Kyrian sat crossed legged as he listened to his Gramps go on and on. It seemed as if one of their ally groups were going to be joining up with them. Kyrian’s bright blue eyes were glittering as he was excited. He had a few friends among the group, but there was one in particular. Rham. Kyrian giggled then went wide eyed as his Gramps cleared his throat.

“Sorry sir.” he mumbled before nodding, “I can’t wait to share the mid-day meal with them...may I be excused?”

After getting the clear the youth skittered off and sighed. Where was his friend he wondered as he saw the group approach.

Today was the day Rham was going to do something big and important! ….What it was, well, he hadn’t figured that out yet, but he wanted to just do something. The blond boy ran down the trail towards the other group, grinning widely before he spotted Kyrian.

All at once Rham tackled the other to the ground and sat on his legs. “Hey! We need an adventure today. ...I don’t have any ideas for said adventures, but. This is a thing we need to do.” His hands rested on Kyrian’s stomach and just stared down with his blue-green eyes and a boyishly charming grin. “Now. Do you have any food? I’m starving and I woke up too late for breakfast.”

Kyrian wished he had the ability to predict Rham sometimes, he really did. Though the two knew each other long enough that he should of seen Rham tackling him. He still felt his breath leave his lungs as he laid there under the other youth. With a few small pants he blinked up at the other male, “Hi. A fair warning that I would lose my chance at breathing would of been nice. But, that’s okay...having an adventure with you sounds way better!” he got a thoughtful look, “Food. Well, we were making the mid-morning meal. So, I guess we can go join in that.”

Kyrian stood as he heard his Mother call for the boys, “Meal’s ready! Lets go!!” he gently pushed at the other male, “Please?”

Rham just grinned a bit as he watched the other, messing up that fluffy hair before he looked up when Kyrian’s mom called. Huffing a little bit, he got off the other blond and reached down to help him up with a laugh. “If I warned you, it wouldn’t be any fun for me, would it? You have this great expression and your face gets all red.” Smirking, he shoved the other ahead of him and just wandered behind him.

“So, what adventure do you want to embark on today? I’ll warn you about something. I tangled with a merchant not too long ago, so wandering into the town that way,” he jerked his head to where he just came from, “would not be wise. At least… not with me there.”

Kyrian shook his head. Rham was a good friend sometimes, but others the blond musician wondered about. He smiled up at his best friend, chuckling at the hair ruffle. Then reaching out to pull himself up his smile sorta faded as Rham’s words sunk in; “Wait...again?!?” he jaw slightly fell open, “Its that like the third time this month?!?”

Rham’s earlier comment about his face didn’t go unheard as he lightly punched Rham’s upper arm; “Really?! That’s what you wanna say about me….” he blushed as he mumbled, “Thanks.” Kyrian was an oddball, this would be a prime example for him to look back on later on in his life. The wind youth shook his head as they walked down into the large bonfire. Grabbing his plate then turning to where the food was laid out, he smiled at Rham. His tone was light and airy, “There’s a rock formation not to far from here. The acoustics are fantastic! I could whistle a new song for you! I don’t have my flute yet.”

There he was, blushing again. Rham just grinned as he grabbed his own plate and hummed lightly. “What do you want me to say? That it’s the most adorable shade of red? Because, let me tell you something. It’s not.” Now Rham was teasing him. He stuck his tongue out at the other before nosing into Kyrian’s shoulder with a low chuckle. Still, he ate some of the meat with a low hum and chewed thoughtfully.

“Second time. Last month it was three times. Get your months straight,” he murmured slowly, swallowing with a low hum. Then the rock formation was mentioned but then so was the flute and Rham hung his head down low. “Can we just.. not? Like, you’re good, but I want to do something not revolving around your flute and your weird finger movements.” Sometimes it creeped him out how much he stared at Kyrian’s fingers as he played. Rham wasn’t even sure what he was going to do once they split ways, he didn’t want to only remember those fingers.

Kyrian rolled his eyes at the tease, “All right, all right.” nudging the others shoulder in return. He then smiled, “Then we’ll go there to climb. I heard some of the others talk about how there were caves hidden there too. Did you want to look through those?” he tilted his head before chewing on a piece of meat. The youth then looked around at some of the older bard’s as they started up a song. Though music was in his blood and apart of his mindset, sometimes it was good to take a break. He looked back to Rham.

Well, he nudged the other back and gave a grin. Caves were good. “Yeah. I like exploring them. Who knows, maybe we’ll find something good. Maybe something like treasure or… I don’t know. A cool helmet.” What were in caves? Rocks, mostly, some bugs, some weird creatures, but sometimes there were little things like that, right? Rham had never actually found anything in a cave, but there was a first time for everything.

As they ate, one of Rham’s hand snuck up the other’s back and tugged at his hair with a smirk and then nudged him again. “Look, you can play now, but when we’re all alone? Adventure.”

Kyrian was starting to get excited now, finding a small treasure that just the two of them would share the story of. Awesome! He only heard little stories about what the others found in caves. Mostly scary things, like a bone or glowing eyes. He blinked as a small thread of fear weaved its way through his stomach. Oh...boy. What if they found something really big? He gulped then let out a soft squeak, “I-I didn’t want to play now. Those guys are jerks. Some of them have longer hair than me and they started up with their usual insults. You would think that since my Gramps was the Group Leader, they would let up. Nope.” he sighed, “Adventure is what I need.”

