General Jet

Jet was at the front of the room, but he wasn’t paying attention to the people filing in, or if anyone was sleeping. He was still reviewing any information he could find in the accessible database about the Rift and youma in general. He didn’t have access to personnel files, but he was at least reviewing the information from the handbook. Not that it wasn’t information he’d already read a hundred times, but maybe something would be useful that didn’t occur to him before.

“Did you get yourself a crystal? Or did that melt, too?” Jet asked Faustite, after catching another glance from Aquamarine, who looked like he was in a foul mood. And had every right to be, especially if he was going to have to wake up Generals.

“If that one stays, I don’t want him on my team,” he said casually to Faustite of the sleeping General and turned his attention back to the tablet in his hands.

He and Aquamarine had eaten before the meeting, having not expected Faustite to set up a large assortment of food, but it seemed to be keeping people quiet, so that was good.

“It’s really only you and Kamacite who are left from the original mission?” he asked again, but clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth before Faustite could answer the same thing he had before. He just wanted to make sure there wasn’t anyone else who could share their experience. Especially with Kamacite dropping food in his nervousness. He was jumpy for an Eternal Senshi, although Jet supposed that meant he kept his wits about him. Maybe. Unlike those who rushed head first into danger. Much like himself when he was a few years younger.

General Titanite

The mission was to be two days in the Rift, but in exchange for coming and listening to the mission details, she got free food! All six feet of the General were very hungry, and she did not hesitate to avail herself of the presented snackrifices- she piled one plate sky-high with savory proteins, and another with one blueberry muffin, one cookie- and shoved a s'more in her mouth as she wandered to find a chair. If all meetings served such good food, maybe she would attend more. Or maybe she had just been missing out all this time- could the Negaverse leadership be-

Ooooh, she had missed Beef Wellingtons? The General spun on a heel and balanced so she could lean over and snag herself more food, the things on her plate tilting haphazardly. A cornish hen almost fell, but she plopped the beef wellington in place just in time to save it.

Titanite should probably have saved the dessert foods for later, but when was the last time that she had enjoyed a S'more? Then again, when was the first time she had enjoyed a S'more? They were cloyingly sweet, but with two days in hell facing her, she would eat as much sugar as she could manage. It wasn't as though a pound or two would hurt her.

Oh, and tea and coffee? Nice. But what about water? She squinted, looking about before deciding to grab a coffee, black. Then she plopped herself down in a chair and began shoveling food into her mouth like a f*cking animal. Absolutely 0 interest in the show going on around her.

It was like a hot dog eating contest, but with beef wellington and steak.

Super Sailor Meridiana - Senshi of the Succubus - quest thread out of date please see bottom post for her uniform.

It had been a long while since Meridiana had last powered up and even longer still since she had last entered the rift; the last time was she had donned her uniform was shortly after her promotion. By all rights the Sovereign should have probably stripped her of this rank due to recent inactivity; her civilian life had all but consumed her time with helping care for her Grandfather whenever she had a moment to spare. There just wasn't a moment's time for her to really spend meeting quota demands.

Fortunately, she no longer needed to worry about reaching out or waiting around for someone to taxi her to the location of the meeting and could simply teleport herself.

A part of her wondered if anyone there would recognize her from the last adventure in the Rift. There were a few corrupt that she had been close with for a time but it had been a long while since they had spoken. Would it be too strange to suddenly walk up to them and say hi?

Probably...

Normally rather sociable, Meridiana instead stood somewhere around the edge of the crowd, simply scanning over the faces of those who had arrived while internally wondering if a sovereign would be joining them like before.

Captian Lavendulan

So much time had been spent in her office...lab... workshop area; whenever you wanted to call it. It was a unique hybrid of the three of them and the tools inside served her well for the project she had been working on for over the last year and a half.

For a while there her research had stalemated and left her with very few leads on how to move forward. That was until the Mysterious Merchant appeared a few weeks ago and he had given her a special ore. It was something that wasn't found anywhere on earth and could only be obtained by people like her; at first she thought it meant half youma but realized that she wasn't that special and he meant Negaverse Agents, and was alluding to the Rift.

