Solo The Family that Prays The family group that Kyrian was apart of called themselves, “Valley Children” as per their traveled path of mainly going through valleys. Their younger members would jokingly call themselves, “Rockies” due to their common practice of adventuring into caves. Many of those adventures were made alongside a sibling or a passing friend. Kyrian had one best friend and about eight siblings, so adventure was something he was never lacking. The youth's family had set traditions that they performed at certain points throughout the day. A key one being prayer to Bergchi for safe passage through her paradises. While other families also prayed to Ault for aid in producing their next meal, such as Kyrian's family.
Kyrian sat on the blanket which was spread out near his families personal fire pit. The way the camp was set up was that each family would have their personal fire, while a larger fire would be built in the center of the camp. It was at the larger fire that most meals would be eaten as the group ate together, never apart. The smaller fires were more for family prayer and discussions if a issue was brought to a parent's attention. The tents were all to colorful, save for bright shades of their usual greens, but it was all right. How Kyrian knew these were his tents was simple, each family had a small symbol sewn into the entrance flap. Along with those symbols was a small item, something the wife would make for her husband as a manifestation of their unity. Most were a string of beads, others were a picture painted on a sheer slab of stone. A rare one was like his Mother's gift to their Father. A small cluster of crystals, shaped in a animal form which the wife believed would watch over their future children.
For Kyrian this creature was a Nondwa, a large four winged insect-like being. According to Kyrian's Mother, Reria, when she was a youngling her parents took her to Jauhar for a visit to a few of their old friends. She had gotten lost and a kindly Nondwa had light up the way back to her parents as it belonged to their friend. Ever since then the female had come to think of the softly glowing creature as one of guidance. So, when she was to marry Kyrian's Father, Kyhross she had gathered the glowing crystals from a nearby cavern system and crafted the crystal Nondwa. Which to this day sits perched on its own pedestal as it watches over their family.
Speaking of his Mother, Kyrian looked over as the elder female walked out of the tent. His two youngest brothers on her heels. Her firey hair, was a rare color of sunset sand, was a great highlight of her bright blue eyes. Kyrian and most of his siblings all inherited their Mother's bright blue eyes. The only ones to inherit their Father's murky blue were his two Eldest brothers and two of his little sisters. Her hair color however was mostly seen in highlights with his sisters, as his eldest brothers seemed to have white blond hair like their Father's Mother. Kyrian heard his Father before he saw him, as usual the male was playing his mandolin as he walked up. Kyrian stole a glance back as he knew his Mother would have that same small dopey smile she always had around their Father.
He chuckled before standing to welcome his Father home. The male who walked into view was taller than one would expect in a Wind Tribesmen. His long straw blond hair was braided tightly as it twitched behind him. Kyrian heard once from one of his elder brothers that the braid represented how tightly wound their father was. Though Kyrian could recall being a youngling and helping his Father in the mornings with braiding the males hair, he didn't think that it was a manifestation of his parent's temperament. It was just apart of the male, as was the way he walked with his shoulders held back and face set in a impassive mask. Kyhross' murky blue eyes were as stony as his posture and face portrayed. The murky depths were swimming with emotion, adoration as he drew close to his wife and three of their offspring. He blinked stopping in his playing as he slid the stringed instrument to his back. He crossed his arms, “Kyrian, Kenise, Kerook...where are your elder brothers and your sisters?”
Kyrian spoke up with a light gasp, “Ah! Ririka, Riieo, Rukara and Rainese were all playing with the twins. Remember Izola and Izeeda?” he explained then tapped his foot as he thought of his elder brothers, “Korhio went out to help gather food. Kenriss went to visit with the group we joined up with...the one with the Leaf hybrids. Kiirin went to explore the nearby caves with a few others.” The youth paled as his father's murky eyes went cold.
