With nothing else to do she had decided to go to the small library in their town. It wasn't much. Her aunt and uncle lived in a smaller town as opposed to a big city like her mom and dad. She had never understood why but then again she'd never really asked. Siofra didn't want to hang out with her cousins today and her brother was busy cooking. Her being in the kitchen with him would just mess up whatever delicious creation he had going so she figured some time to herself would be fine.
As she entered the library, if it could be called that, she looked around. All the shelves were dusty and looked like they could use some organization. It made her feel a little sad that the place was so neglected. Then again, in the area they lived people were more out and about than sitting in rooms studying.
So she moved over to a shelf that looked to be a bit more organized than the rest and started to look over what was available to read. One title caught her attention and she reached up to pull it gently from the shelf. It slid out easily and she watched as the books around it leaned to the side to cover the no vacant space. Sio smiled at the action before she turned to go over to the only table in the place. It had four chairs but she was lucky enough to be the only person there, so she didn't need to share.
Once seated she set the book down in front of her and opened it up. The hybrid girl flipped a few pages in then started to read. As she did she found that she much enjoyed it. Learning new things brought a smile to her face. The more she read the more relaxed she became and soon enough more than an hour had passed.
Only when her bottom had started to go numb did she shift her position and flip to the next page at the same time. Siofra glanced up to see the time but went right back to reading afterward.
The more time passed the more an idea formed in her head. Since she was genuinely enjoying herself she wanted to know if there was a way to make her new hobby into something more. Then she recalled that there were people who called themselves Scholars. With a new light in her eyes she stared down at the book in front of her before she glanced around at the books in the small library. She wanted to read them all and learn what she could from them.
