Appearance: Jamie's a bit on the shorter side, standing at around 5'9". He's grown out his hair a bit, though it's still thick, black, wavy, and as messy as it was when he was a teen. He's filled in a bit, courtesy of the jobs he had to do after the incident involving his family, which is more a good thing than anything else. That being the case, he doesn't have too much of a bookworm-ish look anymore; it's kind of more like a quiet intellectual now. He works out regularly, happy to be out in the sun and getting some exercise along with his mokai, and sometimes takes on jobs at the docks to keep in shape and make some extra money. He's not overly muscular, but he is a bit more toned now.

There was an incident with his father that ended rather badly and sent him first into hiding, then off the island completely. His father's terrible gambling habits lost their family nearly everything, including the shop and their home. Jamie refused to leave the island though, because he still had Rook and wasn't allowed to take the mokai with him. His mother refused to leave as well, so she left her husband and he left the island alone; they never heard from him again. The two struggled to make ends meet; Jamie had already graduated from school, but started working at the docks to help keep the two of them afloat. Unfortunately, the loss of her family's treasured shop, her husband, and basically everything of the life she'd known caused her to go into a deep depression, and she died just two years later.
Jamie has since found a stable job as a barkeep at a friend's local bar. The pay is decent enough, and because his boss is a friend of his, he's staying at a nearby flat for cheap. To make a bit of extra cash though, he still has to work at the docks every so often. It's also how he makes sure that Rook keeps in shape. The two of them, over the course of three years, haven't seen the inside of the main compound since the incident with his father. Rook occasionally helps out the dock workers, hauling around manageable crates alongside Jamie.
