Hasshōdō
The name was effortless, like the name was pulled out of the ether, it fit just right. Damien was always told that a blacksmith should care for their work, because the weapons they made would become an extension of their wielders arm. He didn't think it was such a literal term until he picked up the polearm. It was a comfortable weight, balanced between his hands, he began to switch his stance from side to side, hands gliding over smooth, lacquered wood or Ebony hue. It was mystifying, how it was something like most of the weapons he used in the past, but different, complex.
It felt like part of him, alive with him now that they were as one.
There was no going back to any old weapon now, he found his calling.