“Its time for Family Prayer.” he muttered low. Putting his hand to his mouth the male let out a shrill tuned whistle. One Kyrian knew as their 15 minute signal to get back to the tents or else. His eyes were wide before he relaxed as he saw all four of his little sisters run around the corner. Kyrian heard echo's of chuckles from other adults who knew Kyhross too well. He looked over as he heard his Mother sigh, though she had a smile as she watched her daughters come to a panting stop. Kyrian stood there waiting for the sight of his elder brothers rushing home as well. Smiling as he saw Kiirin fly around the opposite corner, Korhio not too far behind him. The two males came to a stop and exchanged looks.
Kenriss was late.
It was another 8 minutes (Kyrian would later claim to not have been counting out of worry) before the family saw Kenriss run from where the visiting group was camping nearby. Kyhross' posture told the whole story as Reria merely sighed. Patting her husbands shoulder the female gave him a long look before turning to usher the other children around the fire pit. Kyrian glanced back as he saw his Father lift up Kenriss' usual poncho to reveal....a scarf...oh no. Not again. He winced at a pinch from his Mother. Getting the hint to stay out of the issue which was whispered about throughout the group.
Kenriss was dancing.
For another male.
A hybrid male from what Kyrian remembered of his brother's friends. The closest one to Kenriss in that group was a Leaf/Wind male who wasn't that much older than they were. Kyrian was happy that Kenriss found someone who's company he always enjoyed, but it worried him that their Father seemed so angry with it. Their Father said nothing but took his spot by the fire with Kenriss sulking to his. Korhio nudged his younger brother, offering up a small smile. The exchange warmed Kyrian's heart and when Kenriss looked around he was greeted with Kyrian's bright chipper smile. At a noise from their Father the children all looked to him.
The male took the hand of his eldest and youngest child as opposite of him his Wife took the hands of her first and second daughter. The eldest male spoke, “We close our eyes and open our hearts to the music of our Icy Mother, Bergchi. May she guide our Daughters steps to prosperity and lend music to our Sons for good fortune.”
The children replied at their Mother's prompt, “Bergchi watch over us.”
Kyhross smiled as he kept his eyes closed, “May our Fiery Lord Ault bring perseverance to our wandering path. May his warmth fill us with acceptance and grace for our fellow living creatures.”
The family replied, “Ault fill us with your warmth.”
The male lifted his chin, “May our Families Guardian, Lleuida light our path to what Fate has laid for us.”
“Lleuida light our way.” The children replied. ((word count: 1343/2485))

Solo The Family that Prays (part 2) Their Father exhaled slowly, “Now we reflect and address.” he said. After a few moments of silent meditation the male let go of his childrens hands. Sitting on the blanket beneath him, he motioned for his family to follow suit. Once they did he looked to his wife, “Reria. Love. Could you take Ririka, Riieo, Rukara and Rainese. Along with Kenise and Kerook to get their early evening meal?”
The early evening meal was for younglings to bond with their parents, most of the older children went as well to sneak a few bites before the evening meal. Kyrian blinked. If his Father wanted to talk with just his older sons, this couldn't be good. Reria leveled a stare to her husband, “I shall, Kyhross, my heart. But please bare in mind...there is a spare bedroll in our tent.”
Kyrian felt a sort of odd chill at those words, just what did his mother mean exactly? He noticed his Father paled but that was about it. He looked back and forth till his Mother was out of sight. Then he looked back to his Father as the male inhaled slowly. Kyhross looked at Kenriss, “Do you understand where you stand here?”
Kenriss gritted his teeth, “I do what I want. I still play my harp!”
“While dancing! For a male!” their Father growled. A scary fact to Kyrian was that their Father never, not once, yelled. He would get a low growl which was perfectly understandable to his children. Kyrian looked nervously back to his elder brother as their Father went on, “The other parents are worried about you Kenriss. That male isn't worth----”
“Because he's a hybrid?!?” Kenriss cut in. His tone shaky as Kyrian saw tears prickle his brother's eyes.
Kyhross wasn't phased, “Not because he's a hybrid, because its not natural. How can you give me...or your Mother grandchildren?”