She had been planning to go back there but was waiting for Wolframite's recent mission to end before asking him to accompany her when an opportunity to go with a much larger group all but fell in her lap. And so, without hesitation, she signed up to join them. While there was definitely going to be a goal for this mission, it didn't mean that Laven couldn't pay more attention to her surroundings and maybe spot some of the material she was working for; as long as she didn't become distracted by her own motives it should be alright.

When finally she arrived, the half-youma quietly observed the growing group of agents.

Even as a captain she was still reluctant to put herself out there and insert herself into a conversation. She was used to lieutenants being taken aback by her appearance. However, she was pleasantly surprised to notice that she was not the only half-youma in attendance and felt confident that nobody would harass her here.

For now, though, she wandered over the table with mostly savory food and plated herself a cornish hen and bedecked salad on the side before finding a place to sit and eat.

Captain Atheneite

Atheneite was more than happy to answer the call it wasn't like she was doing anything that evening. She was probably gonna just go out on patrol and drain some poor fool and hope for an order member to fight. This however was much more interesting to the young captain. She glanced around the room and noted all the various powers filling the hall it was always impressive whenever these little gatherings happened, it really made her believe in the power of the Negaverse. A power she was proud to be a part of.

She munched on a cookie as her eyes landed on the generals and eternal who were clearly in charge of this operation. She was excited to be descending back into the Rift. Her last trip had been very awe inspiring and now she was stronger so hopefully she would be better equipped to deal with the magnificent monsters that lurked in that dark space.

Atheneite leaned against a wall as she waited for the briefing to begin. She wondered just what this was all about, but she supposed it didn't matter too much as long as she got to fight something.

Lieutenant Roselite

Roselite responded to Bloodstone’s order with a nod, too nervous to speak.

He set his food aside for now; he’d done little more than pick at it anyway. Instead, he reached for the notepad and pen on the empty chair beside him, beginning to jot down notes as Bloodstone and Carnallite spoke. Since he didn’t know many names yet, he settled for descriptions.

General in black, he wrote at first, then paused, thought about it, and decided that probably described a great many people. Thus, he continued, Hat/plague doctor mask combo. Seems to be sleeping.

Then, with a wince, he continued, Blonde General in navy (Aquamarine???). Short temper. Unprofessional swearing.

The meeting hadn’t even started yet and there was already at least one raised voice.

Roselite shifted in his chair uncomfortably.

---

Lieutenant Carnallite

Carnallite frowned at Bloodstone, annoyed.

She knew they weren’t real cats, at least not the sort of cats she was familiar with. Her point was that they existed and there was at least one present. Perhaps more? She would look around, but she didn’t want to seem as if she cared, which was also the reason she didn’t ask after their accommodations. How were they treated? Were they made to fend for themselves?

Bloodstone would only laugh at her — internally if not out loud.

“What do you know of the Generals?” she asked. “I’ve met Jet. He’s young but seems competent. The blonde I could do without dealing with. With any luck, we won’t be on his team. I’ve yet to meet Faustite.”

She’d missed the last operation. Her work schedule had the terrible habit of getting in the way. If only they’d attacked her building instead of the Farnsworth.

---

Corrupt Cymophane

Cymophane paid Aquamarine no mind, merely leaned over to retrieve Kamacite’s fallen food with a peppy, “Five second rule!”

He put the cookie back on Kamacite’s plate, but set the s’more aside on his own. The cookie probably survived the fall without getting gross, but that melted marshmallow could have picked up something nasty.

“You want me to help you eat?” Cymophane asked, only half joking. If Kamacite wanted him to, he absolutely would.

To demonstrate his willingness, Cymophane picked up half of Kamacite’s bagel and held it toward him. He at least did Kamacite the courtesy of not going “ahhhhh” and treating it like he was trying to feed a small child.

“You’re right, Reidite should definitely back out, but I’m not going to,” he insisted. “I’ve been to the Rift before. I know what to expect. Relax. It’ll be fine. Assuming everyone sticks around, we’ve got more people this time, I think.”

General Arsenopyrite

It was surprising how little time it took for someone to learn something about another. For example this General who had immediately decided to get up in his faced and yell and make noises while he was resting his eyes. Arseno found the whole thing quite ridiculous and was glad that his mask kept him from showing his smile.