He smiled at Rham, “Wonder what we’ll find in there. I heard a few stories that sorta unnerve me.”

Ah yes, the insults that he was way too girly for someone who’s a boy. Sighing, Rham just shook his head and tugged on the other’s hair again before resting his chin on that shoulder. “Look, Kyrian. Just ignore them. If you wanna play with them play and don’t listen to their petty insults. I bet they’re just jealous that they’re not as good.” He grinned a little before going back to his food, finishing it off with a few big bites.

“....Yeah I know about the scary ghost stories, but none of those caves are around here. They’re always off somewhere else. Just…” He shrugged. “I’ll protect you.”

Kyrian squeaked at the hair tug, blushing lightly at the other male. Smiling at Rham’s words he nodded, “Thank you, Rham. But really right now. I just wanna sit here with my friend. Finish this meal, then explore some caves.” he chuckled as he finished the last few bites of his meal. Once done he licked his lips then saw that his Mother was doting on his youngling brother. Giggling he nodded at the sight, “Mom’s tormenting Kerook again...poor thing. Well, better him than me.”

He looked around again and saw his nosey little sister Ririka, “Oh crap! Rham. If we want to go to the caves we’ll need to hightail it before Ririka sees us. Remember how she is about tagging along!”

And honestly, that was all the prompting Rham needed. He got up and tugged Kyrian with him, running off away from the group hand in hand with muffled see you laters and just giggled. Well, he didn’t want any tag alongs, much less little ones like that. They were always a handful to watch over and they never, never listened.

Once they were far enough away, Rham’s sprint cooled down to a walk and he just swung their joined hands a bit, not even thinking about it as he slipped his fingers between the other’s, just humming to himself. “Okay, so these caves. I hope they’ve got like, little things. Little crawling paces so we can really go exploring.” Just walking in a cave was no fun. He wanted to crawl around, get dirty and maybe discover that treasure. After all, no one put treasure where anyone could just walk up and find it, right?

He turned his head over his shoulder to look at the other and then winked at him. “Know what I mean?”

Kyrian giggled as he followed Rham’s lead, giving his Mother a wave. Blushing at her knowing smile as the two youths ran off. He wouldn’t think too hard on the smile, not till later in his life. He smiled down at their joined hands enjoying the warmth the other always brought him. He looked up locking eyes with Rham’s own. Momentarily lost for words he blinked, “Ah...yeah! Their uh...just over there…” he used his free hand to gesture over to a gaping hole, “Well that’s just one…but there are others. Supposedly scattered around here.”

He nodded, “Maybe we’ll find our own treasure. I’m really excited about this, Rham!”

Blue-green eyes looked over at the opening when it was pointed out and he just squeezed Kyrian’s hand before wandering closer to it, peeking inside without actually going inside. He let out a whistle, yet again, and listened to it echo this time.

“I think it’s a big cave,” he murmured, listening to how many times he heard it. He waved the other over and just smirked.

Honestly if he’d seen the look Kyrian’s mother gave, he probably would have been confused and slightly embarrassed. He knew he was overly touchy with Kyrian, and basically only with him. The other was his best friend, so what was a little touching? It was innocent and calming a lot of times.

“Follow me then.”

With that, he moved into the cave slowly, shivering as his bare feet hit the cold stone.

Kyrian inhaled slowly at hearing the whistle, well that did sound like it was big. He shivered a bit before following after Rham. Letting out a shaky breath as his feet hit cold stone right after Rham. He pouted, “Rham...if I see glowing eyes. I out of here.” he looked around.

He reached out and found Rham’s hand again. Taking their previous hand holding he looked around the rock walls. Keeping close to the slightly taller male.

“If you see glowing eyes it’s probably just an animal,” he said, snorting. Grinning a bit more, he shifted to wrap his arms around Kyrian’s waist and just walked with him in the cave in kind of a penguin movement, just back and forth from side to side, forcing the other boy in the cave. “See? Not so bad. Just… a little cold..”

He laughed and shivered a little, resting his head on top of that fluffy blond hair before kissing the top of his head and moving ahead of him. “Come on. We won’t find treasure wasting daylight.”

Kyrian blushed brightly as the others arms moved around him, fearing that his blush alone would light up the cave! He leaned into the other male’s side enjoying his warmth, “Animal or not...if its big enough to eat us. We’re running. I will drag you.”
At the kiss however his blushed reached a whole new brightness, well. That just happened. He nodded mutely as he followed the other male.

“Please, if you could drag me, you would totally be a lot bigger than me,” he murmured, grinning a bit more. Rham let Kyrian lean against him and just kept walking, at least until he found a split in the path. Well, well, their first choice. He paused and let his brows knit a little as he looked one way and then the other.

“Okay, big guy. Left or right? Going to let you chose. And don’t worry, I’ll remember the way out. I’ve got an excellent memory.” Not true, but he liked to pretend. If he pretended enough then it would be true, right? It was like confidence or something?

Kyrian smiled, “I can try you know.” he then looked at the split. Turning to look back he looked at the walls spotting small lines leading down the left side, then looked back to see no lines on the right. He blinked, “I say left! Rham. If you noticed the lines...it looks like some sort of trail? Maybe we’ll find something down there.”

He hoped his little observation would pay off.
