The feline student did, indeed, speak only in rhymes. TK was unsure how he felt about that, but it wasn’t as if he could request the child to stop rhyming just because it might make him feel uncomfortable or annoyed. With the way Carlos did it so flawlessly, TK figured it was as natural as breathing to him, but the skeleton still could not see the point in speaking in rhymes.
He was just going to ignore it for now, just like how he was going to ignore how Jacking useless everyone was being at the moment. People were missing, or not hitting as hard as the boil would have preferred, but this was fine. TK was fine with this. Really.
A hum as he jumped forward for a kick.

It was lucky Puella had prepared. She squinted readily at where TK had just struck the monster with his foot and rushed forward with the stick she'd gathered, whacking the invisible creature multiple times with it. Wham, wham, blam! She figured the multiple hits were a little better to rely on, since she was pretty sure she was weaker than TK.
"Yes! I hit it!" she shrieked, but the thing whacked her back in quick retaliation. Ouch, Puella thought, wincing and rubbing her neck. That hadn't gone quiiite as planned.
She backed away quickly, watching the area it'd just been in with caution. She had to pay attention for every second of this fight, because she was already smarting all over. She didn't want to just fall over! "We can do this!" she nodded at her newfound allies. She sure hoped they could, anyway.

Something was skittering around his legs. It was rhyming and he could have sworn it said its name was Carlos.
"Are you a student?" he asked, bending down to address the cat and getting simultaneously smacked by the creature. Brenley was knocked off balance, and as he fell hard on his back, he could have sworn he felt something rummage through the pouch on his belt.
"Ow," he said, searching himself once he had landed and his weapons had disappeared in his shock. Sure enough, that formerly stinky old whale fin was gone.

Now that he was beginning to feel disappointment with the rest of his fighting party, TK could not stuff it down. He didn’t say anything, and ever since he was young he had learned to appear polite and courteous, so it wasn’t as if the frustration was obvious, but inside he was definitely burying his face in his hands right now.
Well, as long as they managed to pummel this thing to death it would all work out somehow. Right? A pause in thought as he punched it again.

Fia kept her bow in hand and watched the commotion. She watched TK going for kicks... Carlos with his paws... Everyone seemed to be hitting it, but it was fighting back just as much. How much more did they need to do to subdue this thing?
"I'm letting loose another soon!" Fia wasn't used to giving warnings, but she wanted them to be careful as much as they could with the apex around. They were all moving around swiftly and Fia had to be careful with her shots.
Quick movements. Fog. Others dodging. She silenced the world, concentrated and let another fly. Again, it seemed to hit, but she felt more tired... Fia was pretty sure they all were.

Carlos was a distraction. But the cat was unaware of how bad of a distraction he was even after the former student he ran under was knocked down and out.
He did notice the injury. "Are you ok?" the cat leaned down and licked Brenley. But the student didn't respond. Carlos nudged him and gave him concerned looks but eventually scampered off when he was smacked by the same invisible thing. Clearly this was not a safe places and Carlos was feeling rather agitated. Brenley would not receive much help from the cat.

The ghoul chuckled lightly with the cutie boil reapers reaction, giving a few slow nods in affirmation, "Course I'm talking to you." she confirmed further. What a silly guy.
But no time for flirting. Cannon was a flash of fire as he circled the foe, snapping, snarling, and gnashing his teeth at what ever he could make contact with. And by the looks of it, this time around he managed a rather reasonable amount of damage!

Fia could feel herself getting more and more drained. She couldn't decide if she should keep using her bow or go back to hand-to-hand combat. Or hand-to-apex combat, whatever that was.
She was still firmly holding onto her bow when she saw the eyes nearby and delivered a swift kick to knock it away from her again. Though Fia didn't really know how much or how far any hits actually did.

The invisible thing smacked at Puella again. H-hey! And here she'd thought she was out of range, too.
She pouted, and then realized that the burden she was carrying seemed to be...lighter? Frantically she stepped backwards, checking her pockets and her backpack both...a-ahh! She was missing an egg. The herbivore one, she noted with a small amount of relief. "That thing's a rude thief!" she huffed, sitting back down. Wow, she was feeling kind of...lightheaded. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to stay so close to this apex thingy.
"I'm gonna...hold back for a bit?" she said, waving her arms. "I don't feel so good." Apex HP: 33 Puella HP: 5 rip

TK couldn’t feel the physical exhaustion per say, but he was sure that his body was starting to wear down. He just didn’t have the nerves—as humans liked to call it—to send the signals to his brain. He took a pause, let the others try to sneak in a few decent hits while he tried to let himself rest.
He closed his eyes, breathed, and once he opened them he rushed forward for another attack.

The mysterious enemy was losing momentum, and losing it fast. They just had a little further ways to go. Verusha called out calm, but assuring praise to Cannon and the attacks he was landing, fueling his moral.
"Just a bit more, Canny." she called out, though her own energy was dwindling fast. The damage received from the unknown being was taking its toll on the reaper, but she stayed firm in her stance and posture. So long as Cannon was still up and at it, fighting with all he had, she would keep steady as well.

Fia drew her bow again. The Apex mini had seemed to be slowing down. Maybe, just maybe one more hit would stop it. She let loose one more shot, hitting the apex. It was a lot of damage, but Fia didn't know how close she was to knocking it out.
The Apex rushed Fia and knocked her back against a tree. She was still conscious, but her body would did not want to move. All she could do was sit and not get in the way of others still fighting.

The reaper couldn't be more proud of her Cannon for landing the killing blow. Howling her praise to the pooch, who came trotting back to Verusha, the ghoul knelt down to instantly wrap her arms around his neck for a firm hug. Stroking the lively flames along his spine, and nape, she pressed adoring kisses along his cheek, his stony expression only softening the tiniest of bits.
"You always pull through for me, don'tcha Canny?"

Fia smiled as she watched the reaper and her dog stop the apex mini. Without the energy to move, she just continued to sit there.
"Maybe I'll nap... for a while..."
She would need to remember to thank her comrades later.