Kenriss threw up his hands, the glimmer of a pretty indigo scarf flashing in Kyrian's view before the dark green poncho covered it again. He made a irratted noise, “I don't know...give a poor child a chance at a family? Ever think about that?”
Kyhross nodded, “That is a viable argument...but have you wondered what your brothers thought of this? Surely your actions have affected them now as well. More and more whispers are spreading...”
Kenriss paled before looking around at his brothers. Kyrian blinked as he looked at the other two elders. Kiirin blinked, “I ignore them for the most part, Father. My brother's happiness is more valuble than my comfort status wise.”
Kyrian chirped up as well, “I...don't even know what exactly is being said. But, if my feelings mattered I would say that Kenriss is most happy with that hybrid male than with any other person I've ever seen. So, if that matters at all Father then I say that I'm okay with him....dancing.....” Kyrian trailed off as his Father turned stony eyes on him.
Korhio cleared his throat, “Father. If I may weigh in.”
Kyhross looked to his eldest and nodded, “Go on, Korhio.” Kyrian knew that no matter what they said, Korhio's words would have the most impact as the eldest had proven himself a judge of character time and time again.
The eldest looked to Kenriss, reached out and pulled out the end of the indigo sash. Kenriss was tense pale with worry as his elder brother ran the cloth through his forefinger and thumb. Korhio had masked his face with the same impassive look their Father perfected. He smiled gently, “This sash was made with great care. I know that group is know for their cloths as a means of trade, just as we have our music. I think its fine for Kenriss to find happiness with this male.”
Kyhross nodded in defeat, “I can accept that. What I can't allow is the dancing. You can play your songs for him Kenriss, but if I ever hear whispers of you dancing for this male...you are never leaving these tents when they come to visit. Am I clear?”
Kenriss nodded, “Yes Father.”
The elder male sat back and sighed heavily, “Bergchi help me...you boys will give me gray hairs yet. Go on. Scamper off to the evening meal!” the three elders shot up and away, “Tell your Mother I shall join you all shortly!!”
Kyrian remained behind, moving to go into his parents tent to fetch his Father's brush. Smiling he came back out and tilted his head as he offered the brush, “Father?”
Kyhross smiled. A rare sight. He straighted, undoing his braid to allow his thick straw blond hair to flow out, “All right then...see if you can finally braid it as tight as I do, hm?”
Kyrian chuckled as he sat behind his Father, running the brush through the long tresses. He heard a soft hum from his Father. A lullaby he could recall being played to him by the elder many nights when he was a youngling. The same lullaby the male would sing to the current younglings. Once he was done the youth got super focused as he started the braid. He could feel his Father chuckle silently as he worked. Pouting he whined, “Father...”
“I'm sorry. Keep going...” the male said with a wave of his hand. Kyrian was quick when it got to the tail end of the braid and when it was tied he sat back with a small cheer. Kyhross however ran a critical hand down the braid and smiled, “Good try. Your loose in three spots.”
Kyrian pouted but smiled as his Father reached out to bring him into a hug, “Father...are you really upset with Kenriss over him wanting to be with a male...at least that what I think was being said.”
Kyhross chuckled, “Yes, my innocent child. That is what was being said. Truthfully, while I know within our group it is looked down on. I will choose to support my children. Though, I fear it would mean you all will leave me if I do. But, its apart of being a parent.”
Kyrian stayed in his Father's arms for a moment longer, “We should go to the meal.”
Kyhross chuckled as he stood, walking ahead of the male. Kyrian watched his Father's back. As much as he loved his Father, he could tell the male would make mistakes with his wording. Kyhross was a strong willed male and if you crossed him, Kyrian shivered. Sighing the male looked to where Kenriss had been sitting. Thinking about what makes him as happy as he sees Kenriss with that male the youth hummed before going to follow his Father. His mind churning with thoughts.((word count: 2485/2485))

Solo The Ceremony Part 1 of 4 It was an important day for the Valley Wind's Group. Everyone was bustling about getting ready for a upcoming Ceremony. A coming of age sort of thing. Youths all born in the same season as Kyrian were going to present a piece of their soul to the Elders of the Group. While everyone was within the Camp excited chatter the main noise as young men hummed out their songs while young woman twirled perfecting the last touches of their art. Where was our dear Kyrian...that was something his parents wanted to know.