He had seen the General before and well, not a good impression on either of their sides it appeared.

Would he have been better off ignoring the other? Perhaps. It's not as though they could continue fighting, and even if Faustite had been under his wing for a bit, it didn't meant that he would appreciate any altercations between the two.

He was awake enough to listen, but not enough awake to keep his eyes open. But he did reply to the blonde General, keeping his eyes closed. "I prefer tea actually. And if resting my eyes for a bit so offends you, then I apologize." He said in a calm voice. He wasn't in the mood to fight anyway with how little sleep he had gotten. And he was sure that telling the other any reason as to why he felt so tired would have just gotten another "scolding". He was still a General, there really weren't any excuses to skip these events.

They were here to learn about yet another mission. Arseno didn't see this other General getting off his a** and doing anything. And while Arseno did have a side project here, it had to be put away for the time being while he went through medical school. Perhaps if he could be more specific and pitched it up to the higher ups he could get more tools to use for it...

Lieutenant Eveite

There appeared to be some drama already between a few of the Generals, and she decided to note it down. She didn't quite have an opinion on it, but she doubted that the other had come here only to immediately sleep because he didn't take it seriously.

But it was good to know how others would react in such a situation.

She noticed that she needed a refill on her coffee, already? and moved over to where another General appeared to be stacking her plate high. She didn't blame the General. Free food was hard to pass up after all, and she doubted that everyone here could afford lobster for every meal. She decided to make a bit of conversation before she went back to her seat. "Hello General. You're going to have to tell me how delicious those deserts taste. I only got a muffin myself, but I might have to sneak some more if they're really good." She said with a small smile. It wasn't sarcastic in any way. She just knew that she couldn't have too much sugar, lest most of her food start to become it.

General Sylvite

"Mmm?"

Sylvite looked up from her cookie slowly, eyes a little bit glazed over until they focused in on the familiar face of her friend. She did smile, seeing him, even if it was nowhere near the giant grin she would've had under normal circumstances.

"Hey, Van," she said, then poked at the cookie again before taking a little bite. It wasn't bad or anything. It still tasted like chocolate chip, and she took another bite after, but even the taste of sugar wasn't enough to perk her up all the way. "I know, I know. I should eat. It's just weird."

She looked at all the survival gear in front of the room again, and waved at it with her free hand before giving a full-on dramatic sigh.

"Had to be, like, hunting."

It was only then that she noticed the new little accessories on his outfit, and the cape on his shoulder. That got her eyes to widen, and her smile to widen a little bit as well. "You upgraded again," she whispered.

Chalcanthite had heard the younger agent's question before they turned to look at someone else. At first, he wasn't going to say anything but it was an opportunity to meet new people. "Ah! Yes, cats are prone to do as they please, so I would say that one being on a table is not an uncommon occurrence." He took a few steps closer to the blonde so it would be easier to hear each other as more people filtered in. The man was only a tiny bit taller than him but that in itself was an uncommon thing for Chalcanthite to see.

"Hello, I am sorry to assume but you look as if this is a new situation to you? Do you have any other questions than the one about that fuzzy feline?" It was small talk with no real goal but that was at least something to try and get a conversation started. Either way, his tone was polite and proper.

Lieutenant Reidite

Reidite turned to the man in blue, and almost as tall as himself, offering him a noncommittal shrug. “Back in Russia, cat would be part of menu. Wanted to make sure it was not claimed.”

His expression did not make it clear if he was being serious or not.

“These meetings are frequent?” he asked with a frown. He might have been going a bit heavy on the accent, but without knowing anyone, it was always a good fall back to claim he couldn’t understand them if he was tired of talking. “Your… energy? You are not new. What do you know about this place we are going where those creatures live?”

He knew the basics about the Rift, but to hear it from someone who had been around much longer than himself would be enlightening. He also needed the distraction as he picked the pieces of food from around the cat.

Lieutenant Feldspar

His experiences with the Rift? Not great. Pretty freaking brutal, if he was being totally honest. So it really felt like a sound person would know to stay clear away. There wasn't anything in there for him until he grew strong enough to have some control over the monsters that lurked in the Rift. Why should someone like him risk going at all?

