Class Affinity Solo - Summoner

It had been awhile since Verose traveled away from Chiume Isle. As she was getting older, she found herself needing to be present to learn more about the ways of the Aishan sisterhood. Fighting, prayer, history, they pushed it all on the young girls as soon as they could wield a weapon. But to Verose, who was permitted to leave every so often to see her father, it felt more like a cult than culture.
Thinking that way left the hybrid feeling ashamed. She was proud of her history, after all it was the Aishan ways that resulted in her own blooming. But still, she often felt like the sisterhood was lost in the past, with how often they restricted the young girls from leaving the isle to see the truth of the matter.
They focused more on fighting with swords and spears and not on the magic of the world just across the channel. Belrea was so close, yet it felt like a lifetime apart whenever she traveled back and forth. The trip alone was an awakening, moving from the dense forest of the isle to the smokey and bright lands of Belrea. Verose had taken to changing her clothes as soon as she landed, from the Aishan geometric shapes to the buttoned up Belrean leathers and back again.
Eventually, the hybrid started to throw in mixes of both outfits, blending them together like her features blended those of her mother and father. Chunky belts with bronze bangles, draped fabrics covering buttoned up blouses. She'd get looks from her sisters if she was training, but on the Belrean side they embraced her unique traits as an opportunity to learn more. It was refreshing to travel to Belrea and be asked about her other half, compared to the pressure to keep it hidden when she was on Chiume.
Was it so surprising that she was growing weary of that side of things?
As she grew older, her mother would whisper hushed warnings into her ear. About what happened to the sisters who would turn their back on the ways of Aisha. How they would be forsaken and restricted from ever returning to the mother trees. But how could Verose really worry? She didn't travel back to Aisha, and she felt a foreigner among the sparkling Vandrea that sprinkled across the island. Whereas if she went to Belrea, she was welcomed into their circles and encouraged to explore, challenge herself and grow.
Maybe that was why she found herself drawn to some of the weapons and skills of the Earthlings. Even as she tried out new weapons whenever she snuck around Belrea, there was one class of fighting that was so fascinating to the young hybrid, and that was Nature Magic.
Maybe it was the fact that, even if she grew wary of her Aishan heritage, she still understood the beauty and desire to be one with Nature. Maybe it was, despite how industrialized Belrea was, there was still a way to find the nature beneath the smoke and technology of the land. Either way, when Verose first crossed paths with a Summoner, she was opened to a new world of possibilities.
Somehow, this earthling found a way to follow their gods through the practice of mysterious rights in an unknown tongue. While Verose didn't really resonate with it, the ability to combine both her heritages into this unique class seemed like the perfect fit for a mixed child. To be able to bring forth earthling actions but in the name of Aisha felt like she wasn't abandoning one side in favor of the other, even if all of her half-sisters and cousins would see it as just that.
Verose kept the plan to herself, knowing that she needed to play the nice part until she was old enough to make a choice. For now, she was selfish in wanting to spend a little longer with the few cousins she connect with. She wanted to experience the world a little longer under the thick brush of the isle's trees, where the canopy silenced the sounds and created a bubble of solitude. Even if it meant not seeing her father for a little longer, she knew it was alright because she'd be with him more often than not once she left the isle for good.
So, she practiced with the blades, with the spear and the bow. She continued to follow the teachings of the sisterhood and prayed to the great mothers. But deep down, she knew eventually the day would be her last, and soon enough she'd have to say goodbye to the family that she felt an outcast for, but couldn't say she hated. Because even being a in the shadow of the newly bloomed Vandrea, she wasn't mistreated and she wasn't kicked out. She was cared for, loved even, and lived a good life.
For now, she would get herself in order, continue to practice the few teachings from the summoner in secret, and prepare herself for the hard goodbye. Every day she would appreciate and take in the life she grew up with. Smile and fight as hard as she could. It was for the best, after all, and she was much more prepared for it now that she had a way to stay connected with the half of herself she was letting go.
She wasn't quite ready, but she was on the right path, and that's what really mattered.

Class Quest
Verose took some time to pack up her bag, her mind going a mile a minute yet no where at all. This was the last time she'd be packing up from the isle, though only her mother and father knew this truth. As she'd leave the isle, she'd let the elders know. Thank them for looking after her and letting them know Aisha would always be in her heart even if they didn't accept her as one of them. She knew this would be a difficult journey, one that would feel lonely after so many years as part of a family, but it was her journey to take.
Sighing, she moved to a small cubby that was covered, moving it aside to pull out a wooden carving of a tree with great, winding roots. In fact, the carving looked haphazard, with more roots than branches, but that was a representation true to the sisterhood. The great trees were beautiful, yes, but their roots were their true meaning. To bloom the next generation, to care fore and tend to the lands that generation would grow on, Aisha was the bringer of life until death.
Verose rubbed her thumb across the worn wood, an age-old action she had done since a young child. Breathing deeply once more, she then moved quickly to shove it in her pack before standing and moving out of her humble home. Outside, her mother waited with a small smile, hiding her sorrow at the choice her daughter made. But Verose knew that her mother couldn't fault her, or wouldn't, because she was the one who fell in love with an Earthling.
And both agreed to let Verose made the decision when she came of age. As a child of both worlds, it was her right to choose which one to be, even if that choice might be a regret later.
"You are sure of this choice, my little rose?" Her mother asked for the hundreth time or so it seemed. Verose let out a laugh, feeling light as she moved away from her home.
"Absolutely. This is my chance to honor our great mother in my own way."
Her mother came close and brushed her cheek, her eyes crinkling from the smile as she nodded in response.
Together, they took a small boat across the sea, and as they landed on the Belrean coast, Verose turned to the sister who had guided their path.
"By turning away from the way of the Aishan, you will never be permitted to see the roots of a mother tree again. This is a decision you will live with the rest of your days, young Verose."
Breathing deeply, Verose held up her chin and for the first time looked directly in the elder's eyes. Dark eyes that surprisingly held little contempt for the hybrid girl. Had they always been this kind? This sad, even.
"Thank you." Verose finally replied, smiling as her breathing felt like it was free for the first time ever. That alone made her confident that this was the right choice.
"Thank you for everything, matron. For allowing me to rest on these shores and teaching me the ways of the sisterhood. You gave me a chance to learn so I could make this choice knowing what it really meant. I will always honor my great mother...but this lets me honor her in a way that is true to me."
Moving closer, Verose bowed her head in thanks to the sister before her, "I now the impact of this choice...and will forever be grateful of what I once had as I forge my way ahead. Thank you."
With that, she lifted her pack and turned, nodding to her mother just as she caught sight of her father waving in the distance.
It was time to forge her own path. It was time for a new journey to begin.