Well....on a small rock formation overlooking the Camp sat our little musician.
Kyrian had been thinking a lot lately. Even before he met a new friend, it had started sometime after seeing his childhood friend again. The youth felt...odd. He missed Rham, even more so than before. His chest felt weird. He was tuning out other members of the group more and more recently. He knew then that he couldn't stay with the group. He was missing too much with his friends he made while traveling through their home territory. The fair haired male looked out over their current camp, wondering if his Mother was worried as he had been exploring further and further out than usual. Kyrian rubbed his left side, just under his heart as that's where a empty feeling was. It wasn't physical. It was...spiritual. He blinked.
Why was that happening?
He was fearful, out of instinct, to take this emptiness to their Father. Who knows how Kyhross would react. Kyrian shuddered before standing he needed to talk to Kenriss. Kenriss was always the more spiritual one of his brothers. He would know! With that thought in mind Kyrian hopped down his little perch and raced back to the camp. They had been fortunate enough to regroup with Kenriss' lovers group. So, Kyrian pretty much knew where his brother would be. Going straight through his camp the youth found himself in the hybrid Leaf/Wind groups camp. He smiled around brightly. Most of those here knew him from his trips into here to fetch Kenriss, in his attempts to create a more peaceful Prayer Time. He got the directions to where the two young males were. With a happy wave he dashed there and slowed to a stop as he heard his brother's harp. The youth made a confused face.
Why was he hearing singing going along with the tune? Kenriss rarely sung...and this voice was deeper. He slowly walked towards the song, stopping at a sight that he would later describe as “Beautiful”.
Kenriss was a colorful whirl of varying shades of Indigo, Bright Greens and some shades of Brown tossed in to help with the unique balance. He was dancing as he played the simple child's lullaby. Circling him in his own shades of Indigo, Dark Greens and splashes of Yellow to add contrast was the Leaf/Wind Hybrid Male that Kyrian knew Kenriss was attracted to. The male was taller than Kenriss, with long dark near light brown-sandy hair. His bright green eyes sparkled against his easily darkly tanned skin as his cool pink crystals lined under his rib cage, shoulders, around his eyes and a few speckled his calves. Kyrian didn't want move, not after he heard it was this male singing with his brother's harp.
Kyrian didn't need to talk to his brother now. He saw the happiness in Kenriss' eyes, as well as the happiness in the male's eyes. He felt that emptiness again realizing what it was. He missed Rham. He missed him so much. It wasn't just the fact that he was missing out on new adventures with his friends. That was a bonus. It was the happiness he felt around the other male. He made to turn before he heard the song die down. He let out a small sound as he felt eyes on him. Slowly turning around to look behind him he gulped as he looked back to see his brother and the male watching him. The hybrid male was standing behind Kenriss with his chin on the smaller male's shoulders.
“Hi there little Ky. What brings you here?” the males deep rich voice resounded in the little space.
Kyrian fiddled with his belt pouch, “I uhm...wanted to ask Kenriss a question. I-its a little personal so...” he thought about it. It made more sense for the male to stick around since he was apart of Kenriss' happiness. That and another view on the matter wouldn't hurt, “No wait. C-can you help answer it as well?”
The male looked confused but then a small fond smile, “Alright little Ky, but use my name once in a while hmm? Its Uturii.”
Kenriss chuckled, “Utu...be nice. Kyrian go ahead and sit. What is it you need answered?”