Maybe a bit for the challenge. Maybe a bit for the endorphins that chased hard on fear's tail. Maybe just to prove that he wouldn't be crippled by past experiences. Metaphorically speaking.

He wouldn't argue the reasons were sound, but they were good enough for Feldspar, despite being all too aware that he brought almost nothing to the table in a physical mission like this. No senshi magic to protect him. No combat experience. Barely even any ability to flee. Definitely completely unsound. If it had only been him and none of his friends, he probably could've talked himself out of it.

He picked himself out a plate, and took a tiny portion of just about everything included in the spread. Smelled good, and he couldn't imagine they'd be eating well for the next two days, so might as well enjoy it while available? He snatched up some silverware and hobbled out of the way of anyone else trying to grab a bite.

And off toward the only people he really knew in this whole mess, however reluctant they seemed to be. Mood looked sour all around. Cool start, then.

"General Livi. Nat," Feldspar greeted as he approached. Though his tone was deferential, the words clearly weren't, and he wasn't afraid to flounce gracelessly in a chair at Sylvite's side, flicking his cane to set upright against his knee. "Not much on y'all's plates, huh? There's, like, whole steaks over there. Should enjoy it now before we go on days without proper food."

Basic Calaverite

Everyone wanted to go into the Rift! Of course they did! Cala had known right from the beginning, right from when he'd first been introduced to Negasapace that all the best things were in the Rift. He'd wanted to go in right away. That was where the monsters prowled. Some were burbling and ugly. And some were squishy and cute. You never knew what you were going to get!

It was like a gatcha game. The more times you played- the more you went in, the more likely you were to find something good. So it really sucked that he could only play when other people went. There wasn't always someone who wanted to go with him...

But the monsters didn't like him. They would eat him if he went alone...

It was enough to make him furious that he wanted something he couldn't have. How dare the monsters not like him? It was okay this time, though. There were lots of people going. His general and his friend, Cervantite. Cala didn't hate Faustite or Wolframite either, and he'd glimpsed both on his way to pick up a gooey s'more.

He hoped the meeting didn't last very long. They were boring. Just reasons to get people to sit down and shut up. Lame.

General Chalcanthite

Chalcanthite nodded for a moment as he thought of a proper response, it wouldn’t do well to spook newcomers away but it would also be an injustice to not give at least some proper background to the new agent. “I would not say that meetings of this size are frequent but it is common for at least small groups to meet up regarding goings on and current missions or goals. I have been around for awhile yes, but my position has always been more in the background. The Rift is…. An interesting kind of place that I have been to on more occasions than I would have liked to have been. It is unsettling at the least and very dangerous at its worst. I do have times to one of those creatures as well but that is something you may come to also have in the future.”

A bit of a shiver went down his spine as he thought of the flute he carried within his breast pocket, another object taken from that dark place. “It can have its moments of beauty though, in its own mysterious ways.”

Corrupt Eternal Kamacite

Kamacite let out a shaky breath that was almost a laugh, only because Cymophane’s antics were a bit ridiculous. And yet… they were also incredibly kind. He couldn’t remember the last time someone offered to help him eat because his hands were too shaky.

He paused for a moment, a little embarrassed to need help, but leaned forward to take a bite of the bagel Cymophane held out to him.

“Thank you,” he mumbled quietly when he swallowed, feeling a tiny bit better with Cymophane’s confidence in him.

Maybe Faustite was wrong to have put him in the lead for one of the teams. And yet… he’d also survived facing off against this youma before. He knew what to expect. Someone going in blind would likely mean they could get themselves injured or worse.

And if it turned out that no one trusted him enough to be able to handle the position, he would just finish the job, himself.

Captain Bloodstone

“The Generals? I know nothing about them,” he said, but didn’t seem too worried about it. They were young and probably overconfident, which meant they would likely meet their ends quickly. It was only a matter of time before he was able to get his own promotion. He already had two recruits, and he was only a Captain.

