busy talking to a young girl, who was for the most part rather obscured by him as well a hood and cloak. He was giving her stern instructions to stay out of sight and to not move from this spot unless she was being attacked. One would think it was out of fatherly concern, but to be honest Burrom just didn't want to be exiled from another city just because of her.
Once instructions were given he left her to go on his hunt for supplies, he had been so busy working to get firani orbs that they had needed this stop to replenish and replace items that had been used during his hunts. The young girl stayed where she was instructed, her head tilted towards the ground as she didn't dare risk raising her eyes in case people spotted the glowing green orbs that were eyes in her head. Fidgeting she felt nervous, being in this large town even if it was on the outskirts. Why hadn't Burrom left her outside of it? Why had he insisted that he come in with her...at least on the very edge? The young girl tried to obscure herself in the shadows and now draw attention to herself.

It was too late, Esmeralda had already caught sight of the Hybrid girl with the red hair, and her eyes stayed on her. Green eyes meant she’d chosen a clan, and the horns on her head gave her away as well. Another Oblivionite Hybrid, Esmeralda pretended to browse the wares of the merchants as she got closer to the girl, shooting her glances once in a while to seem more inconspicuous about the whole thing. This was the girl Hybrid she was seeing, so of course Esmeralda was intrigued by her. Though she couldn’t go right up to the girl and start talking to her that would be weird. So Esme got as close to her as she possible could and let one of her apples drop to the floor and roll towards the girl. Since she wasn’t directly looking at Esmeralda maybe that would make her look up.

Tilawen had been busy trying to blend into the shadows to notice that she had been 'caught'. She didn't notice the woman coming closer and closer to her until it was too late for her to run away. The apple rolled into her line of sight and the green orbs in her head flicked once to indicate blinking of sorts. But rather than look up she scooted a few steps backwards before finally moving to pick the apple up.
One could tell she was doing all this so painfully slow so not to draw attention to herself. But as her black skinned fingers grasped the apple she withdrew it to hide back into the immense sleeves of her dress. Standing back up she finally braved to look up, spotted the dovaa woman who was....far too close for her own liking. She was beautiful. It was her first thought followed closely by dangerous. Shrinking back she felt trapped, where could she escape? She was told to stay where she was unless attacked. Panic was starting to bubbly up.

Esmeralda was baffled, literally mind going blank and wondering what the girl was doing. Why was she being so damn slow about it? An amused smile popped onto Esme’s lips as she saw the girl putting the apple back into her sleeves, if she wanted the apple she could keep it. Tho, as the girl moved back the smile faded slightly. Was she looking that dangerous? “Hey, I’m sorry if I scared you.” Esme kept her voice low and gentle, this was the first time she met an Oblivionite that was scared, well Hybrid but still. “I’m not going to hurt you.”

The woman was speaking to her now, and she kept her head down as if hoping if she stayed still the woman may just give up trying to strike up a conversation with her. It dawned on her slowly that...perhaps that apple she had picked up belonged to this woman. Did she think she was stealing it??
The apple was immediately out of her sleeve and thrust out towards the woman, she was still looking away as if she anticipated some sort of punishment despite the fact that lady had just said she wasn't going to hurt her.
"S..orry..I..didn't..know." The young girl finally managed though her hand was trembling with the effort of not bolting at this point. "p..please don't report me."

Esmeralda was a little startled when the girl suddenly pushed the apple towards her, now she wanted to give it back? Frowning lightly, Esmeralda pushed the apple back towards the girl gently. “It’s yours to keep.” Why did the girl think she would report her? Softly, Esmeralda bent down. “Look, I’m not an Oblivionite so I really have no one to report you to. Even if I was an Oblivionite you haven’t done anything wrong.” Esme chuckled softly. “So you can keep the apple and not have to worry about anything.”

Tilawen was skittish, a strange woman was talking to her, and even though she spoke words of comfort she just felt more and more on edge. Surprised as she felt the apple gently pushed back in her direction she finally risked a moment to look at the woman.
Her mouth opened in a little o of surprise, for Esmeralda was beautiful perhaps too pretty it made the little one fret more about her own appearance...how her father always wanted her to stay out of sight, to not be seen or draw attention to herself.
Little hands held the apple as if it was precious, but they still shook slightly. At the woman's words she had to ponder them, the way her father acted her very existence was what was wrong so to be told that she wasn't in trouble...was new to her.
"I...I haven't?" Came her soft voice, it was evident she didn't speak much and using those vocal cords there were out of use just ended up with her rather soft spoken.
"But...Burom says...hyrbids ...are bad."

Esmeralda kept having this strange sensation that she was speaking to someone who wasn’t always properly treated, perhaps by those around her or even her family. There was a time in her life where she’d known how it had felt, but she’d done her own thing and now older, she felt better. “Of course not.” Poor girl, Esme just wanted to grab her and hug her and tell her everything was alright even though it probably wasn’t the best setting for such a thing. Then the girl said the name of the one that troubled her, Esmeralda narrowed her eyes. If there was one thing she did not appreciate was someone else bullying others. “Burom is wrong and very stupid if he thinks that way, is he bullying you? I’ll beat him up for you.” Well, maybe find someone else who could bully him, but either way, whoever this guy was, he was getting a piece of her mind.