Kyrian sat on a cushion as Uturii and Kenriss took a much larger cushion not too far away. Uturii drawing one arm around Kenriss as he leaned into the slender male. Kenriss seemed perfectly content with his situation of being a life-sized pillow so Kyrian wasn't going to complain. Kyrian took a breath before speaking, “What makes you happy?”
Kenriss and Uturii both blinked in slight shock. Glancing to one another Kenriss gave a little cough before answering, “Playing music with the one my soul sings for.”
Uturii chuckled deeply as he leaned his forehead on the side of Kenriss's head, “What your brother said little Ky...why ask?”
Kyrian looked down at the ground, “My Song is to be heard soon, but I can't...summon it correctly. I mean I have it, that's for sure. It's good, but I thought about it and it feels...lacking.” he struggled with his words a few times. This confusion was new to the youth that much was painfully obvious to the two elders across from him.
Uturii sighed, taking some pity on the poor musician, “Can we hear what you had? Or did it fully escape you?”
Kyrian nodded. Taking a slow breath he started humming his song. A few bars in Uturii held up a hand, Kenriss stared at the Hybrid male. Kyrian blinked, “What?”
Uturii raised a dark eyebrow, “That was lacking something all right, little Ky. Heart. You have the talent for someone else to enjoy just the tune itself, but for someone like us. In our raising...that was completely lacking heart. What's bothering you?”
Kyrian blinked, “I....I don't know. I just feel...empty here.” he placed a hand on that spot below his heart. Looking back up he got confused as Kenriss smiled fondly, “What is it?”
Kenriss sighed, “Kyrian...I think you might be in love. Like I am with Uturii. The reason I'm so happy is because of that emotion. Its when you constantly think of a person, can't really stand to be apart from them and above all...you always want to play for them.”
Uturii blinked, “The kid got the love bug? Well...that's adorable. Who's the lucky girl?”
Kenriss narrowed his eyes in thoguht then a small smile, “I don't think it is a girl...Kyrian. How's Rham? I remember his group had joined us not so long....ago...” the elder sibling nodded slowly as he watched Kyrian's face turn an interesting shade of red.
Kyrian then looked away from his brother before speaking softly, “Rham's fine. We went on that adventure. Where we brought back the glowing crystals...He's back with his family. That's all.”
Kenriss nodded in understanding, “Kyrian...when you play your song for us this time. Think about Rham...and Mano, as a matter of fact. Think about all the friends you've made over the years that we hear traveled away or we see seasonally.” ((Word Count -- 1293//4009))

Solo The Ceremony part 2 of 4 Uturii looked at the wind male in question before turning his attention back to Kyrian as the youth inhaled softly. Kyrian drew up everything before starting. The tune started out softer than before, more somber. Then gradually as it went on Kenriss nodded in understanding by the middle of the tune Kyrian's eyes were lost to his emotions. At the end the youth looked up and saw Uturii near tears while Kenriss merely had a understanding smile on his face.
Kyrian raised his hand after several attempts to point at Uturii the youth gave up speaking, “Kenriss....is he....?”
“He's okay...just a little emotional is all. Kyrian. That song was perfect, all you were lacking from it was the right emotion with it. The tune was somber enough that is was easy for your emotions to be conveyed.” the elder explained while stroking Uturii's hair.
Kyrian nodded slowly understanding more about music than he had in recent years, “So...music...can be used to convey more than a pretty sound. It can convey emotions? They don't really cover that in lessons.” he pouted.
Kenriss and Uturii shared a chuckle. Kenriss' voice was broken by his laughter, “No they don't little brother. Which is why its something for you to discover for yourself and you just did.”
Kyrian nodded he felt more confident with his Song now...smiling he stood up; “Thank you Kenriss. Will you come back with me for the presentation?”
Kenriss hummed, “I think I shall, Uturii were you and your family planning on joining us for the Ceremony?”
Uturii dabbed at his eyes with the back of his hand as he nodded, “Yes. Your Elder invited us out to listen. Then partake of the evening meal.”