Carnallite didn’t ask about the Eternal Senshi, probably because despite his bright robes he was rather mousey and easy to ignore. Maybe if he knew this was the same Senshi whose starseed he pulled as a civilian, he would have more to say.

Or maybe not. He had the feeling that Roselite was still upset with him for trying to take his friend’s starseed. Although they weren’t friends at the time, so what did it really matter?

General Faustite

Silent, Faustite outstretched an arm, beckoned the air. Haymitch transposed from point A to point B, his weight soft but considerable in Faustite's hand. The general quickly stooped to release the Mauvian before his heat started burning skin or melting fur. Sticky thing, this one. "Not on the table. Tell someone to put it on the floor." Call it General's orders if he needed to.

He heard Cymophane, who should know better, and he would've said as much if the look didn't give him pause. Unsure what to think, he let the pair be.

Jet sounded anxious and Aquamarine seemed pissed off as a standard. Faustite simply watched Aqua while he responded to Jet's hundred-thousandth inquiry. "Crystal works. Starts fuzzing if I hold it long enough." The second question went unanswered.

"Don't fret; that one's better as bait." His attention roamed beyond the officer in question, took in the rest of the crowd.

Taenite was talking to Benitoite. That dumb ******** flourish of an introduction, half the damn room could see it. Made a mental note to pull Taenite aside after. Faustite set his jaw, and looked beyond.

Rare to see other youmafied agents, he thought. One, some type of fish? The other, a snake, hood and all. Shame that they needed to space out the youmafied officers among the teams. Stewards, they were, of relations between agents and youma. He would've liked to meet them otherwise. Hoped there would be time after the meeting.

General Benitoite

It was only because he had been looking around that he'd managed to spot a familiar plague doctor like General. But he also noticed that Arseno looked tired, just the way he moved and held himself screamed exhausted. He might have even gone to check on him, make sure the other was up for the mission, if not foir another General deciding to wake the snow sleeping plague doctor.

Shaking his head and letting out a long,. drawn out, sigh he shook his head. His attention pulled away from the scene by a corrupt senshi appearing at his side. "It is a form of meat pastry, a beef wellington. I'm rather fond of them myself." Especially in the cooler autumn and winter months where the ashen blond prefered heavy, hearty, foods to eat that kept a person full and warm. But while he normally wouldn't eat such a dish in the summer he was doing so now, because he wanted to keep full for as long as he could if they were going down into the rift for an extended period of time.

Listening as the corrupt mentioned other operations where he'd seen the General he felt himself nodding. Was he really that noticible? There were plenty of other people - other Generals. He wasn't the easiest to find in a group of people, he was rather small and easy to overlook. He didn't try and hide on people but sometimes things he was standing behind or next to just managed to hide him from view well.

"Mmm, I get around a bit I suppose. I've been in the Negaverse long enough that I try and get involved in whatever I can that's going on. It helps, experience and knowledge, it's good to have as much behind you as you can. Something learned in the past may help in the future." Shrugging a bit as he took another fork full of food. "What has you joining this little mission?" He questioend, honestly curious. Everyone had their reasons, some simple and some not so simple. Everyone was different.

Haymitch

Haymitch looked up, a large bite of steak falling from his mouth, to return the stare from the corrupted senshi (Albite) and blinked. He chewed, swallowed, and grinned up at the senshi. "Hiya! I'm Haymitch! The steak is soooooo good," he said, chipper and excited. His tail lashed behind him - most certainly spraying fur everywhere - and sniffed the senshi. Nothing particularly interesting about this one, but that was okay! Still a new friend!

Several others sort of started to crowd around the table, including two of the agents (Reidite, Chalcanthite) . "Well no one put food on the floor, so I say, it's free game! Pleased to meet you, I'm Haymitch!" He settled back down to try some of the risotto now and reached a paw toward the bowl.

There was a flare of heat and suddenly Haymitch was not on the table staring at the senshi with sauce all over his mouth, but being put down by the General with the fire stomach. He pouted at Fausite.

"Plan for us kitties next time then! Hrumph!" he said with a flick of his tail. Haymitch wandered back over to Albite and flopped down beside him, cleaning the food off of his face and paws. Such a spoil sport ugh!