The brothers both smiled, Uturii understanding a little more about himself and why he was planning on whisking Kenriss away at the sight. The three stood, Kenriis replacing his dark green poncho before they made their way back into the Valley Wind's Camp. The Ceremony that the brothers were talking about was a yearly affair with the Minstrel/Dancer Group. It was a day where the youths of the year were asked to Present a Song or Dance which was wholly them at the time. If the Elders deemed it moving or right of the Performer the the youth would receive a Instrument/Coin Belt to allow them a further education in their Group's Profession. The item they were to receive was made for them by their Parents. Kyrian had seen the flute once or twice when he had grown into his clothes.
The youth sighed as he thought about all that happened, seeing Rham again and going on that advture was pure bliss. He wanted to explore another cave system with his friend soon. Then he met Mano, a awesome beautiful new sort of tribesmen that Kyrian wanted to adventure with again. Maybe next time he could make a glowing crystal pendant as a sign of their friendship for the other. Kyrian chuckled a fond smile growing as they neared their Parent's Tents.
“Kyrian there you are!” Their Mother's relieved voice halted the brothers. Kenriss giving the younger a sidelong glare before smiling at his mother, “You should of left word that you were practicing with Kenriss.”
Kyrian offered her a apologetic smiled, “I'm sorry Mother. I meant to, but Kenriss has a tendency to just wrap you up with spiritual talk.” he lied. He couldn't worry her with his wanderings.
Kenriss gave his brother a worried look, if Kyrian would fess up about wanting to leave this was going to be hard. Reria sighed as she fussed with Kyrian's hair, pulling it out of his usual small tail to finger combing it. Retying the golden waves the woman seemed thoughtful, “You'll do great Kyrian. I know it.”
The two brothers watched he walk away, exchanging worried looks before exhaling as she tending to the younglings. Kenriss looked at Kyrian, “You need to tell them.”
“I know but...” Kyrian started only to feel a chill as their Father's voice resounded behind them.
“Tell us what?” Kyhross inquired as he walked up. Korhio was impassivly walking in his Father's shadow as he looked at them. Kyrian could read even the most stoic face Korhio made. This was his 'oh you two have the worst timing' face...
Kyrian let out a squeak before inhaling gently, “Father...I don't. I don't feel as if I should remain with the Group after the Ceremony.”
It was pure silence in the small gathering of Tents. Kyrian was made painfully aware that all of his siblings were here to witness this moment. His Father didn't speak for a few more heartbeats. Heartbeats which Kyrian were feeling as if they were slowing to a all stop! Finally the elder opened his mouth to speak...
“Nonsense. You'll remain here as all youths do. Your path hasn't parted from the Group, not so long as I am your Father.” the male said sternly before walking away towards where the other Father's would gather to prepare the Stage. Kyrian stood stock still before he felt something warm spill down his cheek. Korhio's impassive mask dropped as he reached out bringing the youth into a tight hug. Kyrian hadn't realized he started crying until that moment.
It wouldn't be until minutes before the Performances that Kyrian would calm down. His Mother was a calm center, soothing him and reassuring him that his Father wasn't going to abandon him for even suggestion he was going to leave now. After taking a few deep breaths he joined the others, glancing around at those he knew. Some who tormented him about his looks as he was smaller in build than many of the males in his age range. He looked up to his Grandfather and the other Elders of their Group. The elderly male looked proudly at Kyrian then narrowed his eyes in concern as he noticed the red at the corners of the youths eyes. Kyrian offered the male a hopeful smile in return, but didn't like the knowing look the male gave to Kyhross. Kyrian felt then that he got his Father in trouble with his Grandfather. Solo The Ceremony part 3 of 4 Oops?
Kyrian glanced away to get into the mentality of the Before Ceremony Prayer led by his Grandmother. The elderly dancer was still fit to be a mother in her prime as she stood there in her Ceremonial Dancer Garb. She rose her hands the veil wings attached to her bracelets swept to tie to the ornate wide collar at the back.
“We close our eyes and open our hearts to our Icy Mother. We bring to you, our Lady Mother Bergchi these youths who present to us their Souls. Bergchi give them confidence to bear themselves to us.” Her strong steady voice lulled Kyrian into comfort. Inhaling as he closed his eyes the youth did indeed feel a icy wind sweep around them.
“Bergchi grant them strength.” the surrounding group members intonted.
“Now. All bear witness to these young souls.” Kyrian's Grandmother said as she lowered her hands. She smiled with pure adoration and pride at all the youths present, “Up first...Iconia.”
Kyrian tuned out the names, he knew all of them. The order went by oldest to youngest, the Group kept very precise records on the time of each birth. Of the 15 youths set to Present, Kyrian was the 13th. He smiled at the others, all were beautiful souls being presented. When it came time for him he walked to the center. Taking a breath he looked around, making the mistake of locking eyes with his stoic Father he lost his voice.
“Kyrian...your Song?” the gentle tone of his Grandfather reached his ears. Kyrian looked forward and nodded.
Taking a deep breath the youth slipped into the emotions again. The emptiness of feeling parted from his best firned Rham, of missing out on Mano's story. There were other things but those were the most recent ones. The youth started his Song, keeping his eyes closed to avoid loosing it if he looked at his Father again.
Kenriss smiled as he looked around, those who knew Kyrian now stared as if they never knew the youth. Those who met him in passing were amazed at the tune itself. Kenriss stole a glance to where his Father sat with the other Father's. Kyhross was still, his shoulders stiff until Kyrian hit that middle bar. Kenriss watched his Father flinch then slowly fold his hands in front of him eyes heavy with emotion as Kyrian came to the end. Kenriss inclined his head sending a prayer of thanks up to Bergchi for giving Kyrian the strength to convey to their Father what the male usually seemed to ignore. Kyrian let out the breath and with a small nod walked back to his spot. He felt a strong hand grasp his shoulder when he slowed to retake his seat. He looked up at one of the males who had tomormented him quite harshly.
The male didn't say a word but kept his hold. Kyrian gave him a small smile reaching up to pat the larger hand. The two then shared a nod before both sat. As the Performances ended Kyrian's Grandfather stood to speak, “Bergchi has indeed given these young Souls courage and strength.” He looked around the other Elders, “Its unanimous. Father's present your child with their Item.”
Kyrian stood with the other youths, scared yet relieved. He did it. Even if his Father wouldn't let him go, he did it all the same. It was an odd sort of triumph for the young Wind Male, but it was there all the same. What he wasn't expecting however was that his Father walked up to him with tears glistening in his eyes. Handing Kyrian a flute with small glowing crystals embedded into it, the male then pulled his son into a hug. Kyrian felt so much in that hug, he snuggled into it. Savoring the emotions for a song that he wanted to be the first played on his flute.
A few hours later found Kyrian and his blood kin sitting around his Grandparents Fire. He sat by Kenriss glancing up as Uturii and his immediate blood kin walked forward. Kyrian thought it was ironic that Uturii was a son of the Shifting Winds Group. His Mother being a Leaf Woman as his Father was a Wind Male. They were welcomed with warmth and took their seats. The children all mingling together as the younglings grouped up to play quiet games. The two mothers overlooking with calm knowing smiles.
The Fathers were talking for all of two minutes before a decorated Elder Staff found itself whacking Kyhross' head. Kyhross growled, “Father!?”
Kyrian squeaked as his Grandfather glare, “All right Kyhross what did your stubborn hide say to your own son before his Ceremony?”
Kyhross shook his head, “Father this is not the----”
“He told Kyrian he wasn't to part from the Group ever.” Reria said from off the to side. Kyhross slowly turned to stare. Her cool even look chilled him and Uturii's Father who was unfortunate to be standing by him. Her tone was even cooler than her look, “You made my baby cry. You have neither my mercy or sympathy dear Husband.”
Kyhross coughed before looking back to his Father. The elder male rubbed his temples, “Kyhross...”
Kyrian blinked again, “I-its all right. Father knows---”
“Kyrian.” Kyrhross' eyes were closed as he sighed deeply, “I am a narrow fool. Forget what I said before my Son, you have my blessing to leave for whatever journey awaits you. I pray Bergchi watches over you my dear child.”
Kyrian let out a happy cheer as Kenriss and Uturii hugged him from either side. Their Grandfather had a pleased little smile, “There is another matter I wish to address which is why I invited Ullis and his family here. Kenriss...it has been whispered you and Uturii have been...close.” he shared a knowing smile with his wife.
Kenriss blushed, “A-ah Grandfather, I----”
“Don't make excuses. Ullis. Did you receive my message?”
Uliss nodded, “Yes. I agree.”
“Good.. Kenriss as of tomorrow, upon the parting of our two groups you are to live among the Shifting Winds. As a...envoy of sorts.” the elder smiled. Kyrian darted forward and giggled as Kenriss and Uturii embraced. The parents all shared a chuckle before the elder male went on, “Kyrian, you are to travel with them till you reach the borders you may go to Tale or Matori.” ((word count -- 3424//4009))

Solo The Ceremony part 4 of 4 Kyrian nodded before smiling around at his family. This would be the last night he would see any of them, glancing down to his youngling sblings he blinked back tears. Reria held her son from behind, “Its all right my son. We have your image, they'll know of you. When you get a companion you can train them to find us...and who knows. Maybe you'll travel back for a visit! Think positively my dear.”
“Yes Mother.” Kyrian sniffled.
That night found all of Kyhross' and Reria's children in their parents tent. All asleep with Korhio holding Kyrian as Kerook curled into his elder brother's stomach. Reria laid on her side, Kyhross leaning on her as they watched their children. Etching the memory in their minds the parents fell asleep sending a prayer to Bergchi to protect Kyrian.
The next morning Kyrian and Kenriss each had a new bag. Kyrian's a bit more on the larger side as he also had a few gifts stowed away for his new chapter in his life. He fingered his Flute, its dark coloration a beauty in itself as the indigo glow from the cyrstals told him what his Group did with that larger cluster he and Rham had found. He looked up as Korhio walked forward, the male lifted up the same small cluster of crystals that Kyrian had thought he lost.
“I found it. You dropped it outside of your Tent. I had intended to give it back to you after you got your flute, but this is better. Don't you think?” he chuckled as he draped it around the younger male's neck, “Don't be afraid of the dark.”
He smiled. Kiirin stepped up with a small pouch belt, it was larger than the one he had with him at the moment. Kyrian's jaw fell open at the little loops he knew to be a special slot for his Flute; “So you don't lose it.” the male said with a cocky smirk.
Kenriss rolled his eyes, “You'll get my gift when its time for you part from us.” Kyrian nodded.
His Mother and youngling siblings walked forward, “I had the younglings help me make these for our tri-annual trek to our sibling Ice Cousins in Zena, but you're getting these early.” she held out a pair of soft gloves fur lined around the wrist and with a line of fur up the middle, alongside it was a large scarf which would wrap several times around his shoulders also fur trimmed and the final item was a pair of boots lined with fur at the top and with a line of fur down their sides. Kyrian's jaw really did drop, fur was a rarity with their group for his Mother to have made them ALL this set of items was astounding.
After the little gift giving and a few weeks traveling with Uturii's Group, Kyrian found himself standing on the border for Tale. Kenriss cleared his throat, walking forward he took out Kyrian's hair. Kyrian looked confused till Kenriss pulled out a large hair comb, the soft glow of a crystal in its center, “Here. I made this for you.” Kenriss explained as he pulled the younger's hair up and pinned it in place.
“Grow your hair out more so it looks prettier.” Uturii teased from behind Kenriss. Kyrian laughed as he hugged both of them before turning and looking over the new land. He was ready for this journey....((word count -- 4009//4009))
